Food was OK - I probably would not go back. We ordered the margherita and mushroom pizza as apps for the table. Pizza was enjoyable. Nice crust and good flavor. My son ordered the short rib rigatoni and it had to be sent back. The pasta was not cooked - it was hard. The 2nd time it was still a bit uncooked but it was edible. He likes al dente pasta but this was about a minute short of al dente. I had the ceasar salad with grilled chicken - bland chicken and the ceasar dressing had no flavor either. For $30, I really expected more. The portion was fine and the chicken was cooked nicely but there was no seasoning. Others at the table got the tuna sandwich, mushroom french dip and some sushi. I didn't hear any complaints. The atmosphere is nice and the service was good. The food is very overpriced and I think the dishes don't really match the price. read more

Walked in on a Saturday evening without a reservation and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and they can customize your drink to your liking. The snow crab sushi was made with fresh snow crab legs, but the mushroom tempura roll is even better!! I'm typically not a truffle lover but this one was just enough truffle for a slight hint where it wasn't overbearing. The Japanese chicken is some of the best chicken I've ever had! Margherita pizza was so good, you can taste the housemade sauce. But the big rig rigatoni is a MUST GET! they make their pastas in house and nothing beats freshly made pasta. This was one of the first restaurants I went out for dine-in after many takeouts and home cooking during the pandemic. My friend and I tried this place for lunch on a long weekend. I was a little bit hesitant at first since it had both Italian and Japanese dishes. Will it actually be good? We had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to seat us but I was awe struck by the ambience of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was very beautiful. We ordered the chopped rotisserie chicken salad and the mushroom french dip sandwich to share. Portions were big. The salad is enough for three people to share! The chicken salad consisted of chopped chicken, mixed greens, avocado, blue cheese, onions, bacon, chickpeas, and shredded parmesan cheese in a sweet and tangy dressing. It was very appetizing! The mushroom dip sandwich was very savory as well. Besides mushrooms, the sandwich also had gruyere cheese and truffle aioli. I didn't even use the mushroom au jus that accompanied it since the sandwich was delicious on its own. The fries were crispy but a tad salty. As for beverage, I tried the pineapple soda but there was hardly any pineapple taste. I would choose a different beverage next time. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. I really love the vibe of this place. It was a Saturday late afternoon on a rainy day, but you walk in and you feel like there might be the sun out. Was kind of a Miami or LA? Vibe. We sat right under the skylight. I would recommend that it gave us a really nice feel. our server was very nice and knowledgeable and had some great recommendations. We were a party of seven so we needed some good appetizers. The mushroom shiitake sushi roll is so delicious. The Japanese fried chicken was really great. Would definitely order these both again. We all enjoyed the smoked chicken salad a salad. Caulini and broccolini with romesco was so tasty! The mushroom pizza is really good and Hubby really liked the pizza with pepperoni and sausage. I didn't care for the pasta as much as some of the other group did if I'm going to get chicken Parmesan I'll probably get it somewhere else. However, the fusilli was quite nice. In short, I like this place! I'd love to come back on a weeknight for wine and pizza after work. The service was awesome. Our server had great timing and was very friendly and accommodating. We all agreed he had the air of a thespian - someone who is practiced with having an audience. And yet, he seemed very genuine. For drinks, we got wine and a whiskey. All as expected. For food, we split the burrata starter - YUM. The burrata was decadent and came with some chopped produce (apples? squash?) drizzled with some sort of cinnamon-y glaze, all alongside some big thing pieces of crusty bread. Divine. For entrees, I got the burger (solid, nothing special), another person got the short rib rigatoni (way less flavor than expected - disappointing), and another got the half chicken (TASTY, comes with two sauces, comes with no real side...literally JUST chicken). Some hits, some misses. The interior is quite large with lots of different seating - HUGE bar, low top tables, etc. We were seated in a room that felt somewhat separate from the rest of the restaurant - it was clear they use the space for events/private parties, as there is a massive curtain that could close off the room and the space also has a TV that was off at the time. It felt a little barren and isolated, but the host assured us it would be full quickly - and he wasn't wrong. Once other people came in, it felt much cozier. Came here before a movie on a Thursday night a week and a half back. Walking in it's very cute and all the staff were super friendly. We sat at the bar and got the cardi bee drink. I was like YUM is this my new favorite drink in all of boston?! It might be! Got very excited thinking I found my new place. But I have to say I was really disappointed by the burger. At $24 I feel like it should look and have more than something I