Horrible. Charged way too much and did half the job and then when I called them out on it I had to wait a week and then they tried to tell me I had to pay an additional $25. Then I argued and he said he would do it. Picked it up today and it still looks like garbage. The sleeve is barely hanging on. I will never go here again. I dropped a pair of jeans off and a dress 3 weeks ago for alterations. He told me it would be ready the following Friday. However I was out of town for a work event so I was not able to retrieve the items until the following Thursday. I went for pick up and the owner apologized and told me that it was still at the alterations place an hour away and that he would bring it in tomorrow. (A week after it was supposed to be finished). He also insisted that these items would be free of charge because of his mistake and the inconsistency. Mind you, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and a flight that leaves at 5 am. so I told him that I cannot wait until tomorrow, and the fact that it's over a week late is not my problem but his. I offered to pick it up and he said no, he would bring it to the shop. Well I get there to pick it up from the cleaners and he proceeds to tell me that it will be 88$. How? When you were late and you just said it was free. Meanwhile I told him that was ridiculous and he charged me 60$, only for me to try it on at home and see the end result (see photos attached) . I went back and showed him, he gave me a refund. But moral of the story, I went through hell and back for jeans I can't even fit anymore since they took the butt in and all I needed was the waist. And now I have to go to Walgreens and get an emergency sewing kit to fix the top od the dress. Thanks Wabash cleaners. read more

I dropped off a pair of pants to have a hem taken out at 7 a.m. Tuesday. I asked if same day would be possible, and they said yes -- no problem! I go to pick them up at 4, they aren't done. Come back tomorrow, she tells me. Annoyed but needing to get moving, I said that would be fine but I need them by 9 a.m. "Of course," I'm told! So I show up Wednesday morning -- like 10 a.m. First they couldn't find them, then I see them out on a counter, one leg seemingly done? She doesn't know when the tailor will be back, doesn't know when they'll be ready. COOL. With one leg done, there's not much I can do at this point. I've been calling all morning to get an update, but no answer. Looks like I'm wearing jeans to the event I'm moderating tonight. Hopefully I can get my pants back some day. I know mistakes happen, but I can't get over the lack of communication/apology. Like, offer to call me when they're ready! Give me an actual ETA! In town on a work trip and I bring in some clothes. When I come to pick them up one of my shirts is missing. The lady said it had a stain that needed extra work. I didn't bring anything in with an particular stain. I have now gone back three additional times to pick up my shirt and they can't find it. They tried to give me someone else's shirt instead. My belief is that shoe repair is a highly under-used service. It is not easy to find shoe repair service and it is even harer to find someone you can trust. I took a pair of heeled boots in to Wabash Cleaners to be repaired (yes, they do shoe repair) and check this out: My boots are 6-7 years old and came out of that place looking brand new. You guys- I had a wardrobe malfunction. A big one. You know when it's raining and you try to get in a cab as quickly as possible, to keep your hair dry? *riiiiiiiip* My FAVORITE pencil skirt, now with 4" more slit up the back. It was scandalous. It was far too high. It was actually pretty chilly. After sitting on it in a meeting and trying to keep my backside against a wall as much as possible, I hightailed it to my office, locked the door and pulled out a stapler. Mission accomplished? Hardly. It held for a bit, but I knew a visit to the chiropractor later today wouldn't be happening in this getup. As I was walking to grab lunch, I happened upon Wabash Cleaners. I swear it was lit like the Holy Grail. There was no one else at the counter, so I showed off my skirt and asked if they could fix it on the spot. "Absolutely." I changed out of it, using my wrap to cover my legs while I sat and waited. They carefully removed my staple job and the little bit of glue I'd used to keep it from coming even more apart (I know. Glue on clothes. Rookie preschooler mistake.) and in about 10 minutes it was good as new! Glorious seam, holding tight, with the correct amount of slit up the back! Hurrah! My brother lives in the adjacent building and told me what a great place this was - and I am in total agreement! After my awful experience with Greener Cleaners, this is a welcomed relief. Everything is computerized, which is great if you forgot your ticket, you can pay by credit card (YES!), and on top of that, the people in here are super friendly! All my clothes have come back clean, wrinkle-free, and exactly the way I have asked - which is majorly important with those expensive specialty items. The prices are very reasonable as well (I have yet to try them for tailoring, but will update when I do) If you live in the South Loop and are in need of dry cleaning - check this place out! read more

So, this is the place that is the most convenient for us to go. It's under new management - however the service is hit or miss. For awhile we considered finding a new place - b.c we found ourselves re-ironing his work shirts. We also noticed at a point in time when my husband had mostly all new shirts the buttons were breaking - when we brought this to his attention he said something about he machines used, but that he'd fix it for a couple bucks.... it's like - No, these are new shirts you'll fix it for free.... hello customer service we are here each week. My husband was able to reason with him to not be charged - I however was not so lucky. It's just kind of annoying. With the new owner taking over the service is a tad slower - I used to be able to drop stuff off and get is back within 2 days - now he seems to push for 3. Also you receive a discount if you pay in advance I think 10%. I have not had tailor service or anything else so I can't speak to that. read more

