High quality bakery with pizza, sandwiches, pastries, salads, and bagels. Normally eat gluten free, but had a regular bagel and it had that dreamy chewy texture with a crusty outside. Had with their house cream cheese and it's so much better than store bought. Husband had the orange chocolate scone which had that bright orange flavor and managed to be moist for a scone. Pizza was 4/5 per his report. 3 items was only $13 so it's fairly affordable as well. Lots of seating, although we came at noon and it was very full. Service was as expected for this type of place. Thanks!!

BEST EVER PIZZA, and pastries. Service is always so fast and yes just long enough to make freshly baked goods. The place is just what you need on a bad day to make it better. Everything there is industrial and yet it feels so homey.

Probably the best pizza in town you've never heard of. My favorite is the bee. The ambiance isn't really suited for dining in or a date, but there are plenty of great locations to eat outside once you order. It's not a place where you go to get dined on.

Fresh bread, incredible looking wood fired pizzas, and Mexican coke! Perfect lunch spot while your exploring coeur d Alene

I love this place. I can tell they use good ingredients in their bread because I never get a stomach ache after eating here. Their pizza is amazing, my favorite pizza in town. They have delicious pretzel bread that is always sold out too. If you come later in the day, don't expect them to have a full stock of bread, as they often run out quickly. The employees are always nice and quick with the orders too.

While downtown I wanted a sandwich at a new place. I looked up and found Back Pocket Bakery. I couldn't find it at first but was surprised to see that it was right next to the bike shop that I frequent but had never noticed it. The place looks nice and homey, though devoid of plants which usually adds to homeyness. I was on the phone when I ordered but the kind server was very perceptive and interpreted my pointing and hand motions quite well. I ordered The Deli despite thinking $16 was too much for a sandwich. When the sandwich came to my table, I was quite surprised to see how hardy it was. It had a lot of ingredients, was big and I could only eat half. It's a perfect sandwich to share. It was delicious. The bread was oh so fresh and delicious perfectly complimenting the meat veggies and sauce inside. I'll definitely order it again. Finding the bathroom is a trip as the diner walks through a mini kitchen, not in use by the staff, before finding it. My biggest wish for this place is that they would offer a half size sandwich for when it's only you and you have only $10 in your pocket or looking for something on a budget. The server was very friendly and seemed happy to grab a to-go box for me. My son enjoyed the second half at home and wants to go there as well. A solid place to eat! I'll be back.

I don't want to say that crust makes the loaf, but I totally agree with another reviewer that they have mastered a firm crust that you can actually use your bread knife to cut through. Beyond that, the flavors of their rye breads are incredible! We got two different ones, and they were both distinctly different in texture and density, yet made a wonderful sandwich base. We visited them at the Kootenai farmers market, and they had a line that stretched for 30 yards. I asked a nice lady in front of me what I should look for, and she told me what ever they had left lol!

My friends and I picked up sandwiches (meatball for them and deli for myself) and they were delicious!! The bread was so fresh. My deli sandwich had the perfect ratio of condiments, meat, cheese and lettuce. I subbed turkey for the ham and it was thickly sliced and delicious. Loved the pickle on the side. Will definitely be back to try their bagels and pizza... and cookies! Everything looked amazing!

Pretty good food. Kind of pricy for what you get, but it definitely was worth trying.

Great pizzas and sandwiches. I do wish they had a little more seating. But overall would recommend this little hidden gem.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this shop. It has a very warm and welcoming feel, with tall ceilings that make the space feel open and airy. When I first arrived it was quite busy, filled with families laughing and enjoying their time together, which created a lively and friendly environment. As someone who is more introverted, the crowd was a bit overwhelming at first, but it eventually cleared out and became a very comfortable place to relax. The staff were also incredibly kind. Since I had never tried a macaron before, I ordered a rose macaron to taste, and it was absolutely delicious. They also gave me a complimentary sample of their coffee, which was excellent. It was the house blend. And the bags they sell are very reasonably priced. The café is very well priced, with drinks ranging the $5-8 mark, and the foods ranging $3-8- and the quality of the food and drinks are quite rich in taste! Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be coming back.

My whole milk med vanilla latter however was not good. It was too sweet and tasted like marshmallow not vanilla. Maybe I should have asked how many shots of expresso are served in a medium. This medium tasted too milky with no coffee flavor at all just warm marshmallow milk. If you want a coffee forward latte this is not your place. If you want sweet flavored milk you will be in heaven.

It's in the rear parking lot behind Hometown Chiropractic, next to Surf Shack Burgers. Alani Bakery is fantastic! Husband and wife owned, specialty in custom cakes (which I have not tried) and pastries (which I have). Their pastries are amazing, fresh, and perhaps the best I've had in all of Kootenai County. Sitting area is small, with a total of three two-seater tables and a sofa. Certainly not a place for a gathering. But if you want a quiet, comfortable hidden getaway to enjoy some quiet time without a loud blender, grinder, or coffee shop noises every 45 seconds, this is the place! Limited breakfast menu, but the croissant sandwiches and crepe options are wonderful. Croissant is warm, buttery, flakey, fresh and filled with goodness. Owners are super friendly and knowledgeable and offer great service. Excellent espresso (no drip coffee, so order an Americano or latte). You must try this place!
