The place to go for ice cream. Fun local vibe to the place with lots of families hanging out eating their ice creams. Lots of fun flavors here. Only problem is that you order before the you can see the ice cream flavors. We had someone hold our place in line while we took a look at the flavors so we would know what we wanted when we got to the front of the line. Thought the pricing to be very reasonable. read more

I have been coming to "The Cup" since I was a kid and it's still as fresh, creamy, and delicious as it was then. All of the ice cream is made on the premises, which is why it is so fresh. There are so many flavors of hard ice cream it's hard to choose and now they have hard and soft frozen yogurt, soft serve ice cream, and galato too. The portions are generous and served in a cup, multiple cone options (cake, sugar, cookie, pretzel, waffle), or milkshake. They also have tons of flavors prepacked for take home as well as ice cream sandwiches and other treats. All of the ice cream is made on the premises, which is why it is so fresh. The scoopers are local high school students who are always helpful and smiling. The only annoying thing about the set up here (and what causes incredibly long lines) is that instead of having the line start by the ice cream, so you can see the vast array of flavor choices, it goes the opposite direction so you can't see anything preorder. This causes a longer wait time than necessary. Especially since they have many seasonal flavors. read more

Having lived in Bethlehem for over two years now, I'm slightly ashamed to say I had never been here before a few days ago. Thanks to the wonderful Yelp reviews I decided I had to try the ice cream! I got Almond Joy ice cream with a waffle, topped with strawberries and whipped cream for $5. Such a reasonable price for the amount of ice cream/toppings you receive! See the picture I uploaded to know what I mean. I highly recommend just coming here instead of indulging in the national brand sales at the grocery store. The price of a pint (or maybe it was a half gallon) is slightly pricey but it's so worth it. You can tell they use wholesome, fresh ingredients in their ice cream. Sometimes clean, simple flavors make the best food. The Bethlehem Dairy Store is a great example of perfect ice cream simplicity. read more

Everything is great about this place. Well, I do have one complaint. Some nights the lines are crazy long. But that's because it's so good. The ice cream is so good and there are so many variations of flavor and type. This has become my go to place for ice cream and I rarely go elsewhere nowadays. read more

Ohhhhhh myyy goodness- the ice cream here is absolutely delicious. There are soooo many options to choose from. Matter of fact, too many options to choose from-but this won't stop me from sampling every flavor they have. I was modest and only had 3 scoops with a sugar cone. And boy were those scoops huge. I like the fact they have other things as well such as fresh popcorn. I intend on spending most of my summer here. read more

Bethlehem Dairy Store - I will not rest until I have tried every single flavor - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

One of the best places to get a milkshake. They really do make amazing ice cream, I had been craving one for so long and so many places had disappointed me with how thin they were. I was looking for a classic thick milkshake and I found it! My go-to cookies and cream flavor. The employees are young, I'm guessing high school students, who are super nice and friendly. They are very quick at moving through customers but doing it in a friendly-professional way. It's great having good service and good desserts! There are tons and tons of flavors to choose from. Hard ice cream, soft ice cream, cones, and they have sugar free hard ice cream options (not something I want but good to have!). I love their red spoons. Random, I know, but it's awesome. Lots of seating and parking is ample. I am sure this place is crazy busy in the summer and I can understand why. Definitely a place to visit for a good milkshake! read more

Bethlehem Dairy Store - Ice cream! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

My cousin and I were in town for business and we were craving something sweet around 9:20pm. I found Bethlehem Dairy Store on yelp and saw that it closed at 10pm! However, when we called they said they were open until 11pm which was perfect! When we got there, we were overwhelmed with the array of flavors. The gentlemen was kind enough to let me try a few samples. Every one I tried, I said, "I'm going to get this one." Until I made my final decision. I believe the flavor I chose was the Lemon Cookie Crumble which I got on a waffle cone. I was the before balance of tangy and creamy! My cousin got the cappuccino chip. I personally do not like coffee but that ice cream was delicious! I also tried a few of the other flavors; blueberry cheesecake, peanut butter cookie, georgia peach. They were all amazing and it was one of the most difficult decisions of my life! I also like how they have more than ice cream. They have cookies, cakes, novelties, soft serve, milkshakes and more! Memorable local ice cream! I told my boyfriend, if I ever go to Bethlehem again, I must take him to Bethlehem Dairy Store! Thank you for a fun time! read more

Best banana splits. I recommend the bing cherry it's one of my favorites! Their ice cream cakes are delicious too.

Definitely a five star all-time ice cream parlor that you just have to visit. Everything is homemade. The chocolate chip ice cream are real chocolate chips and a very clean vanilla. They have a five star chocolate flavor that has every track with you can imagine including peanuts. It is a superb little place. The best ice cream anywhere as well as milkshakes and ice cream cakes. Great and friendly service

I don't understand all the rave reviews for this place; I've had better ice cream from the grocery store (and I'm talking Edy's or Turkey Hill, not even Talenti or some other more splurge-priced stuff). The staff is polite and competent but not enough to be considered friendly. (I did appreciate that, when I ordered hot fudge and sprinkles, the guy taking my order offered to add whipped cream and a cherry since it wouldn't cost any extra.) The ice cream was sickeningly sweet. (I threw more than half of it away, and *I love* ice cream.) The chocolate-raspberry flavor tasted so strongly like artificial raspberry that I couldn't eat it, and the hot fudge tasted like chocolate frosting. My five-year-old son - who likes things so sweet he will *literally* eat frosting straight-up - couldn't finish more than a quarter of his ice cream. I don't think I've ever seen him throw away dessert before. It was so disappointing to spend an afternoon out with my family and have the product fall so short of my expectations. I'd heard that this place was an establishment in the area, but I'll never go back. read more

