We were out for the parker river tube float and visited pirates den which was the host resort. Many participants parked at pirates den, we parked at the state park immediately up river. The float ends at the pirates den launch ramp and so floaters come up the channel at the end of the float and get out of the water at the launch ramp. The launch ramp is nice, inside a protected cove so that the river flow isn't a challenge when launching and recovering your boats and personal water craft. Pirates den has a restaurant and tons of RV and tent camping spaces. Along with ample boat and trailer parking for visitors. I'll be back the next time we do the river tube float. read more

This was our first time staying at the Pirates Den Resort. We were invited by some friends to come & enjoy the river & sunshine. Our group had 5 different rigs with 4 of them on the front row with cabana/beach access while our rig was on the second row with a decent view of the river even with rigs parked in front of us. The staff in the office were friendly & helpful especially with helping us extend our visit. When we originally scheduled our site in April we could only stay 3 days but we're able to stay 7 since there were cancellations. The resort was clean & well taken care of with staff always going around cleaning & checking sites for issues. While we were there the resort hosted a canoe (kayak, long board) race (not sure what it was called but it was fun to watch & cheer) We did get some crazy weather (rain/thunderstorm) which did cause some water pooling in the different campsites but we didn't have any issues. We did enjoy the onsite bar/restaurant from happy hour to pizza they had just about everything. The office also had a small convenience store with ice, snacks & a great selection of drinks (both alcoholic & non). Only negative we had was the lack of availability for the same spots next year as the ones we're interested in we're already booked out. Maybe we'll have check back after the new year to see if any availability opens up. read more

motorhome owners be aware. I stayed there with my 4x4 club from 10/26 - 11/2 2025. Very long 5th showed up and parked on the concrete pad where most people put their easy chairs and tables. when opened his slides, he was only few inches from my window awning. later he added very long trailer, his big truck and few quads. I complained to Trish the new manager. For what ever reason she cited with the new comer. (he came for 6 months). apparently the owner give her free hand to do what ever she wants. I never saw her smile, and seems that her judgment is in question. after my review, she cancelled my reservation for 2026. She also lied, sending me email stating that I cancelled my reservation. when I confronted her, she said " it's a standard procedure" to write that way. I come almost every year with my club at the same dates and I reserve a spot a year in advance just before we leave. so, I hope you have better experience and you won't have a reason to complain. read more

We've rented pontoons from Pirates several times, and every time has been fantastic! The staff is always incredibly helpful and kind. Yesterday, we rented a 26' pontoon for a half day, and Daniel was there to assist us with everything we needed. He helped us pull out and dock the boat, making the entire experience stress-free. The best part of this resort was the view. Which it not a fair thing to rate it on. Bring lots of money if you want to roll in here for a few days. We had a waterfront spot. Beautiful view. Nice walking path. The daily rate here is very high. Then they add $20 pet fee, $5 daily electric fee, lodging fee and taxes. The cost for 3 nights almost $300 dollars! Where there monthly rate is $595.00! Seems like robbery to me! They do not provide a pet area. You have to go to the next park ran by the county. Advertised to have WiFi. A park of this cost should provide adequate coverage. WiFi never worked in 3 days. People in park said it has never worked. Also no cable tv and no cell service! The restaurant had ok food but worst service anywhere. Totally unprepared staffing. The bar cute and enjoyable happy hour. Probably won't be back. A lot of other choices in this area. read more

Folks in office are great! Campground is beautiful- in the front row! We got in very last minute for a one month stay. It was okay, but trailers are so close together on our cement pad of a "patio" we can watch 4 other RV black tanks draining into the ground sewer. Kind of a turnoff when we are packed in tightly in 4th row. Being so close to the Colorado River we did get out on our kayaks often. My husband had a great time fishing. read more

I rented a 10 seater pontoon boat last weekend , I was on the hunt for weeks and called every day until one miraculously became available. Paid the $100 to hold and called when we were running late for our 8am picked up , because we were coming from California. This boat cost $4 shy of $500 to rent for 8 hours . When we arrived they promptly got us on the boat - Great! When we saw the boat it was in horrible condition . Dented , holes in the siding , ONE cup holder for a 10 seater boat , the anchor wasn't tied and had padlocks on the hooks so it was almost impossible to get the anchor to stay , cigarette burns in the leather, impossible steering wheel when it came to turning, every gear shift made a loud thump , and ANTS!!! A infestation of ants came crawling out of the steering wheel box when we started driving! They ended up getting In our cooler and into our lunches . But they stressed if we hit rocks with the new engine we would be charged . Over and over to where we were so nervous to even enjoy ourselves . No deck hands available. And the ladder was screwed into pieces of plywood that would crack when you were stepping up . Ridiculously expensive for a pos boat , and rude customer service . read more

