We got a room with two queens . Very spacious. I did notice hairs in the shower but other than that very clean. (I clean houses for a living) I was impressed with how everything else was clean. There is a musky smell as soon as you walk into building but could be old age. The room looks updated and the decor is nice and the room smells fresh. The carpets in the hallway were very clean. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but we went to check it out and it looks really nice! read more

If I could give this half a star i would. When we arrived at the hotel, half of the area was under construction with no way to access the lobby from the "executive suites". We had to go around the building, passing broken taped up glass around a run down pool, with cement blocks all over the place. Paper signs paved the way to a promised breakfast buffet the next morning. I am told the pool had a urine smell. The entrance to the "suites" was pitch black. It was also shielded by a huge panel of broken glass. The first floor, in the dark, had wooden planks on the floor. It felt like my kids and husband and I were in a horror movie. My children told me that they were scared to enter - In the room, there was no toilet paper. It was also filthy. Our door would not lock. I tried to call the front desk but there was a busy signal out of service tone. More horror vibes. I have never been scared or disgusted staying at a hotel so this was a complete first! My neighbor had a room in which the carpet was soaked through. Maybe a warning concerning construction would have been appropriate. I spoke to the front desk and they basically agreed with me as if he had heard it before. I was promised a refund and a call from management by 7am the next day. Received no refund and no phone call despite what they promised. My family and I have now been driving in the middle of the night to avoid having to experience those feelings again. read more

Horrible experience at this hotel. When we got there to check in and went to our room, the room was being worked on, and we were not notified of this. They put us in another room, which did not have sliders like the other room had that I booked in the first place. The room had no towels or hand towels and when I called down to get some, they did not bring them to the room. They told me to meet them to get some. That is completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. The beds were so uncomfortable. We did not sleep all night. We were told there was a heated pool and it was ice cold and then we were told they do not use the heated pool until winter. I understand it is summer, but sometimes it rains and you cannot go to the beach and that was the whole reason we wanted a heated pool. The staff didn't know anything. I experienced something at this hotel that I never have in my life. After a lengthy check in process, I was finally given keys to my room. As I walked into my room, I quickly realized that someone else had also been given keys to this room - and they had arrived first. Let me list the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Lots of space in the double queen room! We had 4 people and it was never cramped 2. The breakfast is fantastic and it's different every morning 3. Staff is extremely helpful 4. 24/7 free coffee and fresh cookies Now the cons: 1. Layout is a bit strange. Lots of hallways and stairs to get to the pool and breakfast area 2. The bathroom has a timer for the light and fan that you have to twist. It only lasts 5 minutes 3. I checked in on a Saturday night @ 9:00 P.M. August 27, 2022 when I arrived there the attendant was outside talking to someone after a minute or two she came in I was checked in and proceeded to my room I noticed the rug was a little ripped okay no big deal I'm not going to get picky I took a bath I noticed the stopper was not working 100 percent I had to keep adding water during the bath, the next morning went to have breakfast it's free 6:30 - 9:30 A.M even though it's free the breakfast was very bland the total bill for that night with taxes and using my AAA discount was $ 299.00 dollars for the night. read more

Stayed for two nights with two adjacent rooms for our family. The rooms were pretty spacious. The pool was fun for our family to splash around in. The breakfast buffet was a small bit better than other Best Western hotels. The staff were really friendly. There hotel is close enough to the beach that the drive isn't arduous, but far enough away that it's quieter than staying by the beach. There are lots of good restaurants around, including the excellent Logan's right across the street. The only downside was that the beds themselves were a bit too hard, my wife and I both had small aches from two nights. read more

