My first time here and I booked with Tiffani. She was very kind, patient, and had amazing customer service.

I had a cut with the owner, Debbie. She might be amazing at what she does, but I left really unhappy with my hair, basically in tears. First, during our consult, it never really seemed like she was interested in hearing what I wanted done. As I tried to explain she kept interrupting me and kept insisting she knew. Actually, you don't know because you aren't listening and this is my first time here. I should have gotten up and walked out. I didn't partially because you have to pay for a portion of your appointment up front when you book. She starts the cut and during the entire service was just trying to sell me on other salon services... she says I needed different color and I should see one of her colorists and has the colorist come over to meet me, then says I need a Brazilian wax before I give birth, because I'm 8 months pregnant. Seriously?! You don't even know me!) She has the esthetician over to meet me. It was just beyond awkward. When all was said and done, my hair looked worse than when I came in, the layers were WAY too short and when I told her it wasn't what I asked for or wanted, she said she thought it would be better that way. Ok. Maybe that's true, but let's have that conversation and discuss before you just do whatever you want with my hair. It's going to take a year or more to grow out to get fixed. The final kick in the teeth was at the end she tried to sell me more product to basically undo the damage she did. Give me a great cut that I love first, then I might be more open to listening to the endless sales pitches. Needless to say, never going back and would not recommend to anyone. UPDATE: Another stylist offered to try to fix my hair after I wrote the above review. I went back to the salon and she took me to a shampoo bowl in a back room. Debbie, the owner came storming in and verbally accosted me saying, "You got to say what you wanted in that review, now you get to hear me." Well, I don't have a choice at this point because my head is stuck in a shampoo bowl. Debbie was literally was screaming at me at the top of her lungs, berated me for leaving the review I did, denying she did any of the things I said she did in the review, and said I should be ashamed for slamming her small business after all they'd been through during COVID. I'm still not sure what she was trying to accomplish in screaming at me, other than to get it off her chest? Also, she knew I was 8 months pregnant, but even that didn't seem to slow her down in absolutely losing her mind on me. Shortly after Debbie finished her verbal abuse and walked away, a 3rd stylist (who heard Debbie yelling?) came in to see if I was ok, I said "No. I've never experienced anything like that in my life." She asked the woman who was working on me, "What exactly did she say?" and she replied "Oh, just Debbie being Debbie." Apparently Debbie feels that kind of behavior is normal and acceptable?? From the way they are talking, maybe this happens regularly?? Absolute insanity at a level I've never experienced before in a salon. I texted my husband immediately after the incident to come meet me in the parking lot, because I was literally afraid of what Debbie might to do me as I was walking out of the salon. She seemed so completely unhinged & at 8 months pregnant I was genuinely worried about my baby. If you ever had questions about whether or not to go here, hope this helps! read more

The first thing I did when I got home from my appointment at Beautiful From Head 2 Toe was get on the computer and write this review. Why? So I wouldn't forget the best experience I've ever had in a hair salon. LOVE my hair cut. Debbie gave me the Deva Curly Girl cut (thanks, Kiki G. for your review) and my hair looks awesome. And when Debbie found out I had a Christmas party to attend the same night, she had my hair styled at no additional cost. Enough can not be said about the atmosphere of the salon. I felt like I was sitting around, shooting the stuff with my girlfriends. Everyone was open, friendly and chatty. I couldn't believe I was there for two hours! It just flew by. Update 2013-09: I have been going here now for a few years. I always get a quality haircut and style, Debbie is fun, the place is pretty relaxed and all in all a good experience. There is a difference. I don't have difficult hair but I do think Debbie does a noticeably good job that is worth it. My friend started going here too and his hair got totally noticeably better afterward. You get what you pay for I guess. More updates: I continue to go here. She has given me some hair style advice that made a noticeable difference for me -- I've been parting my hair the same way for years and she showed me how to do it without parting at all. It looks fan effing tastic. Follow up: So they told me if they got an opening the same day they'd call me. They did, which tells me they are reasonably organized, and I went, and it ROCKED. She colored my hair perfectly, then even waxed my eyebrows and she fixed my haircut from Great Clips for $10. LOL Great vibe, beautiful little spa, complete with