Called these guys for an emergency, they came out and told me the compressor was totally blown and quoted me for $5k worth of fixes or a brand new install. I got a second opinion and there was nothing wrong with the compressor at all, the tech was surprised as upon arrival he found air handler running with float switch removed and hanging. Would not recommend using this company. We bought a 10k Trane 2 weeks ago and failed the inspection with the items unresolved. Unit turns off every 2 days and they can't isolate and fix the problem. I have requested that a tech comes out today to turn fix the HVAC and get the air back on and was told they are too busy. Will be calling an attorney tomorrow morning and City of Tampa along with MacDill AFB to put them on a black list. I will remove my comment once they resolve my new HVAC issues. read more

Heed my warning with this company...when my family purchased and had the central air system installed by this company 6years ago this was a honest business with an honest owner. I've used them for maintenance for the past 5 years (even referred 2 more friends who had a 2 units installed) I didn't know the company was sold to a crook named Arlin ( whom told me he would respond to this review however he had to ) they send 2 brand new techs out who had no clue at all what they were doing and in turn damaged my a/c unit. I have home videos to prove this to anyone else who needs to see that this repair man walked back and forth cursing for 9 hours stating over and over agin he did not know how to fix this and was on the phone with a senior tech asking for help the whole time. I had no air in my home and had to move my dogs and children off the property for 9 hours. These novice techs were Brian and Nick and I called and spoke with the owner while they were here and told him I had no confidence about what was happening and he told me to give it time If I wanted air for my children that day. After Brian touched the unit wiring and re wiring and made it smoke and had a explosive pop my "board is now bad as well" finally at 10 pm they sent the lead tech another Nick (different last name) is 5 minutes he re wired the unit, showed me the hanging wires and when I asked if he thinks there was even a problem to begin with, with my motor he said "I don't know I wasn't here for the diagnostic" "but this unit would never run properly the way it was left" I spoke with Arlin the owner because I am A single parent of 2 with severe health issues after COVID and in 5 years have never had a problem with this company (just doing the maintenance they stated I needed) and as previously stated even referred 2 new clients who purchased and installed their units with this company) I explained I really feel like they caused these 2 issues and his response was we took pictures so that's enough and he was rude and demeaning. I am not a technician, I cannot say otherwise but I do know that 2 men frantically fiddled with my air conditioning unit for 9 hours resulting in an explosion and smoking (obviously when the unit was damaged) and then the "expert tech" fixed the wiring in 3 minutes. But told me that my board was now fried and needed to be replaced. I tried to appeal to Arlin's humane side and told him I have the videos but he said everyone has to learn( talking about his techs" and that I have no proof and he has pictures. I told him this is an opportunity for him to "do the right thing by someone " and fix the damage they caused after he has charged me 600.00 for something his own men damaged (I was desperate for my kids to have a place to sleep that night) Arlin stated he would refund me the money if he came and re installed my motor ( which he can make sure doesn't function as he's had it in his possession for 2 days) I know these are hard times for everyone not just me but if a company's owner rather make 600 other than be honest and do the right thing after I've been a client for 5 years and he's made 20k in my referrals than this is not a company you want to deal with) Today this is me, tomorrow dealing with this man and his inexperienced techs "who need to learn and practice " according to the owner could be you. He will respond to this saying he has pictures? That proves the tech damaged my unit then took a picture my videos actually show the techs here for 9 hours without a clue of what they were doing. Again most of his "positive" reviews are from clients like myself that dealt with the previous owner and previous technicians. There is nothing I can do at this point as the only option this man gave me was to re install a bad motor that he can insure is bad" but you do have a choice to look elsewhere that's why I took all this time to try to help someone else who doesn't have money to be stolen from them. read more

My central a/c went out on Sept. 25, 2018 and I called Pleasant Air in Largo, FL. It was excruciating hot in my home and I am taking care of an elderly sick relative. I explained that to Pleasant Air and they said they would send someone out to my home within two - four hours. They sent out their a/c technician Mr. Arthur Grayson right on time, and he immediately diagnosed the problem and ordered the needed parts (motor, fan blades, etc.) Mr. Grayson was very concerned about the heat in my home and volunteered to lend me his portable a/c unit until he could fix the central a/c! He brought it into my home and set it up to vent out a window. This portable a/c unit has been a life-saver, and I don't know what we would have done without it. Mr. Grayson went above and beyond the call of duty to fix my a/c for me, and for saving the day for my family by lending me his portable a/c unit. I appreciate very much his expertise and his kindness. He is beyond awesome! Btw, it turns out that there were some unexpected surprises and additional parts needed to be ordered to fix my a/c, but Pleasant Air honored their original price! That's the sign of an outstanding company that has integrity and truly cares about their customers. My central a/c is fixed now and is blowing beautifully cold air again. I want to thank Mr. Grayson and Pleasant Air very much for their professionalism and for taking care of everything for me. This company is amazing! They were very quick to answer my call at 10 o'clock at night and got a technician out there right away. The best part is that my home is still nice and cool and it didn't cost me a fortune. :) I have an older unit (about 18 years old) and the technician said I should think about replacing it. He showed me why (the outside coil is flaking) and explained a lot about how these units work. He didn't pressure me to buy one now or even buy it from them. He just wanted me to be aware that it will need to be changed soon. Overall, I feel that this is an honest and reliable company and plan to buy my new unit from them. read more

