I cannot recommend Big Bad Wolf, whether you are stopping by for a drink or considering bookings. 1. Customer service is practically nonexistent when things go wrong. After a visit this past Friday night, my card was lost by the staff. Having to freeze my bank account to report the card as stolen, right before my rent and car payments are due. Went from a minor inconvenience to a massive headache. The lack of care or urgency from the team was disappointing. 2. The plumbing is severely degraded, and the general cleanliness feels like an active health hazard. 3. The space is dusty; if you have allergies, consider this a fair warning. 4. Poorly lit and completely unphotogenic. Contractors & Performers Beware If you are a DJ, musician, or contractor, think twice: Expect last-minute time changes, poor communication, and finding random equipment, tables, or chairs cluttering your setup space. 5. The power infrastructure is unreliable. If you run powered gear, DJ boards, amps, computers, or electronic keyboards, be prepared for electrical glitches. 6. Drunk patrons are constantly near performance spaces with no barrier. Powering through a four hour set only to have a drunk customer spill beer over your expensive personal gear is. . . just not fun. The surrounding area has safety issues, high crime, and a heavy street presence, making it easy for a night out to get ruined before you even step inside. The crowd inside is unpredictable, some nights are manageable, but often it feels like a total asylum. Save your money, your safety, and your expensive equipment by going elsewhere. I wanted to like this place and maybe under different circumstances I would have. But if you're not a regular customer already I don't think they really want you there. We Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Only two other customers in the place before we got there. A band called Bassanova was playing on the stage. They actually sounded pretty good. We asked the girl bartending if they always had bands on Sunday afternoons and she explained that they practiced there. They were actually a plus. The beer selection and prices are decent and it''s cool and dark inside which we were looking for on a hot June afternoon. Now for the not so great and reason for the two stars. The girl bartending who was only two feet away from us was more interested in her vape pin and her phone than the few customers in there bar. Even when we waited for breaks in the music to ask for another beer we had to ask twice to get her attention. My BF's second glass of beer had a chip on the rim of the glass and he nicked his lip. When he pointed out that the glass was chipped she didn't even acknowledge he said anything. He turned it to another side and just finished his beer. When she picked up his empty glass he again mentioned the broken glass and she jokingly said "Well why'd you break it?" She then came over and thoroughly inspected the glass before finally throwing it in the garbage without even an I'm sorry or any other comment even when he mentioned that it nicked his lip . The final insult though was when we when we were on our second beer, my BF asked if nobody was watching the TV, which was showing the movie Back to the Future IIit could be switched to some type of sports. After unsuccessfully finding a baseball game he chose horse racing, which he actually likes. After about 15 minutes another customer who seems like he comes in regularly came in and after a few minutes of taking to the bartender he must have mentioned something about the tv because she handed him the remote and without even asking if anyone was watching (which she knew we were) he changed the TV to a Big 3 basketball type game. My BF asked across the bar if we could at least watch one horse race before he changed the channel but either he didn't understand what he meant or didn't care that we were watching it. And to add insult to injury, he didn't even watch it, he just turned away from the TV and carried on a conversation with the bartender. read more

I was saddened by the closure of Rockabilly Grill, but its successor has delivered an improved experience. Big Bad Wolf is an absolute suburban gem for local music. If you know a guy with a garage band who does decent covers of dad rock, he probably plays here on Thursday nights. Every now and then, you'll still see younger artists and crowds, as well as frequent karaoke. The sound system is great, and the new paint job, especially the mural gives it extra character. If you can bear the consistently loud environment, the small menu carries some hearty bar food. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich, but the wings are solidly above average. If you want to dine while enjoying some entertainment in a welcoming, unpretentious environment, you can't overlook Big Bad Wolf. I hope it sticks around! read more

Big Bad Wolf - Cool little venue - Bars Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

I was visiting Tucson along with my brother to visit family. I looked up to see if the old Big Bad Wolf food truck was still around since we were just looking for some bar food and possibly visiting a brew pub. Yelp alerted me that it's no longer a food truck, but a bar and grill now. It had taken the place of the old Rockabilly Lounge. I had never been to the Rockabilly, but Big Bad Wolf is a pretty interesting place. I would probably label this as a dive bar or possibly a biker bar, but don't be fooled. They have live entertainment every day, open early and stay open late. There's plenty of parking in the back. There are also 2 entrances--the back is where the motorcyle over the entrane is and there's also a front entrance. The stage area is pretty large. There are 2 pool tables ---no cost to play. They also have a smoking area in the back which has some tables and a small horseshoe bar type area--no bar though but you can take your drinks food etc out there. A TV to watch sports. Now why you might want to try this--- very friendly staff, around 20 beers on tap, and exceptional bar food. I had the Big Bad Wolf which is a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw served on a hamburger bun with seasoned fries. My brother ordered the Cubano which he said was awesome--pulled pork, ham, pickle and cheese. We shared a basket of loaded fries which come with real bacon pieces, cheese and diced jalapenos. We also wanted to share a plate of wings. The wings and sauce are exceptional. Wings are pretty big and crispy -- no breading. They have a late night happy hour reduced pricing on drinks. Overall we were very impressed. A place to go for great comfort food, watching sports on the TV's or just chilling to some music. I hope they do well since I'll probably look them up again the next time I visit the Tucson area. read more

Fun local dive bar. Nothing fancy, a little slow: if no hurry, then no worry in life. The daily food specials are great.

