We recently popped in yesterday after securing a reservation via Resy to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated at our table with a thoughtful handwritten card thanking us for celebrating with them! Our waitress was fantastic, and they even provided us with complimentary bubbly half pours to commemorate the milestone. Between the two of us, we split the cheeseboard, Brussels sprouts (which are so unique, and one of our favs!), and the poutine. The cheeseboard really is a nice way to kick off the meal, and highly recommend it--so many goodies to choose from. I love how Resy also allows you to specify where in the restaurant you'd like to sit depending on availability--we went with the high top nook spot, which is really special/cozy for two people. Parking is a breeze--even if their lot is full, the post office lot/tyson lot is just a short walk (and it's still not paid parking anywhere downtown).

She was personable, provided excellent recommendations and was just a very enjoyable person and we wanted to shout her out!

They took time to engage in casual conversation and created an atmosphere that felt personal and welcoming. A particular highlight was the owner's involvement throughout the meal; visiting the table on several occasions to personally describe each dish, which proved invaluable given our limited familiarity with South African cuisine. Ambiance: The setting strikes an ideal balance between relaxed and charming. We dined al fresco alongside the garden and farm animals, lending the experience a distinctive, unhurried quality that felt refreshingly unpretentious. The environment is well-suited to those seeking a genuine farm-to-table atmosphere without affectation. Food: The quality of the cuisine was genuinely impressive. The lamb chops were a standout -- cooked to a precise medium to medium-rare and seasoned with a confident, well-balanced hand. The dishes reflected the skill and experience of a kitchen operating at a high level, with clear attention to both technique and ingredient quality. Overall: Bush Farmhouse delivered on every front. The combination of superior food, engaged and joyful staff, and a relaxed, authentic setting makes for a dining experience that is as memorable as it is satisfying. This is a restaurant clearly operating at its best, and one we would recommend without reservation to anyone seeking a distinctive and well-crafted culinary experience.

Very rustic vibe with chickens and pigs outside. Server was very attentive. She talked us through the menu giving her favorites and recommendations. The food was delicious - sausage rolls and chicken liver mousse were amazing. I had the Bunychow, my first time having it and it didn't disappoint. The pie is typical English/Irish/South African pie that you get from the chipper. Very nostalgic for me. Lamb chops were the best. Go check this place out. It's worth the drive over from Asheville.

The lettuces and other vegetables were so beautifully crisp and appetizing and the dressing was freshly made on site. The protein bowl was my entree and couldn't have been more satisfying. It too was pleasing in its presentation with its perfectly grilled kernels of corn and chicken breast on top--Just delightful and the portion was generous so I had leftovers to take home. My husband enjoyed the roasted turkey with cornbread dressing. Again the portions were plentiful and the plating showed the kitchen's pride by making sure everything looked as good it tasted. I could go on, but suffice it to say that we went back a couple of nights later. The menu is so varied, we could eat here for days without repeating an entree. Thanks, BMB!

Plenty of things there to catch your eye from clothing to records to sports gear to local hardware store stores. I had the Reuben on gluten-free bread, which was one of the better Rubens I've ever had in my life. My son ended up ordering a kid burger, which was actually an adult size hamburger and my wife had to have sandwich and soup. Prices were completely fair and reasonable. This place is tucked away next to the town visitor center back in the woods and has a very cabin like feel. We will absolutely be back next time we're in Black Mountain..

Here are a few of my chief complaints: 1) There was no one to check me in when I arrived late after a long flight from California. After standing in the empty front room for a while, I saw a small sign saying to call a number to check in. I called twice before an insolent teen in sweatpants finally showed up to give me my key. 2) The inn adds a daily "tip" for room cleaning on top of an already high bill. (This is one of the more splurgey places to stay in the Black Mountain area.) If that wasn't rude enough, no one ever came by during my three-night stay to clean/tidy the room. The toilet bowl had dirt marks all over it when I showed up and there they stayed for the duration of my visit. No one made the bed. 3) Internet did not work. 4) Breakfast begins late -- at 8.30am -- because the chef has to take his five children to school. Seriously. So if you're staying there for work, as I was, you have to get breakfast elsewhere. That being said, after a lengthy argument with aforementioned insolent teen, the chef prepped me some breakfast items before he left for the night and left them in the fridge. That was very sweet of him.

The accommodations were perfect and we ended up having dinner at the Inn both nights. Food was very good as well as the service. I loved the idea of not having to drive to dinner or having to wait in line somewhere else. After about 930pm, the Inn was perfectly quiet and we slept so well on the comfortable bed in the Music Room. Black Mountain is a very cute town full of little shops and eateries. 20 minute drive to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Thanks for a wonderful stay at your Inn. PS the Frogmore Stew was delicious!!!
