I was in a bind when I saw a straight nail in my pass front tire. I was concerned after driving a distance that it would pop. AAA no longer plugs, but I was told this place did in their reviews. What they didn't tell me is that they're is a age limit to determine whether it's worth or allowed to be plugged up. I was working remotely and desperately needed wifi so much that I cried. Someone was working on the router and the guest wifi was down. A gentleman gave me the workers wifi info so I could clock in for work. I ended up needing a tire fair priced (I compared while waiting). When I called ahead they said there was no wait, when I got there, I was told there was a 2 hour wait. I think I waited 45 minutes. I made an appointment for 2:30 on Monday July 7th, for 4 tires balancing, checked out at 4:30. First thing I noticed the dirty hand prints on my door, arm rest, I did have a towel over my front seat, thank goodness because this was completely dirty from the worker. I still left there with a slight vibration a little more than I came with. My actually complaint is how no one was willing to say anything or do anything about the hand prints on my tan leather. My husband always takes his car into here, and usually I am a dealership type. Well after he got his car back and they gave him another round of awesome service I decided what the heck I will just have them take a look at my suv. Paul and his manager really assisted me amazingly. Gave me a call, said it was just something minor with my tire, which I expected to have them say like most places "oh you need new tires" blah blah. Honestly why I dread taking my car in places. But let me tell you, Paul put my car anxiety at ease. He let me know it was minor, and if I wanted i could get new tires, but there was nothing truly wrong with them. I mentioned I wasn't sure if it was shaking a little /pulling and he said let me call you back I will personally go check it for you. I mean come on, that's quality service, most places would be like pulling teeth to have them go above and beyond. I hate to admit this, but my husband was right. This place rocks and is awesome. I understand why he goes when ever there is any car issues. He got his breaks, rotators done with an oil change and got it back in less than a day. (More so because timing of us picking it up.) but was done same day. Seriously can not recommend this place enough, the prices are amazing, you don't get pushed to do anything you don't truly need/want. They are up front about it and honest. It's been a while since I've been here. Gotten tires and rims plus other services from this location back when I first started driving. It's not that long ago, but long enough lol... Since we recently moved back to the area - This location is about a 5 minute walk from my home. Gonna miss the crew at Blanding. Had my truck serviced today. TPMS replacement, oil change and tire rotation. Noticed there was a lack of parking and holy moly were they BUSY when I came back to pick up my truck. Everyone that I dealt with was friendly. Not sure if it's a location thing , but they did not top off my fluid here. I've been going to Big Chief since I moved to Jacksonville 10 years ago. Today was the worst experience I've had due to customer service, i.e. the people at the counter. I had a flat and wasn't sure what caused it so I specifically asked to know what caused the flat before I replaced 1 tire instead of getting it repaired. Instead the tire was replaced without advising me. The shop was closing so the techs were crowded around the desk, nonchalant, not friendly, no eye contact, shrugging their shoulders when asked about the condition of the tire, they could totally care less about my questions - your customer. I simply walked out. I don't mind spending money when I need to but I won't spend my hard earned money with a business that could care less about customer service and presentation. People at the counter really need to get it together especially the guy with the beard, took them 2.5 hours to look at the tire and tell me they wouldn't patch it. Ive been coming here a long time and this was the worst experience, all due to the people at the counter. Went to Big Chief for the first time ever last week. I had a nail in the tire which is what they told me but this is not about the work they did. Seems like they did a good job (although today my tire sensor is on again but maybe due to temperature changes). Now my thing is that they stole something off my passenger seat. What was in the bag didn't even total to $6!!!!!! Petty. And upon further review I notice a cable for my iPhone charger missing. I didn't notice till I got home. I called as soon as I realized but the guy on the line didn't seem too engaged or didn't seem like he cared much. Maybe cause it was petty theft. Told me until they "find it" they would do something about it. To be honest I didn't even call back the next day to see if they "found it". Sucks that a first experience was this. But if u go here just be aware or your property. Better not leave anything of value like an iPad or something cause if something inside a plastic bag that didn't even total to $6 and a used iPhone cable was taken i cant imagine if they saw something of value. read more

Family owned tire company, I liked how they made me feel welcomed when I entered. They were pretty busy for a Monday. (when I walked in) I had a slow leak on one of my tires. Although, I was a walk-in they were able to help me right away, which I really liked. They had to replace my tire with a new one instead of repairing it. We purchased a set of tires about a year ago for my husbands Chevy 2500HD. We paid for the warranty and the road hazard. My husband has had to make multiple trips back because of leaking tires and was told they were fixed only to have to return days later with the same issue. One tire had to be replaced due to an unrepairable damage. Well this past Friday my husband had vibration start so he dropped the truck off. Per a text message he was informed that 3 out of the 4 tires were separating. This is occurring due to the fact that we were sold tires that are not rated for a heavy duty truck (all in text). Per the text message they offered to replace all 4 and charge us for the mount and balance $70 plus tax and we pay for the protection plan for new tires $95.04. My husband spoke to the gentleman at Chief this morning and he informed him that it will be $423 in addition the the $80. So at this point they will be charging us around $500. Confused as to how this could be since they recommended the brand new tires and they placed the tires on the truck and we paid for the warranty about a year ago that the total could be that much. The gentleman Charlie at the Phillips hwy location didn't want to take responsibility that his company made a mistake. We don't work in the tire industry and we rely on the "professionals" at a tire store to direct us in the purchasing of the correct tires. They even warrantied them. Come to find out they are trying to charge us $50 per tire since they drove for 30,000 miles. They recommended the tires that could have killed my family if they did separate on the highway. Not for nothing but my husband made a trip over 200 miles this past weekend pulling an over 9,000 pound trailer. Luckily he was borrowing a friends truck since ours was at the tire shop - blessing that my husband didn't chalk up the vibration as a balance issue and took it in. read more

