I have Tide Cleaners lockers in my building, so I have used this service periodically for a few years. They used to generally be reliable, but the service has gone rapidly downhill recently. I submitted an order last week and left my clothes in a locker, and the clothes simply just sat there for a week, with no one coming to pick them up. I attempted to contact both Tide Cleaners and the cleaning company that actually services the lockers in my building, but received zero response from either. Thankfully, the code that I used to lock the locker also worked to unlock it, so I was at least able to get my clothes back. The app is also super buggy, and occasionally doesn't allow you to log into your account, so I would pass on this service. read more

I never imagined I'd be writing such a negative review about Tide dry cleaners in Oswego, but after dropping off my 2 x 3 and 2 x 6 rugs to be washed and being told that the total to get these two carpets cleaned is $200!! I was completely shocked! Now, these two rugs cost $149 when I bought them new, so in my experience with getting carpets cleaned at other dry cleaners, they warn you ahead of time that it will be insanely expensive!! What irritates me is that they don't measure the rugs you bring in; instead, they use "small, medium, and large" pricing. As a result, my 2x3 rug is listed in their system as a 3x5 rug, and my 2x6 runner is shown as a 6x9 rug! It's obvious price gouging! How can they charge that much and claim that the "company that they send the rugs out to cleaned pricing" is to blame rather than their own pricing? What an awful thing to do to a devoted client! I left a shirt in a locker and placed my order and apparently the app was on the fritz and it kept updating saying that I should expect the shirt the next day. This happened for about three weeks. As I approached the one month mark I called and they said the app wasn't working but they can get the shirt to me, prior to that they had not answered several emails. Now it's been about another two weeks and they kept saying they would reset the locker, or they would move the shirt to another locker, or they would pull the shirt from the locker and leave it at the concierge desk, but now at about five weeks my shirt is still being held hostage. I have probably called almost 10 times at this point. It is very much like when I hang up they just shrug and say who cares? Zero stars doesn't even say it. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Had a suit jacket shrink drastically. Brand new jacket worn once and then dropped into their locker services. Got jacket back and the arms were 3" shorter and extremely tight in the chest making the jacket unwearable. After contacting Tide with this issue, I was made aware of the 7 day timeframe they need once the apparel is received back for them to have any fault. After the 7 days, Tide is not responsible. If you are not wearing your suits every 7 days or checking your dry cleaning immediately you assume all risk for any deformities caused by Tide. read more

HORRIBLE: It's now 10 days and they didn't return my coat. Every time I email them, they apologize and give me a new excuse for not returning it. I now believe I'll not see my coat again. I'll find out where can I report them to the authorities. Don't use them if you care about your clothes and go to a local Cleaner. Use at your own risk. UPDATE 06/21/2023: They finally delivered my coat. I would not recommend or use their service again. They took my coat originally 05/31/2023 for dry cleaning. It was returned to me not well cleaned and had lint remaining on it. I gave it to them for reprocessing on 06/09/2023. Got it back on 06/20/2023 after it was delivered to the wrong locker address after a lot of messaging and apologies and stalling. I'll take my business somewhere local. Conclusion: A good business concept, but terrible execution. They should employ reliable staff who do their work with conscience and care. Mistakes happen but it's the way they handled the correction of the mistake that angered and upset me as a customer. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They ruined my expensive $500 coat. It shrank significantly. The sleeves are at least 2 inches shorter, the length is at least 4 inches shorter. It's impossible to talk to a person, there is no phone number, just a chat bot. I discovered it on my birthday and was very frustrated and almost cried - I really liked this coat and bought it thinking it's an investment and I will wear it for years because the quality was very good. It's unwearable now. And I highly doubt they will reimburse me anything. To the business owner who just replied. My first experience with the service was good which is why I came back to do my bedding with them. And it was HORRIBLE. Firstly, they changed the pillow covers to the worse quality ones, which caused them to spill feathers all over the place when I use them. They also mistook the pillow size when changing it, making my King size pillow into a Queen size pillow. Finally, the worst thing happen. They mistook our comforters with another person's blanket (and unfortunately, a much worse quality one) I tried to contact them but no Customer Support responded. I really don't know how to get my stuffs back to the original state. I wish I had never used them. I have Tide Cleaners in my building which I've been using instead of my usual service because of COVID and they tend to screw things up and every once in a while an item is missing. The reason I finally got on to review them is that I dropped off about 30 lbs (huge bag) of laundry almost two weeks ago in a locker, processed the request and have not seen my laundry since. They make it impossible to contact a live person so you have to go through their email system. I'm now looking into how to sue them for the approximate value of all of that laundry. I'll likely file a claim in small claims court. Don't use them. Do your own laundry or send it out. It's not worth it despite the convenience. Just to respond to the below response from Tide, I've been in touch with their team and they have asked me repeatedly if there are any unique or identifying items or brands in the lost order. It's a massive bag of laundry. Who would be able to name every item in weeks worth of laundry? Seriously, save yourself the agony that I'm going through and don't use this company. read more

