They gave us a free estimate, Nelson looked over our pool and told us what to expect. They chipped off our tiles, sanded down the existing bottom. We picked out the new bottom surface (mini pebbles aqua cool) and waterline tiles. They installed everything in a timely manner and answered all questions. Lien, who is the office manager, communicates effectively and promptly. We are still in the "start up" phase of balancing chemicals and haven't been able to swim in it yet, but it's been a pleasure working with this company. Highly recommend.

When they first arrived they had the audacity to park their truck on our front lawn and wanted to mix the PebbleTec 'knock off' product while parked on the lawn! I told them to get the truck off of the lawn but they still ruined a large part of my front lawn when they hosed off the their buckets, wheel barrel and tarp On the grass. The cement and or chemical materials killed the lawn In one area. The crew also dumped buckets of some liquid (diluted acid?) into my flower beds and killed a few plants. The entire process was a complete f'up. They put down a few pieces of new sod in our front yard but it all died. They also put in a new plant to replace the one that they killed with diluted acid(?) that they poured in the flower bed by the pool. That plant died soon after and another one I planted there died too. When we were able to use the pool we noticed that the surface of the pool was so rough and sharp that it actually cut our feet and we ended up having to use water shoes so our feet dint get cut. Bottom line.. I would not recommend Nelson Pools to resurface your pool.

Ocean Blue has been buying routes from good small businesses and taking over regular services at a higher cost to the customer and leaving chemical levels unbalanced and pool not fit to swim in. Technicians are not trained properly. There's a high turnover of employees because they are not happy working for this company. Ocean Blue has not taken proper care of our 4 year old pool since they bought this route last October. Our pool has been so out of wack that the pool is permanently stained because of their neglect. We have made attempts for months over the phone and in person to get them to fix it but in the end, they want us to pay thousands on top of what we've paid monthly to get our pool back to the way it was before they started servicing it. No thanks. 6 pool guys and terrible customer service for management.

Despite hiring a company that was supposed to oversee and coordinate the build, there was little to no project management provided. Nearly all of the work was performed by third-party subcontractors, and there was no meaningful follow-up or quality control from the company. Instead of proactively managing the project, they relied on us to identify problems, report issues, and continuously follow up for corrections. Even when legitimate concerns were raised, getting items repaired or completed properly felt like pulling teeth. Communication and accountability were lacking throughout the process. The most frustrating part was the disconnect between the sales process and the actual experience. During the sales pitch, they told us everything we wanted to hear and presented themselves as a full-service company that would handle the project from beginning to end. In reality, we found ourselves acting as the project manager, quality control inspector, and customer service department. If you're considering this company, be prepared to closely monitor every phase of the project and advocate for yourself at every step. Based on our experience, I would not use them again and would not recommend them to others.

Worked with the sellers of the house based on this pool inspection and recommended pump replacement and caused a LOT of lost sleep over the course of 4 days. I received no apology from the company for a lack of report notation (no power to the pump at time of inspection) and no refund of my $225 inspection fee (that was my simple request). What I did receive was a note that said they felt that they did the right thing on the inspection so there is no refund. For the inspection fee of $225, they want to insist on being right instead of erring on the side of the customer. I won't be using them in the future or recommending them. Buyer beware. This mode of customer service speaks volumes.
