Half eaten sandwich "The Madison" with the plastic piece that ended up in my mouth

I wish I could give them a higher rating because their food is actually really tasty which is where the 2 starts come from. I unfortunately bit into my sandwich and crunched on a piece of plastic that almost looks like glass. If I swallowed that, it would have done some serious damage. I wish I could finish my sandwich but I just cannot get past this. Mistakes happen but this was too much of a close call for me to enjoy.

Better Bite is fantastic! Super friendly service and I loved the interior too. Very homey and comfortable feel. Came here really just on a whim because we were sight seeing a little around town. This was really one of the only places open. I'm glad it was though. It was absolutely freezing so my boyfriend and I both got some hot soup. We got their half a sandwich and soup special. The chicken noodle soup was really good and it hit the spot. They also had corn chowder which sounded good. I got a half a house roasted turkey sandwich and it was really really delicious. The rye bread I got it on was perfectly toasted and doughy. It's actually from a local bakery. The turkey was sliced nice and thick and the house made Russian dressing brought it altogether. Perfect lunch to finish our trip to Albany.

Ibiza with a side of coleslaw

I got to try their Ibiza sandwich and a side of slaw as part of a big group order recently, and I gotta admit I was disappointed. The two things that detracted from the experience were the slaw (way too soupy and vinegary for my taste) and the bread that was so burnt that I was forced to rip off a good bit of it because of the burnt taste and smell. Not that the overly runny "Mediterranean chicken" did anything to make up for the rest of it. Alas.

Just realized today that I've checked in here 82 times and don't believe I've done a review. I usually get coffee but I have had a few food options. I do like there rueben's, french fries, breakfasts, breakfast sandwiches, and there muffins. Sometimes I get a bagel toasted which are ok. The biggest of my disappointments was once when I got a falafel platter. They were small nuggets as hard as rocks. I didn't like them at all. Hopefully, it was a mistake of the day. Since I work in the building I come here often, mostly for coffee like mentioned above. I was surprised one weekend when I came in for brunch how great it was and they stepped up and used real utensils and had table service. On weekdays usually you order at the counter abd they call your number for pick up. Definitely would recommend brunch on the weekends. I guess they are popular for their potato salad but I tried it at our holiday party in the office and for me it wasn't a winner. It had peas in, not the problem. Too dry and lacking flavor for me. The prices are high for what you get but most options are tasty. Service is ok.

Covid-19 Edition State worker edition . Called ahead Paid over the phone. Exceptional!!! The food was ridiculously good. The front door pickup service was efficient. Albeit it was a nice sunny day, little wind. Sometimes that isn't always the case. Philly wrap or salmon sandwich are normally my yearly orders. They nail it every time. Season curly fires were hot and crisp. The philly wrap was soft pillowy and juicy; bursting with flavor . Tons of umamai . The meat to veggie ratios is 90/10 meat. Had a hint of fresh cracked pepper as well. Pick up order came with utensils, ketchup, napkin , and a chocolate chip cookie(unexpected surprise) Do yourself a favor and order now ; support local business and stay safe .

    Tuna Melt

Solid lunch. Fresh ingredients, fair prices, and excellent deli meats. I am not a huge fan of potato salad but their has just the perfect blend of spices and dressing. A great choice in downtown Albany.

Hummus plate (I got it with whole wheat bread instead of the pita) ... and carrot/green apple juice.

Cashiers are rude and they charge you full price for just a sandwich when you skip the fries- certainly NOT worth paying $10 for a burger.

We approached just as they were opening for the day on a Saturday. (Slightly after noon) Not seeing many cars in the neighborhood and having the gps seem to "arrive" outside of an empty lot was an inauspicious start but when we pulled fully into the lot, we saw that they had put some work into the place and it had a nice modern look. Didn't get to take advantage of the nice outdoor seating area because the weather was rainy. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated at a comfortable table. Our timing was impeccable because the place was full within the next half hour. Our waitress deserves her own paragraph! She knew the menu inside and out and had tremendous pride in the food served and the awards they've won! Illusive is a "foodie" restaurant, every dish is elevated yet remains unfussy. For appetizers, we shared the street corn dip and tater tot poutine. The street corn dip was creamy and zesty. The tater tot poutine was revelatory, the cheese was melted perfectly, the gravy wasn't some jarred nonsense, and the tots themselves were crispy. I enjoyed the different textures of it, some more cheesy and some more gravy. My wife enjoyed a chicken Caesar salad and my daughter enjoyed a grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Her sandwich was a nice enough portion that she finished it leftover for dinner! I enjoyed the buffalo lemon pepper wings, the sauce was a nice blend of heat and zesty flavor. I appreciated the amount of wings they served, some restaurants are going for "shrinkflation" but Illusive provides a full portion! We received quality and personable service throughout a delicious meal, we will gladly return!

As the name suggests, this restaurant is a bit elusive. It's hidden from street view and, unfortunately, sits right next to a highway ramp. That said, once you're inside, the location quickly becomes irrelevant. I've tried a few things here over time, but most notably, the burgers. Every burger I've had has been excellent -- I honestly haven't tasted one I didn't like. We also tried the wings, which appear to have earned some awards of their own, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They looked and tasted fantastic. Each wing was carefully garnished with chives, and the sauce was generously slathered over them. They were messy, indulgent, and downright delicious. I personally love getting down and dirty with wings, though I could see how that might not be everyone's preference. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful. While the food can sometimes take a bit longer to come out, it's clearly made with care and has always been worth the wait.
