The service here was phenomenal, the store was clean and very easy to see while driving. The person helping us was very understanding of what we wanted, which was a new frame for a very special picture which was given to my father. The repair was expected to take days, however we got our frame in under 35 minutes, and the person who repaired it, who I can assume is the owner, even included a picture of the written letter on the back of the image which was now covered in a protective boarding. The quality of the frame and the shine on it was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I definitely will be coming back sometime again! Getting ready for a dinner party, I discovered at the last minute that a print had escaped the matting and dropped down two inches. Not a pretty sight. Meredith and another man came to the rescue while I waited. This is what is known as customer service and why I will come back again! I appreciated that they used the plastic coated hanging wire. I had my diploma and license framed here a few months back and I came here because I was told by the Doctor I work with that they do a very good quality job at a fair price. That is exactly what I experienced too. It was only after I was sitting in the shop that I consulted my Yelp oracle and to my surprise it said some not so great things. I told my friend this and he said they have some workers there that are not always the nicest and he also said that if you want it done in a hurry it doesn't always happen. I spoke with the owner and he was a very nice man. I talked to him about his country Thailand. I would totally go back to them again but I don't think I would trust a rush job to them if I had too knowing what I have heard.....but then again I am never in a rush for that sort of thing anyway. read more

This shop used to be in south Pasadena but the owner told me the rent increased a lot so now at this location. Its a bit inconspicuous so don't blink or you might drive past it on Valley. Easy street parking. I walked in and greeted immediately and wasn't pressured at all. Quick discussion about what I wanted framed and he was off grabbing samples from all different walls. The owner provided honest opinions and recommended against some of the frames I had picked out (good call on his part!). The turn-around was only a few days and cost were cheaper here than other places I shopped around at. So far my diploma has been hanging on the wall and I think it looks great! As a bonus, he included UV glass with the price, which was an add on feature ($) at other framing spots. There were about 3 other friendly ppl customers, who all seemed to have been long life patrons there. One gave him a signed copy of their book. One was explaining to me how they met in Thailand and have become great friends ever since. All this was done around the round table in the middle of the office, almost like a barber shop atmosphere.....just a nice local owned business with a great, reasonable priced service! read more

This used to be my "go-to" place for framing and had many pieces done here - that is before the previous owner retired and left CA. I did not have the best experience with the new owner. For any run of the mill framing, I believe they still can do a good job and the price is very reasonable. But if you want something special, with custom materials, etc., this is not the place. The new owner is too uptight and can't deal with special requests. read more

The price has always been excellent, and the work has always been superb. New location, new owner, and they now use plexiglass instead of glass, but quality and price remain unmatched. It would have been much more expensive somewhere else. Too bad Manas retired and moved back to Thailand in early 2017. He was the real gem. Armando not only answered all my questions, he gave me so many great ideas and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. so here it is: in a good day things can go as good as it gets. but in a bad day, i have no words to discribe it...???#@$%??? i've been using this frame shop for a very long time, about seven years or so. they went from south pasadena to alhambra - not the best of moves in my opinion. the owner, manas (from thiland), seems to be a very nice guy? but in all honesty, he could be rather cluless at times. he knows a lot about frames, so he says? but sometimes his overall knowledge about framing and fine works of art is very limited. his framing style can get very sloopy at times, his prices can sometimes be way off, and his time finishing a frame job can really drag, drang, and drag from time to time. still, he means well i suppose... there is another person in the frame shop that has been helping the owner off and on for a long while, his name is santiago - and he is the only reason why i keep going back. he is an exceptional talented and knoledgeble young man. he has a good eye and great sensitivity when it comes to fine works of art in general. he is an artist and he also does art restoration - specializing in archival materials. he has restored several paintings for me. he does great work! i have nothing but good things to say about him. he is there usually on the weekends! i say: go and give it a shot! it could potentially be one of the greatest experiances you have ever had in framing - as good as it gets...OR NOT!!! read more

Basically, VERY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. You can't know what to expect. He'll tell you something over the phone to get you in the store, then when you actually show up with all your heavy things he will tell you something else (give you a higher place and offer you to leave if you don't like it). Doesn't understand waste of time. He also makes a lot of errors with the framing (ex. which mat's on top, etc.) Beware and go at your own risk!!! -------------------------------- I was very disappointed with the bad service. This place is a hit or miss...first the guy (Vietnamese "Manas") is nice, gave an average price (I know cause I called several places and had an idea what to expect), so I got my 6 pieces framed there mostly cause he was closest. On these, he quoted me When I was paying so it was no problem. But one picture didn't turn out well so I call him the day after I pick it up and asked if he'll change the mat. He quotes several prices/options, which are high, and I say what if I buy the mats (supplies) and you just put it in the frame? He says fine and quotes me a price for labor. Obviously I made clear which piece it was and he totally knew what I was talking about (he described it to me well over the phone). I then waste a lot of time shopping around for mats, even though I know he can get it cheaper (he quoted me $50 for changing the mats with him buying them even though a mat costs $6 at Blicks..so think how much cheaper he can get them as a bulk buyer). This one art work is huge and heavy, like 25x20" and I hate lugging it around. So here's where the problems start: 1) A few days later, I call him again and tell him, "you said if I bought the mats and bring them, you'd charge x for labor, so I'm coming by" (I intentionally remention his quote). He says yea, ok, see you. I show up 10minutes later at his shop and all the doors are closed. What the heck? Closed at 2pm??? I stand there with my large work knocking on the door. then I call the place and I can hear phone ringing inside. Then I hear his cell phone which was odd. There are also tons of new delivered frames out by the back door, which was odd too (who'd leave their product out by the door in the open and lock up?) Anyway, no one opens the door. Weird. I figure he either doesn't feel like taking the small fix-up job or had a major emergency and had to leave fast and forget his phone even. 2) Next day I come by without calling first. He's there. He talks a bit and then when I'm about to pay he says "so I told you how much right? 2x?". I say, "wait, but I spoke with you twice and said x both times, even yesterday!" Then he goes off saying I misunderstood, then he says he misunderstood, then he says his "english is bad" so miscommunication happens sometimes, then he says that price was the price he gave was for something else. Anyway, he gives lots of reasons which don't go together, which is just annoying (btw. earlier he had told me whenever people call him, telemarketers etc., who he doesn't want to talk to, he tells them "my english is bad." So hearing him tell me that was super frustrating.) I tell him I'll pay you 2x, I just don't like you changing your numbers around like this. I told him why didn't you just give your price form the beginning? He gets frustrated because I didn't accept his "apology" as he called it and says go somewhere else. Which was double frustrating cause it was the 2nd time I got out of work early to get to his place and I hate lugging around this large heavy art work, plus we had already squared things away over the phone. I tell him I agreed to pay 2x, but then he just gives me the "silent treatment." It was the wierdest most unprofessional thing I had ever experienced. I think he had taken the original big chunk of money and didn't want this small fix it job- why he was wasting my time with the lack of professionalism, I don't know!!! Also, upon my asking, he said that the day before "he was working by himself and had to suddenly leave to pick up some items, and so had to lock up." So weird considering I had called before coming to say I was on my way...he could've called me back (has my number from my order form), or at least leave a message on the door or anything. Not even a "will be back at so-and-so time." Basically, VERY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Buyer beware! There are a ton of other shops, so save yourself some headaches! PS.
