When the plumber, Richie, returned to review his work a week later, he argued with us and said the water was hot. I told him that's not what our complaint was - the temperature wasn't consistent. When we asked him to re-install the previous unit, he said he couldn't because he had thrown it away in the trash. The previous Reem water heater of ours was working just fine. We were just downgrading to a smaller unit. We sent a complaint to the office almost 2 weeks ago but no one has ever called, texted or emailed us back. Absolutely an unreputable company! I can't believe they have so many good reviews when we definitely received the worst service possible. Update: I don't think it's wise for any business to publicly give an "excuse" why they did something that a customer is unhappy about, and rightfully so. Their plumber was told from the start that our current/previous tankless water heater was working just fine. Why would anyone throw away a unit that's working fine? After speaking with Lucy today, I was also asked to revise my review here if they provide a new service that is satisfactory. My husband and I run a small business and we've never asked a customer to revise their online review. It is always the customer's choice to do that on their own. A company's response to a negative review always shows how they truly operate.

We live in an older house in West Tampa. After pretty much a total remodel of both bathrooms and…read morethe kitchen, we experienced a homeowners nightmare...a plumber was doing periodic maintenance on our cast iron infrastructure when a pipe broke. After analyzing solutions with them, which included knocking out walls in both bathrooms, the owner handed us off to APEX. Joe and Mike came over to the house and examined what we had & took pictures. After running cameras through everything, they developed a hybrid solution that involved undermining accessible pipes and replacing with minimal intrusion as well as refurbishing and epoxy coating the remaining small segments of cast iron that would remain. Joe sat down at our dining room table and mapped it all out; showing us video of each problem point as well as what was salvageable & gave us a price. We signed off on it. With much apprehension on our part knowing our home was about to be dissected, Elliot and John arrived to start work. They were prompt, respectful, & empathetic to our dilemna. They were also insistent about putting protective paper down everywhere they worked to protect the flooring. At the end of the day, they swept, vacuumed, and mopped any debris that was remaining. This was the standard throughout the entire engagement. Their workmanship and attention to detail was spot on. All of Joe's guys were phenomenal. John, Elliot, Matt; I cannot remember all their names, were consummate professionals of the highest degree. I would not hesitate to recommend APEX Plumbing.

I get that. NEVER TOLD ME. 2) Broke my gas pipe underground when digging. Mistakes happen. I get that. NEVER TOLD ME. I had to call them to find out why my gas was turned off 2 days later. 3) They propped my gate open to work. Left it that way when they left. My dog ran away. There are 2 signs saying to close the gate. 4) Scheduling nightmare. 5) They moved my hot tub to get to the area of work. They placed the cord on top of the cover. It rained. Broke. Mistakes happen. I replaced it. Then, when they finally came to fix another mistake they made... they left the cord on the cover exposed in a rain storm, AGAIN. I replaced it AGAIN. 6)They filled the hole on my patio with cement. It looked like a child did it. It was a quarter inch to half an inch higher than the rest of the patio. I called and complained. Sent them photos. They assured me they would fix it. It took them almost 2 weeks and 10 phone calls. 7) There's was a fan outside. They used it when filling cement in the hole they dug. Thats fine. Cement was left all over the new fan. 8) With the city program, they were to restore my property of how it was. They removed pavers and just left in a pile. STILL NOT RE-INSTALLED. 9) My home is old and didn't have a clean out. They tell me they need to install one. Great. They tell me, "It will look bad if we put it on the patio. After inspection, we will move it off the patio. Are you okay with that? We take pride in our work." I said "Whatever you think is best. Thanks." Where's is the clean out? In the middle of the patio. They never should have offered to put the clean out else where, if they weren't going to follow through. AND to offer doing something after a city inspection was sketchy. They are 100% not abiding by the city in most likely the majority of jobs performed.

Later that day, Brian Cass called me and was following up on their quote. Brian told me that he was the sales manager of the family-owned business. He told me that if I received a quote that was lower than theirs to send it to him. I checked Cass Plumbing's website, and they have the following in writing: Cass Plumbing's Lowest Price Guarantee Cass Plumbing makes every effort to offer our customers the most competitive plumbing pricing available. To support this effort Cass Plumbing additionally offers the following Lowest Price Guarantee... Lowest Price Guarantee: Cass Plumbing will beat any plumbing price by up to 11%. I was given a rough estimate of 600-1000 over the phone based on inspector photos and description of needed repairs which was assuming replacing the whole cast iron p-trap and replacing the shower diverter. When Marcus called me from the house with good news - not having to replace p-trap and diverter and only to replace fernco and adjust diverter I assumed the invoice would be at the low end of the phone estimate. When he said $917 or $1300 if he had to replace shower diverter. I was a bit shocked but in a tight spot to get this done and the house closed. I told them to go ahead and we could discuss as maybe I was not understanding. He then called back a little over an hour later and said the work was done. In my opinion, these charges were excessive and not reflective of the time, labor, or complexity involved. The work performed was: 1. Replacing a Fernco coupling under the house. There was already ample access in the crawlspace (around two feet or more), and this was a straightforward repair with no major excavation or difficult access required. 2. Adjusting a shower diverter/valve. The "repair" was essentially adding a small block of wood behind it to secure it in place. For these minor items, I was charged $917.27. The invoice included charges such as: Fernco replacement: $149.19 "Difficulty charge Level 1": $206.00 Drywall cutout for access: $212.08 Adjust shower valve: $350.00 I called to discuss this matter with Tim. He stood behind his invoice and reiterated they were not up-charging and they do not bill by the time but by the job. On Tap texted and emailed me after the job for an honest review, so I obliged. I trust this helps the public when choosing a plumbing company.
