We rented a motel room with two queen beds at Big Bend Resort earlier this week for an early Father's Day river trip. Very happy we went with the motel room over a campsite. The weather is way too hot for a tent this time of year and it was really nice to have an a/c, full size fridge, microwave and private bathroom. The motel room itself is very bare bones; you will need to bring your own blankets & pillows and mattress is thin and firm on a simple metal frame. But everything was clean and in working order. It worked out very well. I especially loved that they had a picnic table right out front for us to utilize. A short walk down the street, there is a really cool restaurant, arcade and beach down by the water, complete with umbrellas, tables and even a kiddie pool. In the opposite direction, a bit further away, there is a large pool and jacuzzi...but we preferred to swim and hang out by the river. There was wifi but it only worked sometimes. We didn't really have any service during our stay; a forced but much needed reprieve from the outside world. Overall, we really enjoyed it. The views of the river and mountains are unmatched. We would definitely stay here again. read more

This review only pertains to the storefront and restaurant, we did not stay here. Despite being VERY busy with restaurant orders, they accommodated our large party with wonderful communication and service. The pizza is great and my son says they have the best breakfast. The arcade is fun for the kids and the store is very convenient. If you're planning a trip, make sure to call to see what days the restaurant is open, I believe they're usually closed at least 2 days a week. read more

This is our home away from home fornthe summer. Awesome beach right on the colorado river in Parker just a short drive up the road to see the Parker Dam. They have a newly remodeled restaurant with a great selection of food. The new pool and spa area are amazing, especially at night to just chill afyer spending all day at the beach in the sun. They have a boat launch, a dock with fuel for watercraft, and some great fishing areas. The store offers everday necessities as well as cold drinks and basic food options if you are cooking your own meals. Parker is only about a 20 minute drive. read more

The good: location is amazing. Best spot on this stretch of the river in my opinion. Beautiful scenery and current isn't bad for the little ones. The bad: where to start. First the 50 amp RV spaces are a joke. We have been here now for a month and a half and every single day the power goes out at least 4 to 6 times. If you have animals this is no good. We are burning lots of fuel in our generator and I will be canceling the last month of our summer stay. Everyone that we have talked to is disgusted with the joke of an electrical grid they have here. Their excuse, you all need to conserve power.... We are literally down to one ac unit and no lights just to try and not trip the main electrical box. Until they get a clue here and upgrade like most of the other parks have I would stay somewhere else. read more

the owner is a rude asshole who hung on me 2 times when i tried to exolain my sitution. i understand overnight parking isnt allowed on the docks. but when the boat didnt start and my hisband had been air lifted to a las vegas hosp due to kidney failure i asked if i could leave his boat there for 1 hour so i could get someone there to move it for me. that owner told me "no, he didnt want to hear any excuses and i have 15 mon to get my boat out of there!" and hung up on my.... he then called the cops so when my friend was there to move boat the coos show up. cops were understanding but the owner will never get out busimess again! he was rude and had no compasion for what i was going through. i was only asking for 1 hour so i could get the boat moved. he is a dick read more

when reservations were made they never informed me of their two week prior to my stay cancelation policy and I couldn't make it to my reservation due to having Covid. I called a week before my reservations to try and cancel and that's when I was informed about the two week policy. read more

The restaurant here is the worst place I have ever been. The service was horrific. They lost our order and denied they did. Asked for our food to go after we waited an hour. This is really a beautiful place to stay. There are RV sites on the river or you can opt for one on a back row. You can pull thru the sites and then unhook on most. The park is clean and lots to do. The beach is the highlight though. There's even a restaurant with great food. Great spot. Great place to stay. The major downside is that even though they have wifi, we are showing no bars and can't connect. read more

We called and made new reservations with a new girl first off. Once we got there to check in it was all messed up. For the price we were not told no pillows or blankets are supplied. It area is beautiful but the rooms are in some sad shape. I had to make a deal with the bugs to not mess with us while we slept. The sheets were nasty. Thankfully our company had some we could use. Very disappointed in our stay and that we were not prepared or told that we needed those essentials to sleep. O and the beds are hard as rocks . Definitely will be checking out other places nexts time. read more

This campground is a great place for families because it's in a little cove and all the amenities are close by. Brand new pool, updated store and has a gas dock. Got into town early on Thursday. I paid a $30 early check-in fee. Went to my room A7, it was hot. I'm not sure what was hotter outside 110, or inside my room. Long sorry short my room NEVER cooled down. On our last night, Saturday the power was going off and on all night. The last time was around after midnight. It was a horrible night, especially because I have a toddler. I will never stay at this campground again. read more

