I've had good experiences at this salon before, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I came in asking for a blended bob with soft, gradual movement. Instead, I received a cut that resembled disconnected, step-down layers, with the back longer and heavier than the front and a blunt, bowl-like perimeter. It did not resemble a proper bob and felt more like an unblended layered cut than the structured shape I requested. When I politely tried to explain my concerns and asked if it could be adjusted, the stylist was dismissive and condescending. Rather than listening or trying to correct the issue, she made me feel like my concerns weren't valid. At one point, she even laughed, which was extremely unprofessional and upsetting. What bothered me most was not just the technical mistake, but the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to take accountability or help fix it. This review is for Violet. From the start of the consultation process to actually doing my hair i am ecstatic. I was told previously by another stylist at a different salon that my hair had to wait months before it was safe to touch or that so much of it needed to be cut off sadly and thats with a major event coming up..I didnt give up hope and heard of Violet through a friend of a friend. Went in on a morning during the week and thankfully is super close to my job. Parking is conveniently across the street in a parking garage and free. Violet was very realistic based off my inspo pics to get blonde highlights (almost ash blonde). Initially let me know my goal would take a few sessions to achieve considering I had dark brown hair with red tones that were gonna be tricky to lift. I told her i was okay with at least lifting to a caramel color. Her demeanor was very sweet and she told me the complete opposite about how my hair was definitely okay to work with and YES i did need moisture but all is possible with masks & future care. Booked her immediately after our consultation in the parking lot almost a month in advanced. Fast forward to today , during the lifting process she realized could go lighter (what i initially wanted) We were able to achieve inspo pics without so much damage or cutting of my hair! She made sure I was okay throughout process. Simple things such as "am i pulling your hair? is the water okay or too hot?" I have gotten so many compliments and its only been a few hours. Your intentions and efforts would have been better received had you sought to reach me directly and sooner. You made no personal effort, and this online display is a clear attempt to save face on this platform. Unfortunately, your response reads as a deflection of accountability and a demonstration of who you are as a business owner. A simple, "we're sorry and striving to do better" would have sufficed, and to be honest, probably would have been more effective in achieving your desired outcome of me removing my review. Christine kindly mentioned this via text, I'm assuming at your request, to which I responded with my understanding of the implications of such a review and my consideration. Truthfully, I'm still bothered every day I brush, wash, or run my fingers through my hair and don't feel removal is warranted at this point in time. I'm sure you've been waiting on it, hence the delay in your response, but to wait until this much time has passed for intervention and then deliberately choose to place blame on the work of a previous stylist (from over 6 months prior to stepping foot in your salon) is unacceptable. While I can appreciate Christine's ownership of the issue, reaching out, and issuing the refund, I felt compelled to decline her offer of a fix attempt as I already had lost confidence. Likely, this is where you should have stepped in. Why would a client feel the same stylist would be able to correct an issue? A few things I'd like to highlight: 1. You were not present for the consultation 2. It does not appear you were able to comprehend my initial review. I was not satisfied with RAZOR and THINNING as a method from the previous cut and was seeking to grow out the damage. the photo does not match how I came into your salon but is a depiction of how I style my hair and represents the amount of length taken from the crown and what I would consider damage to its potential. 3. I arrived at the salon with next day air dried hair with the expectation of a wash, cut, and heat style. So please ask yourself, why I would come in with styled hair? Do you also expect clients to come in with full make up before a facial? Ultimately, this has been a disappointing experience, but hopefully you can use this as an opportunity to learn and grow. I'm sorry .. I thought I would be so MUCH more happier by now .. I'm still not too happy with my hair ... and for the price even more so... I came back .. spoke with another stylist.. she's great with her bubbly personality and really wanting to work the botched job of the precious hair cut/ style experience. So .. I showed her the photo .. made it clear I need to have lots of layers .. keep it long at the front .. over the ears cut .. and the back layer up as well.. when she did the cut it kept getting shorter and shorter I'm thinking how is this going to make it any easier for me to style? And then the long/ bang.. it's there but not the way I wanted it .. I figured let's see how it goes when she styles my hair .. so then it's done and I'm excited because the length at the front is longer than the back and the sides had to be readjusted which is fine .. so I left feeling a whole lot better .. and I realized whoa it's cropped Very very SHORT! Yes I know o don't have a lot left to go on. So I paid a lot of money for the shampoo for the 2 other hair producers plus the stylists work/ time! Since then, EVERYONE can see that unless I forked over another $300 that night and spent another couple hours, when this should have been done the right way the first time, then you're right I wasn't going to pay more for your stylist's ineptitude which is why I only tipped her $50. From the beginning I understood the color wouldn't be exact and she told me one to two shades darker. However, she didn't follow my instructions and didn't cover as close to the root and that has nothing to do with coming back for more sessions which I knew I had to come back for at least one more to get the desired color. As for Vivian, a wolf in sheep's clothing? Hmm...that for our readers to decide. She was very nice until I asked what would you guys do to fix the errors made. Then she ranted on all the errors I made, like you're doing here. Pointing fingers must be a trend there. WHAT A SHOCKER. My error was being too polite to the stylist and not advising her that her work was lacking. My error was