BEWARE OF NEW OWNERSHIP! Brand new $425 skirt ruined, and only reimbursement was $116 worth of credits. Pressbox is now owned by Tide. I sent in a brand new suede skirt to be cleaned, called out in special instructions that it was leather and they still ruined the skirt by sending it through the normal dry cleaning process. Most of my clothing was either still stained or had wrinkles as well. The belt to one of my dresses hadn't even been dry cleaned at all. They also charged me extra for the belt, even though it went with the dress. One shift was missing a button. When I was escalated to claims, I was told they cold only reimburse up to 20x the price of the dry cleaning service. I provided them with a link to the skirt to prove it's worth, so they know I am not claiming it cost more than it actually did. I will change this review if I receive a fair reimbursement for the clothing they ruined. read more

I was excited to use their free service for COVID-19 front-liners and now deeply regret this decision. Almost half of the order went missing: like they ask you you to put a copy of your hospital ID in every laundry bag and they still manage to loose half of the order. Customer service is extremely slow and only through email. They asking for full list of missing items with links to websites - really? I spend an hour making this list for them more than $500 worth of clothes. Fortunately they managed to find my misplaced order. Tide Spin does a really great job with their wash & fold service. I've been very happy with the job they do and the drivers always show up when scheduled & are friendly. I've been using Wash & Fold services for a few years now at the same place religiously but just caught wind of Tide Spin two months ago. The big advantage? Pickup & Drop-off right from home. The disadvantage of that for me, having to be home for a two hour window. If you have a safe, enclosed area, you can leave your laundry for a pickup/dropoff at some point during the day. I have a porch but it's not covered and I'm just too worried the weather will change (Hello, Chicago!) unexpectedly and I'll come home to rained or snowed on clothes. So...I do the person hand-off of my clothing. The really only negative thing with Tide Spin is the pricing and very rigid schedules. They cost $1.59 per pound for wash and fold laundry. My regular place is $.79 per pound...so this is literally double the price. And for the pickup & drop-offs mentioned before for my location, it's either Tues or Thurs from 6-8pm or 8-10pm. It's not incredibly convenient but I can usually work around it. My friend lives in another area of the city and his pickup/drop-off days are Mon & Wed so YMMV. As long as they keep shooting me credits, I'll keep on using them. But once I'm paying full price out of pocket, I'll be back at my usual place. read more

Terrible, terrible experience. I have sent in a note to Tide Cleaners, but I will NEVER use this service again. I urge you to never send them anything you value. I usually am a "try at your own risk" even though I had a bad experience kind of person, but please do not send in anything of value. I did a DRY CLEAN order, and they WASHED three of my husbands wool shirts (one of which was vintage and gifted by my later mother-in-law). So while several hundred dollars in shirts are ruined (fine, just shirts after all), one can never really be replaced. They all shrunk obviously, and one also has a whole in the shirt. I did have a silk shirt and a suit come back fine. I even checked the tags when the shrunken shirts came back because I was wondering who in their right mind would wash a felted wool shirt... they all said "dry clean only." EDIT: Tide Cleaners has responded and they want me to send the damaged shirts back to them so they can be fixed. Why on earth would I trust them a second time?? I'd rather pay someone else to fix it then to have any free fix they are offering. read more