unwrap from Burger King? The presentation was yikes (pic uploaded). Located on the Chestnut Hill mall strip, the exterior exhibits very inviting colors. Once inside, the place is simple and spacious with booths to one side. We came here for the Sunday jazz brunch and they didn't disappoint - the Winiker Jazz Trio were timely and gave a nice ambience that wasn't overpowering in sound but carried through enough to be able to still enjoy the music and talk amongst your family and friends. Even though the brunch menu was short, the lunch menu was also available. The food was solid - from the perfectly wood-grilled broccolini and caulilini, crispy brussels sprouts with bacon to the al dente rigatoni and short ribs. The highlight was the impeccably-placed wood-grilled smoked PEI mussels since typically they're just piled into a bowl and served that way. Not for Bianca - they gave attention to detail for this dish by making sure each and every mussel was standing so that you could see the inside very visibly! Through our dining stay, the wait staff was very friendly and attentive to the customers, stopping over in case we needed anything. Although on the pricier side, the food and service deserves coming back a second time. read more

What a really cute place! I loved the decor of the restaurant and the atomic era/mediterranean vibe. I came in with two of my friends and their two young daughters. The servers were very accommodating of the littles, even when the youngest (who is about 16 months) was a bit fussy and needed to roam around a bit. I went simple and ordered a margherita pizza, the truffle fries, and a glass of wine (luckily I ordered the wine as our server thought my friend and I were both ordering margaritas and not the pizzas, although that would have been a hilarious mishap). The pizza hit just right: really well made in the stone oven. I would love if the crust was a bit chewier, but I still really enjoyed it. It was also great the next day. My other friend really liked his tuna steak burger, and the eldest daughter ate all her spaghetti (which in itself is a ringing endorsement). We were two couples, each couple split a Caesar. The kitchen split it for us and it was a generous portion. The salad actually tasted wonderful. It looked like maybe kale and romaine lettuce. The romaine was in small pieces and all of it was browned. I did not want to say anything because I did not think anyone else notice. You know customer service is going to be top notch when you call twice without leaving a voicemail, but they STILL take the time to call YOU to see what's up! I assume there's a brunch menu and dinner menu (1pm is still brunch). Started off with a cocktail Cucumber Oasis, which was like a refreshing and light Sprite. Then ordered the Spicy Tuna which is very fresh and tightly rolled and you can taste everything from the sesame seed to the JUST right amount of spiciness. Also ordered a slice of pizza just to test the justification of the price if I ever ordered half/full pan which is quite pricey. Pizza was okay, and it was a decent size for a slice. Up til now, the menu is pretty basic and can more/less get them anywhere, but is made with the finest ingredients. The main item item I was curious about was the shakshuka, which after googling is a common dish among africans and middle eastern cultures. The best way to describe it is having poached eggs cooked on top of pasta sauce and you would use bread to dip into it. I also used the pizza to dip as well. The food is pretty standard fare (working on adding Sushi Tacos for breakfast), but I love the customer service here. Also, indoors is very roomy and bright and colorful. The music is all over the place, heard middle eastern, classical music and then shake your booty music. There's also outdoor dining available. Thanks @ the green hair girl with silly nose ring. High prices on all menu items are discouraging but I'd come back for this pizza and a glass of water. It pains me to write this for a newly opened restaurant but I hope that my experience only leads to improvements and leveled expectations so that future diners have something better to look forward to Bianca, or Mr Roni Cups, painted a great picture and sounded exciting but fell short in many ways while delighting in a few. The concept sounded great. I actually have gotten sushi and pizza before! But after this experience I question whether it can actually succeed under the same roof. From a value perspective I felt very let down. My order was approximately $120 because I love trying things but I felt like I only received $30 worth of food. Actually, to start things off, I discovered my take out order was missing $30 of food. My sushi tacos were missing! I would've driven home and not even noticed but I wanted to eat it right away before I hopped on the road so I lucked out I guess. Very crispy shell. Better than I had in Fenway! I think it was very light on seasoning and didn't appear to have any sauce. I don't know. They probably rushed it since I was standing around waiting. I also tried a slice of the pepperoni pizza right away. I knew it wouldn't be the same once I got home. Texturally, very different from any pizza I've ever had but did I like it? It was ok. It did feel light as described but I didn't find myself reaching for more. I think it's worth trying but from a flavor point of view it didn't do it for me. I did like the pepperoni though, just not everything together. The meatballs were super