Your facts are incorrect, I went to pleasant air with Rob and wrote the check, I had no idea any of this was underhanded, the biggest problem is that I can not get this permitted , because the unit does not have serial numbers. I did not even know I needed a permit, Rob put me in contact with someone at Pleasant air who told me to get the serial number from the unit, which is when I found out the serial number had been removed , the contact at pleasant told me "I was screwed" and the only option was to get a new unit, which I can not afford. An offer to repurchase the unit was never presented to me, I still don't understand why you would be selling units that can not be permitted, and I don't understand why the serial number was removed. read more

My air conditioner went out during the night so I called Pleasant Air around 8 am and told them I needed a service call. By 830 am I had a tech at my door ready to look at my air conditioner. The unit in my home was over 20 years old and has had repair after repair by other companies. I was told that my unit could be repaired again for around $500 to $800. I knew it was time to replace the system I just did not want to face that fact. When a price was worked up for me I was very happy with the price they gave. I told them to get it scheduled, I was shocked when I was told the next morning they would be here to start the install. The next morning the installer was here and did an incredible job and was very professional. He explained everything that was going to go on and how long it would take. Went over all the pros and cons of the system I bought - no real cons to mention. I was really happy that all of that was covered. System installed and works great and professionally installed no mess left and even swept up. The office staff was a pleasure to work with as well. They will definitely be my air conditioning service company from here on out. read more

I recently had a Trane system installed and had a problem with heating, Arthur came out the same day I called (Friday) and unfortunately could not fix the problem. The company was scheduled to come out on Mondaybut Arthur called me on Sunday and told me that he kept thinking about the issue. He came out Sunday on his OWN time and he DID fix the problem. This gentleman is a true professional and customers matter to him. I will be a customer for life, everyone I have dealt with to this point have been wonderful but Arthur is the BEST ever. I want to inform people of my experience with Pleasant AIr Conditioning Services. My wife, who doesn't speak English as a first language called five companies requesting pricing for air conditioning maintenance. The reps from four other companies gave her the info over the phone with no problems. When she spoke to a rep from Pleasant Air, I believe it was Arlen Zell the owner, he said without seeing the unit, they couldn't give a price, but they could send someone out for a free quote. Since this company had all five star ratings on Google and the quote was free, my wife called back to set up an appointment. This was for a rental unit and our tenant is retired. A salesman showed up, Brian, and told the tenant he was there to quote a new air conditioning system. The tenant said this was not for a new A/C but for service. I received a call from Brian and he told me that he was at the apartment for a quote to install a new A/C unit. I told him no. We wanted to service our A/C unit. He then said in a loud voice such as to have the tenant hear him, "So, we are quoting a new A/C system today." I told him again NO. It was for service. He said that he was told by his office that it was a quote for a new A/C unit. I didn't get a good vibe from him as we continued to talk and when he said he would have a technician come out, I said no I think it would be better for me to go with another company. He again said ok I'll have a technician come out. I said again no, I didn't want his company doing any work. When he said a third time,ok so we will get a technician out , I became emphatic that I did not want him there and to leave. I immediately called the company to inform them what happened. A man spoke with me and was very nice on the phone. He said that Brian had worked for them years ago and recently came back. I told him I thought Brian's tactics were very deceptive and it was that conduct that caused me not to want any work done by Pleasant Air Conditioning. I also said that since my wife relied on positive reviews on Google to contact them, I would be posting my experience. I also said that I didn't want to be contacted again by anyone from the company. I later received a text from Brian stating that he sent the recorded calls with my wife to her email address and he apologized for the miscommunication. I listened to the first call where my wife asked for pricing on annual maintenance. The connection was bad but even though English is not her first language, it is clear that she said annual maintenance. In her second call to make the appointment, she again clearly said maintenance. I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt before posting a review, so I did more research. I looked at their website where it says they have been providing A/C service to the Clearwater area for over 27 years. One person in their testimonial section said that they worked with the company for over five years with great success. I then checked the Florida Business registry website and found that Pleasant AC filed as a business in 2016. Remember the phone rep said Brian worked for them years ago and recently came back. Hard to do if the company has been in business for two years. My review after the research I did of the company and Arlen Zell is that if Engish is not your first language or you are elderly or not knowledgable about Air Conditioning, beware of Internet reviews alone. Do more research. There are many scam A/C companies in Florida. Investigative news agencies have done pieces on them before. Ask your own questions, do your own research and try to get personal references from people you trust whenever possible. Very hard to do in our always internet connected but disconnected in the real world lifestyle these days. All the positive reviews for this company that according to their website has been in business in Clearwater for over 27 years were posted in the last year.
