What a great experience here with Elle. I've been trying to find a comfortable shoe for me for a while as I've had some ankle pain with certain shoes as I've ramped up my fitness routine. I finally decided to head to this business after seeing they scan your foot as part of the process. I am so happy to have gone here! They scanned my feet and also studied the way I walked. I was helped by Elle who was kind and professional. She recommended a 3D foot insole as well that would be specific to the data found on the scan. All in all 10/10 experience and I'm hoping the insole helps with the issues I've been having as I have ramped up my fitness routine. It's great that they have a 30 day return policy just in case it doesn't work out (but fingers crossed!). As far as cost, the shoe seems pretty standard at about 150$. The 3D printed insole is about 120$. Overall, I am very hopeful that this will work due to all the data they gathered. Fingers crossed! read more

This store is excellent. I am not a runner, I have RA and went to get some shoes. About 2 weeks later, my ortho said these shoes are perfect- innersoles and all. The gal who fitted me did an excellent job even though I am not an athlete, I am not super young, and was in unbearable pain. If you are hesitant- go here, they respectfully assess your feet and gait using a step technology then fit you with what works. I will never go to another store, this is the place. My feet require surgery with screws and all and a year later I am walking comfortably (never thought I would say that!). Spend the little extra on custom insoles- it is SO worth it. read more

I had such a wonderful, personalized experience at Fleet Feet! I came in with extremely sore feet and sharp ball-of-foot nerve pain, likely pregnancy-related and from wearing shoes that no longer fit well. The staff member who helped me was incredible. Had a great time and learned a lot of information! I made an appointment and had my feet/gait analyzed to get better recommendations for running shoes. My goal is to train and run a full marathon by the end of the year and I wanted some shoes for that. They had me try on multiple recommendations with and without inserts that I got good knowledge on different types. I ended up getting the Asics Novoblast 5's and have been using them super often! I like them better than my Hoka clifton 9 and could tell before just by trying them on in the store. I am currently homeless and DSHS offered to buy me any shoe of my choice (from Amazon), so I came to Fleet Feet to get some imaging and data for my feet, and perhaps a recommendation. I have extremely bad pes planus (flat feet) so it was time for a new and better pair of shoes that are better for everyday and stumbled on this location. Overall the service at this location is nice, friendly and welcoming. One of the associates by the name of Taylor was so amazing and very informative on the entire process from start to finish for finding the right shoe for me. We started with the feet screening and then she brought out different shoes for me to try on and she made sure that I was still informed and didn't leave without being satisfied with the perfect shoe. I appreciate the effort and value that Taylor put in to finding me the perfect shoe for my needs. They also have a small selection of nutritional things for people who are into that. The service here is great. I wish I'd gotten the name of the salesperson who helped us, but he must have brought out 12 different pairs of shoes, really trying to find something that fit so we could walk away with something. We were really particular, wanting to get Oofos slide ins, trying out Hokas, etc. For some reason the shoes we were interested in didn't have the right size or colors. I'm very particular about my feet not being squeezed into a shoe because it can give it takes a while to for the bridge of my foot to recover because it hurts to the bone, so finding something comfortable was hard. My sister loved the shoes she tried, but most of the shoes we wanted weren't in store, but located at the Seattle location which is owned by someone else. I really wish we could've made something work out because our sales guy worked hard to us on Saturday, but it wasn't to be. Even though we walked away disappointed, I gave the place an extra star because the two employees we encountered were super nice and really made us feel like they cared. read more

