This Best Buy is located in The Avenue in Murfreesboro and was easily one of the most surprising Best Buy experiences I have had in years, and in a good way. The store is large, and has the essence, decor, set up and overall vibe of Best Buy's of the past. It was cool to see a store with a full service footprint still operating and doing quite well. The store was busy, and everyone was being assisted. I popped in for an online order pick up, but before I stopped by the counter to pick up my order, I made a lap through the store and during that time was spoken to by three different Associates asking if I needed help of any kind. It was a pleasant surprise. In addition to being helped on the floor, when I was checking out and the line began to build, multiple Associates rushed to assist. Again, seems basic, and it is...but it was so refreshing to see in action. My ordering experience was easy and while I waited a few moments at the pick up counter, pick up was easy too. The service was okay -- informative and helpful overall. However, I was originally told the turnaround time would be two weeks, but it ended up taking three. Clearer communication on the timeframe would have been greatly appreciated. Additionally, when I submitted my camera, it had the protective cap on it. When I received it back after three weeks, the cap was missing. I reported this, but it has been over a week with no update. Unfortunately, it seems my cap is gone. They said it was store policy so no one would accuse them if anything was wrong. What happened to ordering a battery and then installing it as scheduled? It would seem wise to check the phone prior to instillation and if anything is wrong simply hand the phone back to the customer. We are regular customers of electronics at Best Buy. TV's, Apple products, gaming equipment, you name it. We have a Best Buy card and are able to use it for purchases and pay it off later, if needed. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the store is big and clean, and there is plenty of parking. I also like that it's on the outside of The Avenue, so we don't have to deal with much mall traffic when we're just shopping here. The only complaint that I have is that some products they don't carry in-store, only online. I'm the type of person who would rather see it and test it out before just buying it online and trusting reviews. read more

This place is a joke. Rescheduled delivery for my drier multiple times, I was unable to do my laundry for almost 3 weeks. When I finally canceled the order, they informed me that since I paid cash, I would have to wait 15 days to get a check in the mail. They installed our TV totally wrong and then the pandemic hits and we can't get them out to honor our warranty agreement. Now we get an email telling us our warranty agreement is going to renew. We have to call them to cancel the renewal and ask for 4 months added to our contract because we paid for it, but they were not doing work. They refuse to give us an extension. They refuse to send us an email confirming the cancellation of our warranty renewal, but they sent an email telling us our warranty would renew. This company is really bad. I ordered things online and had the option of having them shipped or picked up at this store the following day. Because their website advertised all items being in stock at this location at 11 pm yesterday (and other locations all of which were a 30 minute drive or more one way) I opted to pick up vs ship. I need them for work. Terrible experience. I arrived and the item I needed most was not there. I can't use one of the items until I have the item not in stock. I will now have to make a second trip on Friday, when had I known I could have ordered elsewhere or simply had the items shipped if time wasn't of the essence here. While at the store I found another comparable item priced exactly the same as the item I purchased online. The manager wouldn't swap them despite Best Buy falsely advertising the item I purchased as being available in Mt Juliet and Murfreesboro. The store manager informed me that the Best Buy website will say that items are available until you pay and then it sends an email to tell you what is really available and the date you can get it. The problem with that is, people like me are ordering because it says available. To take peoples money or put holds on peoples cards after advertising that something is available when it isn't, is fraudulent. The best thing that manager and company could have done is swap out the LG for the dell that wasn't in stock. It was their fault, not mine. This is false advertising. Very shady. 2 months before my cross-country move I purchased a refrigerator, washer, and dryer from this store. What I was actually getting was a headache. The delivery was deferred until my move. Day of delivery I need my new appliances! I get a call from the delivery guy that he's coming with my refrigerator. "And my washer and dryer right?" I ask. "No, I show you bought a refrigerator and a dryer, but the dryer didn't come to our warehouse," he explains. "I bought these items 2 months ago. How can that be?" I ask. "It will probably come in the next few days and we will schedule another delivery," is the answer. Like I have all the time in the world?! So I call BestBuy and can ONLY get the insanely apathetic Call Center Rep. I ask for a store manager or a Call Center Manager -- she tells me "You have to go into the store to discuss a complaint." I moved to a small town. The store is 20 miles each way. So back to the