I had a great experience for my first time at Muse and Mane. Finding someone who truly understands how to work with curls can be tricky, but Jasmine did a fantastic job. She listened to what I wanted and gave my curly hair a cute, fresh new shape that feels so lightweight and manageable. The vibe in the salon was super welcoming, and I walked out feeling really happy with the cut. I'll definitely be going back to see Jasmine! read more

I had the oddest experience here today. About 40 minutes before my scheduled appointment, someone called to ask if I could come early bc my stylist, Anyssa had a cancellation but by the end of the conversation she said never mind, your original time is best. Uh, ok. She then proceeded to ask what I wanted done. I'm thinking that's an odd question to ask as I'm getting ready to leave to go there. So I half-explained that it wouldn't be much but some refresh in color and a cut. Mind you, I scheduled for a full color and haircut. The woman on the phone said I'd need to come back for color if it needs to be lightened bc we won't have time but said she could do the haircut. I thought huh??? It made zero sense. I had been waiting weeks for this appointment and before I got there or before they even knew what it was I wanted, they were telling me they'd have to do another appt. for color. I was already unhappy at that point. When I got there, Anyssa had a friend or family member in her chair doing her hair so I'm assuming that's why I no longer needed to come early. While getting my hair washed, my stylist was talking about bar hopping tonight with the other girls who were leaving to go get ready and talking about what to wear. Anyssa was also talking about needing to get her nails done still. It seemed my appointment was getting cut short all so she could get ready for a night out at the bars. I had a 12:30 appt. on a Saturday! Like wtf is happening?! As if it couldn't get more unprofessional, Anyssa had her other coworker wash her hair next to me in a bowl while my toner is sitting. The alarm for my toner went off while she was still being conditioned. I have never experienced anything like this. Once I got back to the chair, Anyssa was telling her coworker to set up for her blow out after I leave. Like what?! She cut my hair while she had a towel on her head. You guys, it was the WEIRDEST experience! The friend eventually came back and sat down to wait for her to be done with me. It was clear they couldn't wait to shut that place down and turn it into a pregame/get ready turn-up or get the hell outta there. Anyssa tried to say what she'll do with my color at my next appt. No ma'am I will never be back. Seemed like a bunch of young girls who just wanted to push me out before I got there and were focused on the leather skirts they were going to wear to the bars. So disappointing! read more

I had my hair done by Jasmine today, and I couldn't be happier with the results! She did such an amazing job and made sure everything turned out exactly how I wanted. I had an appointment scheduled with Anyssa in February. After reading the review from Alison C. dated Jun 1, 2026 I felt that I needed to share my experience with Anyssa because it's an obvious pattern with her. People need to be aware of how unprofessional she is. I had an appointment for a haircut. I arrived 5 minutes early. Anyssa said that she was finishing up with her client but would be done soon. Anyssa was taking her time with her client as I sat there waiting. She wasn't even conversing with her client but was instead gossiping with another stylist about a stylist that had recently left the salon. After having waited 20 minutes another stylist sat me in a styling chair and said Anyssa would be with me soon. After waiting a TOTAL of 35 minutes (much too long!) from the time I arrived I told Anyssa that I was leaving. She immediately apologized and said she would be done soon and could cut my hair but there wouldn't be time to blow it out. My impression of Anyssa is that she has very little regard for her clients and their time. If you are going to be in a business that is client oriented then you should value your clientele - that should be your priority ... not openly gossiping about people or rushing clients out the door so you can hit the bars. read more

Anyssa was the best! She understood exactly what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable with the length. It has been difficult to find someone who knows how to do and cut curly hair around town. Definitely recommend read more

I just saw Desiree to discuss Microline hair toppers, she explained in detail the process and cost. My thinning hair is embarrassing but she made me feel super comfortable with the entire process. I must say I felt so at home in this salon, the atmosphere was so cool and upbeat. I have consults with 2 other shops but have decided to cancel those appointment s and go with Muse and Maine!!!! I'll post before and after photo's when I complete the first steps! Can't wait! read more

Anyssa was the best hair dresser I've ever had. She was so attentive and wanted to hear exactly what I wanted for my look. I have been dealing with hair loss for the last few days and Anyssa styled my hair that made it full and voluminous that I have seen for years. Love her read more

