I gave this pest control company multiple years to prove they were worth it. The only thing they consistently delivered? The bill. Actual service was another story. Our technician would occasionally show up, sit in his truck, maybe do a quick lap around the house, and leave. Rarely did we ever see any real treatment or effort--no visible spraying, no meaningful work--yet the bugs were always very much alive and thriving. We ended up doing our own pest control just to keep things manageable, which defeats the entire purpose of paying a "professional" service. When I finally called them out on the lack of service, their tone immediately shifted from neglect to aggression. Instead of fixing the issue, they got defensive. After canceling, they continued billing me anyway. Now their manager and billing department are threatening to damage my credit over $167--for services they barely performed. On January 11, an employee named Ross from Best Pest & Termite Control entered my property without permission and stepped approximately two feet into my yard, where he sprayed chemicals directly onto my vegetable garden. This action was unapproved, unsafe, and deeply concerning. Upon witnessing this, we immediately confronted Ross and asked him to leave the property. He was in the yard for no more than 30 seconds. We contacted the company right away to report the incident. Despite this, the company is attempting to charge us for a full service, not even a discounted rate. This charge is not only unjustified based on the extremely brief and partial visit, but the following scheduled tasks were never completed: No interior treatment was conducted; No rodent trap maintenance was performed; The technician did not follow through with the expected services outlined in our agreement. Since our complaint, the company's representatives have been extremely unprofessional. One individual named Marty has been especially vulgar and hostile in communication--borderline threatening--and should not be employed in any customer-facing capacity. Another representative, Ernie, told me they would bill me regardless and just send it to collections. A third, Jennifer, continues to antagonize and escalate issues rather than resolve them. I had termites in my house one year ago and was told to call Best termite. I Did that told me i had subterranean Termites and the only way to get rid of them was to use there bait service all around the outside of my house. The cost over 1000 dollars. I ask if this will rid them , and was told absolutely. One year later i have over 35 active subterranean termites in my house again. I called the owner Richard , he said, " its like a doctor i cant quarantee you wont get them again" and he laughed. I have the contract which says they will retreat if within a year which he has refused to do. I have a Barrister Bookcase that had evidence of termites. I took the unit to Best Termite because they had a "vault" to place the piece in, so it could be exterminated. When I picked up the unit, the wood had warped due to moisture. I immediately pointed it out to Ernie who said, there is no moisture in the vault, which was a utility trailer. The bookcase was taken directly to an antique repair facility and the master carpenter there felt the piece and said, "it's still damp, you can feel it". I left 3 messages for Ernie and never received a call back. I then emailed an estimate and requested reimbursement. Ernie completely denied any liability. The unit has now been repaired and my attorney suggested I make one more attempt to reach them prior to filing a claim. I called and Ernie declined to speak with me. I recently utilized Best to tent (fumigate) my ninety-year old home for termites. The salesman Tony was great - he explained everything in detail, why he thought their company was the one I should go with, and after surveying my house, gave me a quote. Apparently they are very busy, so I had to wait a few months after paying a deposit, but that was fine since they told me about it ahead of time. I was, however, concerned when a few days before they were due, I still had not received a call from their office to confirm and make arrangements for storage bags, key pick up, and alarm code. Once I called them, they made arrangements for Tony to get the key. Which fell through. So then they made new arrangements. He finally came and got the key from my office. Then, the morning of my fumigation, I received a phone call from a worker who was at my house "We need the key". Ummm.. ok.. so I called their office and told them that Tony needed to get the key to the workers. As far as I can tell, the actually tenting went fine, however there was some unfortunate damage that the workers didn't feel the need to mention. When they pulled some ancient paint cans away from my house (which I didn't even know were there) they left them on the driveway, which is now stained. I have a gas water heater vent which they broke completely - the pipe was broken, pulled out from the heater, and the bracket broken off the roof. I understand that this stuff happens, but the fact they didn't mention it is very aggravating. To this day, no one from their office has done a follow up call to make sure everything was okay; not even when I went by their office to pick up my key. I would recommend them, but they need to work on their communication skills, both internally and with their client. read more

