After reading all the reviews about this place I decided to have them install my tint, sounds, and backup camera on my car. At first I was impressed by the way that the staff worked with me to select what tint to use and what would work best for installing a new deck. I had spaced out the installation of everything because of my work schedule and they were very accommodating. The first thing they did was my tint. It took almost an entire day and at first I was satisfied and content until I noticed that they had to put two pieces on my back window and that it had a big air pocket and two fold marks right in the middle of the window. I took it back and they said that they would fix it later when they install my stereo. I thought that would be fine. A week later I went back and gave them my car again for a full installation of everything. It took them another full day and they said that I would have to come back another day to fix the back window tint. As I drove around that weekend, I noticed that my car no longer had any low end sounds (no bass). The mids and highs were solid but without the bass it sucked! I had a decent stock stereo sound system and this was a downgrade. Not to mention, they told me that the new stereo would provide me with better sound quality than the stock system. I was totally disappointed. After talking to the owner, he apologized and said that he wasn't aware that the stock sub wouldn't work with the after market deck and that I would have to purchase an additional amp to power the sub. If I had known that this would happen I would NOT have purchased the aftermarket stereo system. As it was, he agreed to help me out if I purchased the amp and he wouldn't charge me for labor to install it. After another eight hours, the sound system was working as it should. He also replaced the tint on the back window, still in two pieces. It doesn't have folds or air bubbles, but the two pieces don't line up right. All in all, I thought I was saving money and dealing with professionals but in hindsight I regret having them work on my car. I went to Beyond limits to see what they had that would catch my interest. I needed new speakers and was looking for a double din in my price range. The store owner Craig came to assist me and gave me details on all the double dins and sales he was having. To make a long story short I bought 4 new speakers and a double din. Got a used car a few weeks ago and decided that I should get a car alarm to keep it safe. Since I don't know much about cars, I called around first, and went with Beyond Limits because they were really friendly and helpful over the phone. They were also able to take me the very next morning, so that was great! When I got there, I was showed several different alarm systems that could work for me. There was no pressure at all to buy a more expensive system. The alarm was installed very quickly, even faster than they had estimated. When I got there to pick my car up, they explained in great detail how everything works and told me that I could always go back if I have any questions or concerns. I was even able to have them price match Crutchfield, and ended up buying my fronts and rears speakers as well. Awesome! They really take their time to make sure that you are getting exactly what you are looking for. We upgraded our radio system in our Lexus and the install was perfect. We added a back up camera and in dash navigation system and the install was professional. No hanging wires exposed or problems with connectivity. When we picked up our car, the system was moving around in the dash as the mounts were not snug. Craig, the manager, quickly made some adjustments and fabricated a second mount to make sure that the fit was snug. Craig is very knowledgable of car audio and entertainment equipment. This is my experience with Craig and Bryan from Beyond Limits. It started with a phone call to them inquiring whether or not they had a dash kit I was looking for. I wanted to install an aftermarket stereo into my car and the dash kit was hard to track down. Although they didn't have it, they said they could order it and have it by the next day. I told them that I didn't want to go ahead and order it yet because I wanted to find out if any where else had them currently in stock. Craig said if I needed it that day that I could try another shop. Sure enough, his suggestion was correct as the other shop did carry the dash kit I needed. The next day when I decided to go ahead and get the dash kit from that place, I found out that although they did have the dash kit, they didn't have the wire harness I needed. Before I got the dash kit I wanted to make sure I would have the wire harness as well so I again called Beyond Limits to see if they had the wire harness. He remembered me from the previous day and told me not only did they have the wire harness I needed but that he had also just ordered the dash kit and had it in stock. I went in planning to only buy the dash kit and wire harness but ended up buying a mechless deck as well. When I told him I was going to try and install it myself and asked for pointers on the connections I needed to make, he offered to set up the wire harness for me at no extra cost. He did it quickly and sent me on my way despite seeming to have other things to do as well. I went home and did everything I needed to but ran into issues that I really couldn't foresee. Long story short I called and Craig told me to come back in and he could help me troubleshoot the issue. He did and we found the issue was a little beyond my technical level. He told me they could install it and that Bryan was free to do it right then. While I got charged for the installation, since we didn't end up using the wire harness he credited that money back to me and they got my stereo working nicely. I even hung out there and watched and they didn't make me feel like the pest I probably was. I honestly can't speak to their prices because I haven't researched the competition but I felt they were all reasonable. Just based on my experience there and with specifically Craig and Bryan, everything was just great and even though it seemed pretty busy there, they took the time to help me out and never made me feel rushed or like a burden on them even though I know I was a pain in their ass. They were both really great guys, seemed very honest, and they really seem to know their field of work. I have no hesitation in giving them and my experience there 5 stars. If you're thinking about installing a stereo into your vehicle, I would strongly urge you to at least give these guys a call and check them out. Thanks guys. read more

This is actually the second time I've been here, but I wasn't a user of Yelp at the time. Anyways, this place is legit. Nice clean job on installation (just a sub and amp combo), but hey, I'm not about to attempt what I might break. The guy even drilled a clean hole in my center compartment for a bass knob--it wasn't necessary, but a convenience. Doesn't look shoddy at all. CRAIG and his team are the BEST!!! In Feb, I got new stereo equiptment (deck, speakers, amp, sub) installed in my truck by another company CAE. They did a horriable, horriable job. My door speaker sounded blown and I was hearing at lot of feedback. When I took my truck back the owner of CAE, he told me he knew for a fact that my speakers were blown (although he did not look at the speakers) and tried to sell me more speakers. Something didn't sound right so I called Craig. I took my truck to him and his crew the next day. Not only did Craig tell me why I was having the problem, she showed me why I was having the problem. There was nothing wrong with my speakers, the other company installed them wrong (no padding behind the speaker). After they made the repairs (it took less than an hour and I got a new deck installed), my truck sounds like new. I like the fact that they didn't try to rip me off because I am a female. He was very honest and treated me with the respect I deserve as a customer. I would put a 0 rating if i could but since theres no option for that im forced to give a one star. Spoke to Craig in person for a price quote. Later during the installation, i received a phone call and it had gone up nearly $100 more then what was quoted. Seeing that it was already in the middle of the installation i decided to just proceed forward. Upon coming back to the car, everything that was suppose to be included in the quote was not included. I showed up yesterday to ask about the sale on mobile DVD units and they showed me the Clarion floor model. They gave me an awesome price and installed it after their closing time. I think we got out of there at 9 pm. Even though it was late the installer didn't rush the job and even took the time to explain how the unit works. Now that's customer service! Steven and Brandon did an absolutely five star detailing job on my Dad's Mercedes convertible a few weeks ago. I had called around to other places, including one in Kakaako who wanted $250+ for the same job without even shampooing the carpet! These guys got the car looking brand new, from the interior leather to even a gleaming muffler and engine for half that price. They also helped clean up some scrapes on the outside. Thanks to them we were able to sell my Dad's car for the full asking price on Craigslist. Super thorough, fast, and friendly group of guys. They even picked me up to get the car when it was done. Changed out the factory deck in my Mercedes for upgraded version with USB and IPOD jack. Craig was great, showed me some units and we decided on the Sony XPLOD. They had to rewire and bypass my factory installed amp, which was located in the trunk. The installation was great. The system sounds good and the Bluetooth allows me to use my Samsung Galaxy phone to play music. I would recommend these guys to anyone.