washing machine- she tells me it was recalled a month ago. NO ONE made me aware. Oh, but they also didn't refund my money. The "couldn't care less" call center rep tells me I should just get both washer and dryer refunded and buy a new matching set. I said, "How about you just exchange my set for the next set up since this transaction is so messed up?" She said, "No, we don't do that.". She couldn't have cared less. This I one of the worst reviews I never thought I would ever write. I would not ever buy or recommend anyone to buy anything from Best Buy due to the Geek Squad Program. As a professional I can't depend on this kind of service. I brought my camera for Service on an accidental damage (covered by the protection plan) and it has been more than a month and no one has called me to let me know of the status of the repair. I have called every week to find out and still no straight answer where my camera is or the status of the repair, I even came to the store (30 min drive) and asked about it, they gave me a number to call directly to them for updates but that extension does not work. I have missed 2 weddings (I had to rent a camera) and a Sweet 16 party. Thats why im staying with Amazon for ALL my future electronics purchases, their insurance company is far better, all you have to do is register your product, and when submitting a claim its so easy and fast, no questions asked. We purchased an Insignia refrigerator May 2020. The freezer stopped freezing. It is still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I contacted Insignia. We went through the troubleshooting process. They decided that a technician needed to come look at the appliance. When they confirmed my address, I was told that due to the pandemic, there was not a technician in my area. I was given a number to call. It was a Best Buy number. I have called every department I was instructed to by the Insignia tech support. I have provided all product and contact information needed. I have spent hours waiting on hold and being transferred around to either be hung up on, or told to contact Insignia. When I contact Insignia again to let them know, they just give me the same Best Buy number to call and the process starts over again. We came in with the intention of purchasing 2 new Samsung Galaxy phones. My husband and I were waited on promptly by Zack. We ask if we could have a moment to discuss between the galaxy S10+ and the note to which he agreed letting us know that he would come back by to check on us. We had stepped to the side as not to block anyone else. There were about 5 to 7 people in the best buy blue shirts standing at the computer/register area as one employee yelled out whoooooo extremely loud to the level that everyone within a twenty foot radius turned to stare. We were approximately 8 feet away to the side where the TVs and stereos were located. Some of the male employees that were standing there began to laugh. My son has asperger's syndrome with anxiety and loud sudden noises are an issue for him. We avoid areas that we feel those situations may arise. So I'm not thinking Best Buy is somewhere I need to worry about that happening. I walked over to the young man (Ryan H.) and tried explaining the situation with my son who my husband was taking out of the store. Ryan preceded to explain to me that they were having a great day. In a nonchalant expression he told me that is just something they do sometimes. Furthermore, we were in a public place and loud noises just happen sometimes. I would expect loud bursts of noises if I were at a stadium or somewhere juveniles were being rowdy but not at a retail establishment. I was done with the conversation and walked off. The young man checking receipts at the door said I hope you have a good day to my husband who responded with it was until that jackass. The young man ask what happen. 2 sentences in Ryan H. joins us & begins to interrupt with his statements of it being a public place and so on. He also let's me know that if I was looking for a manager that he was it. When I questioned him about being the actual store manager he said Rick was his manager and I could call him. I tried to explain to him he should know better than to behave that way if he was the manager on duty to which he interrupted me again with his speech & telling me he apologizes what else did I want him to do and how I was berating him. I told him this is a child and he should be aware of how he could impact others with his outbursts. He then told us to get out of his store that we had no class as he stepped toward me. My wife stood in line for the release of a new game system. Before the system was handed out, a woman jumped line and caused a scene with the others in line. The police even came out. The police said they would let Best Buy take care of it. BB decided that they'd just as soon avoid conflict and gave the line-jumper a ticket before those who had been patiently waiting. After that, the man in line with the line-jumper cursed my wife and the other women in line and Best Buy stood idly by. I attempted to call and complain about my wife's treatment, but even after 10AM the phone system said I'd called outside of normal working hours. This is no way to treat loyal customers. We just bought a whole new appliance package for our kitchen from you. On a different note... the appliances we ordered came all separately. We first received our microwave, but when we opened it, it was badly damaged. We called the store and the employee said we'd have to bring it back for a refund. We had