I just imported an Acty van from Japan and was looking for a solid alarm system. I stopped by Security & Sound Systems shortly after they opened, and Kent greeted me right as I parked. I told him what I needed, and we walked over to my van to take a look. I have a newer 3rd-gen Acty--maybe one of the first on the island--and Kent took his time inspecting the interior to understand how the locks and windows worked. He was incredibly thorough, checking every door and window carefully. I was a little concerned about drilling into the van or interior panels, but he explained how their alarm systems are installed and even brought out some parts to show me. That helped me decide where things could be mounted to keep everything as clean and minimal as possible. I also mentioned that when I first got the van, all the doors used to lock/unlock with the key, but they randomly stopped working. He said he could take a look at that too. Kent walked me through all the different alarm options and recommended the best one for my specific setup, especially considering the van is over 25 years old. I wanted something high-quality, and he got me set up with a 2-way alarm system and the mobile app add-on with GPS tracking. Someone had missed their appointment that morning, and he was able to get me in the same day! Not only did they install the alarm, but they also fixed my power door locks--now I can lock and unlock all my doors (including the trunk) with the remote. The install was super clean: no holes, no visible wires. 10 out of 10--highly recommend. Aside from his professional and knowledgeable work, Kent is just a genuinely nice guy and super easy to talk to. Thank you so much--I'm beyond happy with my alarm! read more

This review is long overdue, and I must recognize this wonderful business that does solid work on security systems for vehicles. I have a vintage rod, as I've been roddin' since my dayz out of high school. Nothing fancy, and definitely nothing worth stealing, yet there is always one knucklehead out there that wants to mess with you, & your ride! What to do? Security & Sounds Systems my friends! Security & Sound Systems has been in business for a very long time, and I have used them numerous times to do work on my Camaros, Mustangs, and family vehicles. The products that they provide, as well as the work they do on security systems is impeccable! If you want to help deter a knucklehead from messing with your car, I would highly recommend you check out Security & Sound Systems to see what they have to offer here that would meet your security needs. Bottom line is anything can be stolen, but you still buy security systems like this to slow up knuckleheads that don't respect other peoples property! Lol! read more

I posted this but it posted from an account on Yelp I don't use (weird). I wanted it to post from where I normally leave reviews and my actual account: am tardy on this review... yet I have to say it is WELL DESERVED.  The owner and his awesome staff put my stereo into my FJ years ago and they were able to connect it to a custom after-market back-up camera the first owner of my car had installed into the rear bumper. Well, fast forward to April 2023 when I got rear-ended in Waikiki by a dumdum as I sat at a red light, as he was going 25 mph.  Uninsured jerk tore up my rear bumper and broke the custom rear bumper back-up camera. I went to see the team at Security and Sound Systems after Allstate shortly after I got the car fixed by my maintenance folks.  Kent and his team were able to install an awesome after market camera onto my spare tire rim that has been working BETTER than the previous camera. For any type of after-market stereo and camera stuff we need for vehicles, we will ONLY go to Security and Sound Systems on South Beretania in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Thanks, team! read more

My daughter's car had issues with Siri working in her Carplay. Kent was quick to diagnose the issue, had good options to fix it, and had the job finished quickly thereafter. These folks know their stuff and are there to help you, not rip you off. Thanks so much for your professionalism and quality install! If you have any car stereo needs, go see these folks. They will do you right! read more

Great installation but kinda slow on sales even though they got two people in the office.

Almost got ran off the road so decided to get a dash cam. My boy told me to check out Kent at security & sound and they didn't disappoint. Kent also helped me pick out the perfect deck for my car too since it was a very old one and kinda broken lol. Accurate quote and threw in a few extra touches to make the thing look stock. They have a sign business to so they can fabricate stuff to blend into your cars look. They slid me in right away and it was done in a fast and neat fashion. Jarred and Cary are veteran installers so you can be assured it will be quality. Kiana went over the dash cam app and functions with me. I can't say much more cause I'm super happy with their work. Check them out for sure. read more

Another job in the books. Kent and his crew from Security and Sound did another work van for me. This time, they installed a general alarm with hood sensors, glass sensors, tilt, and hood sensors. Additionally, they installed my power inverter for me and also a back up camera so I don't accidentally reverse over someone. They integrated my new car stereo with the backup camera. Perfect fit and function! Thanks guys! read more

