I went for pick up and the owner apologized and told me that it was still at the alterations place an hour away and that he would bring it in tomorrow. (A week after it was supposed to be finished). He also insisted that these items would be free of charge because of his mistake and the inconsistency. Mind you, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and a flight that leaves at 5 am. so I told him that I cannot wait until tomorrow, and the fact that it's over a week late is not my problem but his. I offered to pick it up and he said no, he would bring it to the shop. Well I get there to pick it up from the cleaners and he proceeds to tell me that it will be 88$. How? When you were late and you just said it was free. Meanwhile I told him that was ridiculous and he charged me 60$, only for me to try it on at home and see the end result (see photos attached) . I went back and showed him, he gave me a refund. But moral of the story, I went through hell and back for jeans I can't even fit anymore since they took the butt in and all I needed was the waist. This changed last week when, on account of laziness, I opted to hand over a number of t-shirts rather than hand washing them as I normally do. I was in a hurry, so I left with a receipt indicating the number of shirts, but not the price per item. Upon returning to pick up the shirts I was horrified to find that I was being charged $4.50 per t-shirt. Not for dry cleaning. Not for special care, but to launder and press the shirts. A standard button down dress shirt costs $1.50, so at least in my estimation, the price is exorbitant. Despite the on-going business relationship no accommodations were made. I paid 1/2 of the outstanding balance (because it was all the cash I had in pocket and it was the middle of a tornado watch), but was not permitted to take a single shirt until I settled the entire debt. Upon my return, I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked if he would accept the standard shirt rate. No such luck. No discount. No apology. It goes without saying that I will not return. On a semi-positive note, when I hung the shirts in my apartment, I discovered an additional shirt of mine that went missing some months ago. Apparently it had been floating around in the basement for a while. At least it finally made its way home.

The other tailor said they would have to add material to repair--which in my eyes meant too much work and money to fix a simple repair. The tailor at Walton Cleaners not only repaired the camisole within 24 hours, she repaired it so well that one can hardly tell the camisole had been torn to begin with and they charged me a very reasonable price to fix it.