Worst customer service ever. Lori is extremely rude and terrible to communicate with. They have a policy of no refunds 45 days prior to arrival and never mind it's a fricken PANDEMIC and there are travel restrictions in place. Super shady and inconsiderate. This place only caters to the elite. We will never stay or eat here again. We stayed here a couple of years ago in our 40 ft. motor home. All good, however, last year, we decided to bring our cap-over camper. My husband, a disabled vet, service dog, and I were treated like trash and made to feel very unwelcome. There were three in our party and the manager stalked us and demanded to look inside our camper, claiming there was no way it could sleep the three of us (it sleeps four). Today, I just tried to reserve a spot and was told they don't allow our type of rig and was hung up on. It is clear to me they don't respect disabled vets and we will never go back. read more

It hard to hear bad reviews for this business. We have been camping and boating for many years here. Sad to say this is our last summer... we are moving it up to Moabi. Lori in the RV office is absolutely the reason we will never return. We are not alone in this decision. Zeb and Meghan are dreams, I wish we didn't have to leave them. They are wonderful people and provide outstanding service. For the life of us, we cannot figure out why any owner of such a great resort would allow one person to have so much control over their business. If you do not think Lori is that bad.... ask any employee or patron that has camped here. They will tell you she is the reason for people not returning. Good luck! read more

The Pirates Den Resort experience can be summed up in one word -- AWESOME! We just got back from a two-week stay over Christmas and New Years' and had an absolutely wonderful time. This was our second visit to the resort in 2020 and the first since COVID, and the facilities here (already quite clean) were spotless. Lori and the rest of the office staff were, as usual, helpful and friendly. They have a marina with boats for rent and a terrific bar and restaurant on site. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this resort -- the jewel of the river! Just an overall great vibe here -- it really feels like "coming home". We have stayed here for five months at a time over the past eight years during the winters; therefore, I feel qualified to make an accurate assessment of this RV Park. The staff is very helpful and pleasant; the gift shop is clean and the merchandise nicely displayed. It is rather small and the lighting a bit on the dark side. Laurie is the manager and runs a "tight ship". There are rules. If a guest is being disruptive, noisy, out-of-line or obnoxious to others, she will enforce the rules. In my opinion, the most serious concern with the RV Park is the lack of a strong, continuous wi fi service. Using a mobile phone's hot spot has been the most advantageous. Several folks have tried using amplifiers and special antennas to no significant advantage. We have had a computer expert in to review the situation with us and he recommends being patient. There are new satellite internet communications in beta testing now and should be available to low areas blocked by mountains, such as occurs in this area. The Black Pearl Restaurant is close-by with a lovely setting but the prices can be spendy! The singers/guitarists, Denny & Kristina, are delightful and very versatile, especially for the older crowd. read more

We made reservations for the holiday weekend with a water front site. My wife came down with covid and we had to cancel. They reminded me that if I cancel within 45 days I lose my deposit.  The manager wants a pic of my wifes hospital wrist band and she will credit the 100.00 to our next visit.. Unacceptable.. I will not share personal information. Let's talk about the policy itself. The reason for the 45 days out is to ensure the resort can have time to fill that spot.  Well, I just called to re-book with them 2 hours later (to see if that spot was available) and they are all booked for that HOLIDAY weekend. So, in reality it does not (and never will) take 45 days to fill a water-front spot on a holiday. You will go on to say "that's how your resort works" and I will say "AS CROOKS"!!    Any resort who has a 45 days out policy in one of the most sought-after locations and a holiday weekend is a straight up crook.  There are no ZERO stars. read more

Another fantastic trip to the Pirates Den! With indoor dining restrictions eased and the Moderna vaccines coursing through our bodies and (hopefully!) in full effect, we took advantage of more aspects of this excellent resort, including the on-site restaurant where we ate "Fish and Ships" until we literally could eat no more. I just want to mention again how OUTSTANDING the staff is at Pirate's Den. Lori runs a tight ship and has trained her associates very well. While all of the "front desk ladies" so a great job, I'd be remiss if I did not mention the STELLAR work of Trish. She does a very difficult job with grace and dignity! This review gets two stars simply because the drinks we had were delicious. Aside from that the experience was less then quality. We had to wave our sever down every time to order, from drinks to food. They were short and rude and definitely bothered by the fact that we were there. Additionally the food runner wasn't wearing a face mask!!!! I almost didn't want to eat after seeing that. None of our food was good. The fish tacos had literally one tiny itty bitty piece of fish. The Ruben has wayyy to much sauce. And the chicken sandwich barely had a big enough chicken breast for half of it. I was truly disappointed with this place. read more