This is an okay place to stay if you have no other option. Our room was directly next to the front desk which meant hearing people screeching down the hallway at 9am after they checked in. Considering these guests were yelling from the lobby to the hallway where the rooms are, I was a bit disappointed no one at the front desk asked them to be quiet. It also meant when the door to the lobby opened, it sounded like the door to our room was being opened which was a bit unnerving. Room placement aside, I expected this hotel to be a lot cleaner than it was. The hallways smelled like chlorine but fortunately the room did not. There was a ring of dirt around the bottom of the tub which looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. And finally, we found a dying cockroach on our floor in the morning. Reasonable rate but you get what you pay for. Not sure what makes this a Best Western "Plus". The hotel is worn, dated, tired, and in need of basic maintenance. In my room, the lighting was inadequate, hot water was hard to come by in the sink (OK in the shower), you couldn't dry a small toddler with the thin towels, rust around the toilet water connect... The first day I had to call for clean towels when I returned in the evening and found there had been no maid service. Whatever negativity I felt about the quality of the hotel was magnified when they called me one morning as I was about to head out for the day and told me I would have to move to another hotel. I was told I never should have been allowed to make my reservation in the first place as the hotel had a special event booked for "some time". Mind you, I made my reservation in January for an April stay and received several email confirmations and reminders during that intervening time. When I pointed out I had already been there 2 days of my 4 day reservation I was told I should have been informed of this when I checked in and they were sorry. They sent me to another Best Western where I received a nicer room but was further away from my temporary work place. I will never stay at a Best Western again. read more

Decent hotel for area and quality. However, for this price I could have stayed at a Hampton or a much nicer hotel. It was pricey and outdated. Front desk staff was new and waited in a long line before finally being checked-in. When I arrived to my room, used towels were left on the bathroom countertop. For a 4:15pm arrival when check-in is 3pm this is absolutely unacceptable. I asked the housekeepers for clean towels and they handed me one bath towel for two people. I proceeded to ask for more, but their English was not clear. Bed was comfortable and room was clean besides that. Breakfast buffet was decent and hot coffee/tea and cookies are nice in the lobby. Room was clean. 4 stars only because it took about 5 minutes to get hot water. I was almost ready to call the front desk to complain but I felt the water starting to get warm. To begin.. Our stay first starts off in the parking lot. Where it is made extremely unclear which door to enter and where to park when checking in. After wandering around and finally finding the front desk we proceed to ask the desk attendant if we could check in to our room where she rudely told us to wait while she addressed other customers with a similar astonishing tone. She had no regard for customer service, and I'm not sure she has ever smiled a day in her life. The girl at the front desk after about a half an hour informed us that we could not receive the room because the person that booked it was only 20, and not yet 21. Now this is a policy we would have been happy to abide by, however, we received no information saying this, unlike other hotels which clarify an age preference prior to booking and payment. The girl in the desk then proceeded to tell us that we received a confirmation email of the booking with this information once we had paid for the room. So you pay, then are told you can't get what you just payed for. However we did not receive this email. When asking to speak with a manager, it was to our disbelief that we were told we could come back the next day around nine am to speak with one, and that we could not be issued a refund. I was in complete dismay! If the service we paid for will not be provided, a refund should be issued. Finally we were able to speak with an older housekeeper gentleman who was very friendly and told her to let us have our room. We had now been waiting 40 minutes. We go to our room at 9:46 pm, it is not cleaned whatsoever from the previous guests stay. We call and they said someone would be up. A man came and asked if we were renting and then left. We called again and she said someone would come. At this point an hour has gone by so we walked around looking for our help. Only to find the short staffed hotel having all 3 of its workers sitting outside on a bench! Unbelievable! At nearly 11 a man brought us sheets and told us to put them on ourselves. He didn't even give us proper sheets we had to ask for the correct size, and for him to take out the trash. He cleaned nothing. No vaccum, and didn't step foot in the room. He only took what we gave him. It was an absolutely disgusting stay and I would never go back to a best Western in my life. I would never recommend this hotel chain to anyone. read more

Sand in the sheets, mold in the bathroom, and cigarettes. This place should be shut down at the very least, maybe burned down. Our first room reeked of cigarette smoke, so we requested a new room. Our second room, had mold in the bathroom, and what seemed like a bucket of sand in the sheets. We asked to relocate to our THIRD room, where there were stains on the carpet, and hair on the floor. I'm not a picky person by any means, but this hotel by far takes the cake for the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. The whole placed smelled like a rotting carcass. Check-in was fast, even at 1:30 in the morning. I had made my reservation through Best Western. I heard the desk guy answer a call just before he checked me in. Someone called to get a room rate and the the walk-up rate was $30 less than my reservation. So, consider that before you make a reservation. The room was fine. It was clean and we had no issues with it. The parking lot was safe and not sketchy, even at 1:30 am. Breakfast was pretty bad. The powdered eggs were cold and the bacon was laying there in a giant wad. The coffee was some weird flavored coffee that was ...yack...No one in the family could finish the food and we went to Dunkin' Donuts instead. Any advantage to the breakfast on-site was lost. The staff seemed really nice and they are trying hard. The quality of the breakfast was enough to make me say I wouldn't stay there again. When you stay at a motel/hotel for only a night and just to get some sleep, breakfast is about the only thing there is to look forward to before getting on the road again. And if breakfast sucks, it's kinda hard to feel good about the stay. read more

