This location is drive thru only and it's what I'm used to for Better Buzz! Been a long time customer at this specific location. The staff are always friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. I like that they don't get annoyed if I need to do a milk alternative or change sweetness levels. I definitely enjoy their açaí bowls and their energy drinks. I went here on two different days before writing my review so that I could more confidently speak on Better Buzz. On Tuesday, I arrived around 8am and saw about 8 cars in line. I panicked at first, but figured I had time since my meeting didn't start until 9. There was an employee who took my order and she was very pleasant. I ordered the Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever, and the coffee was not only delicious, but did its job and kept me alert and focused throughout the day. One thing I will note about this drink is while it was delicious, I did not taste much banana. I was very impressed how quickly they were able to move the line. I got my drink probably within 5 minutes of ordering. On Wednesday, I arrived at 7:50am and this is where things took a turn. I saw an employee in a blue shirt walking back into the building so I figured I should drive up to the window. She explained that they had a power outage and was just getting power back. I asked if I could sit at the window until she was ready to take my order, and she instructed me to park in a spot. I parked, and then realized she did not instruct the following 8 cars after me to park in spots, so they had formed a line in the drive thru, which blocked my car from being able to get in line. I wish I could say well maybe they formed a line without her knowing, but I watched her go to every car in line and tell them that the power was out, while she allowed them to stay in line as I'm sitting in the parking spot. Fortunately, another employee saw me trying to move and she stopped traffic to allow me to get in line. This time I ordered the banana matcha (I really like banana) and when I went to pick up my order the barista thanked me twice for my patience and was very nice as well. Again, like my first critique, the matcha was fantastic but I didn't taste much banana. I also noted again on this day, they were able to get those 8 cars in front of me out within 10 minutes. Overall - I'm super impressed with their wait times, and how quickly they can move the line. I also think that their drinks are delicious (even though it wasn't banana-y enough for me), and for the most part their staff is very nice. I acknowledge I was probably just cranky from not having my caffeine, but I would have appreciated if the employee in the blue either told people to park and then had me line up first, or took my order and I could have went to the pick up window myself. It isn't a nice feeling when you know people are crowding you, and all you can do is sit there and watch because you followed the instructions. read more

The line moved relatively quick and I ended up getting to the window before my estimated ready time. The staff was cheery and helpful. It worked out that it was ready and I was on my way. My matcha latte was pretty good though it was a bit sweet for having chosen the 1/4 sweet option. Next time I will ask for slightly sweetened. Just stopped by @ 4:45 June 16 and had a wonderful experience! Anna, the young lady who helped and took my order was such a sweetheart! Even before seeing her, I could tell she was smiling as she helped me placed my order via the intercom. Sure enough I get up to the window and she's all smiles and bright eyes just beautiful! After a long days work, it was so refreshing to be greeted and treated as a valued customer! I kept hearing nothing but amazing things about this place and I'll sadly say I was definitely disappointed. I got an acai bowl which was delicious, but my snickerdoodle coffee was very bland and not sweet at all for something that would seemingly be cookie inspired. Pictured is the fruit cup that was not at all what was pictured on the website, pretty disappointed on that. Everything was prepared very quickly and easy to pick up. Great for a quick buzz, but know before you go! This San Marcos location is a tiny, classic drive thru with a walk-up window. There is no indoor dining so don't plan on a sit down study session here. Because of the smaller footprint, the food and pastry selection is also more limited compared to their larger cafes. Pro-tip: The drive-thru line can get pretty backed up. I highly recommend ordering on the app ahead of time and hitting the walk-up window instead. it's so much faster! The service is always friendly and prompt. I recently tried the seasonal Strawberry Rose Matcha. The presentation was beautiful with the rose petals on top, but the matcha itself wasn't quite as silky smooth as I'd hoped. Dangerous drive-through! Don't get burned. (Literally) They handed me my coffee without the lid attached. It not only burned my hand, but also made a mess in my car. I had warned others before in a review here on Yelp and somehow that disappeared. I also wrote directly to the corporate office and never heard back.