Best ice cream in the area. They have a ton of different flavor options all of which are tasty. The biggest issue that I have which the place is you can only get one flavor of ice cream unless you buy their large size. It gets very expensive to buy a large every time you come. read more

I am a sucker for some homemade ice cream and this spot did not disappoint! There are so many flavors to choose from - I went with German chocolate cake and butter brickle! My mom got mint Oreo and strawberry cheesecake and loved the rich flavors. The portions are HUGE. Favorite place to get ice cream! I've never had a bad ice cream here i will go out of my way to get a cone here

Was just there today and they denied my service dog entry. They violated ADA law by requiring 'proof' for the dog which is not required by the ADA. They did not ask the questions of whether the dog is to mitigate a disability and what tasks it preforms. When asked to speak to the person in charge they said "they were not going to argue with me". Fede ral law trumps all local and state laws but they would not hear me out. According to the ADA law, "The ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness." Also, according to the ADA "Q17. Does the ADA require that service animals be certified as service animals? A. No. Covered entities may not require documentation, such as proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal, as a condition for entry." The dog was under control and not being disruptive. I told the cashier that he is a service dog and I am disabled so he alerts to my disability. He kept arguing with me. These people need to become educated about service animals, the American Disability Act, and how this affects those who are disabled. Just because "people lie about this so we need proof" as the cashier said, does not mean that I am lying. This was not fair and if I would have had a medical emergency that could have been avoided if my service dog was there to alert to it, there would have been bigger issues. I am so disappointed in the way that this was handled. I will be filing a complaint with the Department of Justice about this because disabled people deserve the right to go and do anything that non-disabled people can. Service animals are a life saver. Here are the laws: https://www.ada.gov/regs2010/service_animal_qa.html#:~:text=A.-,No.,ID%20tag%2C%20or%20specific%20harness. I hope the owner reaches out about this. read more

This is my favorite ice cream joint in the Lehigh Valley. Their soft serve is so delicious. I don't even know how to explain it. It's so creamy. The line can get very long here and sometimes it moves very slow but it's worth the wait. There is seating indoors and many benches outside. I don't sit outside much anymore because it's a busy street and I worry about my young kids. Prices are, in my opinion, a bit high. Most recently I got a small and 2 kids sizes and it was alittle over $9. Seems high for getting kids sizes. read more

Good lord, this place is dangerous. Hands down, one of my favorite dessert places in all the Valley, if not the best. Fresh, delectable ice cream to make you and your tummy filled with glee. Armed with a mind-boggling assortment of flavors and toppings than you know what to do with, this place knows how to make you, your family, your neighbor, your friends, your dog and everyone else you might know very, very happy. What stands out most in my head are those dreamy, thick milkshakes. Mmmm. I compare all others to these shakes. What's my favorite, you ask? Orangle creamsicle! It's a slice of orange heaven. Not in the mood for ice cream? Try their intensely flavored Italian ices and be prepared to forget about the competition. There's no real comparison here. Really. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are almost too generous. Did I really say that?! Be forewarned now. Lines can be legendary, especially in the warmer weather. This is awesome ice cream and people from all around know it. Now you do too. read more

Sometimes it's good that your GPS has no clue where you are going. One evening, on the way home from a family visit the kids started to complain that they were hungry, that they were thirsty, that they were... well you get the picture. Not a problem says I, I'll just punch in the nearest Wawa in the old GPS and we'll be off and gone without a problem. Next thing I know, we're off Route 22 heading south and it doesn't look like we'll be running into that Wawa any time soon. As we enter Bethlehem, I am now certain we are off track, but, as I reach around for the old-fashioned GPS (the paper map), I see a sign that says "The Dairy Store" just a block up. I could go for ice cream and so could everyone else. Well, let me just say, serendipity is for real and boy am I glad my GPS unit isn't perfect, because we had some of the best ice cream ever. Everyone was happy with all the different flavors we tried (I had Black Raspberry, which you have got to taste). The bad news for us - we now live at least six hours away - still... we could do a dairy run on a Saturday... honey, get the kids in the car... read more

Go here for the best hot fudge sundaes! My high school principal (retired) owns the place and employs mostly students to scoop to the throngs of fans. This is classic Bethlehem. Formerly known as Mowrers, and then for a time in my childhood we called it Abbott's, and now it's either Bethlehem Dairy Store or The Cup, used interchangeably, I've heard - "on the street." Unfortunately the Bethlehem Dairy Store is close to home. Fortunately it rocks because I LOVE ICE CREAM! I'm not going to go overboard because where I grew up in Jersey I've had a couple of places like this close by, BUT! i've never been to a dairy store that I love more than The Bethlehem Dairy Store. Plenty of the best flavors to please anyones taste buds. Sometimes they add a flavor and sometimes they retire a flavor. My current favorite is the almond joy or the mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. And I have to cover it with the brown bonnet (the hard chocolate shell that is poured on). Great sundaes and they have italian ices too. You may have to put up with lines out the door but it moves fast. The staff is young, mostly high schoolers, but they are consistently friendly in the midst of the chaos surrounding them. And the price is right. I never felt like i've spent too much. read more