If there is any way to give a 0 I would, not only was the customer service very bad. The pregnant blonde lady was beyond rude, she double charged my boyfriend and I. The amount was already taken out prior and it said pending on our app, she then proceeded to tell us to pay again. If we do not get back our money by the end of the week we will be calling to make a formal complaint. Not only was this a bad experience, the place was disgusting. It was a shame to drive almost 4 hours to experience something new to get treated the way we did. We ordered loaded PORK fries and she came out with regular fries (this was just the start), she then was rude to us when we brought it back up saying it was wrong. She was nothing but a bitch and we will never go here again. read more

Seems like they threw a couple of walls of orange paint and thought that was a REMODEL. We were there Friday 11/29/24 we are seniors and our party had 7. We got there and all they had was those HIGH TABLES with NO BACK. They need to add shorter tables to accommodate different age groups some people can't sit with their legs dangling all night and could be injured so ADD MORE SHORTER REGULAR TABLES. Service :ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, they've been open a few weeks from what we hear but no one comes to the table you have to go to the bar to order and this was the rude bartenders ( owner /wife ) recommendation DUMB IDEA, and if you DO get service plan on waiting 30-45 minutes even for 1 order of onion rings. The owner/s don't seem have the experience nor rational IMO to run a place like this. Should have done more research especially with age groups some people being mostly 55+. TOTAL WASTE OF OUR TIME AND $$$! The ONLY reason we went was to enjoy music , but based on the SERVICE, FLAT BEER and unsafe location we will NEVER COME BACK. This is a friendly place to stop for a beer any time of day or night. In the day it's a quiet shot and a beer joint. At night with live music they do a good job setting the volume - loud enough to enjoy, but you can still talk. Haven't had the food yet, but it looks good. Interesting menu. Bartenders are attentive, and sitting at the bar, my beer never gets all the way empty before I'm politely asked if I'd like another. That's a rare thing in Tucson! read more

This place was packed for fire code because of some of the best musicians in town. It is becoming the go to place for good food, good music and a great venue. It is a dive bar by tradition, but is immaculate and I feel perfectly safe there. Didn't with previous owner. The food is always good but I know there were some issues last night. Even with that it was a great night and we stayed an hour longer than we had planned. Keep up the good work. See you again soon. read more

I sm sad I was hoping the new owners would get it right. They did not. They treat their new hired help very poorly (would not let her have tips).She was not allowed to serve people. The drinks made by owners wife was horrible. Not sure what was in it. Service took for ever. I will only go if a great band is playing and will probably just have beer since they cannot make drinks. They have a lot of improving to do. They are not friendly at all. Bartenders don't smile. read more

I first learned of the Big Bad Wolf from Lil Red Riding Hood. I think she had a grudge tho - Because the 3 Little Pigs must have been Dee-Licious! At least they are at this cool new bar just down the street from where I built my house out bricks! Seriously, yummy Bar-B-Q Pulled pork Sandwich was the Special of the Day when I first stopped in for a Nice Cold Beer, it was Huge & Tasty enough to blow a house down just to get a bite. Tons of Fries & Slaw comes with it - And Not too pricey! Friendly Staff: Michelle was bartending, as was the Co-Owner Carrie (hope I spelled that right). The other Owner Bill makes up the Husband & Wife Team that put it all together there. It's a fun place with plenty of room and a stage for 2 or 3 bands a week & Karaoke and Trivia events too. It's even big enough for Private Events, or just watching the Game! I switched from beer to Vodka and Sprite tall - and Surprise! The Special of the Day was ANY Vodka in the House for $4! So no Tariffs on Vodka yet - I went straight for the Grey Goose - which would've been $10 anywhere else or at least $7. The friendly Staff was working on as many Green Drink St Patty's ideas as they could come up with - even let me sample some of them! This is a Friendly Bar! Can't wait to try them again! We have been several times to Big Bad Wolf for their Pub Quiz event on Wednesday nights. Food is decent, but a limited menu makes going weekly less than appealing. Overall, it is clean and tidy inside. However, last night (04/23/2025) was beyond a terrible experience! The bar was not overly crowded but it took a long time for server to take our order. We observed multiple other customers have to go to the bar to request service. When our food was FINALLY delivered (after a LONG wait) it was incorrect. Server did not clear our meal baskets or drink glasses/cups in a timely manner. When our bill arrived (after multiple requests), it had items on it we didn't order. We told server what we ordered to correct our tab only to have it presented incorrectly again. As much as we want to continue to support Big Bad Wolf and play Pub Quiz, we will not be back. Giving them a one star regarding last night's experience is generous. Please consider hiring more competent and attentive staff. read more

This is a review of the soft opening 10/5 of the new Big Bad Wolf, formerly Rockabilly's Grill. A soft opening is just that, and one hopes that they do get the bugs worked out if any, to go forward. . Rockabilly's has been in Tucson for a long time and in dire need of better management ,cleanliness, better service, better food, etc. That being said, even the soft opening of the new bar was a major improvement. The place was cleaned up and had a fresh coat of paint on the inside, the music was good, and the food seemed excellent. The one problem we had was that we tried to make a reservation for 20 people and they wouldn't take it. They said they couldn't do that yet. They weren't set up for it. OK so it was a soft opening and they aren't completely open yet, no problem, so we arrived early enough that we could get two tables to cover our group and they seemed glad to see us, There were two servers working the floor and niether of them would serve us. We asked for a waitress, to no avail. The bar was packed and we had to wait in line at the waitress station to order, all drinks and food. They missed a lot of drink and food sales, as most of the group couldn't or wouldn't wait long enough to get a second or third drink, so they just went back to dancing. They probably just did not anticipate the turn out. Aside from needing more servers, all in all not a bad soft opening. read more