massage, waxing, all sorts of shit, check it out. Lovely ladies running around laughing and doing amazing things. I might even spend $30 on my next hair cut just to see what happens. Really, very reasonable and a professional and friendly place. Full service but no pressure. And free apple cinnamon tea! Yaya! Original review: I have been hunting for a spot that does men's hair color for a reasonable price. Most places seem to assume it's going to be as hard to do my hair as it would for a woman. Hey, I'm a guy, my hair is 3" long, come on, $75 is way too much. Well, BFH2T only asks $35 for color, which I assume includes the chemicals, and they sounded very friendly on the phone, and busy. They also took the time to work with me on scheduling. So me likee so far. I made an appointment for Tuesday and I'll let you know how they do. I have tried everything on their menu, but massage, but I am pretty sure that is great too. Love the people, and their talent! They did my makeup for my wedding, and my nails and pedi, and I felt like a princess! The salon is fun and laid back, but still a nice quaint place. They also sell and use great products for hair and skin. If you are looking for an esthetician, go here! Debbie and her staff always make me feel so welcomed and at home the second I walk into the shop! Even if they are busy (which is often as people really enjoy it there), I have been made to feel special, as if I was the only one there. It really pains me to write a review like this but I felt like it was need especially to calm the ego of the business owner of the salon. My first time coming here was wonderful I did get a nice cut and Liz the one who helped me made my experience great. The new time I came about a month later I asked for a coloring service because I was a light blonde balayage. Instead I got a brown color and when I asked to come back to fix the color she agreed and took me in. Instead of fixing the mistake she made it worst and I could even recognize my own hair anymore nor did she even dry or curl my hair but just ran the product through my hair and put me under the dryer. It was an awful experience my hair was completely destroyed and the owner of the salon seemed like she had no intention is fixing the problem or even was willing to refund me the money. I drove about 1 hour and 30 mins trying to find someone who have coloring experience and who knew how to mange curly hair. Instead I got a mess. read more

I was really excited to get my hair done here. I have curly hair and after some research I thought this place would be perfect for me. I booked a consultation appointment to talk to the stylist about my hair, the only stylist available was Liz. I have never made an appointment in which I had to wait to get approved before going in, but I went with it. I made the appointment Saturday and didn't hear back so I left it at that. Monday I got a text from the stylist Liz asking me if I was okay since I didn't show up to the appointment. I thought it was super thoughtful that she reached out, as I didn't hear back about whether or not my appointment was approved I went into work. However, her reaching out felt like a slap on the wrist. After I apologized for not making it to the appointment and that I went into work she threw at me that that was time she could have had for another client, which I totally understand. But cmon, I never heard back about my appointment being approved or not, and she had MULTIPLE time slots when I booked. But okay. Liz proceeded to tell me to just make an appointment for a time where I'll make sure I'll go in. I'm just not all about someone making me feel bad about a 15 min apt that I never heard back on whether or not it was approved. I have never needed an appointment approved and I have never been patronized for a missed appointment. I'll take my business elsewhere, I don't need a stylist making me feel bad. read more

I was lucky enough to score an appt with Debbie before the SIP goes full effect for the second time. I have been researching stylist for a bit now as it is close to impossible to find anyone that is certification to cut curly hair. I ended up choosing this salon based on a few things and not in this order... location, Livermore is not far from Brentwood and I'm willing to drive to Livermore to have my hair done. Stylist... after much research I chose Debbie because she has been in business for 20 years, she's certified in Multiple curl cuts, Rezo & Deva just to name a couple. Anyone willing to go through such extensive training is someone I'm comfortable working her magic on my hair with 100% trust. She took her time explaining each product and each step as she went so I would know what to do once I'm on my own at home. Making sure to answer any of my questions. I truly appreciate her helping me to realize how to care for my hair without any judgement even when I told her I've been cutting my own hair, lol. I highly recommend booking with her if you're in your curly stylist search. You will not be disappointed! I don't want to forget the other ladies in the salon. I arrived a few minutes before Debbie and the gal that checked me in was very nice and welcomed me