She broke everything down so well. I totally trusted her. She did a wonderful job of bringing out the shoes that would be a best fit for me in addition to the style, and color I was looking for. This is a bit of a dramatic story, but it's true so I figured I'd better share it. I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia and I've had chronic pain in my hips my whole life. I'm lucky, though. Most people born at the time with the severity of my condition have at least one hip replacement or surgery by age 35 if not earlier. My parents fought for a new (in the 1970s) treatment that was a game-changer. At 33 I was able to run 30+ miles a week. A few years later, however, I was in massive hip and knee pain and my doctor said "stop running or get your THR now" because I have so little cartilage left. So I stopped running, instead I hiked and mountain biked. But I was a runner in my heart. I had dreams about that feeling when you step off and just feel like you're soaring during a run. Two weeks ago, while moving my son into college, I had bad pain in my outer foot and went into Fleet Feet because I'd only packed cruddy fashion sneakers. I have always had very high arches and supination - and I told hte sales associate that - but agreed to a fitting just for fun. The sales associate, Codi, was so nice and patient and as I looked in the mirror during my foot scan I noticed my arches are lower now. I've had many shoe fittings in my 30s, always high arches, supination, and destroyed shoes on the outer edges. Codi broke it to me - I now have medium-low arches. Codi patiently helped me as I figured out what that meant, helped me try no less than 8 pairs of shoes, and got me inserts. Finally, in my first pair of stability shoes, I felt great. But it was weird. How do your feet just change?? In my first treadmill session (where I do major incline to keep my HR up) in my new shoes the next week, I tried running just for fun because sometimes even like 10 steps running feels good, reminds me of that feeling of freedom. And I could run. Like, I could REALLY RUN. I lowered my incline and ran 1.5 miles and when I was done I almost cried. Codi - thank you thank you thank you. And to the other sales associate that day who entertained my 5 year-old and gave her a "fitting" while I tried on the last two pairs of shoes - thank you, too! Yesterday I ran 2 miles on the treadmill. I will probably never get back to 30 miles a week or be able to run on pavement again, but I cannot tell you what it meant to me that you helped me find my feet again. read more

I made a $249 purchase for shoes on my debit card last week. The store charged the card and received the payment the first time. They ran the card two more times and said that the purchase didn't go through. I gave them another debit card and they ran that one a few times as well causing both of the cards to be shut down for fraud. After calling to get the cards turned back on the store told me to call them in 72 hours to see if the transaction shows up. I went to the store in person after 72 hours. my bank already confirmed the purchase went through and I was ready to pick up my shoes. The store then confirmed they never received payment. I have to wait 120 days to disputed the transaction for a pair of shoes. Will never shop at this store again. read more

2 years ago or so I was fitted for and bought a pair of Brooks Pure Cadence running shoes here that I used for road running and a few 10k's. With the 4 mm drop, it was my first attempt to going more toward a minimalist, natural running shoe previously loyal to the Asics 2100 series... I loved the colors, seamless upper mesh comfortable for my not narrow, yet not wide forefoot along with the non-moving tongue. They were great for long runs. Recently, I was seeking to replace these shoes; I went to various local running stores before coming back to Fleet Feet. After going to three different stores and the sales associates at these store simply replying "no" they didn't have my shoe along with the fact they did not offer to be fitted into a comparable shoe (I used to work at a shoe store and find it helpful trying something versus nothing! I'm ready to buy some shoes!) - I decided to make a trip back to Fleet Feet Tacoma... & they didn't disappoint! Although they didn't have the Brooks shoes I was hoping for, they had me try the current natural running form promoting shoes and I was pleasantly surprised to find a comparable shoe! So most men go through mid life crisis and buy a car or a motorcycle....not me...I had to decided to get back in shape and run.... I met this amazing woman who knows everyone at Fleet Feet and runs with them regularly. She took me in to the store to buy my first pair of running tights (never thought I would ever do that) and the woman that were working in there that night were so awesome and helpful that all the embarrassment that I was feeling quickly went away. They are a smaller store with a very good selection of running gear and accessories. The best thing you will find at Fleet Feet is the knowledge and history that everyone there has. Everyone not only works there but are runners themselves and are active using the gear they sell. You can go in and they will fit you for all of your needs based off of running style and comfort. The service is second to none. They never try to push anything on you and helpful and courteous as they come. Also they have runners groups that get together on Saturdays and certain weekdays and will help you train for a 5k, half, or full marathon. I recently have gone to a few of these and have had a blast and met some great people in the process. I did get a new pair of shoes there as well and will keep coming back. As for the mid life crisis....well...I still plan on getting a motorcycle but until then in the immortal words of Forest Gump....I am a running.... read more

