So much potential, such high hopes, but ultimately disappointing. It was the overcooked chicken…read morethat caused this and, as expected, dark meat was much less affected by this than white meat. And since I prefer white meat, the dry white meat parts were literally tough to swallow. The white radish was aged well, perhaps too well, so it didn't have the crisp crunch we've come to expect. There were several things these guys did well that give me hope for a possible next visit. First, the sauce for the sweet chilli chicken was on point, and theirs is the sauce-y kind which I like. One of the three sides, the rice cakes, was my favourite part of the whole meal. The rice cakes were tender and a perfect bite size, and the sauce was the right blend of sweet and spicy that doesn't hurt my stomach. The dining room is nice and open, and decor was surprisingly whimsical (pictured). The vinyl glove was a nice touch and saved me from using utensils to get meat off the bones. I'd consider going back. When I do, I expect a solid 5-star experience.

What an awesome and homey place. Ample seating, and clean bathroom in premises. We got seated…read moreimmediately. The place was easy to find (fyi, mostly street metered parking). We ordered a chicken curry katsu, a 8 piece boneless soy garlic chicken, and 4 piece drumstick spicy soy garlic. We even got served little pre-meal treats before the courses came out; flavorful. The rice cakes were so fresh and none super chewy; just the right amount of chew and softness. All of it was delicious. The crispiness was nice without drying the meat; nor was it oily. For under $50, very much worth it!

Ordered: Whole Chicken - Large 18pc (~$26): half soy garlic…read moreand half spicy; with sweet & sour radish Sweet Potato Fries (~$5) Haitai Bong Bong Grape Drink (complimentary; ~$2 regular price) Aya's take: There is nothing better than some Korean fried chicken after a long day of being out & about. I've been to a different Boom Boom Chicken location but this one was cleaner, brighter, and had more seating. We were greeted by Esther the owner who was very friendly. Since we were hungry, we opted for the Whole Chicken which is the large option totally about 18pc. They have 2 main flavors so we got both. The chicken was so unbelievably fresh, crispy, and had just the right amount of flavor on every single piece. The soy garlic was savory and well-seasoned while the spicy was super tolerable but definitely started to kick in after a few pieces. I love that they put fried tteokbokki (rice cakes)! Since they were fried, it reduced some of that gelatinous, chewy texture and actually made it even more enjoyable. The Sweet Potato Fries were a nice addition and the sweet & sour radish are an absolute must with Korean fried chicken. The Haitai Bong Bong Grape Drink was refreshing and fruity; you even get real grape pieces that "burst" in your mouth. If you're in the area, you have to check them out! It's reasonably priced and I left feeling full & satisfied!

A Korean fried chicken spot that was just okay for us. We ordered the 10-piece soy garlic wings…read more The wings had an average crisp and average seasoning--nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it's a decent option if you're nearby and craving fried chicken