This place is a fairly pleasant little getaway for a weekend in Hampton Beach's off-season when the nightly rates are lower. It's just 10 minutes or so's drive from the beach, has nice enough rooms, an indoor pool and a fairly good complementary breakfast. I don't think it'd be as exciting in the on-season as you'd be paying a lot more for the room. In the off season at the lower rate, it's priced just about right for what you get. It's very cozy. The pool's a little gross. The temperature is nice and soothing but something about the water just felt kinda... thick. We didn't stay in there very long. All in all, a nice enough place that's better (again, in the off season) in a value sense than just considering for overall excellence. It also helps if the hotel is hosting a comic show that weekend you'd like to attend. Which is NOT something that requires an overnight stay in the same hotel like a comic CONVENTION does, but hey, any excuse to take weekend beach getaway, even in the off-season, is a good one. read more

The bar and restaurant are no longer functioning, the jacuzzi is boarded up, the rooms look so outdated that we were actually scared to touch some of the furniture and hangings. The wi-fi was super annoying- kept timing out, asking you to put in a password every 5-10 minutes and didn't get great signal. The outside doors, though should, did not lock- not exactly a safe feeling. For the price per night, this was definitely not what we expected. While walking along Hampton beach we saw an inn on the water with a lower price that had availability. Wish we stayed there instead. As a former local visiting the area I was pleasantly surprised to find that this chain is run by other locals. It turns out that the local feel and accountability is what makes this place special. The staff really takes care of you. Managment must be doing something right. They've won my business through their professionally and great customer service. I complain to Best Western and they tell me they can't be responsible for their 3rd party companies that book their rooms. Well... I'm trying to practice gratefulness and I really am truly grateful for a roof over our head and am truly grateful for enough to eat. With that said the Best Western Plus at Hampton provided us with the necessities and we are grateful. Some of the things that could be improved are as follows: The "suite" we were provided was nothing short of weird. A huge room with 2 queen beds and a kinda kitchen. There was a sink and a full-size stove with a microwave above it (but nothing to cook with) There were cabinets above this with 2 dirty plates and a fork that must have come from the free breakfast. Next to this was another sink that would be used as your bathroom sink and finally a water closet containing a toilet and shower (with a very low showerhead). My biggest item that could be improved is the cleanliness. When we walked into the room the ac was on full blast. We later learned that a cold room keeps the odor down. There was noticeable hair in and around the water closet and the extra sheets in the closet were not folded but rather shoved up on the shelf. The next item that concerned me was security. The outside doors to this hotel all have broken key locks and are just left ajar. Anyone can just walk right in. Now nothing was stolen and we are truly grateful for that. The whole experience reminded me of a place that someone would go in order to try to get away from peers and try to detox. We did enjoy the free breakfast and I give BW credit for leaving a good final taste in our mouth but we will not be returning. (oh yeah, avoid the free cookies at the front desk, they are burnt). read more

The wife and I had stayed at this establishment for a wedding where also the reception was as well we had family kicked out for smoking outside talking without warning and when me and a brother went for check in our rooms were moved next to the security office as well as the front desk it seems we had a target on out back the second we got there the best man as well as the mother of the groom we're not allowed back for even the reception the lady at the front desk were very unprofessional every time we were to bring something in from our car they were watching what we were doing and reporting to the front desk clerk it felt more like prison than a night at a motel further more the police had to be contacted due to others being loud in the night when I had a 3 and half hour drive back to maine next morning don't have a wedding reception here because they are not helpful let alone polite about anything they say there is a three warning rule before ur out of there our family didn't get one warning there's broken cupboard doors in the room and they don't seem to care much when u need somthing it felt more like jail in my opinion can't even bring my blanket in Wich we do because of covid without every move being reported and being laughed at when we decided to bring our own pillows and blankets the woman at night is very rude swearing walking by me because there was no way to get ahold of her due to being told she wasn't on the premises when she was infact staying there over all it wasn't the best experience and I will never stay there again no room is worth the feeling of being jailed read more
