Visited for the first time today after church. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. Bear decorations adorn the walls. This restaurant is not as big as the one on northeast side of Indianapolis. Server was attentive and very friendly. My son couldn't get over the size and weight of the biscuit. I built my own omelette and it was delicious and ordered a side of home fries. They are a nice change of pace from hash-browns or cubed potatoes. Husband got the breakfast with eggs, fruit cup and chose gravy for his biscuit. He liked the gravy but said the biscuit was too thick and dense for his taste. Our son ordered the pancakes and said the syrup made them taste better than they did plain. We ordered the Fox biscuits to go. They look like little donuts sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Quite tasty! The homemade strawberry jam is also very good. No one ordered off the lunch menu. It's nice that everything on the menu is served all day. Very family friendly! read more

I was hungry for breakfast, so I decided to try Big Bear Biscuits in Brownsburg. I found the menu pricey, so I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy so I could at least try a biscuit. I was the only customer present, so I thought the wait was pretty long. It finally arrived. A biscuit on a saucer with Luke warm gravy poured over the top. Not sliced open....just poured over the top. The biscuit was underdone, luke warm and unremarkable. The bill was $6.00. I left a $1.00 tip. Next time I will go across 136 and buy half a dozen donuts at Hildegoss Bakery. The waitress was courteous and did her job well. The ambiance was okey nothing to write home about. Sorry, I don't usually write negative reviews. If biscuit is in your name, you better make a great biscuit every time and cut it open before applying the gravy. The food was okay for what I ordered, but the wait staff was in disarray. My waitress announced she was quitting at the end of her shift. Food and customers were not being handled very well from what I could tell. I hope that the owners get a handle on things quickly or this will go under. read more

I don't like to hate on a new local business, but yikes! We went early in a Saturday and were seated at the last available table which was in front of the cold, drafty entrance. I looked around and only one table had food, which should have been our first clue. Very nice waitress brought coffee quickly and took our orders. Wait for food was on the long side but not totally unreasonable. Not so for the couple beside us who were there when were seated and waited another 5+ minutes before served. The food arrived and was all over cooked. I had the Hibernator which is essentially chicken and biscuits. I would imagine a place with biscuit in their name would have yummy fluffy biscuits, but ours were dry, heavy and over baked. My husband seriously choked on his to the point he had to leave the building. Water is not served without asking so he had nothing to wash it down with. My chicken was cold and over cooked or maybe old grease. We both left bacon on our plates. How can bacon be bad!?! We left most of our food, but hey, the fruit cup was good. I hope this is just a bad day or something, but I doubt we go back to find out. read more

I was so so on big bear. Went during the week early morning, crowded but no wait. It reminds me of a hospital cafeteria inside...it's not warm at all. The biscuits were good but the honey and apple butter were gross. The food didn't come with all the things it listed it would on the Bears and the bees. My guy got the Big Bear skillet. It was actually pretty decent. We agreed next time we'd either split a skillet or just get biscuits to go and use our own jams and jelly. read more

We have been to Big Bear several times since they opened in Brownsburg. Service has been between good and great every trip. The food has been well executed. From a simple biscuit sandwich or biscuits and gravy, to the more creative items we have enjoyed them all. Jamie normally works the drink bar. She is fantastic. read more

If you want slow service, inattentive staff, and bland dry food this place is for you. Served an oversized, dried out biscuit and piece of chicken with so little flavor I barely ate half. Definitely not worth $15. read more

We ordered eggs Benedict and the full breakfast (which is 2 eggs, protein a biscuit and a choice of a side).. breakfast arrived potatoes and toppings were cold, biscuits was also cold and we had to ask for butter, poached eggs we're over overcooked. The only thing we liked was the biscuits, which were great! The rest of the food was horrible. Also, an observation, they appear to be using the old booths from the Dawson restaurant that used to occupy that location as well as the drinking glasses. It doesn't seem like they even tried to refurbish the booths and the drinking glasses were cracked and chipped. Sorry but this wasn't a good experience for us and we won't be going back. read more

Very disappointed. Went with a party of 4 and everything was over cooked and dry. Biscuits were hockey pucks. Chicken was very dry and over cooked. We were so excited to go and we won't ever go back. Tasted like they used leftovers from the day before. read more

My biscuit was burnt to a crisp and and the sandwich tasted like booty with the sauce. the latte also tasted like tomato basil and pumped with sugar. Pillsbury dough boy makes better biscuits than this. read more

Not sure where to start. Mainly, just do yourself a favor and go across the street to Breakfast Company, a million time better. The service was mediocre at best. Our waitress was unable to tell me what kind of cheeses were available to put in my eggs, she had no knowledge of the menu in general when asked any questions. I actually took the top off my biscuit and banged it on the table. We mentioned the biscuits were dry and hard to the waitress and she just said sorry. We paid over $70 for four breakfasts. When I saw that Big Bear Biscuit was opening a location in Brownsburg I was pretty excited. There aren't a whole lot of breakfast options in Brownsburg and the idea of having a place a little different was nice. My family almost always does take out. I tried to find their phone number to order but everything online was for their 96th street location. So I decided today that I would just go in and place a carry out order. The inside is really small. Maybe about 10 tables plus three chairs at the "bar". The woman who took my order was rude and acted like I was putting her out. I ordered my food and a drink. 2 biscuit sandwiches with home fries and a tequila cocktail. The drink was totally devoid of alcohol. They seemed to have a lot of people working but most of them just seemed to be hanging out in the kitchen eating. After about 25 minutes I asked the woman at the bar to check on my order. As she walked into the kitchen I could hear her making rude comments about me to her coworkers. About 5 seconds later she emerged with my order. The food was ok. Nothing special. If the people working would have been nicer I probably would consider going back. I can get a better breakfast sandwich at Hardee's for way less money and none of the attitude. Long story short...if you like spending money on subpar food, watered down drinks and being waited on by rude servers this place is for you. read more
