Bookguy told me I needed an appointment to talk to a salesperson but I didn't believe him! I was so wrong! Not one person asked me if I needed help or direction. I might as well have been in the store alone. I looked online before I arrived so I had an idea of what was available. Unfortunately, three of the items I saw online weren't on the sales floor and there was no one to ask. This happened in two different areas. I gave up and left. Bought a dust buster 12/24/25. The battery runs out after 7 minutes when fully charged. Tried Best Buy AI Chat - they had never heard of a dust buster. Called BB 800#. Asked them if they could exchange it. Said Yes and I made sure my appt was at East store. Get there and it is at West store. Clerk tells me that "Call Center is awful they always do this". Then says she has no options. Manager Austin comes over and explains that it was 2 months and 2 weeks and I have to call manufacturer. I explain that the call center said I could bring it in and that I had already spent hours on this. Austin DIDN"T CARE. Smug and "this is policy". Even though BB made the mistake and wasted my time. But the solution offered by Adam? Buy a $50 membership, do the exchange, then cancel it tomorrow to get the $50 back. So instead of helping a long-time loyal customer with a reasonable request, the "fix" was to jump through loopholes? That's not service -- that's nonsense. A courtesy exchange would've built loyalty. We ordered an Apple iPhone listed as "refurbished excellent." It came with a bad battery. Severely compromised battery, it said when first turned on to set up. We made an appt. with Best Buy East and arrived on time at 11:20am, after driving 30 min. (and my grandson whose phone it is drove 40 min.) only to be told that their tech called in sick and they wouldn't have anyone til 1:00 pm. I asked if we came back at 1:00pm would we be first since this happened. The employee, who was very rude, said no, we'd have to wait in line. I asked him again to confirm that, and he said we'd have to take our chances and wait, again being very rude. I filed a complaint and set up an appt. with a different store. Gia helped us with a new phone for my elderly dad. She was very patient, and explained things in a way he could understand. She activated the new phone for my dad, and transferred all of the data for him as well. This is a nice Best Buy, with an easy lay-out. The mobile phone department is near the front and has a separate counter. Parking is very accessible without requiring a long walk to get in the store. read more

We called the National # for the Geek Squad thru Best Buy and made an appointment. On 9/11/23 they sent out Kyle Monismith. He arrived at my dad's at 11 and stayed until 12. During that time, he downloaded 2 apps that would allow him to access dad's computer remotely w/o him knowing. He then hacked into my Dad's email, Netflix, and Facebook accounts and changed all the passwords. When I called Best Buy's Corporate # I was routed to a call center in India. I explained the situation and he put me on hold 3 times to ask a supervisor what he needed to do. He came back and told me to file a police report. He didn't want ANY information or documentation on what Kyle had done. I filed reports with the Attorney General's office, Omaha Police Department, FBI, Elder Abuse of Omaha, froze dad's credit at the 3 credit bureaus, closed Netflix, and closed all his bank accounts, Verizon, and Cox. I absolutely cannot believe they don't care about this situation. You can not believe the amount of time and stress it has put on my family to fix all these things. Kyle has worked at the Geek Squad for 7 yrs so I know my dad isn't the only one. I will be glad to talk to anyone from Best Buy about this situation. The local Geek Squad Supervisor pawned me off to someone else. My parents have had an account with Best Buy for the past 10 YEARS! One of my favorite things about this Best Buy lately has been the curbside to go, easy and well done. I love the sale prices they have especially around Black Fridays. I have not always been happy with all of their services though - I had bought a phone there in the past and turned out I was double charged for the insurance - I was paying Best Buys and the phone companies - I have learned to ask better questions. Recently I stopped to look at phones and hard drives - and wanted to check a couple of things out. I was questioned as I was entering and told where the two areas were - I actually know the store lay out pretty well and was annoyed by this, I get Covid restrictions - but 3 other people walked in by me and did not have to lay out where in the store they were planning to go. I found a great deal which excited me on the hard drives, but when I met with the phone people to consider upgrading I was even more disappointed - the guy who was sent to help me acted completed uninterested in working with me and made no real efforts. After I said I wanted him to check on trade in offers, I even feel like I had to repeat that yes I wanted him to do this, there was no rush or enthusiasm in looking for this. I was actually glad that he couldn't find any so I could go somewhere else. read more

The Geek Squad/Best Buy sent out a technician to fix my dad's computer . On 9/11/23, Kyle came to my dad's apartment and downloaded AnyDesk, an application that allowed him to use his IP Address to gain access to his computer from some other location! I don't know how someone could do that to an 84 year old man. We are still trying to clean up the destruction he caused. I talked to someone at the Corporate Office, who absolutely did nothing or cared. They told me to file a report with the Omaha Police Dept. I filed reports with OPS, FTC, FBI, and the Attorney Genera. I would definitely beware and avoid them at all cost until they at least care enough to investigate and who they are sending out to peoples homes. read more

