Taking a moment to give a GREAT review because I feel bad those people below gave low ratings, tough feedback, and ultimately did not have a great experience. *Look* I've been going to this nail salon for over two years now. I'm the type of girl that once I find a place that gives good services repeatedly, done, I'm loyal. I go to Tracy, and I'm hesitant to say her name because I don't want her to get so popular I can't get an appointment! But she's great. Great! My Mom even requests to go see her when she's in town visiting and loves her! And we all know Moms don't lie about their experiences! Anyways, I really appreciate this salon. DONTTTTT VISIT!! This is coming from a multi-year customer. I wish I could give this place a -5 stars. I have just had the worst experience. I have experienced at a nail salon in my whole entire life after being a consistent visitor of this place for years. To start things off as I walked in I was not greeted. There was a short lady that asked what I was here for that barely let me finish what I was there to get completed before she began walking away and told me to sit at the man's chair at the front of the shop. I then sat his chair for 5 to 10 minutes before he even came over to tell me he was unable Take care of my nails due to him having an appointment which was fine so I asked him. Why did they even sit me here if he had an appointment that was already in the shop to which he responded he did not know and moved me to another lady seat. That lady, upon finishing up another customer, began doing my nails, which I requested to be a soak off, but she instead begin removing my current nails with a tip (WTF) when she was finished removing all of my nails, she then got up didn't say a word and left me sitting in the chair for about 10 to 15 minutes while I go to the back and begin eating. As I sit there, multiple people walked by me that worked in the shop and did not say a word. I'm sitting there for about minutes PISSSSSED! I then got up, went to the front of the shop and asked how much did I have to pay for her removing my nails because I was ready to go only to which then did everyone in the shop stand up and began offering to help me. This completely me off because as I was sitting here for about 15 none of you said anything to me. Everyone at the shop seriously needs to work on their customer service and needs to be more professional. I've been to the shop multiple times and have seen multiple little things happen but this one takes the cake I will be telling all of my sisters and nieces, who frequent this place, to never come back here. This place knows how to treat you like royalty. As the only guy in the salon, I felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond--they even gave me a drink, and one of the ladies offered me fruit! The pedicure was relaxing, and the massage chair was just the cherry on top. So I called to see if I could walk in on a Friday evening, a man answered and said yes come on in. I arrived, sat briefly and then they sent me to a pedicure chair... which was not clean. I started to make them clean it before putting a bag in but decided... let me just see what they do. Let's see how they normally conduct business. No, they did not clean the stains inside the foot tub before putting the bag in. Next, they turned the water on and let me soak as they finished working on other patrons. The guy who sat me offered me "wine" and I waited. Finally a woman who seems like a manager or maybe owner comes over and offers me a nail color option tray. I told her I had my own color. This is USUALLY where the level of service changes for the worst, which it did! For some background info, I've always brought my own color to nail salons. Why? Because my colors and quality of my polish is always top tier. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY, and most round the way nail salons would love my color & design choices I brought in. But here in 2024 Charlotte, all they care about is money! You bringing your own nail polish means two things to them; one... you're not getting gel, which costs more money, and two... they assume you'll PROBABLY choose the basic and cheapest pedicure package. Unless I'm familiar with your salon and the caliber of their higher end pedi's, I'm absolutely going to choose the basic pedi. Why?! Because most salons do not live up to the quality of the higher end salons that charge more for REAL spa experiences. So they did exactly what I figured they would, the possible owner/manager chick ditches doing my pedi and puts me off to the rough, balding older lady, while she does the gel pedi next to me. Grandma clearly feels a way also because they probably do that to her all the time, put the customers they don't want off on her. So I feel her pain, but at the same time this was NOT a pleasant experience... for either of us I'm sure! I'm not one to make a fuss, unless it's absolutely warranted. So far, she cut my big toe nails way too short and nipped my cuticles. Not to mention pushing & pulling my feet like she's angry at me for something. We'll see if I bleed towards the end and how well her polish job is. I told myself I wouldn't tip because I'm tired of being forced to spend more on these BS "spa pedicures" in dirty bowls of water in order to get decent treatment, but I feel sorry for gram gram! Stay tuned... FYI, my polish matches my ALREADY DONE NAILS PERFECTLY, hence why I chose it and brought it here, will determine what I do. Wait... NOT paper towel between my toes? But you mad that I didn't get your "spa pedi" in a dirty bowl?! HA! So far this ish looks like