had an absolute horrible experience at the location on normandy and i would not recommend anyone to take thier car there at all. for starters on 2/11/22 i attempted to purchase 2 front wheel tires and a front end alignment. i was told that my car would not hold the alignment so i just got the tires, for $300 dollars. well in the process i was told that i needed a rack n pinion, a tire rod, a cv axle, and a front end alignment to fix the problem i was having with my tire get ate up so, i brought my car early 3/14/22 monday morning i was told my car would be ready aon tuesday afternoon well to my surprise i was called on monday afternoon aand told my car was almost ready just give them 30 minutes so i got there about 4:15 and then was told oh they haven't done the front end alignment yet and that it would be a few minutes. i didn't end up leaving til they were about to close so, i left and my car felt or rode no different than it did before i took it to them $1700.00 dollars later i called the next morning as soon as they opened and spoke with aiden and explained i was not pleased with the services and he told me to bring it back so they could check it out. now here's where it gets interesting i watched the gentleman put my car on the rack and walk around and around as if he was looking to see what was wrong then he called over paul and another gentleman to look up under my car. i'm still trying to figure out why it took 3 of them to look under my car and if in fact they had done the work that they were supposed to do then that wouldn't have been necessary and i believe with everything in me that they did not do the work that i paid them for. so this went on for a while finally paul went back in the building and i saw he ask katie where i was and she looked right in my face and said outside.i i went back in the building and here comes the snow job. paul then tells me that it might me riding bad because i need front break pads and rotors as well as struts and motor mount, which was funny to me because break pads, or rotors don't make your car vibrate even funnier none of this was mentioned when i purchased the 2 new tires and that was when you would have seen all this clearly but, it was never mentioned until i told them i was not pleased with the service then he gave me an estimate for all of the things he stated might be the reason why my car would be vibrating and it was $3800.00 why would i ever give them that amount when they weren't forthcoming with my $1700.00 and this is the ultimate kicker the 2 tires i purchased from them were the wrong size and paul tired to stll get some more money out of me by saying you really need 4 tires and i stated not going to happen so, he said they would eat the cost of the tires and if i wanted the correct tires they would order them well duh why wouldn't i want the right size tires so i hd to go back up there wednesday and them put on. i asked him if the put my 2 new tires in the front and he stated that it's recommended that the best tires go in the back in case of a fishtail well that would be great for someone else but, my car is a front wheel drive car so, my new tires should have been in the front. i'm going to another shop to have them look at the work that was supposed to be done and if they find that it wasn't i will be taking legal action because i don't have any money to give away. to sum it all up i will no go back here ever and i wouldn't recommend anyone here under any circumstances. like i told paul i feel like i was sold a rack n pinion when i didn't need it and his response was you did need it we just needed to look a little deeper for all of the other repairs they claim i needed this is poor service at it's best. services: steering & suspension repair, tires, front end alignment, rack n pinion, tire rod read more

Great tire service in Jacksonville. I was in from out of town and wouldn't you know it that I ran over a nail. Not cool. This place is the best! I purchased 4 Michelin tires from here and have never had any issues. I got a nail in my tire, and unfortunately they were closed so I went to Tires Plus (huge mistake). After dropping my car off, I received a call 3 hours later, and was told the nail pierced through two spots, and that it couldn't be repaired and that I would need to purchase a new tire. I told them not to worry about it because the tires I have are barely a year old and that I would go over to Big Chief to purchase this new tire.The next afternoon I went to Big Chief, and within 20 minutes they had fixed my tire and laughed when I told them that Tires Plus told me I needed a new tire. Apparently two small nails were in my tire, one popped out as soon as the service guy pushed on it and wasn't even leaking air, and the other nail was pulled out no problem but had a small leak which they quickly patched. Also, not only did Tires Plus straight up lie and try to take advantage of me, but they also stripped one of my studs that Big Chief was almost unable to remove, and once they did remove it, it broke and Big Chief is replacing it for me for free with no issues. I shouldn't have even bothered taking it anywhere else, and I will be going to Big Chief from here on out, lesson learned! read more

If you have a problem with a tire you bought here don't expect any help from these guys. I bought 2 tires from Big Chief Tire on Normandy Blvd.. One of the tires had a tread separation ( a manufacturing defect ) and I returned the tire to BCT for an adjustment. BCT told me the tire was worn out but the wear bars on the tire had not yet received any wear. BCT did not measure the remaining tread as I had expected, but simply made a visual estimate, as though he could see 1/64 of an inch just by looking. I felt that the tire had about 50% of the tread left, however, the tread was not measured. I paid more than $100 for the tire and I felt the adjustment should be about $50. BCT told me that there was more than 50,000 miles on the tire, but tire wear is not measured by mileage but by the amount of tread worn off. I was allowed only $15 for the remaining tread and BCT acted as though he was doing me a big favor by allowing that much. I am very disappointed with the adjustment and I feel that I was cheated or at least treated unfairly. read more