to fight for a new appliance because we wanted a matching microwave at the same savings we'd purchased the first one. We ended up getting the microwave, but we had to come back to pick it up. Wow I really dislike the Geek squad here! It is located in the Best Buy on Medical Center in Murfreesboro. I did an insurance claim yesterday on my cell phone and was there for 2.5 hours. My appointment started at 12:40, I showed up at 12:35 and was charged 100 dollars in the first 20 mins. I was then left to sit and wait while the new phone was set up. Zach is the manager in the Geek Squad and was the one responsible for getting my service done. He then proceeded to help everyone else who came in and let me sit there. At one point my phone had stopped loading and I was left to sit for 40 minutes without being checked on... meanwhile he was out checking out a friends motorcycle in the parking lot. I than became frustrated, Zach than went on his lunch break. I understand these things take time but they need to watch what is going on. Two of the other workers there started to help me because they felt bad I was there so long. Meanwhile Zach kept making rude comments. I will drive to the Apple store 30 minutes away before ever going back to them again. I'm not sure why this person is managing and can't even do his job let alone be nice. This review explains why I only give Best Buy a 1-star rating and why I believe they have very poor customer service. Hopefully adding this initial tagline will get this review out of the filter bin and up on the page, so that others can hear about a first hand experience in Best Buy. I went to Best Buy to get a monitor. I purchase very few things in stores anymore and I wanted to make sure that I could get a monitor somewhere here in town, so that if there was a problem I could simply take it back. What a fiasco. I went back and spent some time checking out monitors. I looked at them and checked some specs and price tags and eventually decided which one I wanted. Noone had come to help me or ask if I needed anything, but I assumed that they would. I saw employees talking to each other or wandering about. After about 20 minutes of waiting I decided to go and see if I could find some help. I begin to walk over to two employees who were putting together a display over in the speaker area of the store. Just setting some things up, not undertaking a huge project. As I walk towards them, they notice me and one taps the other, they both stop and then walk off. Sweet. I walk back over to the monitors and kind of look around and hope that someone pays attention. After about 10 minutes of continuing to stand and wait and about 45 minutes of being in the store and getting no help... I call. Yes, I take out my phone and I actually CALL Best Buy. I get someone on the phone and explain that I am actually standing in the back of the store and I am waiting to be helped. I would love to buy this 300 dollar monitor, but couldn't get someone back to answer a question or two and grab me one from the back. It takes another couple of minutes, but someone comes out from the office area of the store, presumably a management type, and comes to where I am. They can't answer two very simple questions and instead make me wait another 5 minutes while they find someone who can, which is noone. One of the questions was: Does the monitor come with a DVI connector cable. The other was: Do you have any in the back, I only see one up here and the box is in terrible condition. Eventually they locate one in storage, but the box does not say if it has a DVI cable, so I buy one. I get the monitor to the front and that's it. No discount, no actually apology. Nothing. The monitor did come with a cable, so I took the other one back and returned it. I hope to NEVER, EVER have to go back to Best Buy again. Unhelpful and and marginally knowledgeable staff. I'd give it 0-stars if I could. *It seems that Yelp has decided to Filter my post. Seeing as there are only two posts, I'm not sure why mine would be filter with a 1-star review, while the other review that is 5-star wouldn't be. Oh well, that is just how stuff works, I guess. I think that the reason for the four stars definitely has more to do with it being a Best Buy and my obsession with technology products than the fact that it has great customer service. I have to say that it seems to be typical of any Best Buy in the United States to have crappy customer service. At one point my husband went to the one in Louisiana and waited for an hour knowing which computer he wanted, asked two or three different people to help, and finally walked out without buying the computer. This Best Buy isn't different. We went in to buy wireless network adapters for our desktop computers. We walked straight in, were not greeted by the "joe cool" guy at the entrance, which I totally agree with. We might as well have been invisible. We walked straight back to the technology department, which is all the way in the back of the store. Must have passed at least five different employees just walking around sulking. Didn't hear a word from any of them. Got back to the computer area and basically just scoured the shelves for about ten minutes until we found what we were looking for. Walked up to the front, stood in line, checked out. It was a mediocre experience with absolutely zero interaction from employees at Best Buy. We could've been mute and this shopping experience would've been exactly the same. BUT, I still love Best Buy and we got what we needed....and yes, I'll go back.