in right away and got me checked in and set up so I was ready. I came in, they welcomed me, gave me a tour of the place (cute retro design), and sat down to let Jasynn do her thang. She listened to my request. I learned so much from products, how to, and not to. The $175 wash, cut, and experience to teach the curl method is not worth the price. My hair stylist and I did not click. She did not try to talk to me or make me feel welcomed. I felt like I was her 3rd priority as she was working on 2 other hair appointments the same time as my appointment and she was listening to her coworkers conversations. I know this is pretty normal, but it took away from the teaching experience to not have the stylists full attention. I was also grossed out that the towel she used to dry my hair she put on the dirty floor before she put it on my head. I did not leave the salon feeling relaxed or that I got treated to a fun day at the salon. I do like the haircut, but the experience did not make me feel beautiful. I never leave Yelp reviews but I had such a bad experience. The cut of the hair was good but the amount of time that I waited when I had an appointment was crazy. I waited 3 hours and I should have just left 30 minutes after waiting. Another thing that frustrated me what the lack of communication the salon had prior to me waiting for so long. I was so close to getting up and walking out so many times and for the pricing of the haircut I should have left. I went to get my hair done January 15 By Shay at beautiful from head to toe me and my sister wanted about an inch off of our hair or just a light trip and moisture treatment and came out with roughly half or less the hair we came in. I would understand if we didn't come in asking for anything but it was extremely clear we just wanted a trim, after the cut when it was clear we weren't satisfied she repeatedly said said she "Checked in with us" when i can INSURE you she did not check in a single time, other than the cut which was the main reason we came, the moisture treatment was good but if you go in for a short trim i absolutely DONT recommend at all or at least not with shay, my hair was nicely cut and conditioned but i won't be able to get over the fact that my cut was maybe 7 inches or more less than i wanted. read more

I took my daughter for a trim yesterday and she was extremely disappointed with her experience and haircut. We booked the appointment thru yelp and scheduled with a more experience stylist. However a less experienced ended up cutting my daughter's hair. Per my daughter the she had to continuous her step by step instructions from another stylist. Which did not make her feel secure she's competent to do the job. This is what the end result looks like. So we will have to pay again for someone else to fix it. I went for hair color service, was suppose to get a blonde balayage showed a picture of what I wanted to the hairstylist Jason upon arrival, and it came out nothing at all like the image, and looks absolutely horrible! It also damaged my hair and looks like a cheap, damaged discolored hair job that came out with orange and greenish tones, and is going to take a very long time to repair and look back to some sort of normalcy. Do not go here! Do not waste your money and your time at this place. They do not know how to do color. They are not experienced enough to do color. I am requesting a full refund. Zero Stars. My daughter and I highly do NOT recommend this establishment. We were put through the wringer with this expensive hair salon and the absolute lack of customer care skills. My list of complaints is extensive, emotionally upsetting, and appalling. Writing my formal complaints to the CA Board of Barbering and Cosmetology has actually been hard on my health. I'll also be contacting the Better Business Bureau and other agencies. I think most ladies will agree that we go to salons for a little pampering. I do very, very little in terms of pampering. It is upsetting when pampering services end up being frustrating and painful. Simply put, my daughter and I bought s "discount" services packages. We paid $50 each for this package for a few services. The package deals truly are not deals. The upselling on those package deals is off-the-hook high pressure. WHOA! Please, save yourself money and do not buy into those package deals sold by solicitors. At the time bought the packages. As per Yelp, Debbie posted an ad for Free Haircuts with a paid hair color service to everybody. I believe that offer was posted on 9/26/09, after my hair cut "deal." My daughter was OK with her hair cut. The color became extremely dull within a week; completely faded away within a couple weeks. Flunk. Debbie cut and colored my hair; two visits. Sadly, I became ridden with pain after the hair coloring visit. While coloring my hair, Debbie told me it was my turn to work (?!). She instructed me to put my neck and head down to my chest so she could more easily reach the hair roots. I sat in that position for about 15 minutes....not a comfy position. Some pampering, huh? She also worked on another client's hair color at the same time. I was booted from the chair three times. I spoke