I purchased a washer and dryer. They brought it out on a Saturday. The dryer was completely busted. I didn't even take it off the truck or the delivery people. I have called twice and been to the store twice to try to get my full refund back that I had already paid on my credit card, they did not give me the full amount back. They sold me a warranty, but when the TV needed repair, their in home service person was a no show, "Best" Buy call center disconnected twice after 20 minutes of being on hold. I went in to the Omaha store at 76th & Dodge and store manager Daniel Hoyt said he would send a repair person out on Monday and no only did they not show up, they did not contact me saying they would not be there. Very poor customer service. I took the 70" tv down and put it back in the box it came in and took it back to the store and night manage? Kyle would not return it, would not let me talk to Daniel Hoyt, and threatened to call the police on me. Great customer service "Best" Buy. Trying to write a review on Best Buy in whole but only chooses stores. So, bought 2 cell phones and there was a promotion for a $100 e gift card after activation. After 2 weeks of calls and a store visit who made the same call I did DENIED there was ever such a promotion! Wish I would have taken a picture of the promo but didn't. I have to admit, that while the radio I got was a big huge piece of crap (not Best Buy's fault). They made returning the radio and having a new one out seamless. I have to admit, while I am an avid online shopper, there are just some things I will not buy online. Like TVs, car audio, my iWatch, microwaves and gaming systems. Let me rant for a moment: The BEST BUY off 76th and Dodge is one of the most beautiful and clean stores, but the customer service is horrible. There is about 4 employees to every 1 costumer, but they all stand around talking. This past Saturday, someone was super rude and I'm positive it's because he had to leave his chat about League of Legends to do his job. He literally would barely acknowledge my existence. He would just point and give me one word answers. I literally didn't even know the transaction was over because he was paying absolutely no attention to my transaction. Geek squad was terrific today. Trouble-shooted for the Sonos amplifier system I have in the house and discovered a factory reset and re-program was needed to jump start the home speakers. I remember when this store took over the old Children's Palace toy store 20+ years ago. Everyone was super excited that Omaha finally had a Best Buy. We were really turning into a big city. People were traveling from as far away as Grand Island just to check this amazing new store out. It sold TVs, tapes, CDs, computers, software, video games -- this was THE place to go to get the latest tech goods. Then the internet happened. Best Buy and similar big box retailers became more of a showroom for customers to check out the goods in person, who would later go home and purchase them for cheaper from Amazon or another online retailer. Then people stopped buying physical media in general. Why buy the new Pearl Jam album on CD when you can download or stream it online for a fraction of the cost (or free)? Same thing goes for movies, games and software. Now Best Buy is a ghost town -- like a giant awkward version of Radio Shack. You don't go here for big purchases anymore, just to find the cheapest HDMI cord possible. I ended up here for one of the few things Best Buy still offers that I didn't want to mess with ordering online -- a car stereo. Yes, my XM radio (remember that) ready Alpine CD player was shot, so I needed to upgrade. I ended up with a 50 watt Pioneer with a much-need auxiliary input. Not a bad deal for $60. Now the real fun will be when I try to install it myself, because Best Buy still charge $65+ for an install. read more

What I was impressed about on our most recent visit (buying last minute grad gift-some beats headphones), is that the security guy at the entrance said that they were dog friendly and I could bring Henri in. I use to absolutely love BestBuy when it first came to Omaha . Store was packed full of electronics and the prices were reasonable . I remember very long lines on Blackfriday with amazing deals . Walking into the one on Dodge street recently was a shocker , only a handful of their shippers were there and it was so quiet . They have ton of space to walk around as the store definitely doesn't have as much product as it once did . Cellphones area taking up a huge amount of space . They seem to have a small selective amount of items , we went to look at cameras and camcorders , with just a few each on display it was a disappointment. The prices we noticed were slightly higher then other stores but not too bad . Every few minutes a store employee asked if we needed help which was nice but maybe a tad annoying after a while , I am sure they didn't know we were already asked as it was different employees each tine , shows you hoe slow they were as if the store was busy they would of been with diff customers . Bought a product during holiday season, lady told me that the return policy was that things could be returned up until the 31st. I show up before then and they tell me that it's actually the sixteenth. Employees didn't even try to offer a fix, said nothing could be done (as if they can't override things to accommodate a customer who was wronged due to THEIR shortcomings), and obviously they are not training their employees correctly. How hard is it to remind your workers of the correct return deadline especially during the HOLIDAYS? The worst part is I ABSOLUTELY know they can accommodate, but they seem to not care about people needing their money during a pandemic. I really do try not to review large chain stores, unless there is something more revolting than normal about them. I give Best Buy two stars - one star because they have a decent selection of TVs and another star because I am occasionally able to find CDs or software here that I am unable to locate at other stores. Otherwise, I avoid it like the plague because of the employees. Having worked in retail myself, I know what an absolute shit show working in a place like Best Buy can be. I think the job requirements for working here must be a combination of as little product knowledge as possible with a healthy amount of hubris. One of the last 'Big Box' stores left in town. Sure, there is NFM, but I get lost in there with all the blinking lights and stuff. I usually look online for what I want and if I don't need it immediately I can wait for shipping. Best Buy is heading down the path of RadioShack. By that, I mean they are trying to diversify and have so much more than they can know about. Does the kid who knows about cell phones have the same knowledge on appliances? Why is he over here then? My Macbook Pro, Larry, (yes I named it,) was dying and his homeland, Apple was a slight pain to deal with via phone to set up an appointment for a local store. After bouncing around from out-of-state person to out-of-state person in Apple's game of phone ping-pong, I called Best Buy and was told to simply bring my Macbook Pro in. Simple. I rushed Larry to Best Buy and they attempted to save him. He died on the table... BUT everyone needs to know the name Eugene. He is in the Geek Squad and is super awesome. He worked in between his clients, trying to revive Larry. Eugene understood how frustrating it is when we lose a laptop companion. Several employees in the Geek Squad tried to save Larry, it was simply his time to go. Eugene went above and beyond attempting to fix Larry. Incredible service. I love Apple products, (even though it is difficult to get answers from the company at times.) I sniffed around Best Buy for a week or two, scoping out PC and Mac options. I opted for another Mac and the staff I bumped into throughout the store was extremely helpful and great to approach. William, Josh and Chris on the floor were awesome and I believe Sandra, (was that her name? I hope so!) in the Geek Squad Customer Service counter, was knowledgeable and helpful as well. I'm not sure who these other reviews are speaking of because I am a retail manager and would high-five anyone I met in this store. Super friendly, eager to answer questions and show you products. Several managers were also awesome and stepped up when needed after staff called upon them. This location is great and it's super easy to find someone when you need help. Even the front door security was helpful with clients. I wish the Council Bluffs location carried more Apple products but until then, I am happy to travel to this Omaha store. Super great guys, super helpful, I go here for my bigger needs such as buying a PC, but back in 2017, I was unable to get my PC Monitor repaired, the geek squad said they were unable to fix it, I had bought it back when the Council Bluffs Best Buy was open, it was not the monitor I wanted but after awhile, I ended loving it! When and if I buy a PC, I'm gonna buy the same monitor again! I may have got the wrong item at first then it ended up turning out to be better than I expected! :) read more