My friends and I had put in to reserve a ten person pontoon boat for $375 +tax and fuel for one full day. A week and a half after making the reservation I receive a call saying they are increasing the price and downgrading me to a six person boat for $450 +tax and fuel. WHAT?! How are you even able to give me a boat half the size and increase my payment $75?! The lady that called was extremely rude and just told me prices are subject to change at any time which was not disclosed to us upon agreeing to rent the boat. The first time we went in here to rent a boat we asked when the first weekend available would be and the ladies just laughed at us and said they wouldn't have anything for a while. Didn't even bother to look anything up for us, so we just left and figured we'd try again some other time. That's two times now that we have been extremely disappointed by the customer service with this place. read more

Can get a little packed during peak summer season, nothing to write home about, the place is clean and people are friendly, spots are a little small compared to others I have been too. The web site is advertising a beach front paradise...but in reality only if you have a beachfront site, if not its pretty bad. During the winter those waterfront sites are booked a year in advance. The rest of the park is crammed in. Basically just staring at your neighbors trailer. It can be tricky to get your RV into some sites because there are so many extra vehicles. Many sites have 2 cars, a boat, a side by side, golf cart etc. Some sites have utility trailers too. Also its a pretty UTV active park. Infact a large reason people camp here is because of their off road vehicles so its pretty noisy. People going back and forth to the restaurant or their buddy's site in a sweet 4 door CanAm...many of those never leave the park. The stars were for the staff, who are really friendly, and the restaurant which is hands down the best river side restaurant in Parker. This place just felt like the long term RVers started dictating the rules and management just went along with it. The long term RVers are also not very friendly and instead act privileged.... so its hard to even make friends because you are an outsider. WiFy is spotty and Cell service is horrible unless you walk to the big parking lot at La Paz. FYI there better RV parks in the area for sure. read more

I don't know where they got the nice pictures that are online. I have to say this is the worst RV park I have ever stayed in. The roads are unkept they have huge potholes and the dust is unbelievable, no asphalt. The Wi-Fi is nonexistent, I could go on and on. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE OR GIVE THIS BUSINESS ANY OF YOUR MONEY!!!!! I have NEVER experienced such HORRIBLE customer service until we stayed at this resort. I am a very kind and forgiving person. But the "owner" which she made sure to inform us many times, is the absolute rudest person I have ever met. She needs to invest in attending a business and hospitality school. It was our first time as guests here, and not only did she not care, but talked down to us like we were beneath her. This resort was an absolute ghost town, and she continued to treat her one paying customer and our kids like we were an inconvenience to her. We were in the second row for two weeks, and had to move to the third row because our space was rented out for the other two weeks of our month stay. Because we didn't get one space for a month straight we ended up paying weekly rate plus full electricity. Our total bill was $800+, would have been cheaper to get a waterfront spot for a month. I do think their reservation system should have booked us at the monthly rate. I had no problem with either space or hookups. Bad there is not access to the beach if you don't have a waterfront space. We most likely won't return because of the rate. read more

This is our first summer at Pirates Den. We love it! Lots if space for lots of toys. Friendly neighbors. There are beach spots with big cabanas and boat launch. There us a nice indoor restaurant and outdoor deck overlooking the marina that has a two lane boat launch, gas and docks fir those coming to eat. Nice pirate decor all over the park and a pirate ship. Beach is sand but with some rocks so aqua shoes are a must. Family friendly and they run a tight ship to keep things nice in the park. Some things I would like to see changed are outdoor bar area...closes super early. On a Friday night we were asked to leave at 6pm. There are deck pools that I have never seen open. Prices for area are reasonable and ladies in the office are so helpful and easy to work with. read more