up and Debbie did apologize, which is appreciated. My hair color washed out IMMEDIATELY. It was as if she used a temporary color. During an in person visit to the salon, I expressed my disappointment with the color washing out. Debbie did not care at all. Her response to me was actually just as bad as the shoddy hair coloring job. She offered no remedy to fix the color. All she said was that she'd color it a shade darker the next time. Hmmm...next time? Think not. Debbie also did a pedicure on my daughter. Debbie had previously told her if she upgraded the pedi, it would be done by the pedicurist there, which did not happen; Debbie did the pedicure. Sadly, another injury. Geez! Following the "pampering" pedi, my daughters toe tips became hardened and then peeled many painful layers deep. Yes, more pain. As mentioned, I expressed my hair color disappointment with Debbie IN PERSON and she did nothing to remedy the issue. The issue bothered me enormously, I am sooooo fed up with subpar service. Dealing with issues like this is emotionally brutal for me and bad for my health- no exaggeration. Yet, I gathered the courage to call Debbie. My daughter and I were so disappointed in the service and I had to speak up again. I called the salon and Debbie was busy. She told an employee to get the details from me to relay to her. I told Bri (I believe) my complaints and request for services refunds. I am very honest and told Bri that I was giving Debbie a chance to remedy my complaints prior to filing formal complaints with the state. I feel that is fair- give her another chance. Bri said Debbie would call me back the following morning. I turned my phone off so I could sleep. Instead, Debbie called soon after I turned the phone off. Via her vm, she said she'd call later that night or the next morning. Debbie Never Called Back. As per the BFH2T web site's Mission Statement, it is posted that the salon guarantees the quality of our work each and every time. Interesting. Simply put, without a doubt, this salon has let my daughter and I down more than any other local salon. BTW- I had to begin a regime of a muscle relaxing Rx to help that back pain due to Debbie putting me to work while she colored my hair. My haircut was a joke. Her "artistic" cut was a mess. I had another stylist fix her errors. The reviews written for this salon right after my review were posted that attack me are interesting. I was attacked and bullied via private messages because I was treated poorly? Hahaha. Go figure. Yet, that behavior is exactly what I had expected from this salon. I have all of the screen shots of the messages as proof. BTW, the salon offers discounted services to those who write five star reviews. Hmmm. It is a shame the other low star reviews for this salon don't appear in the business listing. I am not alone with receiving sub par services- trust me. I have much more to write regarding the salon issues, so I'll have to write a review update. read more

Thanks to Kiki G. and her great review of, Beautiful From Head 2 toe. My daughter has stopped bitching about her curly hair. The gals at this salon are so enthusiastic and helpful. When we arrived we were given a tour of the salon. A very sweet house that is converted into a spa. I must say it is a very comfortable atmosphere. Daughter got the Deva curl cut. Oh my!!! What a great cut. Every morning she would come out of the shower shaking her head and smiling. I believe after 47 years she has finally found someone who knows curls. I rarely put out a review but such a wonderful salon! My teen daughter inherited my curls but learning to love them and find her style has been tricky. So thankful to the BFH2T team. My daughter has had great experiences with both Ashley and special thanks to Debbie today for creating a whole new style for my daughter. Summary: cut was great, "deva" experience was a waste of money. Pros: - Great cut! Briana cut my hair dry, and even though she pulled and played with it and lost some of the curl before the cut, it's awesome! - She consulted an updo stylist at the salon about keeping some length on my damaged hair so I can still style it for my wedding. - She offered to trim a piece of damaged straight hair anytime I need her to, so I don't make the mistake of chopping it off before my wedding. Cons: - 30 min late (pro - they actually called and told me about 1/2 hour before my appointment, but then they were still another 15 min late) - A lot of hair salons cut curly hair dry now, and not under the guise of a "Deva" cut, it's just common sense. - The "Deva" experience for me wasn't what I expected. I thought maybe we'd talk about my curl type, the cut that would work best for my face shape, what products to avoid, etc. Instead I had a dry cut, the Deva products were used on me, I was plopped under the drying hood then diffused after she finished another client. For $81 it seemed like a waste. I've had curly hair for 30+ years now. Nothing I learned was groundbreaking, guess I was just hoping to have more knowledge from the experts afterwards. Not sure if all salons offering "Deva" cuts are like this, will definitely update this if I try any others out. read more
