I cannot believe the experience I had with this business! I just got back from picking up my bike…read morethat I only purchased two months ago. The derailer hangar snapped and needed to be replaced. This is why I left extremely upset! I bought the bike to go on rides with my son. I bought a separate seat that is attached to the middle bar so my toddler can ride with me. Last week during my ride we came across a cross walk where I began to cross and needed to shift gears up as I had just came from climbing a hill. While in the cross walk I began to shift gears down and the chain came apart causing my back wheel to be stuck. I had to carry the whole bike with my son it to the other of the cross walk. The following day - contacted customer service for help. I was placed on hold, then HUNG UP on. I immediately called right back and got the same woman who then told me she could NOT help me because I exceeded the 30 day return. She mentioned that she would have exchanged it but the bike was sold out. She then informed me the only option for me was to contact warranty and she referred me to my manual for the number. Next day - google GT warranty. Department was closed after 5. (Called when I was off work) Day after - called warranty and was transferred to a different warranty because they handled my brand bike and found out the department was CLOSED due to COVID. I then contact DICKS customer service and some guy answered who seemed like he just woke up out of his sleep and was high. I couldn't even believe it. He was so out of it... slurring his words... couldn't remember the things he was saying... and his sentences didn't even make sense! He told me that the bike had a 90 day return policy and to bring it to the store for return. Because of my strange interaction with him I contacted my local Dick's sporting goods and spoke to the manager Becky. I told Becky my experience and asked her if it was true that I could return my bike. She told me that it was not and told me she understood the frustration with warranty as she has experienced the department being closed as well. She made me feel understood and knew exactly what I was talking about. She told me to bring the bike in the store and that we could fix it. She gave me a heads up that it would be a first come first serve and I was fine with that as I was in no rush and just wanted the bike fixed. I offered to buy the part on Amazon as it cost about $20 and could possibly get it quicker than if they had ordered it. She told me not to come out of pocket that the store would just go through warranty. I was so happy to have spoke to her because I thought finally some good service. Next week - I bring my bike in. I walk to the back where I knew the bikes were located and came across Bob who mentioned he was about to be off and to go the front where I will need to fill out papers. So I go back to the front and waited to fill out papers. The girl assisting me was helping so many other people I was just standing there. Not to mention I had my 3 yo old who wasn't as patient. I filled the paper work Bob comes to the front and tells ME what happened to my bike. Basically telling me that I dropped my bike (which I never did) that he can tell because of the scuff marks (my bike came with no kickstand and when riding my bike I def brush the pedal against the wall when I come to a stop at a bench) he mentioned the oil on my spokes came from the chains coming off because the hangar bent when I dropped it. Which wasn't true. Before bringing it my son had been spinning where the gears shift and was touching the spokes with hands. The fact that they were causing me what I DID with my bike made me feel a type of way. I didn't argue with him because that's what he thinks after fixing bikes for a long time that no matter what I said wasn't going to change his mind. 2 days later - Bob calls me to tell me my bike is fixed and ready to go! He was very pleasant to speak with and although I felt a way from him telling me what I did to my bike I was just happy that he fixed it so fast! He was kind and told me he was able to fix it faster than usually was because he had an extra part from a previous bike he had to fix. He told me I would not be charged for any labor and to just pay for the hangar. I expressed my appreciation because I anticipated it being there longer and told him I'd come after work to pick it up. While I didn't mention it to him that Becky told me warranty would take care of it I waited until I got to the store with hopes of Becky being there. Arrival - I go to the back and push the button since no one was in the section. Steven comes over and was RUDE from the get go. I let him know that I pushed the button and he was like "OKAY." I was expecting him to say something else and he just stared at me so I said "I'm here to pick up my bike" and he was like "Okay... name?" And so I said "Jacklynn" so he rudely opens the binder and keeps flip

