I have been coming to "The Cup" since I was a kid and it's still as fresh, creamy, and delicious as it was then. All of the ice cream is made on the premises, which is why it is so fresh. There are so many flavors of hard ice cream it's hard to choose and now they have hard and soft frozen yogurt, soft serve ice cream, and galato too. The portions are generous and served in a cup, multiple cone options (cake, sugar, cookie, pretzel, waffle), or milkshake. They also have tons of flavors prepacked for take home as well as ice cream sandwiches and other treats. All of the ice cream is made on the premises, which is why it is so fresh. The scoopers are local high school students who are always helpful and smiling. The only annoying thing about the set up here (and what causes incredibly long lines) is that instead of having the line start by the ice cream, so you can see the vast array of flavor choices, it goes the opposite direction so you can't see anything preorder. I got Almond Joy ice cream with a waffle, topped with strawberries and whipped cream for $5. Such a reasonable price for the amount of ice cream/toppings you receive! See the picture I uploaded to know what I mean. I highly recommend just coming here instead of indulging in the national brand sales at the grocery store. The price of a pint (or maybe it was a half gallon) is slightly pricey but it's so worth it. You can tell they use wholesome, fresh ingredients in their ice cream. However, when we called they said they were open until 11pm which was perfect! When we got there, we were overwhelmed with the array of flavors. The gentlemen was kind enough to let me try a few samples. Every one I tried, I said, "I'm going to get this one." Until I made my final decision. I believe the flavor I chose was the Lemon Cookie Crumble which I got on a waffle cone. I was the before balance of tangy and creamy! My cousin got the cappuccino chip. I personally do not like coffee but that ice cream was delicious! I also tried a few of the other flavors; blueberry cheesecake, peanut butter cookie, georgia peach. One of the best places to get a milkshake. They really do make amazing ice cream, I had been craving one for so long and so many places had disappointed me with how thin they were. I was looking for a classic thick milkshake and I found it! My go-to cookies and cream flavor. The employees are young, I'm guessing high school students, who are super nice and friendly. They are very quick at moving through customers but doing it in a friendly-professional way. It's great having good service and good desserts! There are tons and tons of flavors to choose from. Hard ice cream, soft ice cream, cones, and they have sugar free hard ice cream options (not something I want but good to have!). I love their red spoons. Random, I know, but it's awesome. I don't understand all the rave reviews for this place; I've had better ice cream from the grocery store (and I'm talking Edy's or Turkey Hill, not even Talenti or some other more splurge-priced stuff). The staff is polite and competent but not enough to be considered friendly. (I did appreciate that, when I ordered hot fudge and sprinkles, the guy taking my order offered to add whipped cream and a cherry since it wouldn't cost any extra.) The ice cream was sickeningly sweet. (I threw more than half of it away, and *I love* ice cream.) The chocolate-raspberry flavor tasted so strongly like artificial raspberry that I couldn't eat it, and the hot fudge tasted like chocolate frosting. My five-year-old son - who likes things so sweet he will *literally* eat frosting straight-up - couldn't finish more than a quarter of his ice cream. I don't think I've ever seen him throw away dessert before. It was so disappointing to spend an afternoon out with my family and have the product fall so short of my expectations. Was just there today and they denied my service dog entry. They violated ADA law by requiring 'proof' for the dog which is not required by the ADA. They did not ask the questions of whether the dog is to mitigate a disability and what tasks it preforms. When asked to speak to the person in charge they said "they were not going to argue with me". Fede ral law trumps all local and state laws but they would not hear me out. According to the ADA law, "The ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness." Also, according to the ADA "Q17. Does the ADA require that service animals be certified as service animals? A. No. Covered entities may not require documentation, such as proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal, as a condition for entry." The dog was under control and not being disruptive. I told the cashier that he is a service dog and I am disabled so he alerts to my disability. He kept arguing with me. These people need to become educated about service animals, the American Disability Act, and how this affects those who are disabled. Just because "people lie about this so we need proof" as the cashier said, does not mean that I am lying. This was not fair and if I would have had a medical emergency that could have been avoided if my service dog was there to alert to it, there would have been bigger issues. I am so disappointed in the way that this was handled. I will be filing a complaint with the Department of Justice about this because disabled people deserve the right to go and do anything that non-disabled people can. Service animals are a life saver. This is my favorite ice cream joint in the Lehigh Valley. Their soft serve is so delicious. I don't even know how to explain it. It's so creamy. The line can get very long here and sometimes it moves very slow but it's worth the wait. There is seating indoors and many benches outside. I don't sit outside much anymore because it's a busy street and I worry about my young kids. Prices are, in my opinion, a bit high. Sometimes it's good that your GPS has no clue where you are going.
