My favorite place to go. Great atmosphere and people. When you first walk in the crisp fresh air dances in a your nostrils from no more smoking inside, the food twerks their flavor filled booties all over the tastebuds, and the soft gentle words from Jesse the DJ and Geo the owner serenading me with C.J. come back on karaoke when I walk in. Can't go wrong here with the great staff. Now all I need is Kimber the manger to bring the puppies to see me again. read more

Went there for my first time last night and can definitely say I was insanely disappointed. I put my name in for karaoke (always looking for a karaoke spot since I moved) and went to my seat. After 10 minutes I double checked my name in case I wanted to change my song and was told "I don't know, there's 25 people ahead of you so when you come up you can let me know." Great, I knew I just got there and knew how long the list was. After an hour of hearing great people sing but at least 10 people not going up for their spot and new people coming in and instantly going, I was told I was 20 people out. I was then told that the people that got to sing were people that tipped him to move up the list; I told him to remove my name and I went back to finish my drink to leave. My friend who invited me told me he tipped him and then I was 6 people out. I was not having it... I went up to the karaoke guy to get my friend's money back, called him out for extorting people for what should be fun and free, got it back not easily, and was told to leave the establishment by him multiple times. I then went to cash out and he had went behind the bar and poured himself a hefty shot in front of me. I am service industry and I've managed my own places. I know I can't fully say a place is bad because of one person, but I will tell my experiences and I will never be back. I know one person, in that sense, doesn't make a lot of difference to anyone; it's experiences that matter though. Big Daddy's has changed some since the last time I've been there. The upgrades are great, lots more space.. but i'd suggest putting some money into the bathroom situation, it's really taking "dive bar bathroom" to another level. This is a great, local, hang out for Karaoke lovers and smokers. We played darts for a few hours and were no where near any smokers, but when I got home I stunk like I had been hot boxing a smoke room or something. I love going to Big Daddy's just to hang out and listen to the Karaoke that they have every night after 9PM. Big Daddy's is a real divey bar where you have a variety of people that come in to enjoy a drink or two or seven. I love listening to everyone sing Karaoke because it's just pure entertainment. Some people suck really bad (I'm one of them) and some people are really awesome. The drink selection is decent, but the prices are a bit higher than other hole-in-the-wall bars. They also have hookahs available- but out of all the times that I've been there, I haven't seen anyone smoke one before. I like it. And I will be going here often. read more

We went here because it was one of those places on the list of "have you been there" in Orlando. I didn't mind the smoke or any of that, but the prices were a bit much. $7 for a beer at a dive? My FAVORITE karaoke spot, mainly because they have it 7 nights a week! But also because they have an amazing selection of songs. There's also a guy who's there running it 1-3 nights a week who has a super sophisticated setup: instead of the traditional binders of songs to choose from, he has a free app that you download. You put in your name, song choice, and you can even choose to have the key of the song played a step up or step down, depending on your vocal range. So cool! Mama wanted to check out Big Daddy's so we went in for a spell. We sat at the bar and baby had a Corona with lime. Miss Daisy's DD just enjoyed her company. The place reminds me of a little hole in the wall we'd go to when living in Texas only smaller. All of the staff were very friendly but mama was in "Bar Hop" mode. As I got up from the bar, my shirt was caught on a nail. I let them bartender know what happened and pointed out the two nails that were not driven all the way in so they could fix it. I know how I would have handled the situation but not all are me so we just left. One beer cost me a $40 shirt. I will replace the shirt but I will never set foot in Big Daddy's again because of how it was handled... Note to the manager: Instead of worrying about taking a photo for the owner, you should have just asked for my number and said.. "I will replace the shirt and please accept my apology." and my response would have been... "No big deal... Things happen." and let it drop. read more

It started off great when we trusted some friends that this was THE spot. It was empty which i didn't mind but the karaoke was awesomeeeee. I drank 3 drinks TOTAL. ONE of them was FREE with a free drink ticket for doing karaoke. But i got charged for FOUR drinks. She told me i ordered 5 drinks!! When i tried to explain that i didn't drink that many she tried to tell me i was wrong. After having to argue about it she was like "I'll take it off the check BUT....." At that point i had already paid So i was like honestly forget it. I don't care about the $5. It was the principal. I don't even drink that much! So next time i have friends who wanna check out a new place, I'll make sure to tell them to avoid this place since they can't keep track of the drinks they sell. Lol read more