trash. She cut my toes too short because she rushed thru this with an attitude. I wish it was a way to not leave any stars! I paid to get my nails done last Thursday before flying out the country. The next day as I'm combing my hair, it's pulling out my hair due to the nail polish chipping. The lady rushed and advised me to get the acrylic overlay instead of the gel polish I wanted. More money! I was beyond pissed bc I was traveling out the country. I ended up biting them off on my flight bc they were a mess. I called to ask if I can get in to remove my gel-x and they said I could come any time. I thought they were slow so I didn't think nothing of it. Came in and I ended up w a lady that kept persuading me to get dip on to keep them "strong". A princess group party came in and I knew my lady had to do one of them. They did a great job with my pedicure but I wanted french regular polish and asked her to be sure she was doing regular polish and she said yes. Then, when I go to pay she told me $60 instead of $40 so I said that was regular polish and not gel correct. She said no it was gel and I said I asked for regular and asked while you were doing it to be sure and she said oh and just laughed at it and made me pay the $60 but did not apologize for her mistake. Horrible experience a couple of weeks ago, and it's beyond disappointing! Especially when you don't allow yourself the luxury of getting your nails done often. The woman did a terrible job at the actual painting of my nails, and then wouldn't stop rushing me when it was time to dry them. I'm not sure why. It was a weekday morning. She put me at the drying station and then insisted I was dry. I knew better, but since she kept pushing me out the door, I just left. I returned not even ten minutes later so she could fix my nail. Unfortunately, this would be my first and last time at this nail shop (not a spa). My usual nail spa was closed for Mother's Day and this was the only one near by that was open. When I got there businesses was slow. While I was receiving service (SNS), it became a lot busier. My nail tech at his point started to rush my service and did a train wreck of a job on my nails. I will have to go to my usual salon to have it fix this week as I am so embarrassed to even walk around with my hands like this. She even com used to polish my nails as they were bleeding which is definitely a health code violation. Like madness. SMH. SN: one lady was told there was a 30min wait, 1hrs later she is still waiting. A few women walk in with appointment. They told this same lady she would have to wait another hour or come back tomorrow, cause they had to honor the appointments. Never. Again. Went for a walk in and got a older gentleman. After discussing I wanted SNS, he tried to overlay my SNS nails with acrylic. His argument was my nude SNS looked like acrylic. But we had talked about it??? I had a tip on my pinky nail. One tip. I understand he needed to cut that off, ok cool. I spoke up and told him that was the only tip, the rest of my nails are my natural nails. He proceeds to CUT OF ALL MY NAILS on my right hand. The whole time I'm telling him those are my I don't want them cut. I'd pull back my hand and tell him these are my nails I don't want them cut...and then he'd cut another one. Now I'm angry. I've been to this place twice... the first time I got my toes and nails done and everything looked good except they chewed my fingers up a little. Kicked me in several spots on my fingers. And when he got to it he said he can't because my nails are too short. I was like it's okay I'll have it anyway. And he said no. Absolute worst nail experience ever!! I came in on Monday to get regular nail polish on my nails and toes and I am so disappointed. To start with, the girl that started doing my nails did so much mess painting my nails and I had to ask multiple times to make my nails similar length and shape. She repeatedly tried to convince me to get gel manicure and I told her I didn't want to. Another lady came to "fix" my nails and did something worse. The picture shows what it looked like. I hated my nails but I had to be at a wedding and so I rushed out to pay and I paid $10 more than what I was told I would pay. No one cared about how me or my sister felt. I called the next day trying to speak to a manager and I was told he's on vacation and they can fix my nails. I go back and after making me wait 40 mins the lady told me that I didn't let my nails dry and that was why they looked like that. I told her I wanted a refund and I was refused one. I called the third day for the manager and he told me that I could come in and he'd fix it. I come in and he tells me that he can only take me at 7:30pm!! Mind you the store closes at 7pm. I want to start off by saying I have no idea why the rating is so low my friend and I came in for two pedicures at 6:45 when they close at 7:30 on a Friday and they were very accommodating. They were able to sit us side by side and start us pretty much at the same time. Lucy was amazing great conversation she helped me decide glitter or no glitter on nails but we went with glitter on my big toe and kept the others just pink. So I have been to many nail salons and have determined that some are much better than others. This salon is near my home in the Rivergate Shopping Center so I have gone there on more than one occasion but I was careful to write this review only after several visits. When I go I generally get a gel nail manicure and a pedicure with regular polish on my toes. The policy on my hands usually lasts 3-weeks and on my toes it lasts about one month. The