disappointing. It felt like I just got a dinky container with two small meatballs and some sour tomato sauce for $11. I don't believe there was even any Parmesan. Ok this roller coaster review keeps rolling. The highlight of my order was the rotisserie chicken which surprised me. It was juicy with crispy skin and nicely seasoned. Really happy with it and wish I ordered more than a quarter. I heard it came with sauces but I didn't receive any. It's actually even printed on my receipt. All I got was a chicken quarter in a giant take out box and some roasted fingerlings in another container. From their website... "CHICKEN PLATES Includes 'Tisserie Taters, local farm veg, house pickles, fennel tzatziki, and choice of Chimichurri or Peruvian Aji Panca BBQ sauce" so I didn't get any vegetables pickles or fennel tzatziki. I'm unable to review those for this reason. If it were included maybe I wouldn't have felt so ripped off. The purple edamame sounded interesting. I've had so much edamame my entire life but never purple edamame! Unfortunately, see the photo. I got this container of edamame that was so overcooked the skin was dissolving in my fingers and I didn't know if the color was messed up because it's purple edamame or it was boiled past the point of no return. I was scared. I'll update this review if I end up violently sick but I think I'm ok for now. Despite appearances it did taste OK, just like overcooked normal green edamame. I also decided to get the Caesar salad. Crazy flavor in the anchovy and looked great with all the shaved cheese. Croutons were stale. The lettuce leaves were quite big and fun to try and fit in my mouth. It felt like it was worth half the price. Don't worry we're almost done It's jelly donut time! It's so rare to find a place that'll make a unique donut so I was really looking forward to this. I cut it in half and I could see the donut was filled to the brim with jelly(actually in my opinion it was more like a jam given the texture) and even felt a bit crispy on the edges. So excited. I took a bite It felt so juicy And then it started dripping out the corners of my mouth But wait it was dripping too fast to have been this thick jam texture I just cut into And then I realized it wasn't jelly that was running down my face It was oil Oh man So much oil This donut was clearly cooked in oil that was not up to temperature Just look at the photo The paper underneath was saturated in oil, so much so that there was more on the donut. What dough there was that wasn't jam, dripped oil when I pinched it. It's really a shame. It could've been a great donut That's basically the summary of my review. It's a shame. It could've been a great experience. For such an accomplished restauranteur to open up a new restaurant (with a false start in March) and provide this kind of experience when as it is there is very little foot traffic and hardly anyone there in the restaurant is shocking. It's not busy. Plenty of time to double check orders before setting them at the front door. I missed all my tacos and pretty much all the sides to my chicken plate! I expect better when I pay this much. I'm honestly super disappointed but hopefully it can only get better from here. I'm always going to be in the area to shop at polka dog for my puppy but Bianca/Mr Roni Cups is not somewhere I'd go out of my way to eat at, not even if it's right next door. read more

We've been to Bianca three times and had overall pretty great experiences. The first time for a lunch date with my husband was the best. The lobster roll was on point and service was great. Second time, lobster roll didn't live up to the high expectations set by the first visit but service was still great. Kiddo had the Japanese fried chicken, which he enjoyed, hubs got a chicken salad he wasn't crazy about. seem Third time, i ordered cod that just didn't do it flavor-wise. Husband got a smoked salmon sushi roll he didn't love but liked enough, kiddo got cucumber avocado sushi roll he liked. Street corn as the app was v. good, and mocktails were tasty. Service was a little slow at first on this visit but the manager stepped in proactively, without us even saying anything, to apologize for the initial delay.. He comped us some items off our check, which honestly was more than I expected. It takes a lot for us to complain to the manager and we weren't even planning to do that, just wrote it off as a busy night and confusion behind the scenes. So the fact that he stepped up showed how much this establishment values good service. Ambiance is always great at Bianca. Somehow we've managed to get the same cozy booth each time. Food tastes good but a lot of menu items are WAY overpriced for what you get. For instance, my husband got the $24 burger that somehow was named "Best in Boston." It was a very small burger (2 oz at best) that just had some sauce and cheese slapped on it with shoestring fries. Wish we took a picture to post. Came for dinner on a Friday night in March 2022. Food is decent, but at the prices they're charging, I was expecting it to be better. Pizza - crust is thin, but soggy and not crisp. Half roast chicken - moist and flavorful, but the way the skin was falling off, not freshly made. Caesar salad and side of Brussels sprouts were overly dressed. Kids meals (spaghetti, hamburger), were $14/each. Has a grassy area right in front where kids can play. We found the service to be great. The interior was done very well and we loved the seating and the music list.