From the moment I wandered into Big Daddy's sober, I knew I was going to need assistance to the parking lot by night's end. The beer selection here is insane. The friendly bartender gave me a mixed concoction of Stella Artois and Woodchuck Cider. It tasted like apple juice for grownups and I knew I'd found my Happy Place. There's got to be at least 30 beers on tap and the bottle selection is huge. Karaoke is a serious institution here. Unlike 90% of karaoke bars in town, people actually pay attention to the singers here. There is a stage large enough to accompany numerous people. My girlfriends and I managed to clear the place out after our fantastic rendition of "Bad Romance." If you like looking at hipster men wearing plaid shirts and tight jeans, this is the place to do it. The hot factor is high here, and for the first time in ages I didn't get hit on by a man who resembled somebody I saw on "America's Most Wanted" in the early 90s. I see most of the complaints here are driven by people who hate the smoke. I smoke. That's probably one of the main reasons I like it here. As a frequent visitor to Orlando, FL; I often find myself in need of some good old fashioned entertainment. I would visit Big Daddy's often to soak in the atmosphere and chat with the locals. Lately however there has been a change to this place that has made me question my continued visits. Some of the hosts are friendly and welcoming, however others are not very welcoming In desperate need of an attitude replacement, they appear distracted, boring, and sometimes dismissive of the customers. The bar staff are a proud bunch. Nice smiles, great professionalism, and competence in delivering your drink quickly and with great flair. However, after seeing their prices, I was forced to limit myself in consumption. Compared to other local establishments of a similar nature, this place is a bit on the expensive side. There are other places nearby offering similar service and atmosphere that will not make a big dent in your bank account. It appears that the new owners are hoping to capitalize on the goodwill of the regular patrons, but I'm afraid that bank is slowly dwindlling. DO NOT RUN A TAB - PAY PER DRINK CASH ONLY!!! They lost my debit card 5 days before I am moving out of state! Let me start off by saying Big Daddy's is my old stomping grounds. I used to go there every Thursday night from 2005-2006. Going there now really makes me miss the days when DJ Di killed it on the stage, Kimmy flung the beers back behind the bar, and every person who got up to sing was not the next hopeful for American Idol. DJ Di is still there on select nights, apparently. Guess she had this Saturday night off. The atmosphere was very diverse - they are a full liquor bar now. They have expanded the back room by knocking out the back wall. The place is still small, dark and smokey. Groups of 120 lb frat bros in blazers who are so drunk they can't walk and hit on anything with a bra is a definite staple. Expect a 2-3 hour wait time to sing, unless you are a regular and know the KJ - then you're next. Also the new and improved stage and speaker system is an upgrade, and by upgrade I mean so over sized for the room and loud it will blow you down the street to Redlight Redlight, where you'll probably have a better time anyways. Not a smoker? You will be by the time you leave here regardless of your preference. It's going to take 2 days and 3 showers to get the ashtray smell off my body. Another 3 days for my smoker's lung to clear. They had at least 4 bartenders. We sat at a table in the back room and received our first drink via a waitress coming to our table, whom required we give her credit cards to start a tab. She never came back so we got the rest of our drinks by going up to the bar. The bartender who helped us after that spot on, fast and friendly. Upon closing my tab I was informed they didn't have my debit card and I needed to check my purse to see if they gave it back to me already. They didn't. They then proceed to get out flash lights and scour the floor looking for my card. They never found it. I told the bar manager she would need to comp my tab, but I would pay her cash for her tip since she was the one who got my drinks all night, our waitress only brought 1 drink and was the one who lost my card in the first place. She agreed. I'm pretty laid back and normally would have just shrugged this off as bad luck, but I am moving out of state in 5 days and have put all of my moving deposits on that card. I need that card to pay off the rest of my moving expense and don't have time to wait for a replacement in the mail. IDK what the hell I'm going to do - but needless to say DON'T RUN A TAB WITH A CARD - PAY CASH BY THE DRINK! The bar manager acted like this was a normal occurrence. She said they probably gave my card to someone else and they usually bring it back in a couple of days. Um no, consider that card cancelled. read more

