We have used United Air Conditioning for 25'years. We use them for our six month maintenance checks, and have never waited more than 2 hours when we needed a repair. They replaced our a/c system 18 years ago, so we contacted them again when we needed to replace our entire system again. Their sales person was very professional and provided us with quotes on three options on the 1st visit. We did get a quote from a second company which was higher and the experience did not come close to what we had with the United Sales person. Our entire system was replaced yesterday in one day. This included moving the air handler from the attic to the front of our garage and installing a 4 ton system. The installers arrived right on time at 8 am and finished the job by 6 pm. Our house was cool by 7:30 pm. The installers were very professional, answered all our questions, and cleaned up everything before they left. I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE ON THE COMPANY OWNER. This is one of the scammier AC companies out there. My blower motor wasnt working. They came to replace it. The next day it stopped working because this company used the wrong part which in turn blew out the compressor. I called and yelled at them for their shoddy work. They went out to the condo to check on why it wasnt working. Except on this visit, the VP Jerry Hardy also came to supposedly "check on the problem". JERRY CAME AND STOLE THE NEW BLOWER MOTOR THAT I PAID FOR! His real motive in going on a service call was to steal the motor to cover up any evidence that his technician messed up. I had to call the police and report the theft. Dont use this company. Many other reputable ones!! read more

They were on time, super helpful explaining everything they did and it was very reasonable pricing as well I'd definitely recommend not only the company but Nate and Damien are the best!! Safety must not be a huge part of the culture in this company. The driver of this pick up truck swerved into my lane on US-19 N and almost sandwiched me between him and a semi truck, which could have been fatal. This driver then proceeds to completely ignore a Pinellas county sheriffs vehicle on the side of the road with its lights on. Everyone moved over to the right lane except this guy. He continued his speed and had a total disregard of the safety for the officer. The picture speaks for itself. Definitely wouldn't want this guy working on my house. We've had United for some years, checking our AC out twice a year. Earlier this week (on Wed), we had a lightning strike our house, burning out the blower motor on our unit. They came out in the evening as an emergency checkup & explained that is what happened. Our unit is an older one but was working fine until the lightning strike. They recommended replacing the motor but had to order it. We were out of AC for 2 days with extremely hot weather and we're an older couple. Short story, they went out of their way to get the motor faster than normal and were able came out Fri evening to replace it and get our AC working again. I had an appointment from 9-10. I missed the call from the technician 6 minutes prior to my appointment. I called back 4 minutes after the missed phone call, and was directed to a different department. When I was contacted back I was told that I didn't have an appointment, when I asked why I had a missed call from the same number, Diane said she would look into it further. When I was contacted back, I was told that I must have called United Refrigeration because no one in the office ever spoke with me. When I said my caller Id said United A/C and that I called the same phone number that called me back there was no way I called or meant to call a different company, especially when the issue is with the ac and not the fridge. Diane one again reiterated that no one spoke with me. So I asked if she was calling me a liar. To which she became defensive and said that she didn't know how I had an appointment but no one spoke with me. At this point I knew I was going to become heated and I tried to hand the phone off to my boyfriend. Diane hung up the phone. I could deal with a mix up in appointment times and needing to reschedule but trying to pass the blame off on me saying I didn't call the right company is where I draw the line. read more