The best part was when I called in with…read moremy requirements, Chris shortlisted the best of the lot (Matrix and Precor in my case) and guided me with options since there are so many choices out there to make from. It was then super easy and helpful to narrow down on the treadmill I needed. Treadmills are pretty heavy and we don't normally change them often. I think a good guidance is the key here, so we can focus on other things in life. He also recommended me to install a dedicated 20W power outlet for the longevity of machine (which was as per the manufacturer's recommendation) and a good quality mat with link to purchase from. I see how he cares for the customer and provides valuable data for us to decide on. Chris also offered me a good price for trading in my old treadmill. The price is unbeatable. All treadmills are serviced and as good as brand new for a fraction of the price. I did walk in to a showroom for a brand new machine which was much more expensive (after all discounts) for a lower level model. Chris also came by twice to install the treadmill and then the mat, as the mats were not in yet. I can't thank Chris enough for this machine. There is also warranty coverage and service available after the warranty expires. That's a complete package I would say.

I needed to purchase scope mounts to mount my full size rifle scope to a Gamo pellet gun. The mounting grooves that these pellet rifles have, make it difficult to find mounts that are secure. I needed to take both my scope and my pellet rifle to the store to try their mounts. Carrying a rifle (even a pellet gun) in full California public view, is a recipe for confusion, pre-conceived 2nd ammendment bias, ignorant Karens, and scurrying people in parking lots! Even though I "broke" the barrel (now folded in half) and hung it over my arm, clearly visible to be in a non-operatable position, too many people are wholly ignorant of the California gun laws. I stood in the entrance of the store and calmly explained what I needed and why I was bringing my pellet gun into their store in this fashion. I assured the sales ladies that not only was it unloaded, but that when the barrel was in the bent, or 'broken' position this pellet gun was not able to fire at all. I didn't receive any excuses or personal bias. The manager came to the front, accessed the situation, and ok'd me to enter the store. While others may view this with "whats wrong with taking his pellet gun in the store" all gun owners, even BB and Pellet guns, know exactly what I expected to happen. However.... The staff was very helpful, even though we weren't able to find the mounts that I needed. I do appreciate their professionalism and the Manager's knowledge of gun laws in this predominantly Blue state.

My…read moreexperiences have generally been positive--REI employees are typically friendly and helpful, similar to the vibe at Trader Joe's. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case at this location. The old lady that works there was unexpectedly rude during an unprompted interaction. With no eye contact or interaction between us she walked up to be and began speaking to me. When I looked up I was just confused because I wasn't even sure she was talking to me or the other person who also walked up next to me on the other side. When I didn't respond her attitude escalated and she spoke to me in a condescending, "talking at" manner, as if I didn't understand English. The completely unprovoked rudeness was so unwarranted.

Once I find a shoe I just keep buying it here because I want this brick and mortar store to stay open. When I called Precor support, their rep was pretty rude and condescending in general, but I managed to get the names of two authorized repair centers in the Bay Area. The first one in Hayward wanted to charge extra because they would have to hike down to South Bay so I gave Club Care a call. Gina who answered the phone was super friendly, quoted a fair price, didn't rush to get off the phone, and even put me in touch with someone there (Jeff) who could answer my questions specific to our elliptical machine and the problems we were having with it. I was impressed with how Jeff treats his potential customers. Anthony who came out to fix our machine was great - he quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it in no time flat and even answered all my questions about preventative maintenance for the future. Choice #1 was crap; the rep was totally uninterested in what was wrong with the bike, but totally interested in describing the high cost of having the problem diagnosed, fixed, etc... And so I called ClubCare. What a relief! Starting with the initial phone call and ending with the resolution of my issue, ClubCare provided outstanding service. Jeff (the guy who handled most of the situation) listened closely to the "symptoms" affecting my bike, and was able to provide a diagnosis over the phone and have a part ordered to be delivered to my house. I had the choice of installing it myself (to save the time and $ of having a ClubCare service rep come to my house) or have an on-site service call. I handled the repair myself, with some minor coaching from Jeff, and now I have a fully operational bike. It was really refreshing to have ClubCare explore the options that would work best in my circumstances and provide me with a reasonable price to fix the bike. Very different than Choice #1 (see above) that provided me with a rote, uninterested approach to my broken bike. I think ClubCare works mainly with health clubs and gyms (lucky them), but I have to say that ClubCare treated me (an individual bike owner) like I was just as important as any other "big" customer.
