I hired Big Blue Moving based on a networking referral and the quote that I received to move from a two bedroom apartment on the third floor into a three bedroom apartment on the second floor seemed reasonable (approx $500 for about 5 hours) if I was prepared and had everything packed. I even took it one more step and moved all the packed boxes into the front room and the only thing they had to take apart was my couch. Dylan S. and Dallas showed up and were two young guys that I thought could have moved all of that in 5 hours with no problem. But then as I was talking to them they acted like it was going to take a lot longer than that and said that they were looking closer to 7-8 hours. That kind of surprised me and I was told that one box takes just as long to load as a whole dresser. So my husband and I said okay well we will carry all the boxes down for you. So my husband and I carried all the boxes that were packed down and stacked them outside the truck while they loaded the furniture. Needless to say the loading process alone took 4 hours (half of which they spent trying to load my belongings in the truck like puzzle pieces because he was afraid the truck would not be big enough to make it in one trip-which we ended up having a whole third of the truck left over at the end that was empty). Then of course my husband and I helped again unload the truck and that took another two hours so my total bill ended up at almost $700 and that was with my husband and I helping the entire process. I don't think I know anyone that would want to pay $700 to have someone move their belongings after they prepared and packed everything themselves AND had to personally help the ENTIRE time!!! Dylan & Dallas were extremely nice guys but I think they could have worked a lot quicker and could have taken less breaks and gotten me moved within that 5 hour window for sure and I would have been completely happy. I tried to call the person that gave me my original "estimate"(I was made aware that there is a difference between an estimate and a quote) because apparently they don't really have any idea how long it should take to move someone because I was told that there was nothing that she could do and that they give estimates not quotes for a reason. So please beware when you are given an estimate that it could end up being a lot more than that. Had my husband and I not helped load and unload ourselves it would have probably cost double my original "estimate"!! So please beware when hiring Big Blue because they are not always accurate with their original pricing!! read more

We recently hired Big Blue Moving and couldn't be happier with the level of service they provide to their customers! We recently sold our home in Union. I contacted Big Blue Moving . The only day that was open was June 28 which was the day of our closing. I explained to Nathaniel that we had to be at our closing at 2:00 and had a bedroom set to go to our son's house just a street over, a family room set to go to our daughter's home in Florence, and quite a bit of furniture to go to our new townhome in Alexandria which included two bedroom sets, my den furniture, a patio table and chairs, a solid oak roll top desk, and other items. I thought there was no way all this furniture could be moved before the 2:00 closing in Florence. He said he would would have two trucks and four men arrive at 8:00, an hour earlier than when they typically begin a move. They arrived right on time and started moving the furniture. The movers were highly competent and very pleasant. They got the entire move done in four hours at a very reasonable cost. which gave me time to go back to Union to load the last of the items into both our cars and make it to our closing. More than impressed with this company and its employees! The place I moved from, and the place I moved to, have about 60 stairs combined, which meant A LOT of up and down for the movers. When they arrived, there were only two, and both are of average build, so I thought to myself (these two are not gonna last 1/2 the day). Was I ever wrong! Not only were Jonathan Sharp & Austin Crank a couple of work horses, Austin never stopped smiling and Jonathan was extremely professional. The last couple of hours, their exhaustion was evident, but they never stopped. I'm sure this company has many great employees, but these men are 10/10 and I would recommend them a million times over! Life has been interesting. I have hired movers 5 times in the last 2 years. With saying that, I think I am becoming a pretty good judge of moving companies. Big Blue is your winner. They check all the boxes. They were quick to respond, courteous , and knowledgeable. They did a great job on the estimate. I had things in 3 storage units that I need organized and combined into 1 climate controlled unit. Oh My, they were great. They worked steady and hard but not aggressive so not to damage my belongings. I don't have words to explain what a great job they did. My storage unit now looks like a Jenga puzzle. Highly recommend Big Blue Moving company! J R Sullivan & Michael M ( Not N) did an amazing job with my move yesterday . They were patient, helpful and didn't complain at all about my heavy/awkward furniture that was not easy to move up and down staircases and in the rain. They were careful with my furniture and wrapped everything so it did not get wet. They were extremely careful moving each piece as to not damage my walls, door frames, etc. There was no damage to any of my items or the new home. They were super easy to work with, answered questions before and during the move. Moving can be very stressful. Picking the right moving company was also stressful. Will they show up? Are they careful with my stuff? Will they work hard? Are they dependable? The answer is: YES! When they showed up, my stress melted away. Brandon, Joe, Miguel, and Rae'von were absolutely stellar. We hired 2 trucks for our 4 bedroom house + garage/basement. They arrived at 9am. By 1145, they were ready to go. I even asked them if they could pick up a sectional that arrived from the furniture store, and they did! They had their lunch and traveled from the west side to the east side while we closed on our house. At 130, they arrived with the new sectional as well. By 330p, they were done, everything in the house, and the job completed. These guys were amazing. Big Blue Moving did an amazing job. I was caught in a difficult situation when the moving company I hired, 3 weeks before my move, didn't show up on moving day. After that same company didn't show up the morning of the second day (when they guaranteed me they'd be at my place first thing in the morning). I decided to call around looking for another mover. Big Blue Movers are sent straight from Heaven. I had another company scheduled and they cancelled on me less than 24 hours before my move. To say I was in a panic is an understatement. I called about 23 places listed online near Cincinnati and it was a friend who recommended on Facebook BBM. They reached out less than 30 minutes from when I frantically called. We're able to accommodate my 3 mile move the next day, last minute and on the first of the month! Not only that, they had the best customer service and competitive pricing. I felt very confident that I had made the right choice after having a smooth and thorough phone conversation with the dispatcher. They quadruple checked to make sure they got everything, confirmed the little details people tend to forget, made sure everything ended up exactly where I wanted it to and how I wanted it. I only had a few items that need to be moved back into the the house from the garage after we did our hardwood floors. Jason and Skylar were right on time and did a great job asking questions about where I wanted things. They were so careful to not drag or slide any furniture on the new floors. I felt like they were even more careful than I would have been. They took the time to make sure they got things centered so that I wouldn't have to try to move things by myself later. They even redid my huge mattress until it was just right. There is no way I could have moved it or even adjusted it myself. I cant say enough about how great these guys were at moving my things. I could not ask for a better set of young men to move us and a better experience in moving. Big Blue Moving with Christian B. and Michael B. helped alleviate all our worries after living in our home for nearly 30 years. We had a tremendous amount of furniture and some of it was extremely heavy. These 2 young men handled all of it carefully; wrapping and protecting each piece. We also had delicate pieces too. All of them were moved and none of them were damaged. Christian and Michael were also extremely polite and pleasant to talk to.
