Attentive and helpful. Smaller store, but there were enough people working to help the customers in a timely manner!

I finally decided to head to this business after seeing they scan your foot as part of the process. I am so happy to have gone here! They scanned my feet and also studied the way I walked. I was helped by Elle who was kind and professional. She recommended a 3D foot insole as well that would be specific to the data found on the scan. All in all 10/10 experience and I'm hoping the insole helps with the issues I've been having as I have ramped up my fitness routine. It's great that they have a 30 day return policy just in case it doesn't work out (but fingers crossed!). As far as cost, the shoe seems pretty standard at about 150$. The 3D printed insole is about 120$. Overall, I am very hopeful that this will work due to all the data they gathered. Fingers crossed!

The gal who fitted me did an excellent job even though I am not an athlete, I am not super young, and was in unbearable pain. If you are hesitant- go here, they respectfully assess your feet and gait using a step technology then fit you with what works. I will never go to another store, this is the place. My feet require surgery with screws and all and a year later I am walking comfortably (never thought I would say that!). Spend the little extra on custom insoles- it is SO worth it.

They also have camp cookware, fuel canisters, and freeze-dried foods. They also carry solar-powered electronics, battery chargers, and other devices. This place is like a supercenter for outdoor recreational activities. I could spend extra hours in the store, just browsing, and marveling at all the options they have. Some of my favorite items are The Walker's Digital Electronic Earmuffs for indoor shooting protection and the Salty Crew Apex Perforated Long-Sleeve Hooded Sunshirt for style. Although several items are pricey, they do offer memberships and various discounts to reduce the damage to your pockets. I usually frequent this place twice a month, sometimes just for a browse for sales or to find items that I do not currently have on hand that will be very useful in the future. Oh, and I just absolutely love interacting with service reps because they actually love what they do in their job. If you or someone you know enjoys adventurous outdoor activities, there aren't many places that have the quality and quantity that Bass Pro Shop offers.

After repeated poor customer service experiences, I've decided to stop shopping at the Tacoma Bass Pro Shops and will likely take my business elsewhere altogether. At the Tacoma store, asking for help consistently feels like an inconvenience to employees. Checkout interactions have also been cold and dismissive, both in tone and body language. Recently, my wife asked whether she qualified for a military discount. Instead of explaining the requirements, the cashier abruptly asked, "Where's your military ID?" That exchange reflects the way we've been treated there on multiple visits. The one exception to the lack of attention is the credit card pitch. Employees are quick to approach you about signing up as soon as you walk through the door, sometimes so persistently that it feels awkward and intrusive. I wish that same attention went toward helping customers once they're shopping. I had a similar experience at the Cabela's in Lacey while purchasing a firearm. I didn't know I needed to sign in on a touchscreen before approaching the firearms counter. When I went to ask for help, the employee made me feel foolish for not knowing the process. Customers should be treated with basic courtesy whether they're spending $10 or thousands. These repeated interactions have cost Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's my business. I'll be shopping with a competitor.
