God Bless this Big 5 store! It's been here since the inception of Terra Vista along with Target and it's still going strong. I couldn't find my hydration backpack from last year and needed one in an hour. I drove here and found one at 9 a.m. There was no line, the employees lead me to the hydration backpack section and went through one or two of them with me. I left in a hurry but happy! This store has come in clutch more than once in mine and my family's lives and it's easy to miss, but I implore you to try looking for whatever sports gear you needed here first. read more

This location has been meeting with all my sporting good needs. The few times I had to return items, the management had been quick to assist me. Whenever I had questions, the staff was willing to answer them or search for the answers. They had good sales on the items I needed and I was happy with the selection of products. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I came in the store today. No greeting! Neither cashier asked if needed help. We went to the area where the boxing gloves were. We were over there for about 10 minutes, no one came to offer help. I had to walk back to the front to ask for help where the young lady proceeds to call someone over the speaker instead of help us. I'm giving it 5 stars because I actually made a purchase and was very unhappy with the condition it was in when I opened it. But when I called Frank, the manager at this location, he immediately calmed me down and went about and beyond my expectation to appease the situation. I drove 35ish minutes to get here and had to come back for my discount but Frank helped me personally with a smile and was even very engaging in conversation and helped explain what was happening with their business (because of Covid 19 shutting them down temporarily). I was surprised he wasnt upset or bitter and even more surprised that it was easy for both of us to reach an agreement. I would definitely come back and make the drive if I needed anything read more

They only had a cashier and two other employees just hanging around. Asked about restrooms and they closed them after Covid. Never opened them again. Now I am in line to pay but the only cashier that is opened has a problem and took more than 5 or more minutes. I asked for a new cashier and got it. Had to run to the nearest restroom. This branch deserves more than the current rating! Customer service is way better here than Upland branch. I am not a hard to please customer. I'm happy just to have a pleasant and smooth experience. Just the "basics" of retail is good enough for me. I been here three times and the staff, no matter who's assisting me, is always prompt and courteous. I guess that reflects from manager Frank positive demeanor. 1st time was about discount. It's not they're giving me more than the advertised sale/discount but just a simple gesture of offering me one when I didn't have a coupon on hand and they applied it on all my camping gears. They separated my stuff into a couple of transactions to be able to lessen my expense. 2nd was the soccer ball my husband bought from another branch. It deflated sooner than we expected a Nike would. Their branch just so happen to be the nearest at my son's soccer practice so I decided to try and exchange with them, (I didn't have the receipt). Again, phenomenal customer service. It took a little while but it's very much worth it. 3rd pleasant experience was today which driven me to post a yelp review. I need a staff to help find a shoe so I asked help from the cashier/manager so he could page somebody and just like that - a guy came out in less than 1 minute!! Unlike yesterday's experience in Upland, the assistant manager, who's not helping anyone, needed to page a shoe staff three times (10minutes wait) to get the phone order I made earlier. I highly encourage for us to help this store boost up their yelp rating. They certainly deserve higher. read more

Getting help is like mission impossible. I came to pick up soccer cleats for my daughter. Saw what I wanted, knew the size, didn't have my daughter with me so there was no drama with trying on... I still waited forever. I felt purposely ignored. After the worker, who clearly saw that I was looking for help, finally acknowledged me said he would be with me in a minute, then went and helped others that were randomly approaching him. One star is generous. The person in the shoe department was the rudest employee I've ever encountered. Walked by us and helped others even though we were there first. Wouldn't make eye contact and when I finally spoke with him he was rude. I'm not sure if it is because my friend is openly a lesbian or what. I sure hope not. A smaller Big 5 location. You would think they would have great customer service here for being a smaller location. Some of the other veiws that were posted are right on the money. They lack customer service here. You could be here for a long time waiting for someine to help you if you dont go and find someone. This place is great! I enjoy shooting and talking about guns, the ammo department worker does as well. We spoke about rifles and handguns for over 45mins and he answered my questions. Also the workout equipment there is all brand names and fairly priced. I actually bought my entire gym (dumbbells, bench, and bars) from this store, as well as my workout outfits. Came in with my boyfriend to pick up a firearm some guy named fransisco or Francesca something like that was rude and didn't know what he was doing. He even asked us how to use the rifle during the safe handling portion of the release. On top of this he was working in a grey tshirt that had food stains on it and black basketball shorts. Seems like this location is really going down hill. Maybe hire competent and professional employees especially ones who are handling firearms. Dont know how this guy is still working here. read more

I bought a portable camping grill from here a few weeks before we were off to the Seqiuoas and I'm really glad I opened it before we left. There were parts missing! so it was unfortunate that I had to run out late at night in search for a camping stove less than 6 hours before departure. I was a little hesitant only because some of the items in the store look like they have been previously opened, which is understandable but they should at least make sure that all the parts are in the box before reselving it. Anyway the reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the customer service is good here. I went to return the stove a couple weeks later without a receipt and the manager was nice enough to look up my receipt to validate the return. Ok, I was reading some of the not-so-good reviews and just had to say something. This is our go-to place for my husband's work shoes. We always get great customer service. For the size of the store, they seem to have a lot of what you would need in regards to sports, camping, hunting, etc. I like that they are small and so can give you personalized service.
