Great food, super friendly staff. My new favorite place to eat in PostFalls. We had soup, sandwich and coleslaw, all were delicious. They were busy, steady stream of customers, many getting to go orders. Our food came out promptly, steaming hot. My only concern was that they don't seem to wipe down the tables after a customer leaves. They were very quick to clear a table, but they were all left sticky. Where we sat was based on which table looked the least sticky. Not something I want to worry about, I hope they improve on this, as I will be back. read more

I was actually very excited to try this place. It was a little bit off the street, kind of hidden. And the place was packed. Obviously the food should be good, right?! I waited in line happily until it was my turn, got up to the counter. This older gentleman with short gray hair at the register says what do you want? I said, with a smile, hey how are you today? He looked at me without a smile and says what would you like today? I said, with my best smile, wow you guys are obviously very busy. When I started to look down at the menu in my hand he suddenly yanked it out of my hands. I said can I have that back please I'm just looking at that. He looked at the one on the counter, tapped it firmly, says that's the same menu. At this point I'm so insulted, I'm afraid he is going to spit in my food. I never swear. I think that people who swear are stupid. But I was so flabbergasted, I said "F*** this. Im outta here." As I walk towards the door, I look back, and for the very first time, I see him smile. We stumbled upon this hidden gem for a quick bite to eat. Hubby said he wanted a good deli sandwich so we yelled what was close. You seriously need to try this little comfy but oh so big on flavor obvious local spot. Make sure you get there early for the best selections on soup (I just missed out on the chicken and mushroom - now I'm craving it!). Sandwiches were Delish - fresh and soft breads - homemade sides (coleslaw in sand which was amazing) and the atmosphere is just adorable. Best sandwiches in town! Locally owned and operated, these owners make sure everything is the freshest it can be. The variety is incredible. My meal of choice is foccacia bread, turkey, swiss, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and a house made garlic mayo that is the bomb, a bag of chips (included in sandwich purchase), a cold soda and a homebaked oreo brownie - my mouth is watering already! Also, trust in their specials!! I had a yummy panini with kiwi on it and it was amazing! It is more than just a sandwich shop, it has soups, quiche, and baked goods that are all made right there on the property. This place is very popular around lunch time worth any wait if there is one at all. Order to go, sit and stay, or sit outside if it is nice! I recommend this place over any ol' subway or quiznos. Wow, the Number Ten: turkey, bacon, Swiss with spinach, tomato, and bleu cheese on toasted focaccia was awesome. I ordered with arugula, which really played off the bleu cheese nicely. The bacon was perfectly crispy, and the focaccia bun was still moist after toasting. Really great sandwich! The service was equally amazing. I love this place! I have been here for lunch 6 times in the last year even though I live an hour away and I always have outstanding service and food. I always see the same two or three employees here and they are some of the kindest people I have ever encountered. Every time I eat here they have an amazing home made soup or two and the sandwiches are top notch deliciousness! My Mom has been avoiding bread lately but really likes the sandwiches here, so they offered to make her sandwiches on fresh iceberg lettuce instead of a bun and she loves it. We even tried the pulled pork on lettuce instead of the bun and it was awesome!! Thanks guys!!!! We will be back. read more

This is by far a place deserving a perfect rating. The staff here are so incredibly friendly, greeting you as you come in, making menu suggestions, to helping you to your table and cleaning up when you leave. They do such a great job at catering to their customers unlike any sandwich shop I've been to. The food is great! 1st of all we my wife and I each got a gift card to have lunch there. We called are order in and my wife went to pick up as soon as she handed the lady are gift cards from there deli the lady said we could only except 1. Now what's that all about they already were paid for the cards. Anyway she brought the food back and the sad witches were really dry and blah. The deli meat was good though but portion is small. Turned me around and kept a customer who brings a lot of out of towners to them. Very happy! Sandwiches are good, but hard to make up when you make a call in at 11:15am and they tell you twenty minutes. I get there at 11:40 wait in line and pay, I had to wait there 'til 12:05. I finally get my sandwich, and I hurry out the door because I'm late for work because they took forever! and one of the employees runs out to me in the parking lot accusing me of not paying! excuse me, yes I did, I paid cash, not my fault you guys don't give receipts! oh and I noticed after I got to work they screwed the order. This is our favorite place to get sandwiches! We pretty much always get the #10. The bacon is thick and the bread is so soft and tasty. I was visiting family in Post Falls when I stopped in to order lunch for everyone. This location looks like an old ski lodge and can be passed up quickly if your not paying attention. It's a little small inside and can be busy during lunch, however the long wait is worth it. Their sandwiches are classic, but super good. You can tell they use fresh meats and bread. My recommendation is to order ahead of time, so you can beat the rush. Definitely a customer for life when I'm visiting Post Falls. read more

My wife eats here a lot so I figured I would give it a try after over 10 years of living in Post Falls. It's pretty good food, the sandwiches are fresh and decent sized. The price is about average to what anyone would pay these days, 10 bucks gets you most anything and a bag of chips so no complaints. I think best of all is the building itself, has an Alpine Lodge feeling too it. Another bonus is the Punch cards, after so many purchases you get a sandwich for free. If you want fast food, go to fast food. If you want a good meal come here. read more

You will miss this place if you are not paying attention as it sit back off the main road. If you like fresh bread or should I say (love) fresh baked bread then this is a place you must stop into and get lunch or take something home for a quick dinner. I love the Big Bear Deli! They have fresh great tasting food that's close to home. I love boar head meats and that's what they use. You should try the big bear burger it's AWESOME!
