Date of service: 7/14-7/15
Issue: Ball moss left in front trees
Leading up to the date of service, Brad continually replied to any/all requests for lower quote/price with: "You have a ton of trees, man", "With the amount of trees you have, it's going to take a full crew working for two solid days of work", and cited all the big jobs he had on his resume: City of Lakeway, Zilker Park, and on and on. We were finally able to agree on a price and scheduled the date of service for 7/14/2014.
Upon completion, I arrived at house to meet Brad and write a check. I walked around in amazement, as the work done changed the look of my yard drastically. As I continued to walk around yard the following weekend, I noticed that a great deal of ball moss still remained in two trees in the front yard. I reached out to Brad the following week (on 7/21) to let him know about the ball moss he missed and he said, "You told me you were satisfied with the work, why didn't you say something then?" Explained that I'm no tree expert, and just as he had repeatedly cited to me during contract negotiations, it was extremely hard for me to know what to look for and inspect every single every detail on every tree and due to the sheer amount of trees, especially when he was pulling me in every direction to ask about particular trees, etc. He told me to be patient, and he would see when he could get a crew back out to my address. I waited for nearly two weeks, but still no call. But of course my $5,000 check was cashed the day after they left my house the first time. It's easy to treat the customer like sh*t when they've already got paid.
I called Brad again on 8/4, and he again cited he still didn't have anything scheduled in the vicinity of my address, and isn't going to pay a crew to go out to my address just to complete the job, and said to give him another 2-3 weeks and he would get a crew out to finish up the job.
I waited patiently as the weeks went by, but still no call from Brad, not even an email. I reached out to Brad again on the second day of week 4 (on 8/26), and he said he will call me back once in office so he can look at the schedule and get something setup for next week (9/2-9/5). At this time I informed him I am writing a review covering my experience, and would be posting the review to any cite that had a place for it as well as the BBB, and let him know how he handles this moving forward will dictate how I wrap up my review. He responded with: "If I find anything negative written about my business, just know I will retaliate negatively". What is that, Brad, a threat? Am I to be worried that he will harm my trees, or was his threat personal, and meant towards the safety of me and my family? UNBELIEVABLE!
Later that afternoon I get an email from Brad stating: "I will have a crew at your home Tomorrow afternoon and to try to touch up the 1 oak closest to sidewalk and driveway. This is an attempt to remove more ball moss in the one tree, This it is not a guarantee that we can remove all the ball moss but will do our best". I had to reply and let him know again that it was more than one tree, and identified the tress once again.
Well, as of today, 8/27, my service is finally complete. Nearly two months after the fact, but the job is complete nonetheless. I STRONGLY advise anyone to seriously think about what they expect when it comes to customer service, especially from someone whom you've paid $5,000 and ask yourself, do I want to be told they will finish the job as agreed once it makes financial sense to them? How about nearly two months after the job was to have been completed? Do I want to feel threatened if I post a review lining out what my experience is? I mean, without reviews, what do we have to go off of? I'm not scared of people like Brad with their threats. Be smart. Think twice. read more
