I had a squirrel issue, so I called them out to help, then the tech looked around my back yard for several minutes and said (basically), "Yeah, this isn't squirrel activity. Squirrels don't burrow like that. This is rats." and then left after telling to me about baiting my backyard for rats. While the tech said there would be no charge I was subsequently sent a final notice for payment before I realized that wasn't the case at all. So, I guess $125 is their flat fee to straight-up lie to customers for easy money. The technician who came out told me multiple times my issue was NOT squirrels. After that other contract was over I found a pest control company the right way- I did an internet search and found a few candidates and read some reviews, and concluded that Aspen looked like the best prospect. Since then they've done a pest control service visit four times a year and I have had very little problem with any pests during that time. It's always hard to know for sure how much it's helping because you don't know how well it would be going if you didn't have the service, but it has been going well and I have always been very pleased with the professional and friendly attitude of the Aspen personnel.

We also inherited a well-established yellow jacket nest in our front yard. I called the number on the black boxes. That was our lucky day. I couldn't believe what a great service Pest Patrol was when I stumbled into it. For a reasonable quarterly fee, they check the boxes, and the yellow jacket nest. Not only that, but coming out and eradicating the yellow jackets was included. The man who came out carefully explained in great detail how he would take out the nest. Then he did the deed. Later I called Pest Patrol again because I saw some yellow jackets flying out of their nest. They came out again and didn't charge. This is a fabulous company. I called to ask for more information about their services and they answered all of my questions without any pressure to sign up. I appreciated that they explained in advance which products they would use and gave me a realistic timeline on how quickly we'd see results. Once I signed up, they were able to send someone within a few days. Their service technician Brad showed up right at the start of the 2 hour window and he was truly courteous and professional. He told us which products he was using and how they worked, and gave us a fact sheet as well as some pre-baited traps to use if we saw more ant activity inside the home. He also removed wasp nests and even filled a small hole in the crawlspace vent on the exterior of our house, which I feel was really going above and beyond. After the service was complete, I got an email with all of the details of what was applied and where, which I think is an excellent practice. It's only been a few weeks since the first treatment, but the number of ants inside our home went down pretty quickly and lately we haven't see any at all. I do understand we may see more as the ants move through their life cycle, but I'm really pleased with the results so far.