BEST tented and fumigated our house in May and we had them see and acknowledge damage their crew did that was far outside the scope of what was "normal" incidental damage from the tenting. Their crew used the decorative wood framing on our French doors as rungs of a ladder and broke them. We had Tony the sales rep come over and he agreed it was their fault and they would take care of the cost of repair. I contacted Tony many times with no reply to furnish the repair invoice. I contacted the company who said Tony would contact me. Nothing. I took pictures of everything the day before the tenting and then saw the damage the day we moved back in. Why 5 stars? Because who knew that pest control could be so great? --- --- --- The joys of owning a home mean that you have to deal with bugs. I had a lot of bugs around when I moved in. Then I called Best Termite, and now I have rarely see bugs. I pay them about $55 every other month to basically be bug-free. The Daddy Long Legs are pesky and don't ever really go away, but everything else is gone-zo. One time, ants were getting into my cat's food, so I called them to say I couldn't wait for my regular service. They were out the next day, and the ants are as dead as dead gets. Dead. Usually writing a Yelp review makes me hungry from all the awesome talk about food. I'm hungry now, so I guess I'm just fat. read more

He spent time outside with a long brush cleaning cobwebs and knocking down wasps nests along with treating for insects. First they showed up for their monthly visit and gave me a service I didn't sign a contract for or ask for and then expected a $400 payment. After I closed both the termit and pest control services they then called me 4 months later saying I owed $63. As someone with a degree in business management I can assure you that who ever is running the show has 0 formal education. They are doing this off the cuff and their books are all jacked up. I knew I had problems 3 years ago when I experience swarming termites. I brought in a local pest control company who put holes in the walls and administered gas for a couple hundred dollars. And, yes they came out again a few months later when the swarming returned. And a year later charging me more money. No successful results. Then a year and a half ago I tried the do it your self route going to much work removing much decking, etc... then replacing it and, then, achieving no success again. I have an Airbnb and had been lucky no guests witnessed any problems. But, knowing that this was an ongoing problem, I contacted 4 termite companies for estimates. Best was the last to get back to me and I almost decided I had enough companies coming to see me; luckily for me, I made the appointment with Best. Not only was Shawn most knowledgeable , but he was sincere, easy going and honest with me. No sugar coating, no options to consider, no other remedies for my problem as the others professed. He did an inspection with me, told me what action should be taken, what difficulties might be encountered, gave me an estimate and within a few days agreed to set a date convenient for my Airbnb calendar. I paid half down a week later and 2 1/2 months later this building was tented. The team of guys not only showed up right on time, but everything went like clockwork through out the whole process. There were, I think 5 or 6 young men, all most professional, communicating with each other on the best procedures and employment of equipment, etc..., etc... I was impressed not only with the friendliness, the co-worker appreciation exhibited between them and the mutual respect shown each other, but more so with the realization that I was receiving a custom job, not the one size fits all solution I have seen with others on the property in the past. Really, I was kind of blown away with these guys all working together in concert, having fun with it and getting the job done. We knew we wanted to tip them all to show our appreciation and it was graciously received. Still, my hope is that this company realizes how important it is to have this crew represent them so well - even in the covid era. I just got my house tented for termites by BEST. I was impressed how smooth everything was (i.e. communication, day of service, after service, etc.). Everything happened without hiccups. And their prices are fair. And the results were wonderful. I also use BEST for my bi-montly pest control around the house. They have killed bugs that other companies couldn't. Best started out great - I began using them in Fall 2020. The usual maintenance person left about one year later. I would always receive a phone call from him before the appointment and once he visited, he'd leave a door hanger to let me know he stopped by the couple times I wasn't home. Well, all of that was no longer happening after he left. I received phone calls for about two visits from the new person and that was it. The only way I knew he visited was after I received the magical bills. I requested the confirmation calls and a door hanger for visits since he always scheduled when I was never home. I needed proof he visited because I didn't believe he did. I was told by Marty that he visited because Marty could see it on the GPS system. Ok, so again, I requested the calls and door hanger. Marty said he would TRY to make it happen. I found it odd that he was trying to convince me to trust him/his company, but refused to do the things that would build my trust. Besides, I thought it was company policy since it was always done by the predecessor. So after calling again about getting more magical bills, but no evidence of service, the guy had been put on the lawn duty - but "why" I thought: according to Marty, he'd been doing the work. I don't think so. I was going to cancel. (Btw, this company will not cancel your service without you speaking to someone, even though you don't have a contract- it's a ploy to keep you.) So there again was Marty. He assured me that he'd do the service himself. He gave me his direct number so I could reach him anytime. Again, I still wanted the door hanger, but nada. I had more bugs around my doors than ever and I don't think he did the work either so I decided to cancel again. Marty again was gonna take care of it. So I decided to text him on his direct line/phone. Well, it wasn't a cell. I could handle that. However, when I called the number, it was the general office line. I asked the young lady was it his direct line and she said no. It seems that someone does not like to be honest in their dealings about anything, so I had to leave this company alone. I told them to cancel and nobody better not call me about canceling or come to my property, and I better not get another bill. They finally listened. Be careful when dealing with them. If you're not home when they're coming out, I'd reschedule. According to Marty, their scheduling didn't work with mine, but it did initially. read more

