I called to get a price for acrylics. When they said 40$ I agreed and made the appointment. Tina was very nice and efficient, but skipped my cuticles, and then charged me 46 " because I had the nails rounded" I've never heard of that , and felt taken advantage, I won't trust them again. read more

This place was pretty bad. I didnt even get my nails done there, i was just sitting around. The staff were talking Chinese and laughing while they were looking at me which was rude. There was no air conditioning the shop was almost 90+ degrees i was sweating so bad. Then their service was awful, they completely destroyed my girlfriends nails and rushed through the service. Then they charged extra for no reason claiming she had a manicure done when they actually just destroyed her nails. Dont come here. Please. read more

I came in today at 6 like they asked... And there were only two ladies working VERY understaff. Both really nice ladies only reason why I put two stars instead of one. What made this experience unpleasant they were rushing my nails, toes and eyebrows. Three other girls walked in around 630 and they close at 7. So the lady that was doing my nails started rushing to the point the shape of my nails do NOT match at all. She also cut me TWICE. The first time she did it I took it gracefully because accidents do happen.... But the second time NO WAY. And the fact this cut was deeper I was livid... I just became very serious with her. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless they want to be rushed, have uneven nails or be injured. Never coming back. read more

I went today I needed to get my nails done because I am starting a new job, I don't like paying a lot for my nails so it's great that a full set was $25. I called ahead of time just to make sure. The directions I had took me to the wrong place but then I found it on the actually main st in Ansonia. The impression I got there was it's a very small place and there not a lot of booths to get your nails done, including pedicures I think I saw 2 chairs. The manager was very nice and understanding about the issues with my nails since I'm a nail biter. They were gentle with what they had, I did get a couple nicks but I do have very fragile fingers do to that fact I bite. But they were able to give me nails, and told me the process of how the further steps go. I also felt very comfortable there. Everyone that walked in while I was there new each other and I felt like I could join into the conversations and no one had an issue. I wouldn't say this is place for special occasion nails but just for your everyday nails. read more

I'm not the type of woman that lives in a salon at least 1 day a week, but occasionally I like to tame my monstrous Italian eyebrows with a good wax job and from the time I first stopped here a few years back to the present, I have not been let down. The ladies are always very nice and chatty, but unfortunately I don't know any of their names. The eldest lady there, however, is the best and she's my absolute favorite. Every time I walk in and she sees me, she greets me cheerfully and is usually the one who tames my brows with acute, ninja-like precision. This may seem like an exaggeration, but I tend to have a low pain tolerance, and even I can barely tell when she plucks away the stray hairs that I swear feel like they're cemented into my flesh when I try to pluck them at home. I've brought friends there before, including one friend who's an even bigger baby when it comes to pain than I am (to be fair, she is a redhead and they tend to feel pain more intensely than other hair colors), and they were very good with her eyebrow and lip waxing. They counted to 3 per her request, and were understanding when I had to hold her hand through the whole ordeal. I've also had a couple manicures and even 1 pedicure done here and I was very pleased each of those times, especially since they lasted for quite a while and I'm usually the kind of oaf that chips every nail before the end of the day when I polish my nails. The thing that usually tips me off to the quality of a small salon is any sign of repeat customers. At Best Nails II, there's a few shelves that have nothing but individual files and polish colors for regular customers, which shows that they have quite a few loyal customers. I can definitely see why, since these ladies obviously know what they're doing and have created a happy, homey vibe to their nail salon. read more

They trash, the whole 3 staff shop can't do shit right; that's why they prices so low. Whether it's your nails or eyebrows they could never get your shit on point. They definitely fucked my eyebrows up more than once. Waste of time and money. I highly DONT recommend this place. read more

I've never been more comfortable at a nail salon like I did on my visit to Best Nails. When in for a pedicure and Ana was lovely, she engaged in conversation, made me laugh, showed interest in my personal life, ask for my name... I mean, Royal customer service. She also did a great job on my toes. I can't wait to go back. I would rate this place less than 1 star if I could. I came in a few days ago (based on their impressive reviews on Yelp) to have my nail extensions removed and have a gel manicure done in their place. Let me just begin with the deplorable hygiene of this establishment. The woman removing my nail extensions kept trying to use a combination of a filthy nail file and her own nails to dig underneath my nail extension and remove it. After multiple requests to just soak my nails so the process would be less painful and more hygienic, I was told by both nail techs present that this was "so much quicker" and that the pain I was experiencing was normal. If they hadn't already removed half of my extensions at this point I would have left... By the time they were done with my nails, my nail bed was completely torn up. I rinsed my hands in the sink and told them I wasn't going to be getting the gel manicure from them. (They have dozens of bottles of gel colors with no display for the colors anyhow... No way to see how the colors look on you) To add insult to injury, they charged me an extra 5 dollars from the listed price of 10 dollars for nail removal. They claimed I had a manicure done when I so obviously didn't. The most they did was clip my cuticles, roughly with questionable equipment. Do not be strayed by their positive reviews. This place is by far the most outdated and dirty nail salon I have ever been to. read more

This is by far one of the worst salons ever. I am not trying to bash at all, this is truly my honest opinion. I've been there multiple times for manicures, hoping that maybe that their handiwork would improve. But literally not even a whole day would pass by and my manicure would already be chipped. The polish isn't close to the cuticle, so after a couple of days it grows out and looks old. I also had my eyebrows waxed there, twice. As you can see, I really was trying to give this a second chance. The first time I got my eyebrows waxed there, I was very disappointed. My brows were uneven and not near the shape I had asked for. I doubt the lady had even really listened to me when I told her to keep them thick and just clean the edges.The second time I went to get my eyebrows waxed was a complete disaster. I had very well-grown, thick brows. That is exactly how I like them, I just wanted a little clean-up. That is what I told the lady there and I got the polar opposite of that. She trimmed my brows like she was on a cutting frenzy and she waxed off nearly all of my brows. I now look like I am an overplucker, no brows left whatsoever. It took me MONTHS to grow them the way they were. Waste of time, waste of money. I guess you get what you pay for. read more