After having two technicians from a different company fail to diagnose and repair my ac problem, I called United Air Conditioning. My system was running nonstop and not cooling below 77 degrees. The other company's techs both said it was normal for my ac not to cool any lower than that because it was "hot outside". They both insisted that my system was working properly. Afterwards, I received power bills that were 4 times higher than normal. After doing a lot of research online, I called United Air Conditioning on a Sunday and spoke to a rep with their answering service. She took my info and said I would be receiving a call back from the technician on call. David called me immediately. He was very knowledgeable and caring. After explaining my situation with my ac not getting cooler than 77 and not shutting off, he was able to diagnose (correctly it turns out) the problem in less than a minute. He said it sounded like my ac and heat were running at the same time. He came out to the house on Tuesday morning and fixed the problem very quickly. I finally had cold air after two months. The bill was very reasonable, too. David disabled the heater wire so I could have my ac work and I was extremely grateful! Jerry, the service manager, came out the following week to finish the job and fixed the wiring issue controlling the heat at no charge. Another very knowledgeable, competent and honest individual who works for United Air Conditioning! When my ac shut down a few days later on a Friday night after hours, I called United. (A technician is always available after business hours and weekends.) Jake called and said it sounded like my system's condensate line was blocked and needed to be cleared/flushed. (I had just had a tune up with Air West less than 3 weeks earlier and the tech did not clean out my condensate line because he said it "didn't need it because it was dripping") Jake was at my house in 14 minutes and he was correct. The problem was sludge in the condensate line. My system has an auto turn off that's activated by a float switch in the condensate line to prevent water damage. Jake ran a shop vac on the line outside and in the air handler. He also flushed the line with clean water. My system was up and running again within 30 minutes. And, yes, the service call again was very reasonable. This was the third employee I had the pleasure of meeting who was competent, knowledgeable, caring and honest. I'm so grateful to this company and it's employees. I highly recommend United Air Conditioning! They are the BEST in Pinellas County! read more

They sent a technician one month with the company. They charged me $225.00 to pump water from the drain line. The tech gave a quick look at the outside unit, while on the phone with someone remotely telling him what to do. One month to the day, my system failed again it was the accumulator that was bad then and now. Owner would not return my calls, wanted to schedule an appointment between 7-9 p.m., after being without cold air for nearly 16 hours, internal temperature of the house 90 degrees. I found a great company that did not charge emergency fee, fast, HONEST, and reliable service. Do your self a favor don't use this company!!! read more

United AC has been leading us on since we purchased a brand new unit and had install on July 5, 2023. We have had service every other week practically due to a leak that they cannot locate. Now (October) they want to charge us 687$ for an isolation pressure test and 4000$ for a new line. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

This company had multiple technicians claim different issues with my air conditioning system. My unit stopped cooling in the summer. The first tech told me he couldn't find anything wrong and just recharged the system with refrigerant. Another tech came out a week later after my system stopped cooling again. He told me I had a leaking valve but he didn't fix it for some reason. Instead he charged the system with refrigerant again and told me to call the office the next day to schedule a repair. The next tech said my coils were damaged and leaking refrigerant and that my options were a costly repair or a new system. At this point I'd already paid for multiple pounds of refrigerant and service calls. I called the office for a quote to replace the unit and they said they'd quote me a new system but then forgot and never sent me the quote. Subsequently a different company found my refrigerant leak in a pipe external to the unit, repaired it, and saved me thousands of dollars. I don't know if United AC is incompetent or unethical, but based on my experiences I'm leaning forwards unethical. I do not recommend this company. read more

Terrible! Unprofessional, inconsiderate, overpriced. When our air conditioner went out, I called for service and was told that it would be a 50/50 chance of them coming out for service on that day. I was told to call another place (by Betty). I contacted United Air Conditioning starting on Sunday I was told to call on Monday (by Dale). I called (spoke to Betty) told me that Diane would be calling me back. No call back so I called at noon only to hear that it would be a 50/50 chance of getting service that day and to try someone else (Betty). I then received a call at 1:00 p.m. from United Air Conditioning and was told that I would get service and that someone would come today from 1:00-4:00 p.m. I waited until 4:30 and called United Air Conditioning because no one called or showed up to my home for service. I called United Air Conditioning and asked if someone will call me and let me know if they are coming out today (spoke to Emergency Service). My home temperature had reached 87 degrees and it was now close to 5:00 p.m., NO service and NO contact from United Air Conditioning. I could have made other plans had communication from United Air Conditioning been accurate and updated. I was in the process of having another company come out that day. Finally, at 7:51 I received a call and a text from United Air Conditioning that technician (Jerry) was dispatched, and that text stated that he was on his way today. Technician arrived at 8:30 p.m. and completed cleaning service of unit by 9:00 p.m. I was charged $247.42. I had an estimate of 100 less from another company. This company has changed, I would not recommend! read more