If I could I would give this a Zero rating! If you like rude management and staff, staying in a large dirt parking lot surrounded by trailers on 3 sides with about 6" of space between you and the other trailers that surround you and spaces crowded with extra vehicles, trailers and side by sides; then this is the place for you. Their Wi-fi service is non existent on the weekends and there is no cell phone service or TV service, even though they claim there is. Beach access is limited strictly to the front row, anyone else wishing to access the beach must go to the county park next door. If you would like a better experience at a fraction of the cost and pleasant customer service I highly recommend staying at La Paz County Park. While the county park is 1st come 1st serve they almost always have availability and also offer month rate pricing, for about a 1/3 the price of Pirates Den, and their nightly rate which includes electric and taxes all in is $30.00 a night. I'm not sure why people continue to return to Pirates Den. Almost everyone you talk to has nothing good to say about park staff or the manager LORI! I can not understand why upper management continues to keep her around, and as this park is managed as a concessionaire park, I do hope that La Paz county takes into consideration the reviews of her rudeness when up for renewal. I highly advise you request and read each of the 4 pages of rules which they state you receive when booking the reservation, however we were not given ours until check-in. The rules have very little to do with what you can do, but does offers 4 pages of what you can not do with the fines listed for any infraction. 30 years of Rving across multiple states, Canada and Mexico, this was by far the worst experience ever. Contrary to the managements belief that you are a hostage and they are in control, This is still America and as a consumer I have choices! Lori, this review has nothing to do with the price we paid. It does however list true detailed facts about your park and your rudeness to customers. read more

We spent 2 nights there the first part of December & would have stayed longer had time permitted. Amazingly clean & well maintained spaces with cement pads. Our 2 labs enjoyed the fenced-in dog park. We have been coming to the river for years. Never have we've had so many issues. First off there is not miles of beach access, if you do not have a spot in the front you have about 10 feet of public beach access. We were kicked out of 2 beach spots within a couple hours we were told "you need to get up really early to reserve a spot on the public beach." Okay great, however everyone leaves there stuff over night so they don't lose their inch of space. The worker who asked me and my toddler to leave the "private" beach was extremely rude and walked away from me as I was about to ask a question. Second we were parked in our spot for about 20 minutes to have some guy on a golf come and yell at my husband that the speed limit was 5 miles per hour, which we were well aware of since we can read the signs posted. He then continued to drive past our site looking directly at us. Thirdly, if you want to hang out in the water and relax with your kids, good luck. The water is so rough from all the boats and jet skis driving at the shore line no wake speed limit. The staff is rude, the R.V. spots are packed, the public beach is a joke. Don't store your trailer here...my brand new trailer was here for a total of 2 months and had the bottom bin broken into & everything you need to hook a trailer up (water, power, sewer) was all stolen. I hear from reliable sources it happens a lot here & no one is ever caught! Was just asked for more storage fees but my trailer has been gone from there for 5 days already & it was parked right by the office, no wonder it was broken into & no one saw, they didn't even know my trailer was gone! And don't leave anything behind in your campsite, they won't call and let paying customers know they left something behind, they "just throw it away". Wow, really?! read more

WARNING: do NOT buy gas for your boat from their pumps!!! Filled our boat up there in June 2021 & it started stalling out about a half a mile up the strip after filling it up. Got it to a mechanic & he just confirmed the problem is the gas -- the gas is orange & appears to have rust in it. Mechanic is having to drain all the gas, clean everything, & re-gas it. When all is said & done we're out about $450 including the "gas" we purchased from them. Live & learn. Should've known -- our brand new trailer was broken into while in their storage a couple years ago & items were stolen (power cord, sewer hose, etc.) and when I confronted them, they denied any responsibility for that too, in fact they were rude & said it was my fault as I probably left all the missing items in my camping site & drove off prior to storing it there. They have a bad reputation around town for "inside jobs" we later found out. And now we're hearing other horror stories about their gas. Won't spend another dime at this place and will be spreading the word to all our friends & family! read more

Stayed in June, still not full hook ups, they have 6 available, but every spot is top dollar $65. The spots are made for motorhomes so if you have a trailer hook ups are on wrong side. We did have a so called back in with electric on correct side, but water was on opposite side needed a long hose. There is room to pull a trailer in drop and drive out tow vehicle so hook ups are on right side. There are no picnic benches, so if you like to eat at a table you will have to bring your own. They have some spots with cabanas on the water which offer shade for part of the day if they have trees in front of them, but no electric or water hook up near by. No cleats or tie offs for boats make sure you have your own. Rules specify no metal stakes ?? Pros: Beautiful looking resort very creative The one bathroom is new and showers very clean, you need a key with deposit They have an outdoor bar on water very warm even in cool evenings The indoor restaurant is now open, also very creative theme, adult Disney- ish Maintenance guy was very helpful and kept spots clean They will pump out tanks on Wed and Sun need to make apt, office did not tell us Lori in reservations was very helpful finding us the right spot, but did claim full hook ups Walking distance to Roadrunner at night read more