I used Best based on a recommendation and although they do get the job done, I was uncomfortable with the process. I have a guesthouse on site and informed the salesman that I would not provide a key since I would be accessible at all times during the tenting process. The day of the fumigation, no professional representative arrived on site. Only a truckload of "workers". One worker who appeared to be the "lead" walked around shirtless and insisted I provide a key. Considering the unprofessional dress and demeanor, I was hesitant. I had taken valuables out of my home, but it still made me highly uncomfortable to hand a key to someone I had not met previously. No call was made from the office or salesman to inform me of what to expect the day of. How do I know they wouldn't make a copy and later come back into my home when I am not there? (Now Re-keying my home at an additional expense) I was told by the salesman i would be able to enter my home the second day after the tent was taken down and the home aired out. It now the 3rd day and I still have signs posted and no communication from Best. I also feel they could have done a better job protecting plants and grass around the house. After the tent was removed they spread the tarps over my newly planted sod and due to residue on the tarps some of the grass is now dead. There were also a few plants that the tarps could have been placed around to avoid killing them. I'm not exactly pleased with the less than professional service, lack of communication and compromised security of my home and family. The whole experience was very stressful and some of that could have been avoided by BEST "setting expectations" of what to expect. Richard was the rep that came out to measure the air quality in my home prior to allowing us back in. He said it best when he stated "We do this everyday, customers don't" sometimes we forget that" Something to remember going forward... read more

Be careful signing service contract with this company. Service contract automatically renews without notification and although our billing was on a yearly basis (the yearly contract should have taken us to 12/18/18) we are being billed for the first quarter of the new year despite cancelling service on 1/15/19 due to a renovation. Clearly should have owed for just one month, if that, since there was no spray in January 2019 and December spray could have easily been done prior to the December 18 contract expiration. Earnie -- the manager -- charged my card earlier than the contract stated, resulting in my bouncing several checks. They would not compensate me anything. I absolutely love Best Termite & Pest Control. When I bought a house, I knew this was one of the first things I needed- as cock roaches are my worst fears!! Best Pest Control was a great deal! Somewhere around $300ish for a year of service- which included 2 thorough indoor/outdoor treatments and a full outdoor treatment every other month. Their theory? Treat the outside well enough so that bugs never get inside. The service was easy to sign up for and schedule my first treatment. You can log on to their website to view the subsequent appointment dates (though you do not need to be home since it's just the outdoor one). Mike was assigned to my house as my pest control tech- and he is awesome! The best (pun intended) part of this service is that at any point if you discover bugs- in or out- you just call them and they send your tech out right away!! I've called 3 times (once for a roach sighting, twice for wasp nests outside), and all 3 times Mike has shown up within a couple hours to treat the issue. I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely be renewing my contract next year! read more

I would give ten stars if I could, Best Pest Control is the knight in shining bug killin' armor. We have been receiving service now for about two years after moving into an old bungalow in Seminole Heights. We knew our termite situation would need some attention regularly (it had been treated previously and there were no live termites but we wanted it regularly serviced). We have bimonthly service and the rate was the most reasonable of the three we were quoted. Our service guy's report also won us over, he was just the bee's knees (I'm cracking myself up with these amazing bug jokes over here). We were also having some serious brown widow issues which is NOT OKAY NEVER OKAY PLEASE CAN WE MOVE. I was slightly wigging out over these guys and not only did they treat our entire yard for them, they also removed all egg sacs and spiders from the areas where they were seen. I never slept so well after their first visit and they have always come back out if I see something else that makes me want to faint as part of our plan. Once, we were having some rodent issues (really, I'm sure I'm making the Heights out to be a paradise) and our tech removed the low hanging branches from a palm tree for free. The tree needed it anyway and we hadn't gotten a chance to remove the dead branches and coming home to see it done was above and beyond. He explained that they can attract rodents. Knight in shining armor. Yes, yes, and yes. I know I'm a little long winded but our yard was getting out of control with my husband not home so I requested a one time lawn mow (which they don't do). They did it anyway and coming home to a freshly cut, weed whacked, edged, and blown off driveway was awesome. I seriously cannot recommend these folks enough, they take time to write you notes when you aren't home to tell you what was done and have always gone above and beyond for our home.