When I first moved to Chicago my laundry wasn't installed for my apartment yet so we decided to go with tide cleaners. This is a great service to use. This prices are perfect. My favorite thing about this is that they come pick up your clothes and bring them back so I never have to leave the apartment. The app they have is very easy to use. The clothes come back folded perfectly and smelling extra clean. Definitely recommend this to friends. read more

I have had nothing but issues with my order and there isn't a live person to call. First I couldn't access my locker, I sent an email about that. No one responded but the app let me know my order was ready in a new locker. I was able to retrieve my clothes but my shoes were missing. It's been impossible trying to track them down. It's not clear on the app that this Chicago location didn't clean shoes...I'm being told my shoes were possibly returned to the locker I couldn't access. The service agent is super unhelpful as they seemed to forget I couldn't access the original locker. Does anyone know how I get my shoes back or send them an invoice for my missing shoes?? read more

Update: On 1/19/17, I finally got a full update on what had happened. The supplier had my item on hold and was waiting for Pressbox to provide confirmation that my delicate item could be washed. I honestly don't know what's worse...that they sat on my item for over a month due to lack of communication and would not have known had I not been bugging them for almost 3 weeks or if they really lost my friends' items. Pressbox had been telling me they were contacting the supplier for at least 2 weeks. I don't understand how this was not caught in the 2 weeks that they supposedly was trying to communicate. Beware! The quote that they provide is not final. Not only did they not comp me for the inconvenience and stress for the past month, but they also charged me double what was quotes due to beading and never sent a final invoice. Very unprofessional. When I disputed it, they offered to give me a credit for a future order but I wanted a refund for the extra charges, which they eventually agreed to. Overall, I'm still rather unhappy about my entire experience and the way they handled the situation. I do not plan to use the 15% discount that they gave and also do not recommend using them but if you do, it's your gamble. read more

After my last review, TIDE Cleaners customer service reached out to me asking to help me to resolve the problem by offering to dry clean again the clothes that smelled (free of charge). At this point, my clothes had been fabreezed and aired out and the mildew smell wasn't as pungent as before and I was worried another session of dry cleaning with TIDE Cleaners would make it smell terrible again. I wanted to give TIDE Cleaners an opportunity though so I gave them the sweater (half of my original order) that still had a smell to it. Within 2 days, my sweater was returned to me with the mildew smell removed. It smells great! I'm so pleased with the service, from start to finish. I used Tide Cleaners because they are in my apartment building and super convenient. I've had consistent issues with the quality of my clothing once it comes back-- specifically white clothing. I've had multiple white shirts and even dresses come back a dirty gray instead of the original white bright. Customer service was pretty responsive but there hasn't been a resolution or explanation as to why my white clothes are ruined, yet. On my last order, I received a black Theory dress in my bag that wasn't even mine. I would be upset if I was the owner of that dress looking for it. Had a few things lost in route, called customer service, and Shalanda G. took great care of me and took care of the issue. She was so nice and so helpful, I actually felt bad calling in an annoyed mood by the end. All customer service should be trained by this individual. In my opinion, a dry cleaners is typically a dry cleaners. You get pretty much the same anywhere you go. However, for the ease of use and the excellent customer, I will continue to go back to Tide. Pressbox, I'm done! I'm a busy professional, and traditional dry cleaners are extremely inconvenient for me to use. I was happy to see Pressbox set up some lockers in my building and began to use them enthusiastically. Everything seemed to be going ok at first (though their ironing is very lazy/sloppy on buttons causing them to create indents in shirt fabric...and they lost a few collar stays, no big deal), but then the problems started. 1) The first issue I had with Pressbox was when I had them launder my comforter. It came back with lint, hair, dirt, and junk all over one portion of it. It looked like it had been dragged along a dirty laundromat floor after being washed. I took a photo (which I will find and upload to Yelp this weekend) and sent it to their customer service email. I got NO REPLY. #1 caused me to take a break from using Pressbox for a while. I recently decided to try them again. Big mistake! 2) I got the first batch I sent to them back and things seemed fine until one day I noticed a ripping sound on my left arm at work. I thought "this can't be good" and decided to examine the arm closely. It turned out that Pressbox's lazy and haphazard ironing had caused about a 1.5" long tear in the arm of my shirt...sort of near the elbow but not on the elbow. I know that this was caused by the ironing because there was a huge crease there. It was also discolored around the actual tear like they may have put some sort of adhesive on the tear to cover it up. Anyway, I had to walk around at work all day with a torn and discolored sleeve on my shirt. 3) Strike three! In the second batch I sent to Pressbox, they popped one of the buttons off the cuff. It's not the regular cuff button, but the small one slightly up the arm. This shirt was nearly brand new (had probably been washed 2-3x, no more) and came from Bonobos. The thread is all still in the sleeve and looks strong, so I can safely say that, again, Pressbox's ironing was sloppy enough to completely destroy the button itself. EDIT 5/21/2015: I should add that they actually destroyed BOTH gauntlet buttons on the shirt from incident #3. I didn't realize that until I was taking the shirt in to get it fixed. Maybe someone decided that the best way to unbutton a shirt is to simply tear it apart. Who knows. It's unacceptable. Anyway, after destroying one shirt, damaging another shirt, returning items after dragging them through dirt, NON-EXISTENT customer service, and being generally careless with their ironing practices, I am done. I will deal with the inconvenience of a regular cleaners to not have to deal with the ludicrous rate of damages and problems I have experienced with Pressbox. read more