I've been going to Megan F since I moved to Livermore a few years ago. She's got it down and I don't really need to explain what I like every visit (which helps if you're indecisive like me ). She does an amazing job everytime and I love how cute this salon is! Everyone is super sweet and welcoming! read more

I've been looking for a reasonably priced salon around Livermore that does curly cuts. I'm so glad I found this place. My hair has never looked this beautiful before, even my parents were amazed. Jasmine was super quick and the cut itself is reasonably priced. All the other places I've looked at charge $200-$400 just for a new guest curly cuts. Thank you so much Jasmine! I'll definitely be coming back :) read more

I'm not from here and I had my sister's wedding coming up. I called everywhere a couple of weeks prior but most places were closed for the week of Thanksgiving. Initially, they were too but they changed their minds and decided to open. They came to my rescue! Jasmine was my stylist; she did an amazing job making my hair perfect for the day! She made sure I was completely satisfied being very meticulous in the process. The salon itself is absolutely lovely; inside an older building with a modern interior but keeping the vibe of the original building. read more

I came across this salon online and the name drew me in. I would like to start off by saying Megan Edgar was a delight and out did my expectations starting from my hair color to nbr extensions. Des takes her time to learn my curl pattern and listens to my desired shape. She's suggested products that work well and I always feel pampered when I'm here! The staff works great together and I highly recommend any of the stylists! read more

Love this salon! I originally came in for a haircut with Chantell. She did an amazing job so I asked about getting my color done. Our schedules didn't align so she recommended me to Megan Edgar. We had a consultation and booked an all-day appointment to get me from dark brown (almost black) to blonde. She's so personable and fun - the hours at the salon flew by! We got really light the first try, which I was really happy about. I knew it would be a process and multiple appointments to get me as light as I wanted. I came back for a second round about a month later and went uber blonde! Love, love, love! And a huge plus is that my hair still feels soft, even after going so light. I love how cute and comfy the salon is, and everyone is so nice. I also appreciate that there are no issues with referring to other stylists. I've loved my experiences with both Chantell and Megan E! Would definitely recommend! read more

Desiree has been doing my hair for 20 years! I have followed her to every salon she has worked at; and so excited she owns her own salon now. I've never had a bad hair experience with Desiree from a vibrant red, purple, blonde, black and now multiple colors of light and dark browns she never disappoints. If you're looking for amazing hair and working with a beautiful soul you should definitely seize the opportunity to work with Desiree she is worth every dollar! read more

First of all this salon is SO cute! Super cozy & clean with a chill vibe. Love how it's decorated but what I love even more is how nice & accommodating they are. I called on a Friday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend, for a last minute blow out (not expecting anyone to be available) but Megan Edgar kindly squeezed me in her schedule within the hour. Amazing wash & blow out before I took off for the weekend. Not only is she so sweet but she's very professional & works exceptionally well w/ extensions. I was so thrilled with my experience, so I continued to book future hair services with her... Thank you Megan I'm so glad I discovered you & look forward to our appointments! read more

I had haircut and deep conditioning treatment done by Anyssa today. I really had worst experience ever. I asked her to cut my hair to below shoulder length but did really short like bob. And while cutting hair she dropped comb and then she lift comb from the floor and tried to use in my hair when I asked not to use that comb in my hair, she just cut my hair without using comb . Are you serious? Did she ever passed state board exam even, it's the basic and very important thing to use sanitize tools. I don't know how even owner has hired her. She had really bad attitude. I feel like after having all these experience, salon environment must be unhygienic that's why owner/manager allow stylist to work In unhygienic way. I really feel sorry for all customer. If you are concerned for your health don't go to this place and waste your money. I have never seen in any salon they do such type of things. Thumbs down to this place . read more

I got my hair done by Stephanie and she did an amazing job. I'm not great at explaining so I like to show hair pictures as examples and she totally nails it every time. I came in for a blow dry and shampoo with Stephanie, and the experience was amazing! She asked me a few questions about what kind of finish I was looking in my blow dry, if I had preferences in shampoo/conditioner and if there was anything that I stay away when applying to my hair/scalp. My experience included a nice and relaxing scalp massage when she applied the conditioner. During the blowout she made sure to take care of my flyaways or baby hair so they could stay flat and nice. The vibe in this hair salon is good, with nice music in the background and warm decoration. I'm definitely coming back for a blowout with Stephanie! read more