not saying out loud "this isn't what I asked for". Nonetheless here we are, with all the she said/she said. None of you were there, I WAS! Therefore , the one star stands and will remain because I posted pictures since day one. I wish, by the way I've been treated since my one star that I could give you zero stars . You responding now, is your way of trying to salvage your reputation, to save face, last saving grace, whatever you want to call it. Which I can see why, you have lost many potential clients based on all the great feedback I'm getting on my honest and terrible predicament I was put in by your salon, with pictures worth a million words telling my story. Hi, this is a long review because I adore this salon, and I don't write in a diary anymore. Summary at the bottom. Scroll on down if you're in a rush- thanks. This Salon has everything I hoped for and more. I was looking for an appointment because my highlight had grown out and the pesky grays were living their best life on my head. I will admit that I don't book a color/cut every 6 weeks. Life is so busy right now: work/kids/sports/etc - I rarely have time. I'm more of the "we have two weddings and a trip planned, I should definitely get my hair cut and highlighted" Maybe every 4-5 months. All of the stylists that I typically see were booked solid for two months. I asked The Mom Squad if anyone knew of a place, and 4 people immediately recommended this Salon. I called and I was quite pleased that they are friendly on the phone, and I scored an appointment for the following week. I love that you take an elevator up to the salon, and step right out to a beautiful reception area that looks and smells like a loft luxury. The windows let in light and loveliness. I was greeted immediately and offered a beverage. Coffee, Tea, Wine, Mimosa- etc. I opted for some nice peppermint tea. Violet was my stylist, she came right over to greet me with a warm welcome and beautiful smile. When we got to her station, I waffled between- "I might go darker, No maybe lighter??" She was patient and absolutely understood my indecisiveness. She told me that she wanted to consult her boss. What a thoughtful, and respectful choice. I love that open communication and dialogue, that means egos don't get in the way of the best approach to the perfect color change. So, between the three of us, we came up with a plan for a lot of neutral highlights, a few lowlights, a trim, and deep conditioning treatment. It's brighter, not brassy AT ALL, shiny and healthy, She didn't cut any shorter than what we agreed on. I'm so appreciative and I love it! I can't say enough about what a great experience this was. The sinks and chairs are actually exquisite. So comfortable, I could honestly fall asleep staring up at those gorgeous chandeliers. The chairs at the sink are electric, so you're conveniently brought to the perfect height. My head and neck say Thank You. Start to finish this was 5 star treatment! Violet was extremely attentive, asking how tender my scalp is, what temperature water I prefer, etc. It wasn't fake or forced, she just genuinely likes her job, and truly cares about 100% satisfaction. In Summary: . Gorgeous Salon, like a luxury loft .Violet is a super star stylist: professional, perfectionist, and personality plus! Listens to your wants and needs, then makes it happen! . What an awesome first experience! The salon is huge and gorgeous. Pure elegance. There is a cute jewelry boutique and comfy seating as soon as you walk in. Snacks and drinks available. I was offered coffee, water, juice, and even a mimosa. I found my stylist Vanessa Perry online using the Varago website. How I picked her? I just looked for a beautiful, stylish woman who I thought could give me the cute I hoped for ....while there were many, Vanessa stood out. I was impressed when I called to schedule an appointment and Vanessa had 8am appointments offered. Vanessa was on time and immediately pleasant at greeting. Her in-person vibe matched her online personality. She asked and listened to what I was looking for in cut and style and she delivered. I love the luxury shampoo area...so relaxing and love that the stylist actually get to sit while they wash. Definitely a five-star experience all the way around from start to finish. I called to schedule and appointment for my 11 year old daughter and I believe it was Lindsey who I spoke with twice who answered and scheduled the appointment over the phone explained I was out of state and asked how much for my daughter to come in (if her father brings her) I did reschedule about ten mins after calling based on schedule, I asked her how much it would cost and she told me $195 this doesn't include cut (but highlights and style) perfect right in my budget especially for a young pre teen. I let her know that I put my card on file to charge and she said if they weren't able to charge the card that I can contact them the day of the services and they can do the charge over the phone. My daughters hair is very thin and it is already naturally highlighted she's never had any color in it before this would be a very simple process I get my hair done on a regular basis I don't pay any more than two 5300 max with cut and full color highlights. After four hours and leaving the salon with her father he informed me that they charge the car $350 plus a tip. I was pretty livid I tried contacting the company however they are now closed because it's Saturday evening I was originally told to hair would take 2-3 hours. I left a detailed message and I tried texting the number back with no response they are not open until Tuesday I am going to contact my bank and let them know I was told it would be $195 here's the before and after picture of my daughters hair although the hair looks great and she's happy I'm not happy about the price that I was quoted versus the price that was charged for hair it is very thin. read more

I took time off from my work and traveled from Pleasanton to Livermore just to be told that my appointment was cancelled. Their excuse was that they had called me to get the credit card details, which was true.... I did get a call just once, which I couldn't pick up. They said they had also sent me a voice mail and email, which I never received. I would expect at least an email/sms about my appointment being cancelled. This review is long over due! Hands down the best salon in the Bay Area. I've been getting my hair done by Lindsy for over 20 years. I tell her all the time she can NEVER EVER move!! I know people that have moved away and they travel to get their hair done so that in itself speaks volumes!! I pamper myself weekly with a blow out/style and if Lindsy is not there I'm happy to have any of the other stylists do my hair.