Last weekend was Zombietoberfest and this seemed to be a good spot to end the night. The karaoke was in full swing (zombie karaoke) and the beer was plentiful. The issue I've got with this bar... there are some really sketchy people that hang here. Ladies, keep an eye on your drinks and definitely use the buddy system when walking out to your car. I was the DD and saw enough to know, this isn't where I want to knock a few back. Ooooh, Big Daddy's! I actually really love it here! The only downside, which my amazing sister Kelly H. pointed out 3 years ago and is still true, IT IS SO SMOKEY! :( Like... wash my hair 3 times in one day afterwards and I still reek kinda smokey. Oh well. I've been here twice in the past few months, and it's been lots of fun! A lot of "karaoke pros" seem to love it here, but don't let that scare you off, amateur! (aka me. i'm the amateur here). Even we will receive a standing ovation with enough confidence and spunk. The drinks are reasonable priced and the selection is good. They have a pool table in the back, and plenty of seating everywhere. The song selection is awesome, and the karaoke DJs are very nice. But be warned, get here early-ish if you want to sing! I didn't understand the allure of Big Daddy's when I was in college, and I still don't understand it now. Saying that it's smoky is an understatement. I showered when I got home from the bar and had to wash my hair twice to remove the stench. True story. The karaoke was fun, and I enjoyed watching a friend get up and croon to a Spanish love song. The waitresses also really get in to the music and dance around, which is kind of cute until they forget to bring your beer bucket. The people that frequent this bar are usually drunk and obnoxious. I might go back if my friends are dead-set on singing some Queen, but otherwise, I'm going to pass on Big Daddy's. read more

I'm all for a laid back bar and I'm definitely all for kareoke. But a generous amount of cigarette smoke, not so much. So although I tried to play tough and enjoy the night (because it was a friend's birthday) I eventually had to leave to breathe normally again. My friends decided we needed to sing our little hearts out, so we decided to head here, as this seems to be known around town as the place to karaoke. This is your typical dive bar, with a nice stage area setup. Drink prices are reasonable, and the bar staff was nice. If you want to sing, they have a massive book of songs to choose from. You choose your song and write it down on a slip of paper, submit it, and wait your turn (or chug a few drinks in nervous anticipation). From what I gathered during my people watching time here, people take their karaoke-ing pretty seriously. There was a little bit of an older crowd here, well, I guess more of a mix of ages, and most of the folks were decent singers, and really into it. Which made my nerves worse, since I am a terrible singer. So sorry to the group that had to sit through me butchering that Queen song, by the way! My biggest complaint is the smokiness, but that's what you get at a bar, so I guess it's not even really a complaint. More of a warning. read more

Visited Big Daddy's on a few different occasions, just for a quick drink. Both times, the place was pretty empty, and both were on weekend evenings (the second time being last night an hour before the Super Bowl started). My first thought was how could this place be empty on one of the biggest sport nights of the year? They have a nice selection of beer and a full bar. What makes them stand out from other bars is their "mixed beers", such as the snake bite. The happy hour deals aren't the best, but they do have free pool until 7pm as well as darts and a few other games you can play. It's dark, smokey, and the bartender was very friendly (and overly chatty). We may come back and check out karaoke sometime to see if the place has a few more patrons. read more

How can you not love a place where the bartender (much love to Tricia!) comes up to you when you walk in and asks if you'd like your usual Orange Blossom Pilsner? AND she remembered my hubby's preference also. I was impressed. Also, the crowd that goes here - super friendly and kind. Pretty much any song goes at Big Daddy's. At some karaoke bars you'll be glared at if you bust out with the wrong type of song. Here - there's everything from classic country to hair-band music. It's all fun and everyone has a great time. I am totally with Lauren E. on this one. I ventured off to Big Daddy's for the first time last weekend and was turned off. As soon as my friends and I walked in, we were greeted by a cloud of smoke. But we marched on towards the bar. The place was packed with all sorts of "interesting" characters to say the very least. Big Daddys isn't exactly the largest of bars either. So the combination of the two just led to immediate disapproval. Top all of that with the lack of service we received. It took us all of 5 minutes before we decided to break out. Oh and I forgot to mention that it was Karaoke night (Saturday) and there was a dude singing "Shoop" by Salt N' Pepa. Let me emphasize again that it was a guy singing that song. Judging by other reviews, I may have to catch Big Daddys on another night. WeatherMan Predicts: 100% chance of smoke cloud cover! Good chance of some awful karaoke singing. If you like dark, dirty and smoky this is the place for you. I just moved to orlando and went there for the first time. If you like to play games there is a wide range of them. I thought the staff was friendly. The crowd s very interesting lots of interesting people and you do get the sence this bar has.its.regulars. We went for the kareokee and it was clear that if you did not know the DJ or where a fustrated singer your chances of getting called up where slim. The fun part of kareokee is also having fun with those of us that dont have peefext pitch. Had fun but dont know if would.get exited to go back. read more