Megan F was FANTASTIC. She took the time to teach me how to use a Denman brush and get the most out of my curls. She listened to what I wanted and was responsive when I wanted adjustments. Just moved into town so excited it took one shot to find a new stylist I like! read more

Update: finally got my $500 refund after weeks and having to post a yelp review, having to text and call the business and Desi multiple times with no response or answer, and filing a claim with my bank. Also, she tried to say it's non-refundable after the fact! Never not once in our conversation over the phone or in person did she mention the deposit was non-refundable and that's why i got my "non-refundable" deposit back! There should be a contract or these emplyoees/owner should let the customers know about this upfront especially when the service is a little shy of $2000! But nice try lady. Trying to act like you're doing me a favor this was a result of malpractice. I STILL DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! BEWARE LADIES!! read more

I started seeing Megan Edgar 4 years ago at her old salon, and followed her here. The vibe and ambiance at muse and mane is amazing. All the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. So after a few years of debating on extensions, Megan convinced me to try them out. I will literally never go back! The hand tied extensions look so natural and feel so great in my hair for a little added thickness end length since my hair feels Impossible to grow. 10/10 recommend. I also stuck with Megan because she's the best at doing blondes! I'm super picky with what I like and she nails it every single time. I regularly come into the salon once a week to get washed and curled too because she's the only one that can make my hair hold a curl. I highly recommend booking with Megan! read more

I have been going to Chantelle at The Muse in Livermore for several years now. Chantelle is great. It wasn't until I went to her that I learned there was such a thing as a curly hair certification. When I go to the Muse, it is always lively with work and comradarie. It is clean and bright. Everyone is friendly. read more

Had the best time with Megan today! She removed my tape in extensions and gave me an awesome hair cut! I am usually really picky with my cuts as I want my hair to be as long as possible but this time I needed a good 2 inches taken off and Megan proved I could trust her! Also the space is so freaking cute! They have it decorated for Halloween and it's adorable! Love the vibe, very relaxing, great products! Thanks Megan! read more

Megan!!! She's amazing. I come in twice weekly to get a blowout. She perfects my hair EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Have you ever gone to a salon and got our hair styled and then immediately when you get home you fix it because you hate the way they styled your hair? Yeah, no... not with Megan... I leave happy with how she styled it and the style lasts until my next wash. 10/10 recommend! Love ya Megan! read more

I went in for a balayage touch up and walked out with brand new hair including beautiful extensions which I didn't expect to get but so glad I did!! It was such a good experience and I will definitely be back for my touch ups and future hair appointments! read more

I can't recommend Muse + Main enough! Desiree has been doing my hair for almost seven years and I always leave her salon loving my hair. I have naturally curly hair that was difficult to manage for the longest time, but the curly cuts and tips Desiree gives me help so much with making my hair look good and easier to style on a daily basis. She also does an amazing job with my blonde highlights which help cover up my grays a lot ;) read more

I went ahead and edited my review to 1 star because this company obviously doesn't care. No response, nothing. I received 3 different totals and was completely over charged for something they didn't do. $240 waisted. I will never go back and I will NEVER recommend this place. Disappointment. If you're not an established customer they apparently do not care about you or your concerns, only they money. To start, my appointment was canceled the day before due to my stylist quitting. I asked to still be able to be set for an appointment the same day and they did however it took up my whole day and all mg plans were thrown out. I do not feel I got the most for what I paid. My ear gage was knocked out of my ear and went down the drain, they were custom hand made sadly. And no one even batted an eye about it. No compensation or anything. I did ask for more color and did not get as much as I wanted. I wanted WAY LESS red in my hair and much more brown. My stylist finished putting dye in and walked away immediately and I did not see her for 30 + minutes! My stylist left me to sit with dyed hair all in my face and eyes. My hair does feel lighter and healthier than it was so I'm thankful but someone explained to me that I did not get the balayage I asked for instead I got very limited coloring to my hair and dye all over my face. I truly feel I was taken advantage of to the most. I was told one price and got a completely different. I won't go back and I won't recommend this place to anyone. It's cute, I really wanted to love it, they offer drinks like wine and seltzer's but the service just isn't the best. I felt like they just didn't care beside the one nice woman who kindly pulled the hair out of my face after 25 minutes. And also, I know salons are full of gossip but some stuff they really should keep to theirselves. read more