Oct 2022 was our first year staying here at Big Bend Resort. For the last 20 years our family has stayed at Echo Lodge (just down the street) but after deciding to try something cleaner and friendlier we took a chance on Big Bend! What a GREAT choice! I am not sure where to start. We rented one of the small modular homes back behind the bar and my parents rented a small modular home on the waterfront (pic below). The first thing that strikes me is the cleanliness of the park. The bathrooms, showers, the grounds, and even the laundry room (has a coin machine) are super clean. The staff does a great job cruising the grounds for trash and debris to keep things looking great. The staff (Lisa and her family) do a great job welcoming guests and making sure they have everything they need to check in. Including responding to my incessant emails before we arrived and making sure we got checked in okay when we arrived late in the evening. Upon arrival our unit was super clean (and I am OCD) and the staff made sure to have the refrigerator and AC on for us. It was so nice to arrive to a cool, clean and ready to be used unit when getting in so late. Our stay was Awesome! The park was peaceful, relaxing but still so much fun. The views are stunning! Even though our unit was setback into the park a row, we had a full river view out our slider. The bathroom was clean and our bed was super comfortable. We had tons of storage and great amenities in the unit. The AC worked fabulous and everything in the unit worked. We even had cable TV!!! The pool area is the best! The pool area had tables, umbrellas, and it was the perfect temperature. The showers and bathrooms were super clean there too. We spent a whole day at the pool just to break up our trip. They also have a newly upgraded restaurant/bar/arcade. It has free Wifi and the food was so good! The staff was so nice and helpful, there was a huge variety of food choices, the prices were good and it was the perfect spot to let the kids play in the arcade while we had wings and watched the Padres game (go Padres!). The restaurant/bar/arcade had a small amount of groceries (a lifesaver) and had TV's and drinks inside and outside. They had misters on the patio too in case you opted to enjoy the heat outside. The park was pet friendly and everyone was so nice. They didn't have any huge grass areas for the dog but our puppy was fine tinkling on the rocks and sticks she found on our walks. Just a quick note, our group all had Verizon phone service and we didn't have a single bar of service while we were in the campground BUT we brought walkie-talkies for quick chats between our groups and then we would go down to the bar and get on Wifi whenever we needed to. We had such a great time that we have already re-booked for next year and I hope we can continue to come to Big Bend Resort every year! Thank you to the staff who made our stay so great! read more

This place is always busy. We have never camped but our cousins love the RV Spots on the River front. The arcade is the best on the River and my kids always beg to go. The restaurant kitchen is CLOSED ON TUESDAYS (possibly Wednesdays) but you can still purchase the convenience store items. The employees are friendly and helpful. The young girl with the pixie -ish hair cut was especially helpful and personable the last time we were there. read more

Did not stay at the resort. Stayed at the campground across the Colorado river. We frequented Big Ben restaurant because the pizza and ice cream are the best. Never found the men behind the counter very friendly. But we weren't there to make friends, just eat pizza and drink beer. read more

Made reservations a month ago, they made me prepay. I've called quite a few times to confirm and ask about room amenities. They won't answer the phone and won't return my phone calls. We'll see how our trip turns out when we go next week. A little nervous we are traveling a long distance and such awful customer service before we even arrive. I'll be updating this review and let you all know how things go. Update: while on our way to Big Bend resort Friday, we received a call from the resort about check in process and the amenities included in our reservation. A little late , since we didn't know if we had 1 or 2 beds in our room. We did have a kitchenette, with microwave, a frig , sink and a coffee maker. The room was clean, the room ac worked good. Had room ceiling fans. There were no toiletries so bring your own hand soap, shower soap, and shampoo. Our motel room was about 300 feet from the water. The motel was surrounded by mobile homes. There was also plenty of rv parking with full hookups. The resort is about 10 minutes form the windmill resorts. There is a store on site for ice , snacks, drinks, and supplies. There aren't any restaurants for about 15 min. So pack food and beverages. Clean and basic so don't expect a lot. It does feel like a desert motel. We came for the Parker River float which was an awesome time. read more

Everyone kept hyping up the pizza so we decided to give it a try, an hour later and they forgot about our order. Yet three families who ordered after us got their pizza. And our family is Mexican and those who got their food before us we not families of color. They didn't even give us plates for the pizza??? By far the best Resort in the whole Parker strip it is so fun to just hang out there. There are beautiful views of the river. There is this rick where you can swim to and jump off off it is kinda sketchy to get up there but once your up there you have a good views and then you jump into the water. The customer service is great they treat us so good. Up by the store they have a park. It has a few slides and it is ok. The slides burn you when it's hot. They also have a dog park. The dog park is kinda worn out. Big bend is by far one of the most wonderful places on the Parker strip. read more

Wonderful place to stay while at the river! I've been coming here since I was a little girl & the place has just improved over time. Awesome riverfront camping spots, on a nice low key part of the river so it's perfect for kids & just hanging out swimming all day! The staff are extremely laid back & aren't all in your business the entire time. They have a restaurant, arcade, nice park for kids & dog park & they are building (what looks like) an amazing pool area. For the price & location you cannot beat Big Bend! read more