These guys are AWESOME. I had a quote from another company who bought the company that I got my system from. They wanted $1,363 to just CLEAN my coils which I had cleaned in October, the guy from the other company said it didn't make any sense and that coils should only be cleaned every 5 years. Anyways, long story short, I called United in the morning and they had a technician at my house by the early afternoon. He found the REAL problem which was the other company didn't seal the tray for the AC filter. He cleaned my coils and sealed the tray for $178. I am a very happy and satisfied customer and will DEFINITELY be using United again if I ever have any issues. read more

Our AC went out, the company who put in the AC can't come out for a week so a friend told me to call United Air, the super friendly woman who answered the phone said she was going to try her hardest to get a tech out by 6 pm tonight, being it's not very hot today I wasn't worried ( it's gonna be sooner than the week the other company said) within an hour she called a tech was done with a job sooner than expected so he can come now!!! Well GREAT! A very friendly tech comes pinpointed the problem with on a minute, unfortunately it was my fan motor I'm going to need a new one, now nervous I'm thinking how long for the part to come in? No worries we have it on hand, he leaves in less than 30 minutes he's back and less than 30 from there o hear my AC blowing! I can't say enough how great this company was and is now my new AC company!!!!! Try them I'm 100% sure you won't regret it, and nowadays it's hard for me to say this! read more

In 2014 I paid over $11,000 for a Trane air conditioning system and relied on United Air for installment and follow up yearly maintenance of the unit. Today after my husband went up into the attic to explore a leak issue he discovered that the previous technician simply left the old dirty air filter in the attic along with many water bottles. (Probably left from a previous technician) I will never use United Air again! read more

I purchased my Trane system 5 years ago. It was a very expensive investment. I even paid high dollar for new ducts and programmable thermostat. The one thing I left in the company's hands to provide were the intake grills. They installed them in my ceiling. They installed a large 24" x 18" intake that is metal. Imagine a 2 foot metal grill in your ceiling and the only thing holding it shut is a small half inch plastic clip. How cheap!! Guess what? The weight of the metal broke the clip. In the middle of the night I hear a bang. It is the metal grill hanging from my ceiling. I called United, the woman on the phone lied to me and tried to say these grills are recommended by Trane. I would like to see this in writing. She finally admits they were provided by united. Then tells me I am past my year warranty and I now have to pay over $200 to fix their cheap decision. Just to top it off, they left gapping around the in takes on my ceiling to allow bugs and attic air to come in. United can sell you a high end product but they provide a low end service. If the woman didn't try to lie to me and actually tried to provide honest customer care, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. My recommendation to anyone who buys an ac unit from United, check the quality of everything they install and if they install these cheap intakes with plastic clips in your ceiling, have them replaced within your year warranty for free. read more

Just had a heat pump and handler installed by United A/C. I had two installers who were professional, smart & very knowledgeable about their products and did their work with no breaks or stopping on the job. These two representatives of UAC were neat and polite. In addition, they took care of some problems that should have been dealt with by a company that installed an AC unit for me 10 years ago. I can't say enough about these men and their excellent work habits. I originally got 8 quotes... and compared costs, units/models, what was included in the total price, labor warranties if included or not or even if available to purchase, 24/7 service, maintenance contract, warranty on parts for units, any rebates if available, how long these companies were in business, BBB info, Consumer Reports, Consumer Reviews, etc. and, out of all of these 8 companies I found that United Air Conditioning was the company to beat. Needless to say, I am happy with my handler and heat pump and a job well done by United Air Conditioning. read more