We had a dry cleaner in our building and the owner retired. Wabash Cleaners was the next closest place and I am so grateful they are so good. I take our dry cleaning, I have had them repair shoes, boots and purses. They have done an alteration and replaced buttons. When the drycleaner they send stuff to began getting sloppy, I brought it to their attention and they haven't allowed it to happen since. I have told everyone in the building to make sure to try them. My next door neighbor is hooked. read more

I have been coming here for almost a decade now for general dry cleaning, shoe repairs, hemming, and other tailoring, but this past week I brought in two dresses that were in storage for 10 years- the white was so yellow and dingy...i didn't think it could be saved. These were two dresses I picked up at a sample sale in Madrid from a Spanish designer, so needless to say- i wasn't going to toss them. I thought to take them to Mr. Kim to see what he could do. I know there are a lot of dry cleaners around this area, but for some reason, I always find myself coming to this one. The manager is quite affable-- he introduced himself to me as "Kim" the first time I used his dry cleaners, and even remembered my name off the top of his head the second time I came back. This dry cleaner is surprisingly very good and quick with alterations and shoe repair. I've brought in a few pants needing adjustment and I have been able to get them back within a few hours. I had a dress that needed alterations done within two days. Every place I called turned it down due to the material of the dress and the short notice. I was a bit hesitant to Wabash Cleaners fix my dress, given some of the reviews I've read, but I'm so glad that my dress was in their hands. This place took it in and made it thinner and shorter. It was a backless dress with an intricate design on the back, and they fixed everything perfectly, all for under $50. I'm very impressed with their work and couldn't have been happier! read more

Wash and fold more like wash throw in a pile, half assed fold so you get back damp wrinkled clothes for $45, not worth the time or effort, got back clothes that weren't mine and my "rush job" was a day late, I would have been better off giving my laundry to a homeless guy to sleep on and it would have been in better shape than what these clowns did read more

I am in Chicago on business for a few weeks and instead of using the Marriott laundry service, I always attempt to support local businesses. This is the first time that it has bitten me. I took 6 dress shirts for dry cleaning as well as undershirts, tshirts, socks, boxers, and handkerchiefs for wash and fold. I asked for delivery to the hotel, which they normally do not do, but I offered to pay them 20 dollars cash to do so and they accepted. The clothing was delivered, but I am missing 2 undershirts, 2 tshirts, 1 pair of socks, 2 pairs of chinos, and all of my handkerchiefs. I called them on Monday February 10th and left a message (no response), and Tuesday February 11th, talked to a woman there who said she would have to call me back (still waiting). I am going over to yell at them later today (2/13/2014), this is over 200 dollars worth of clothing lost. read more

The customer service is just atrocious... On my first visit, I dropped off three jackets. I pointed out a stain on one (the stain got removed very nicely) and was told to pick them up Wednesday, the ticket I got said they'd be ready 5PM Tuesday. I come in Wednesday morning and only two of the jackets are there. I'm told "You were told they'd be ready Wednesday, they come in at 2PM." I pointed out what the ticket said and was just told, "You were told Wednesday." And well, it WAS Wednesday, so I'm not sure what his point was. If you want people to come after 2PM on Wednesday, tell them that, not to just come in sometime on Wednesday and give them a ticket that says 5PM Tuesday, and yelling at your customer for being confused... Well, I came back Thursday, and guess what, the jacket still wasn't there, then on Friday it still wasn't there and he said he'd check with the place they sent it off to, and thankfully it arrived Saturday, with no apology for the delay, nothing... The 2nd time I went I just dropped off three shirts. They all had minor stains on them and I pointed these out when I dropped them off. Unlike the previous time these weren't taped off like they were on my jacket, but I assumed they knew what they were doing. When I got the shirts back, the stains were still there, not any lighter at all, and no comment from them about what the issue is/was etc. and they hadn't seemed like they had been ironed either. So what exactly did I pay for? I gave them two chances, both were entirely unsatisfactory. They're in the same building as me, so I would LOVE it if they were any good, but they simply aren't. Long story short. I never dry clean (too scared to ruin my clothes) and for a good reason. I brought in 2 pairs of Sloan pants from Banana Republic. Loved them because they were comfortable, soft and stretchy! I told the woman there please becareful, since its a delicate fabric if there is too much heat on them they could get ruined. I pick them up days to find they both have that dreaded Heat shiny stain on the sides, my waistband, pockets zipper basically everything that presser touched and to make it worse there was some type of pink stain on the towards the bottom of one pant leg. They tried to blame me for all the damagage. I'm still going to get at least one pants worth of if back (89.50). Lesson learned if you have anything over 30.00 bucks and a delicate fabric dont come here. read more

I'm guessing it's hit and miss with some customers but all the infrequent times i use them, i am always happy. I will gladly pay more for cleaning here because i trust they will and always do a good job. I bring my friend very expensive coats here and they always clean it to perfection and are able to remove the various stains she gets on them. I have never had an issue with getting my clothes back timely and in a manner i approve of. Even though i don't remotely live but work by here, i will go out of my way for them. The owner and staff are always nice and after awhile they recognize you. Absolutely love this place. read more

Had to get two articles cleaned in one day. Came in at 9:00, they said after 5:00. Went back at 5:10, they had it ready. Good enough.