If you have issues with any sensors in your car, I highly suggest visiting Security & Sound Systems to fix them. My car's rear backup sensor had snapped off from the car ceiling. I thought it'd be a complicated process to find and request a new sensor, but Security & Sound Systems had the issue resolved within minutes of arrival! The staff was very kind and their services were not only quick, but of quality. You are awesome Kent!! Thank you so much for the repairs. read more

Actually went to these guys over a decade ago for a double-din (remember those?) touchscreen setup two trucks ago. Needed dash cams for my wife's car and happy to find out these guys are still around, which says something in and of itself. Kent and his team are simply the best in the biz. If you're looking for quality work and proven results, hands down, this is the place.

Exceptional service. Nice friendly people. Ana and Kent (I think he's the owner) are awesome. Showroom is a little office-space-in-the-middle-of -relocating looking but no worries.. Informative and helpful without sounding like they are trying to make as much money off of you as possible. Upgraded my 2014 Corolla radio with an Alpine system. They even suggested changing my interior and trunk lights to LEDs for a much brighter interior light that I didn't know I was missing out on. Would highly recommend them. read more

I've been a customer of Security & Sound Systems since my first college car. That was a long, long time ago. And Kent has been there the whole time, crouched behind the counter of an unassuming space under a walk-up apartment building. I once spent more on speaker upgrades than I did on the car that I put them in. When Apple Car Play became a thing, I went to Kent to put a basic Pioneer aftermarket head unit in my 2013 Mazda. As a Mililani to town daily commuter, it was probably the best investment I made in my car. So when I got a 2017 Honda, he set me up with a Wireless CarPlay unit from Kenwood. I asked for the most basic model, but since he only had the one-step-up in stock, he put that in for the same price. The install techs, I'm sure, are great people, but it's Kent's low-key style, local vibe, and knowledge of car tech that makes the difference. When I get my next car in 10 years, I'd like to think Kent and Security & Sound Systems will still be there. read more

Kent and his amazing staff hooked up my daughter's car with an alarm, kenwood apple play stereo and a reverse camera! Work was clean and outstanding! I will definitely bring my cars in for upgrades whenever possible. I called a lot of places and emailed as well. They were the only one to take time out of their busy work schedule to answer my questions and explain options and pricing! They have been around for 33 years or so and I can see why! So if you want it done right give Kent a call and you will be glad you did! Mahalo Kent and Team! Aloha nō a 'O Iesus pū! Kani'ala read more

I dropped my husband vehicle off first thing in the morning to get sounds put in and the lady in the office kindly greeted me. The technician had a couple questions that I couldn't answer, so they were very patient with me while I had to get ahold of my husband over the phone. They anticipated it would take all day to install, so they called me a complimentary Uber ride home. I had a nice chat with them while I waited for my ride. My husband loves his new sounds and they did exactly what he asked for. Super friendly customer service! I highly recommend! read more

Just based on quoting and service (we haven't bought a system yet): A shout-out goes to Kent Izuka for great customer service! We were looking to upgrade our car stereo with Android Auto / CarPlay and Kent not only responded to quote requests on Yelp quickly, he was a delight to interact with in-store, as he showed a variety of systems (with your own phone connected to demo systems), demonstrated the features, and make thoughtful recommendations based on what we're looking for. We haven't bought a system yet (since we're looking at the more expensive Alpine option with a bigger screen - we're saving money!!), but Kent is definitely the guy we would like to work with in the future when we are able! The business appears to be split in two parts, separated by a moped store - with the storefront on one side and the installation area on the other. Parking may appear tricky, but it's plentiful and located in the private lot that also appears to be reserved for the apartments above. read more

Lately there are way to many break ins and this week, someone punctured my gas tank. I then realized i need an alarm system to protect my truck and myself. I searched for the best alarm system companies on and yelp and that's when I found "Security & Sound Systems"! My husband is away on a special mission so I had to get the alarm myself. Kent the owner was awesome, fabulous and amazing and he treated me like a family. Kent explained to me all the different types of alarms and what I needed. He explained to me in a way that I'd would understand it since I don't know anything about alarm system. After I chose an alarm, Kent told me my truck should be done at 4:30, he also offered to call an Uber ride to take me home while they install my alarm system.