first time I went to this salon, I was serviced by Nancy, then the second time by a man. This last time I was Winnie was my technician and although everyone at the shop is nice and talkative, there has been a problem with my nails afterward one too many times. In recent weeks when I have left this salon, I have noticed that when I don't get a full manicure or pedicure the technician will do nothing with the flesh or cuticles around the nail. In other salons that I have been to they will at least slide the rugged file over the flesh and do a quick clean-up of any obvious hangnails. What good is getting gel polish if the finger around it is still going to have unattended areas and be left dry and rough looking. The technician can usually get the gel polish on my fingers to look good but if you get the sparkly stuff, it has not been filed well enough and has caught on my clothes causing snags. I also have noticed that the filing of the 10 nails have not been done uniform. This is a problem when you have to go home to 'touch-up' the filing (some are pointy, some slanted, some filed down very thing causing fast breaks). I thought that all service techs were about equal years ago but each time I go, I realize that for some this is a career choice and for others it is just a job. For those who feel it is a just a job, they believe in the 'get 'em in and get 'em out' as fast as possible. That takes the care of the nail out of the picture and lends itself to short cuts. I notice on my toes, that there are white splotched on the nail bed. That should not be happening when all that I am getting is regular nail policy. It is because they are using ACETONE to remove the polish faster. Acetone has been proven not to be good for nails so why use it? Use the non-acetone remover as it is safer for the nail and does not cause the white discoloration. If they spent the time caring for the nail that they spend trying to upsell the clients on powder nails or fancy upgraded massage manicures then the experience would be better for the customer. The finished product might then last the same amount of time as it does when the clients go to to other salons. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that I will return to this business as each time my nails have been done, I have had an obvious flaw within 10 days of leaving the salon. I just don't get the feeling that they care about the condition of my nails and I need to know that someone is concerned about me having not only beautiful but also healthy nails. read more

I recently moved to Charlotte and stumbled across this nail salon. This review is necessarily for the salon but for the nail tech. The salon is nice, I mean it a nail salon. A perk is they offer wine and have kiddie pedi spas. Oh they also enforce social distancing and proper Covid hygiene etiquette. Tracie was my nail tech and she is amazing. I was hesitant about finding someone to slay my nails and give a bomb pedicure and Tracie does both. She's super sweet and is a perfectionist. Received nothing but half-effort service and a very poor quality pedicure, how do you miss full coverage on toes when applying white?!?! I only decided to give this spot a try since the go to nail salon in Rivergate was closed for the holiday. Regret not waiting another day to stick to the higher quality salon across the intersection next to Harris Teeter, V-Nail & Tan! They never miss nor cut corners when it comes to their services. Well... I've never liked spending hours in a nail salon. This one is no different. Technicians just randomly get up and wander around, gossip, and talk to one another instead of staying focused on their client. I came in for a basic fill in, and ended up waiting almost 45 minutes. The nail tech kept getting up to do other things. At one point, He even went and worked on a ladies toes in the middle of doing my nails. Came back without washing or sanitizing his hands. I'm a hair dresser and nail tech myself and this type of behavior is unacceptable. I wish they would get a random, undercover inspection. Furthermore, there's never enough techs for the amount of customers they take in. I watched a tech go from doing a pedicure, to doing an eyebrow wax and makeup application service. She didn't wash her hands, use sanitizer, or anything. She also didn't do any cleaning and sanitizing on the work area. Extremely poor customer service. I came in for mani/pedis for me and my daughter and asked that we be seated together. They purposefully separated us and then proceeded to upsell my daughter for services she did not want. I paid $200 for both of us and afterwards my daughter was crying saying how rough the tech was with her and how much pressure it was when the did her nails. I'll never go back. She is very friendly and listens to what I want and also helps me pick out colors. If Jessica isn't available, I go to Tim. He is also very good and is nice too. I think they gave me an infection! All the staff were very nice and my pedicure came out alright I suppose, the place seemed clean enough, I've definitely seen some rougher looking places. My pedicurist didn't get all the dead skin/white cuticle around my toes which is kind of why I get pedicures, like I can paint my own toes I go for the service of taking care of my nails. Probably one of the worst pedicures I've gotten on the whole. Experience was okay but the polish job was terrible (after I got done waiting half an hour in the chair after they told me they had time to take me.) This is the type of place that tries to upsell everything. $5 for a "seaweed wrap" that was just a hot towel.