Shoppers beware! They ruined my car and do not care! They have now caused over $5,000 worth of damages to my car that they are clearly at fault over and they have responded by being unacceptable and unprofessional. I brought in my new car with less than 200 miles on it to have them place a remote starter in it. I was ASSURED that they would have a trained professional installing the remote starter. Here I am to find out that when they placed it they cut into MULTIPLE wires they hade no business cutting into causing my car to not only have significant wiring problems, but for some of the wires to start melting and catch ON FIRE while I was driving it??? And their response is to simply forward me to their insurance claims who are now refusing to return my emails and calls. All the while my car sits in the shop having all of the wiring that THEY very clearly ruined getting replaced on my new car. I am now on week THREE of not having my car with a bill escalating to over $5,000 and Best Buy is refusing to return my calls. Unacceptable. read more

An associate helped me find what I needed since not being very tech savvy at all, I wasn't sure what I wanted/needed. He explained things to me and once I chose what I wanted there was no line for the checkout and we got out in no time. My only issue with this store is I'm not crazy about their parking lot. Avoid the car team. I was nearly stranded multiple times after they wrecked my cars electronics. A year ago I got a seemingly great deal on a remote starter with installation for my dear Ralph (the car). There were issues with the initial install, and I had to take it back to the original best buy and other shops to get my cruise control working again. The remote starter recently stopped working, so I made an appointment here. The installer seemed disinterested and apathetic, but tinkered for a bit and said things were working again. He was not pleased when I returned and explained that I had lost my cruise control again. Apparently not trusting my report that it happened before, and was directly related to the remote starter, he came back and said he had changed five other unrelated things instead of going to the source, but it still wasn't working (shocking). I was frustrated that he would tinker with random unrelated things, but only cared that he got there in the end. He got back to work and when I left I had cruise control again. The first break down was less than 2 hrs into my 3,000 mile road trip. Ralph was having what I can only describe as electrical seizures as I drove. Dash lights would flash, locks would pop, and the timing of the spastics was erratic and concerning. A mechanic in Des Moines listened to my priorities and history, and they just pulled the fuses to the remote starter. Perfect! On the road again. Second breakdown was 2 hours from New Orleans at 6 pm on a Sunday night. No mechanics open. Spent the night in a dank motel instead of the one we were also paying for on Bourbon St. The mechanic discovered two exposed wires that were low and dangling. He suspected they touched and reset my security system. Missed the half-day we intended to spend in the Big Easy. I am furious with the careless work from Best Buy that cost me time and money when I couldn't afford it. I'll now need to spend more to take it to a proper shop with a sense of work ethic and customer service to get it properly fixed (and get my remote starter working again). Regret ever coming here. Purchased a gift that I needed to return. Employee at customer service examined the receipt, took the item out of the box and looked at all the components, put them back in the box and declared, sorry this doesn't meet our return policy. I purchased the item on 8/29 and it was 9/14 - so I missed by a couple days. Who would even think a return period would be 15 days?!? The guy was unwilling to be flexible. Why on earth did he even examine the contents if it was already evident he wouldn't accept the return? I was super skeptical to even purchase this gift at Best Buy because I haven't shopped there in years and it is a generally unpleasant experience.
