I had been a loyal client of Stephanie Harris for quite some time, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. During my last appointment, I scheduled a move-up for my extensions. Without asking for my permission first, my stylist trimmed my hair and then added the haircut charge to my bill. While she explained that my hair needed a trim, I believe any additional service, especially one that changes your hair and increases the cost, should always be discussed and approved beforehand. After my appointment, I respectfully reached out to express my concern. She apologized, acknowledged the miscommunication, and assured me that any future trims would be discussed with me first. I appreciated her response and thought we had resolved the issue. However, when I later reached out to schedule another appointment for an extension move-up and root touch-up, my message was delivered but never answered. After waiting over a week without a response, I decided it was best to find another stylist. I understand that communication issues can happen, but clear communication, obtaining a client's consent before performing additional services, and responding to returning clients are all important parts of providing a professional experience. Unfortunately, because of these experiences, I can no longer recommend this salon and have chosen to take my business elsewhere. We spent 6+ hours together as she brought me from light brown (with some faded auburn dye) to a beautiful light blonde with a blended root. I made an appointment to get a much needed hair cut for my long hair! I've looking for a spot since I moved to Livermore but haven't had much luck until I went here. This spot is a hidden gem - there's a door in between the Fat Pigeon and the Wine Stop. When you open the door, you'll have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the salon. There's a cute waiting area by the register. The front desk person asked if I wanted anything to drink, I didn't realize there was a menu of complimentary beverages including wine and cocktails! Another cool feature of the salon is that some chairs overlook First Street so you can see all the action happening right below! Natalie was my stylist. She was very polite and helpful with questions I had. She did exactly what I needed and did a great job! It's been 2 months now and my hair is growing out nicely, the lawyers I requested are still noticeable. The last spot I went for a haircut in Livermore, the stylist was so hesitant to give me the layers I requested - it was like I got a trim and each layer was hardly noticeable. Recommendation: Have a friend drop you off if you have a dye + cut service! Street parking maxes out at 3 hours. I was ready for a transformational haircut and specifically booked with Kim because of her short hair cutting/razor skills. I will note that her hourly rate was higher than I anticipated ($125/hr), but her skills justify the expense. I have long, thick, wavy-curly locks with multiple cowlicks, and Kim was able to sculpt my mop into the pixie cut of my dreams! I felt "unveiled" during the appointment. Kim took direction from how my hair naturally wanted to fall so I will not have to "fight" my hair to style it. I really wanted a low-maintenance, fun cut, and Kim delivered.