I had used Pressbox a couple of times, and loved the convenience of it. They also seemed to take a lot of care in the items they were cleaning. Once, once of my dresses had a hole in it(that was already there), and they made sure I knew about it before processing. This last time I used them they destroyed two of my cashmere sweaters. One was almost brand new, and the other was an old favorite. After a few emails from an owner/manager(I'm not sure) saying that they would do 'anything' to make it right, I decided that replacing the sweaters would be the only thing that would actually 'make it right'. I never heard back after that, and they still charged me for the botched dry cleaning job. Oh! And they also tried to blame the sweater for shrinking!!! The new app upgrade has me listed with no order despite the email saying it was picked up. Now another week is here and I don't have any answer but we are looking into it. This company has the worst customer service ever. Voicemails and delayed email communication. Overall they don't listen even if the notes say it in caps. Just excuses and delays. I have used pressbox a couple of times now, the first time they lost my laundry tag and had to contact me about which laundry was mine. The second time went well. And the third time they put a hole in one of my dresses. They asked me to quickly put my dress back in the locker so that they could take care of the issue, of which they fixed up the dress. I've still been charged for the cleaning fee. Mind you, the hole was huge (see pictures). I have reached out to their customer service and asked at a minimum if they could reimburse me for the cleaning fee of my dress. The Tide locker service is unreliable and there's no human contact to solve my biggest problem that happened to me twice in a row---when my clothes were locked in the locker and I couldn't get the locker open. Days go by and still can't open the locker and no human contact to help me. Also, Tide advertises a 2-day turnaround on clothes, but after my clothes were locked inside a locker, the app told me a week turnaround. This also happened on more than one occasion. I cancelled the order, but then I couldn't open the locker to get my clothes back! I will never use Tide lockers again. And one can't blame the holiday. There were no signs or warnings about the so-called delay, and the Tide support and chat were UNHELPFUL. I didn't get a response. Please don't blame the holidays. While I still do not agree with their claim that 'most other dry cleaners put staples or tags through your item. Early customers said they prefer barcodes the most. These barcodes ensure we never lose any of your items, so they are especially helpful' as I have had experiences at other dry cleaners where they do not staple or put tags through my items, I have to give props to these guys for such personalized and attentive customer service. read more
