Had positive experiences with Junk King in the past but this time, the two man team decided they couldn't manage 3 of the 4 appliances we wanted removed from the basement. They promised to get back to us with a plan for 4-5 guys and a saw to cut things up. When we did not hear from them, we called. They apologized and assured us they still wanted the job but a supervisor would have to call us back to make an appointment for more than 2 guys. We waited a total of 10 days without a return call, then hired a different company. Got an estimate on a Friday, new company sent a 2 man team on Monday. Removed all of the remaining appliances plus items in a storage unit 5 miles from our house, all for over $100 less than Junk King told us they would charge just for the remaining appliances. It has now been 2 weeks and Junk King still hasn't called us back. read more

A Junk King driver blatantly drove into my front yard over the weekend just being lazy and not wanting to make a correct turn-around. Probably shows the work ethic of this particular driver as well as the company. I would never use this company if they drive in people's yards just to same time and hoping the home owner isn't around to catch them. My realtor set me up with Junk King and they were wonderful. They sent pictures before and after, clearly communicated about times and updates. We used their services to haul out the junk from my mother in laws home after she passed. Their website says they take hazardous waste like old paint etc. I was willing to pay them extra for it. But they declined to take it saying they no longer do it because their trucks catch on fire. So here we were all ready to leave town but had to find a place to dispose of it fast. As we were doing some spring cleaning, we had made attempts to sell as much of our old furniture, electronics, items etc that we could POSSIBLY get rid of. I initially called to get a price quote so I could consider services (I wasn't sure we'd actually need them) BOY am I glad we had them come out! Within 2 hours a few guys arrived and we put them to work. We ended up filling their entire truck with trash. At one point, a paint can burst open on the driveway (be aware they do NOT take paint). It was our fault but the guys were pretty remorseful even still. They did their jobs, even though they weren't expecting us to have so much stuff. Junk King was great to work with. They arrived as scheduled and called 30-minutes before arriving to give me a heads up. It was a 2-person team. They wore masks for COVID and were very respectful and business appropriate. They reaffirmed their price, which is based on the space used in their truck bed. The truck space is 12' x 8' x 5' tall. They stack it all the way up to the top and really try to maximize the space. They would re-stack as needed and move items around to get as much on the truck as they could. It was $625 to fill the truck plus $5 per latex paint can if it's still in liquid form. I had 5-cans so overall it was $650 and they accept credit card on the spot using a cell phone and hand held card reader. They couldn't get one large braided rug to fit in the truck but I understand that they cannot extend over the top. I can deal with the one rug as they saved my back from a lot of heavy items. I'd definitely recommend them and hire them again. This was a house clean out at my dads house and they made this part of the project seamless. Really nice guys and please don't forget to tip if you like the work they do. It's not required, but thoughtful for those who go above and beyond on the job. read more

The company was very responsive to my request for a quote on Yelp, so it was a good first impression. The guys who came out the first time to do the attic and basement we're on time and very professional (and packed more in that truck than I thought was possible). Then, the COO actually came out for the second quote, and was great. The crew who removed the outside stuff also did a great job, but I didn't meet them. Junk King just left my house and I'm so happy. Titus and Chris did an amazing job. They're my heroes, worthy of the title of king. I had a washer that was a very tight fit through the corners and spaces of my older house, and they worked so hard and didn't give up even when it was difficult. The process of setting up the appointment was easy, as well, and the pricing was clear and fair enough. My only suggestion would be to management: get your amazing, hardworking guys some more flexible equipment. There are a ton of older houses in Cincinnati with narrow doorways compared to modern ones, and shoulder dolleys might help. read more

I had two appliances removed on 1 days notice, they give you a 2 hour window with driver calling when he's 15 minutes out, so from the time the driver called me till the time they were done and gone was 30 minutes, that's as good as it gets will recommend to all I know. read more

I paid them and went inside to clean my house because we were moving, I came back out and they were gone and had left about 65% of the stuff in my garage that i paid them to remove. Everyone I came into contact with was responsive, polite and timely (even a bit early) but their process for determining a cost is unknown, leaving a customer to wonder if the price is fair. Basically a crew shows up at your door, looks at your job and throws out a price. In my case, I started with a small pile of left over lumber and railing from a shed repair I had done earlier. The entire mess wouldn't fill up the back of a small pick up. I moved the entire pile to the end of my driveway, giving the crew easy access from the street in which they could toss it in their truck with ease. Upon their arrival, the driver looked at the job and gave me a price that was three times what I've paid a previous (although independent hauler) to remove debris. It wasn't Junk Kings minimum price as advertised on the website so I couldn't understand how he came to a price at all. In the end, I needed the debris out of my driveway so we agreed upon a price but I'd recommend that any person considering the use of their service should ask some very direct questions about how they determine a price for a job. Otherwise you feel sized up as to what you can afford or tolerate. read more