I LOVE Big Daddy's and I don't even sing karaoke. Most of the people that sing here are some what decent and it's a lot of fun. DJ Di keeps things funny and moving. Tricia is an awesome waitress! I love that anything goes and people sing a variety from Broadway to current. top 40 to oldies. This is a beer and wine only spot, but don't let that deter you...Tricia will help you find something you like. I'm not big on beer and now I have a favorite thanks to her. The downside...it is smoky. Yes, you'll have to shower ASAP. I HATE smoke (pretty allergic) but it's only for one night. Maybe it's in who you go with...if you know people who are singing and you go to have fun then it will be a fun night. Yet another bar in Orlando that my friend assured me I would like. Why? Divey? Check. Karaoke? Check. Hookah and cigarettes ok? Check. Booze? Check. So we ended the night here. We came in a bit late but were still able to score seats at the bar near the karaoke stage. I immediately grabbed a book so I could wow people with my karaoke skills. Not that I can sing...don't get it twisted. I am more of a hard rock screamer or a rapper. Think Whitesnake more than Whitney or Vanilla Ice more than Vanessa Carlton (is that a singer?). Anyway, imagine my disappointment when my ultimate karaoke JAM was not available and they did not have the ability to get it. Waaah. I hate that. Every karaoke person should get a setup where they can get ANY SONG! But whatever...I sang Whitesnake instead. Fun! As for the rest, I got drinks quickly, we ordered a hookah and it was delicious. I visited the bathroom which has to be one of the strangest setups ever. You go through the door and end up in a hallway facing another door. Inside that door is the one seater bathroom. So dancing around the other lady coming out of the bathroom is awwwwkward! Overall I dug this place and would definitely come back when back in Orlando! read more

It's soothing to know that you can go karaoke pretty much every night of the week. However, most of the time there is a long queue to get in. Only been a few times, but don't think I've waited long enough. I tend to be in there for a short time mostly for some reason. That's the nature of the game, so I can't fairly complain. I can't talk about the food, but the drinks are great. Though a bit pricey, they have these mixtures that are to die for. I believe the one I love has framboise and woodchuck? But framboise is expensive, so I shouldn't complain. Look forward to more adventures here. Should come ready to chill (getting drunk on my drink would be expensive) or already a bit drunk. It's incredibly smoky, has terrible karaoke, questionable bathrooms, and cheap drinks...which is exactly all you need on some nights. While there are plenty of tables as well as a large double-sided bar, things can get tight on Friday and Saturday nights. They have a pretty sizable beer bottle list, with a dozen or so more on tap. Liquor was finally added last year, so now they have all the bases covered. Karaoke can vary depending on who's hosting, but at the end of the day it's the crowd that makes it fun...so get up and sing! read more

I went to Big Daddy's for the first time last weekend just to see what it was like. I started on Friday night and the manager came right up to us and was very nice. She made us feel right at home. The KJ on Friday was Jack and since I am a country singer I really liked his selection of songs and the atmosphere. The rotation did not get too long (about 9 singers) so I sang quite a bit. You could feel that there were a lot of serious singers there and we did get a few funny looks early in the night because we weren't regulars. But after I sang we started making new friends and the night just got better and better. On Saturday night Di was the KJ and she was nowhere near as bad as a lot of the reviews on here have made her out to be. She ran a tight rotation but the only small issue I had was that she really enjoyed talking. I love a KJ that is funny and entertaining but when you have a long rotation I think you should try to keep it rolling. She also wasn't as country friendly but did not hold it against me or anyone else if we sang a country song. As a matter of fact she even sang one! As far as the bar itself, it is definitely divey. The chairs are not comfortable at all and it does get smokey but for most of us it is exactly these things that we have come to love about a great bar. Its not a cigar bar after all. The beer is a little pricier than a lot of other bars ($9.00 for domestic pitchers) but they have a decent selection including beer I've never heard of like Lefthand Milk? Over all I give it 4 stars because we had a great time Friday night and a decent time Saturday. I took 1 star away because of the chairs and price of beer although it isn't much off par with the norm. I do recommend this place to anyone who loves to sing because the sound is awesome and the entire staff gets into it. If you don't enjoy karaoke then this is not the place for you. read more

If you love to sing or hear random people sing Karaoke then this is the place to go in Orlando. The people who come on stage seem to be regulars, some of them surprisingly good. I am not a karaoke person but i still enjoy the atmosphere. The diverse selection of beer on tap is what draws me to this place, and the fact that Im friends with a bunch of professional singers. The only downside to this place is that on certain evenings there is way too much smoke and you will leave having smoked a pack or two even if you don't smoke. read more

Great beer/drink selection, friendly service and a cool atmosphere. As Pete W. pointed out, though, things can get pretty crazy during karaoke time. And yeah, there's a lot of smoke in there. If you can handle all of that, then by all means give it a shot. The beer/cider/drink selection is rivaled by that of only a few select places throughout town (Copper Rocket/Jax/etc.) There doesn't seem to be a lot of space for parking, so you're likely going to have to park out on Corinne Dr. somewhere, especially if you check in late at night ... just FYI. read more