I have yet to find a good dry cleaner in the south loop and was looking forward to trying this place out. I brought my stuff in on 6/23 and it was promised to be done by 6/29. (6 days is plenty of time to dry clean a few pieces, right? WRONG). I brought in my only suit that I needed for an important business meeting the next day. When I called to make sure my stuff was ready as promised, I was told the "factory" had not returned the pants to my suit, and it would not be ready until the following day. It makes zero sense that they would promise that an item would be ready on the day their factory isn't even open. I spoke with the owner who was rude, flippant, and inconsiderate. He demanded that I pay for the 3 items that were ready on time, and did not offer any sort of discount for the MAJOR inconvenience this caused. I am now making an emergency trip to the department store to try to find a new suit for my meeting. Never trying this place again. Do not recommend if you are looking for a trustworthy, reliable cleaner. read more

I had a terrible experience with this cleaner. I spent a lot of time explaining that I just wanted a formal dress steamed for an event three days later. I explained that I wanted to creases taken out of the folds in the fabric to "poof" the bottom of the dress. When i went to pick it up just before the event, they had pressed the dress flat! The woman insisted that I pay $9 for the DISservice, and wasn't even apologetic about it. When I asked her to give me her business card, so I could make note of the business name, she refused and said she didn't want me to know the business name. I asked her for a receipt and she told me she would only give me a receipt if I paid in exact change. I can understand that mistakes happen, but it is all in the way a business handles a mistake and makes the customer want to trust them to do business again. Wabash Cleaners failed miserably at that. Now not only I will I never go there again, I want spread the word so that they understand what poor business practices can lead to. read more

Completely agree with the other reviewers on the terrible customer service. This dry cleaner ruined several items of clothing and as well as our drapes and refused to reimburse us for either. I should have learned my lesson when we first started going to this dry cleaner and he shrunk our new $400 nursery curtains by about 8-10 inches. He convinced us that the curtains were defective, and we had to take them back to Pottery Barn kids (who were nice enough to take them back). The latest episode in November involved three pairs of pants (two of which were brand new) and one new coat. I wore the new pants and new coat once on a business trip, then took them in for cleaning - when I got them back, I noticed the pants shrunk (especially in length and tighter around the waste), and the sleeves on the coat were at least two inches shorter. I took them back to the store right away, along with my receipts showing that I just bought the items and the how much I paid. It took almost two month to get a response from the owner - both my husband and I went numerous times, left our number, etc. and the owner was never around or available and no other employee could help us. I finally got a hold of him and went in and tried on the clothes to prove that they shrunk. After how long this had already gone on, I would have only expected him to apologize and refund my money, instead he blamed me and said my body must have changed/I gained weight, and even though the arms on the coat were clearly shorter, he didn't want to do anything. He said he had to talk to his sister and would call me back (of course he didn't). Went back today and compared one of the pants with a new pair and it was clearly shorter by two inches (this one pair I purchased from Banana Republic and had lengthened by one inch) . He just argued with us again, said I must have gained weight or bought my clothes too small, and Banana Republic cut my pants (crazy since I wore them after and they were perfect), and now refused to do anything. I asked for his insurance information so I could submit and claim and he first claimed he didn't have any, then said he would talk to them, but ultimately refused to give me the information. So, not only are my new clothes ruined, but the owner was incredibly insulting and this out for over two months. There are much better dry cleaners out there!! read more

BEWARE!!!! Dropped off laundry along with a Tommy Bahama shirt that needed dry cleaning. The shirt had a small stain. When I picked up the shirt the stain appeared to have "grown". When I asked the owner to try again to remove the stain he said no he didn't have time even though I am here on travel for the next four days. He also insisted I pay for the shirt. I can't imagine anyone writing a bad review on this place. I found it on yelp and needed to get a pair of jeans hemmed by mid day the next day because I was flying out. I walked in at around 5 o'clock, asked if it could be done...and the guy who i think owns the place said yes. While taking measurements...I realized I had a few items to dry clean. I ran home, picked up the dresses, brought them back...and he had already hemmed my jeans! Really outstanding service and a fantastic job. read more

This place is great. Guy was very helpful and to the point. Offers a discount for prepaying on shirts. If he misses a spot, you can take it back and he'll rerun it at no cost.
