I waited next in line to pay and get my drink for 10 minutes no exaggeration before they finally pulled the car ahead of me to a waiting station. I have given this location so many chances and sadly, it just disappoints every time. I went through the drive through on 1/16 between 12-12:30 pm. Literally one of the only customers there. Ordered a banana pudding best drink. Wanted to do 1/2 sweet on the vanilla, but asked to add a little of the banana puree to the drink (which has been done for me at another BB location). The person at the window said they pre-make the cold foam and they don't have banana puree to add. To top it all off, the transaction just wasn't pleasant she seemed rushed to get me out of the drive through (in fact last time she literally said "these drive times are killing me"). Then after paying, I awkwardly waited for a receipt or maybe even a "thanks have a nice day", but nope nothing. I usually love leaving positive reviews, but felt the need to leave this hoping they take this feedback and do better with their customer service. read more

First time visit and yeah 5-stars easily! Great experience, pulled in and joined the line at about 1:40pm on a sunny yet brisk spring day with a hankering for a cappuccino. I could tell there was going to be a decent wait and didn't mind at all and knew it would be worth it. Placing my order at 1:56pm, paying and receiving my delicious coffee and pulled out by 2pm. Not bad considering they serve made-to-order açaí bowls and other fresh snacks here, too. Brilliant and such a pleasure. You can also park and walk up to the other side of the small building, but there is no building to sit inside of, and the parking lot gets super full. There are two lines for the drive-thru, service is pretty fast, and the employees are really nice. I ordered a Mocha Buzz with oat milk and really enjoyed that. I'll be back! read more

After hiking I was craving something sweet as a treat. My friend told me to get the iced Chai Latte. I usually get warm but wanted to try it. Got the iced chai latte with oat milk instead, and it was really good. You can taste the chai spice, wasn't too sweet and very creamy and smooth. Place is small stand alone structure. Not an actual store. It's confusing tho, the drive through was ambiguous. Not sure if I should have just walked up. But since there was a lot of space for drive thru I had to park in a spot then wait for person to be done then drove up. Ordered then they tell you to wait at a spot. Yummy, yum, yum! I ordered a lavender tea latte with oat milk on my way to a training in the area. It was really tasty! I haven't ordered coffee/tea from coffee shops in a while so I had a bit of sticker shock. It was a nice treat for me though so it was worth it. There was a bit of a line and some trouble being heard on the speaker in the drive through but service was friendly. They also have smoothies, bowls, coffee and a few pastries. Love the service and fun vibe of this Better Buzz! I have tried several different drinks ( blueberry pancake cold brew pictured, snickerdoodle latte, and my current favorite, the lavender tea latte). They're great at asking if I want to sub in almond or oatmilk too, which is great for dairy free peeps like me! Their banana bread and muffins are a nice sweet treat too! I have gotten Sienna several times and she makes great drink and has such a happy fun personality. The last couple of visits, the drinks were undrinkable. A mint coffee that didn't taste like mint, and a coconut best drink that didn't taste like coconut nor have the coconut on the whipped cream. Reached out to management, first time they emailed an acknowledgement but didn't really offer to fix anything, second time they didn't even acknowledge. Truly one of the worst drive thru coffee experiences I've had in a very long time. Got sorted into the line for cars that didn't have an attendant to take orders (not an issue for me, since I generally get very simple/basic orders) however the person working the line from inside was incredibly rude. After I was asked my order and I was talking, they cut me off rudely to then start their spiel about various food items. When I started to talk again they interrupted me (again) to tell me to not speak from the passenger seat (I was the driver) and seemed to hurry my order. Once I pulled up the person working the window told me a different order and tried to take my payment. When I declined and said that it wasn't my order, they rudely replied "THATS WHY I ASKED YOU" despite it not being a question but a statement from them. Finally got both my drinks as they were rushed into my hands to get out of the queue. I understand being busy on a Sunday afternoon (this was on Sunday 28 July), but this was a pretty bad experience. On top of that, the coffees weren't made correctly and were missing parts of the order, but it wasn't worth my time to get back into the line again and deal with them. Really disappointed since normally this place is my go-to Better Buzz (the other one being by SDSU which has a wonderful interior) but since this one is primarily a drive-thru only, it wasn't great and I'll be rethinking going here again in the future. read more

So lucky to have this Better Buzz location around the corner from my work. It's a busy location so be patient. I like to use my mobile app and place my order on my drive into work so it's ready for a fast pick up. When I have a little bit of extra time I'll drive thru. The staff is always welcoming but Sierra is my absolute favorite. She's a ray of sunshine in the morning and she makes an amazing Mocha de Mexico. My favorite along with a pistachio croissant...perfection. I also really like their best drink ever and hazlenut divinity coffees. If you're more into iced drinks I highly recommend an Iced Matcha Tea Latte. It's the best!! I scale my drinks back on sweetness but that's just my personal taste. Can't say enough about Better Buzz, their drinks and the staff. read more

I really wanted to love this location because I enjoy Better Buzz in general, but the San Marcos store is by far the worst. Every single visit has been frustrating. * Inconsistent drinks: This is the biggest issue. The same order never tastes the same twice -- sometimes it's too strong, other times it's completely watered down. I've honestly stopped bothering to customize my order because it doesn't matter; the end result is never consistent. * Long waits: There is always a crazy wait. Thirty minutes or more is the norm, even when the café doesn't look that busy. The line management is terrible and adds to the frustration. * Frequent mistakes: On top of the wait and watered-down drinks, my order is often wrong. Whether it's the milk, syrup, or size, it feels like they just don't pay attention. I've given this location multiple chances, hoping they would improve, but it's consistently disappointing. Better Buzz as a brand can do better -- unfortunately, this San Marcos location drags down their reputation. read more
