Raft on the River @ Parker, AZ, La Paz County Park. 4th of July weekend.
    Caroline B.

Bullhead City, Davis Camp is better. Downfalls: 1. A lot of drunken morons! Some guys were hitting on the 16 & 17 year old girls I was chaperoning, BS! They even invited them to the bar & were constantly ogling them. I should've reported them. Same drunks up til 3:00 am yelling, screaming & shooting off M80's, going by our tent saying: Oh look it's tent campers, SHHHHH! Then letting out loud screams on purpose. A**holes! 2. July 4th weekend the heat was too unbearable. 3. EXTREMELY LOUD, LOUD BOATS as early as 5:00 am! No noise ordinance and management has a anything goes for the most policy. 4. Overpriced. I was told before leaving that I would pay $42.00/night for 3-teen girls, myself and my boyfriend by a guy named Ray who answered the phone. When I got there I was immediately charged $56.00 for the first night and then when my guy showed up later they charged him $140.00 for the additional 2 nights! BS! 5. Dock was not completely padded and when my jet ski stalled and I was pushed by current into the dock the bumpers did nothing and my jet ski suffered a lime size chunk out of the fiberglass! More BS! 6. The boats overtook the river which made sh*tty riding for jet skiers with all the wakes. Also, the wakes made getting in and out of the water no fun. 7. Hispanic moms taking 10-12 year old boys in to use the women's bathrooms where showers, etc are! Not cool. Good things: 1. Memorial Day was more fun and we had cool neighbors. I would say go anytime around May, June or Sept. but, not in July or August. Too d*mn hot! 2. Showers are clean and so are bathrooms. 3. Circle K is not that far away and friendly people and staff. 4. Wal-mart not too far either for all your needs. 5. BBQ's, running water, Canopy for tent/dry camping. Also, has RV spots, Cabins, and RV's for rent. 6. Very pretty scenery, water looks clean and blue and grassy areas right outside your camping area. 7. Loading dock was close to our camp spot # 203. 8. Electrical outlets to charge your phone (2 by dock on each side and 1 by recreation center). There is one in the restroom but, it didn't work well for the phones. 9. Ice at the check-in area was about the same price as Circle K.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the first day checking in was hectic, but we were given a good spot facing the direction we requested. The camp host, Darrel is new (5 days) was already very knowledgeable of the sites and what would be best. Considering there was a few different big events happening; Poker Run for rock trail crawler, Blues and Brews Festival and the Snowbirds coming and going they remained calm and professional. On our second night we moved spots to a waterfront spot we saw while walking the scenic boardwalk area. When we inquired in the office, they suggested an even better one. We paid the difference and were on our way. Darrell even offered to give us a ride to check it out before we committed. That was not necessary, we trusted him because he helped us out the day before. The new spot even had 50 amp service. Darrell and his wife were fantastic camp hosts and because of them we will be back again! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Had a great day in the water. Easy access to shoreline parking, clean restrooms. Highly recommend.

Best of all are the owners: unlike Emerald Cove, these people care about the campground and the campers, and we distinctly felt the difference.

A few days beforehand my mother who booked the reservation injured her back and is unable to go. I called to inform the resort of this change. They informed me that even though I am a signer on the account and allowed full access I am not able to check in for us. Apparently if I had made the reservation there would be no problem. They would not change the reservation name or allow me to cancel the reservation and remake it in my own name. I asked to be transfered to Robin who is the office manager. I know she has the ability to do this with no trouble. The lack of compassion and level of callousness shows me she has no business being in the customer relations compacity. My Mother is in tears right now with feeling responsible for ruining everyones trip. We really wish we has stayed clear of Colorado River Adventures and their timeshare as well as Emeral Cove Resort. We feel like we are connected to a company that doesn't care at all for their owners. We are still going on our trip! We are just going to have to pay someone else to give us what we already pay them for. I am emailing Robin the hospital receipt to prove my Mother was admitted otherwise she said we will still be charged for the week. What a pain stay away! Being first time campers we absolutely loved the campsite in Julian. We agreed to the sales meeting during our free stay and of course fell for the sales pitch and bought in. I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews on the member services and reservations system they have in place. For start, the girls that handle the calls are definitely not customer service oriented at all. When you drop a call with them or get disconnected (it's happens often) nobody bothers to call you back. So it's back to sitting on hold again. One girl will tell you one thing and the other has a power trip and makes you call back on a later date. Then if you're tired of being treated with disregard and ask to speak to a manager. They tell you the manager is busy and send you to somebody's voicemail that never calls back. If they had a better member service system in place I would definitely change my review.

I want to share my thought so everyone can make an informed decision…read more Colorado River Adventures operates legally, but the business model raises serious concerns. The sales process feels extremely high-pressure, with a strong push to sign the same day under the impression that the deal wouldn't be available later. That alone should be a red flag for anyone making a large financial commitment. The membership structure is essentially a long-term financial obligation with ongoing annual fees that are not always clearly emphasized upfront. Once you're in, getting out is not simple. From what I've seen from others, these contracts are treated like binding loans, which can follow you financially if you try to walk away. Another issue is that some of the benefits and expectations presented during the sales process don't always match the reality of the locations or availability. It can be difficult to book when and where you want, and not all properties are maintained at the level you might expect based on the presentation. There are also broader concerns about customer data security following reports of a data breach, which adds another layer of hesitation when trusting a company like this with personal information. To be clear, this is not about the company being illegal -- it's about whether the value truly matches the cost and commitment. For many people, especially those who don't consistently use the membership, it may not make financial sense. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this to take their time, read the full contract they throw you carefully, and to not make a same-day decision under pressure by the sales team.

Our group had 5 different rigs with 4 of them on the front row with cabana/beach access while our rig was on the second row with a decent view of the river even with rigs parked in front of us. The staff in the office were friendly & helpful especially with helping us extend our visit. When we originally scheduled our site in April we could only stay 3 days but we're able to stay 7 since there were cancellations. The resort was clean & well taken care of with staff always going around cleaning & checking sites for issues. While we were there the resort hosted a canoe (kayak, long board) race (not sure what it was called but it was fun to watch & cheer) We did get some crazy weather (rain/thunderstorm) which did cause some water pooling in the different campsites but we didn't have any issues. We did enjoy the onsite bar/restaurant from happy hour to pizza they had just about everything. The office also had a small convenience store with ice, snacks & a great selection of drinks (both alcoholic & non). Only negative we had was the lack of availability for the same spots next year as the ones we're interested in we're already booked out. Maybe we'll have check back after the new year to see if any availability opens up.

She also lied, sending me email stating that I cancelled my reservation. when I confronted her, she said " it's a standard procedure" to write that way.
