We have been looking to have a shed for storage. The first people never sent us a drawing or any info. The second company did not respond for a request for an estimate. Hector and his team, initially run by David, were fantastic. During the initial discussion, Hector proved to have an excellent grasp of architecture, construction, and the costs associated with the various aspects of building an AUD. He was knowledgeable about local permits and the importance of informing our neighbors and the HOA about our plans. Everything ran very smoothly! And as Hector anticipated, the work took almost exactly 1 month to complete. Hector communicated with me regularly by email or text about work plans. There was only one 2 day delay (windows took a couple days longer to come in than expected). From what others have shared, that is minor in the scheme it things. Hector was great at asking about details over time, so he didn't overwhelm us. He confirmed as he systematically planned and ordered items - like paint colors and boarders, type of door, type of windows, outlet locations, wiring (we brought in an outside electrician for the house to house work), etc. What a change this finished little house has made in our lives! I shopped for a shed company for about a year until I found Best Shed's website and went browsing through their ample gallery (go to their website to see the whole thing - there are hundreds of sheds to look at). There was a shed that stood out - entirely clad in real stone, and sporting wood beams. It had a VERY rustic look. I knew I had finally found my builder! I designed the look of the shed in Chief Architect software (not strictly necessary, but I've done eight renovations and now it's how I do things), and hired Hector and his team to figure out how to build it. Picture of the rendered concept-shed attached. Hector was VERY patient and indulged my weird passion for building a very small half-timber tavern (I'm in San Francisco and we're limited to 100 sqft). Truth be told, I'm not the hardest customer to deal with, I'm pretty easy going - but I did want A LOT of stuff. And he never gave up or tried to talk me out of all the bits I wanted. For that I'm grateful. :) My little shed/cabin/tavern includes custom stained glass windows (stainedglasswindows.com) the art for which was created from ai, reclaimed barnwood for the half-timber look, stucco for the plaster, chandelier and torch lighting from Romania and Ukraine, blacksmith made hardware from Indiana, and a barn door from Rustica.com. And the shed is a proper building. It is insulated, has full electricity, is fully finished inside and has glued in hardwood floors. It's like a real house (no plumbing, but that's more San Francisco Planning Dept's fault than Best Shed's). I will be honest... it took a while. But that's nothing new for coordinating a variety of trades coupled with trying to build something complicated outdoors over the rainy months. And of this writing it's 94% complete, only missing it's stone footing but I have every confidence that will be coming soon. And what you're asking - price. You aren't going to build what I did (because why would you? You will have your own dream) but I deal with contractors all the time and I thought Best Shed Ever's prices were lower than average for similar work. We used Best Shed Ever for a custom shed in our narrow side yard in 2019. They did the job wonderfully. As the project was just finished, we had some concerns with the level of the floor and walls (they were slightly off). I emailed Hector, and he said he would come by to fix the leveling. A few years later, one of our doors to the shed seemed to become misaligned. He also sent one of his guys to come by and fixed it quickly. Hector and his team were a joy to work with. His projects are aggressively priced but don't let that fool you with regards to the type of build quality and attention to detail that you'll receive. We had a 12x6x9 shed built, double door, with 24"x24" window built. A lot of other shed builders were either extremely over-priced, not available for months, or both. From the time of the estimate till it was built, was a total of just a couple of weeks. Total build time was about a day and a half. Again, we're talking just a storage shed here but the guys built this thing as if it were an extension of our home. From the stainless hardware with torx screws used on the hinges, to the trim work and extreme care taken with getting the painting and trim work just right, you can really tell that Hector and his crew take EXTREME pride in what they do. We bought a shed from them a few years ago and it's a great shed, the service for installation/build was great. However, a few years have gone by and some of the materials Hector and crew used haven't held up. Much of the hardware holding hinges/locks on was not stainless and has rusted out. The OSB Plywood he used in the flooring is also not in the best shape. Not much excuse for having the exterior facing hardware not be 100% stainless and I just replaced all of the hardware with stainless myself. I also wish Hector would have suggested an option for upgrade to real plywood. In all, I'd probably buy from them again, but would insist on them using higher quality building materials. read more

Asked him if he was available to come over to my house to see what I currently had, and what I wanted in a new storage shed. We arranged and time and I texted him my address. Shows up on time, takes a couple measurements, tells me my options, shows me a whole photo album of the different style sheds he has built, color options for paint, and gives me a quote, along with emailing me the quote later on that evening. Had a couple of other jobs that were infront of me already, but we locked in a date and he kept me in the loop via text, which I could appreciate! I contacted this company to get info on having two sheds installed. Almost a week passed and no return call. I finally get a text apologizing for the delay in the reply and a request that I email them with what I need. I text back confirming I'll email everything. I take the time to look and their website and I email in detail about the sheds I want - an $8000+ project. No reply. Nothing. I text a week later to check the status. Nothing. Sheds might be needed now but when the economy turns they aren't a necessity.
