Small town diner full of regulars, makes you feel like you're at that hometown diner in Adam Sandler's "Mr. Deeds" movie, just the greeting card walls are replaced with local history photos and farmy wall hangings. Food was affordable and to the point. All the basics are covered. Quick and kind service! The location adds some bonus points being right in the heart of town, walking distance of most things you're looking to see in red wing. I went alone as no one wanted to join my excessively early biking ventures, they have great hours for early birds - 5 am - 3 pm on weekdays, and 6 am - 2 pm on weekends. But I saw groups of 6 and they seem like the kind of place that would "make it work" for just about anything. If you're looking for a no-frills local breakfast spot in red wing, consider it found!

Phee Phee and Katie are the best serving duo bar none!! Food, service, atmosphere.

My husband and I were visiting from Texas and found this place for breakfast. The portion sizes were great, the food was delicious, and the waitress was an absolute peach! It has a very homey feeling to it. Definitely could tell there were regulars, but they made us feel like we fit right in!!! Made us seriously consider moving to the area!!!!!

Super friendly staff, warm cozy diner cafe vibes. Food tastes great. I got the corned beef hash and my wife got the skillet. Coffee is good and warm and we will be coming back soon!

Just another amazing experience (a little tight and hectic since it opened up again) but it's what you expect from a restaurant in a town like Red Wing! We enjoyed it, felt very cozy and home-like, as the patrons played with our kids and started conversations. It was pleasant and would return again the next time we visit the city.

We went for breakfast. Big meal for low cost in a diner setting. I would definitely return. My husband ordered the gritwurst with eggs. That was a fun adventurous meal for him but he would not order it again. I had the Denver (omelette) Sandwich. It was perfect... and also $5.25!!

It was ok. We visited Bev's for the first time. It appeared to be clean and the meals we ordered looked and tasted old fashioned home cooking. The wait staff was pleasant and took care of us. It was super cold in the restaurant. It looked like, if you sit on the right side it would be warmer. The air conditioning vents are on the left. Covid has things messed up. Each table is given one paper menu. I don't think they have sweetener because when I asked, I was given sugar. The omelets were smaller than I expected. The hash browns were huge but not crisp. The prices are higher and the servings are smaller than Perkins. The atmosphere was nice. And are waitress was super nice and very attentive. We're not sure if we'll be back.

This is a cute little cafe in Downtown Red Wing. I went really early and there seemed to be a lot of regulars. The food was generic breakfast food, but they had a lot of skillet options, which was unique! The waitress was nice, but also quick and efficient. It was a block from my hotel, so walking distance was a plus! The only downside is they charge you a fee if you use a credit or debit card.

The decor is so fun and full of town history including benches from Red Wing pottery, old shops from town, and even old bakery equipment. They also have a small deli that has more lunch choices and a coffee shop with gourmet options or just a simple cup of self-serve coffee with about a dozen flavor options. The place we were going to go was closed, so we crossed the street to find the Red Wing Café. This is one of those places that you discover by happy accident and are thrilled that luck made it possible. It's also one of those places that I wished was in MY neighborhood in Minneapolis so I could be a regular. The place was warm and cozy, even in February. Although it was packed, we scored a table. It has all day breakfasts and my wife ordered the pecan Belgian waffle. I was more than amazed that it was served with a bottle of pure maple syrup from a place in nearby Wisconsin. Real maple syrup is usually an upcharge in most restaurants these days. It was all the crispy and gooey goodness that you could hope for. All of the breakfasts at the tables around us looked great, so I started to regret my choice of the hot turkey sandwich I ordered with fries (as a substitute for the mashed potatoes). My regret turned to joy because this was one of the best hot turkey sandwiches I've had, and believe me, I've had many! The turkey slices was thickly carved, juicy, and fresh. The gravy, which is usually the downfall, was absolutely wonderful. Not too salty and perfectly flavored. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this! The fries were hot and crispy. Even the coffee was great. I know where we are eating the next time we visit Red Wing.

I ordered the French toast. It arrived barely warm, and after almost finishing the first slice... I found a hair. The other meal went like this: "I'll have the soup, salad, and bread." "What kind of soup?" we asked. "The soup of the day," the server replied. We looked at each other and thought, Okay... surprise soup. "So what are the bread choices?" (Thinking breadsticks, garlic toast, something...) "It's like toast." "Okay... wheat toast then." The meal arrived: Soup was cold and looked like Campbell's Chunky Soup. Salad was warm, consisting of iceberg lettuce and a quarter slice of tomato. Wheat toast was cold. Crackers were stale. Needless to say, neither of us finished our meals. I politely pointed out the hair to the server. Her response? "Oh... do you want me to have them make another one?" Ummm... no. Then came the bill: about $24. Nothing was taken off. No discount. No real apology until I mentioned paying full price for a meal with a hair in it. Then, to top it all off, they asked if we wanted a to-go box. For what,, the hair!! At that point, all we could do was laugh. It was honestly one of the most unbelievable dining experiences I've ever had.