I have feet that are not easy to fit. A women's size 10.5 narrow, with the right arch support to fit my orthotics and not aggravate my plantar fasciitis. And yet, for some reason (I love it), I still insist on running and trying to find the perfect running shoes. I do not have the sort of feet where I can shop just anywhere or where I can buy whatever shoes are on sale. I pretty much exclusively get my shoes at running stores. I liked running on the treadmill and having them show me how my foot hit and at what angle. It was very interesting to see. The staff is very knowledgeable and takes a lot of time with you, which I appreciate. Imagine my happiness, since I have such long, narrow feet, at discovering a cute shoe in my actual size. Well, they had to order them. Then they called and said that they could only find them in a color I didn't like. I said I really wanted the cute ones. Then she spent additional time trying to find me the exact shoes I wanted. I appreciated the effort of going the extra mile. My friend with almost identical feet (what are the odds?) also got her shoes there (same ones, no joke), but they sold her an 11. They ended up being too big and she took them back with no problems. It's important with a running shoe, in my opinion, to be able to return them after you have worn them. Because you don't always know how they will work until you actually start running in them. Also, if you are a well endowed woman, they have an awesome selection of sports bras. I bought one I was sure I would hate. I told the salesgirl that I didn't even want to try it on, since it was such a monstrosity. But, realistically, if you are taking your DDs on a run, you need to strap them down, and so I bought it. And the movement is almost nonexistent. I didn't realize that they had such a great bra selection, so definitely recommend them if you are chesty. So, between my new shoes and my new bra, I recommend Fleet Feet. read more

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a practical person. I drive a sensible car; I live within my means, and I have a closet full of plaid shirts. However, as with any rule, there are exceptions. My exemption comes in the form of fitness equipment. I even buy my gas at Costco. If you show me a good pair of $170 running shoes, I am whipping out my debit card as if it was burning a hole in my wallet. As a result, I am happy to announce that the Tacoma Fleet Feet location is excellent. I have purchased two pairs of shoes from them and have had a terrific experience both times. Perhaps the preeminent quality of the store is the lack of pressure. Admittedly, they have a small selection. However, they still have a wide enough variety to fit the needs of regular runners to those who are just beginning. Whether you take an overzealous approach to fitness shoe shopping like me, or, you are looking to start walking or running, I would highly recommend visiting Fleet Feet. I should mention that the store is small. Therefore, you may have to look elsewhere for clothing or accessories. However, when it comes to your shoes, this is the place to go. read more

Went in and got a pair of shoes from a brand I never heard of and they feel great. They watched my feet as I ran and told me I probate which I knew because I have the world's flattest feet. They brought out 7 pairs for me to try and the test socks were so comfortable I bought those too. I like how they provide you with many options and listen to want you want while mixing it with their technology recommendations. I am not sure how the other reviews are so good. I have been waiting for months to have the time to go there. I am an overweight average looking person I use running shoes to walk my dog and for a gym class. I walked in and there were three employees in the store, now they were both helping people but they also both walked by me and said nothing, like "I will be right with you" or "thanks for coming in, someone will be with you soon" anything would have been better. I left there feeling horrible, like unless you are an ultra athlete or someone dressed to the 9's you will not be acknowledged, I was really disappointed. read more

What an awesome shoe store! If you are a runner, novice or expert, these guys can help you out. They take their time and measure your feet sitting and standing, then record you as you run to see what your feet/ankles actually do while you run. After everything is reviewed they will bring out a selection of shoes and work you through which one feels better and keep going until you find the one perfect for your foot.