This is our second summer to rent a place at this resort. We rented this spot from June 1 through September 1, 2019. It allows us to keep our things here during that time frame and come and go as we can. We live 3+ hours away. On August 24, after a two week break. We arrived to find rats had infested the place. There was a dead rat stuck to a sticky pad under the kitchen sink. Which explains the unpleasant odor we experienced the prior trip but could not place. Lois Rose, resort manager said they did not place the sticky pad and have never had a problem with rats before. So where did that sticky pad come from? Do they not clean these places between guests? Six calls later, two of which I spoke to Lois Rose and I was told she would get back to me. We have been ignored. As long as there are no issues, this place is great. The minute you have a problem, they could care less! We lost two weeks of a paid reservation and family time. read more

They have done a wonderful job developing this old property and bringing it into the 21st century. Great restaurant and arcade facilities. Neat little store and boutique. The cooling water feature on the patio and the new bar on the waterfront are terrific. Nice that they moved the amenities from Buckskin over to Big Bend. Best pizza on the river! read more

Don't know much about their resort, but their restaurant is excellent. My friend had their pizza, very happy with it and he had a cheese burger, very good also. I had their wings, 5 star on the buffalo wings. Would definitely recommend you stop and give them a try. We stopped there a few days ago while boating and I had the chicken strips, very moist and tasty. read more

Oh I wish I could give 1/2 a star... We have been here 3 times and only because our friends stay in trailers here. First time was in room .. It was old and dated no linens you have to bring your own. Since then I have heard they have remodeled some . Next time we rented the park model right by the boat launch. Ac was horrible, beds are gross , bathroom is stinky. That last time we decided to go as a group we rented the dock house ... We paid 160 a night what a waste ! A tent would have been better . We got there late We walked to dock house there where no lights. Good thing we didn't step on the glass that was shattered from the door to the old decrepit game room. Roaches welcomed us! Got into the room and the smell was awful. Couch was DIRTY, recliner was DIRTIER, broken chair . TV looks like it was taken out of an RV 12". First room the bed, lets say we were hoping there where no bed bugs, roaches, or mice. There was a small clothing rack in there and rickety nightstand.. Next room had tv stand in corner with no TV. There was about 7 ft of a cable cord there though. TV was in top of dresser and didn't work. Bed was disgusting . Bathroom smelled like crap no ventilation or ac in there so it was like walking into a porta potty in 112 degree humid weather. Kitchen be careful dont use the microwave have the ac on and plug something else in or else your electricity will go out . Then you won't be able to turn it on because the box is next door in the game room.. And don't try and call anyone in the weekend because they won't pick up. Then they will send the matinece guy 4 hrs later.. Which means your food could go bad since your frige will be out.. The sick is dangerous lots of loose boards . We will never return ... read more

I've been all over the Parker strip....on both the California side and the Arizona side and I have to say big bend has the best views and location on this stretch of the river! It seriously can't be beat. I've been coming here since I was a little girl, we've also tried other places and always end up coming back here. It really is that gorgeous! Great spot to watch boats on the Parker strip. , easy in and out of the water for our sea Doos and boat and calm for my 9 month old daughter to go in her floatie. We recently spent 4 days here. Saturday it was busy as expected in the day camp area on the river, Sunday it calmed down, and Monday-Wednesday we were the only people there. If you are looking for a 5 star resort or campground, this is not your spot. If you're looking to have a fun time on the river with a million dollar view, this is your spot!! Can't wait to return hopefully many more times. read more

Camped there for 4 years. First I must say It has the most beautiful views of the river, if you can get a spot there. The best waterfront spots are pretty much dominated by a few. The majority of the people who stay are awesome. Had the unfortunate experience to have belligerent, foul mouthed drunks next to us for the last two years. Approached management (such as it is) regarding the problem, they didn't want to deal with the issue and we were told we could move if we wanted to. The management barely exists. In the four years we were there, they averaged two managers a season, the office help is about the same. Never sure when the office will be open to get information or pay rent, etc. they are constantly messing up on billing, because, as they say the last girl didn't know what they were doing. I have met people that had reservations, paid for and the spot was given to someone else, so don't count on your reservations being cut in stone. Or people who have an "understanding" with the office for a spot, without paying. During our stay had several instances of sewage blowing out of pipes in the ground near our site. They shut the water off frequently without notice. The electrical hook ups are very rusty and rickety. Burned out three pigtails in one year. My advice is find somewhere else to camp. read more

Everything is run down and the recent updates are pathetic at best. Now they are raising rates and at the current prices I wouldn't go back but at the new rates it will be simple to find much better for the same or less cost. Don't waste your time here. read more

My families recent experience at big bend was disappointing to say the least due to the girl that works at the store. We had to wait after the store opened to check in because she was about 40 minutes late. My kids were not treated nicely when they went to the store later. It's a shame that when you go to big bend your first experience is met with a rude young lady who doesn't understand customer service or that this I thought was a family oriented park. My kids felt like they were an annoyance and that unfortunately set the tone for our first day of our family vacation. A vacation takes a lot of planning, time off work and money. At least that park could acknowledge that and have their guests welcomed on time, with a smile. Or perhaps hospitality isn't a part of that stores capabilities or requirements. read more
