I had a very disappointing experience. When I approached the register, I received no greeting and was immediately asked, "What do you need?" in an unfriendly manner. I was then charged incorrectly. When I explained that the transaction was not what I requested, the employee became defensive and insisted that I had asked for it. He attempted to correct the issue and had me pay again, claiming the payment was not going through even though the funds were being deducted from my bank account. After realizing the mistake, he told me there was nothing he could do and told me to leave the store. Another employee who was not involved in the situation then approached me and said he would escort me out with a smirk on his face saying "you're real cool buddy" Overall, the customer service was extremely unprofessional, and I would appreciate management looking into this situation. I thought I was being pranked dude. This is wild. read more

I'll never forget the employee that was so rude to me here. I have the best buy membership to extend my returns but Andy, I think she was being racist honestly. No one got the treatment that I did. I hope she get fired. Just hovered over my items for like 30 minutes. Like she was trying to catch me doing something wrong. It was very uncomfortable. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. my husband and I went in to buy a monitor. not a single person came up to us asked us if we needed help. we found the one we wanted and as we were looking for an associate they would all respond with "we'll get someone for you" this happened 4-5 times. We've waited for over 1.5 hours and still didn't receive any help. we ultimately decided to leave. very disappointing:( read more

Friendly service, super informative and super helpful. Very accommodating and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This one goes out to Alfred in the installation bay. Long story short, thought I blew my head unit but Alfred tested it and all good. He had a new wire harness installed and good as new. Saved me money and time. Alfred was very friendly and professional. I came all the way out from Temecula just so Alfred could get the job done. Keep up the great work! read more

I came to this Best Buy location in Montclair to assist a friend with buying a refrigerator. It was Memorial Day and the store was busy. We were assisted by C-Lo aka Carlos and by the Manager, Richard. Both of these gentlemen were very helpful, courteous and professional. We found the unit that we wanted and made the purchase. The refrigerator was delivered promptly and professionally. It's experiences like this, that help me stay loyal to Best Buy. read more

Honestly almost everything is over priced for the conditions of the appliances..... Been looking for a new fridge and found it at the Lowe's outlet in Monrovia, shoutout to Lowe's! At this Best Buy location you pay more than what Lowe's outlet offers that's for sure. I did a comparison of models at each store from what I could find. There was nothing here that said it's a deal really. Nothing that says take me home! Better off buying new appliances at that point. I think the worst thing about it is you can't reach people in the store. Can get a little frustrating when trying to call for updates or check inventory. I tried calling prior and kept being rerouted to a different country. Plus when I went I spoke to a sales rep left my number in case they receive what I'm looking for and it's been weeks with no calls. Doesn't seem like anyone wants a sale. So anyways goodluck to those who attempt to find something here. Maybe it wasn't the right timing for me, but in my eyes total waste of time driving out! read more

I'd like to commend Chris, the mgr and Riley, the salesperson who had the patience and excellence in customer service to answer questions with my daughter on a call to help me decide between a computer desktop vs laptop. Stopped by here to pick-up a jump drive. When I walked up there was a line around the building, apparently for the new Nintendo switch. I walked in and wasn't greeted by anyone. All I can say is every store or location has it's problems or issues, but when you have a manager like Frankie helping you out and making sure your concerns are heard and tries to help you out as best in her ability then you know you are in the right place. I'm giving one star to the customer service phone line because it's next to impossible to get real answers. The reps give vague, generic responses, and there's no way to reach the actual store. They can't transfer your call, and they can't help because they're working remotely. Zero stars for the general manager. He was unhelpful and dismissive during the midnight game launch. I didn't ask if the item was in stock; I asked if I could buy it if I was in line, and he gave me a bogus answer. He wouldn't even say when they'd start handing out tickets--just kept repeating "in a little while." We ended up in the wrong line because of his unclear instructions. Cody, however, deserves five stars. He was super helpful and took the time to find answers from the actual list of items. He wasn't rude or dismissive; he made sure we knew where to go. The staff working the Nintendo launch also get five stars. They had great attitudes, were helpful, and worked hard to keep the line moving smoothly. There was even a dedicated person answering questions, which was a big help (even if he should have been out there sooner). Their professionalism made up for a lot of the confusion. Overall, I'd give the phone line and the GM's in-store support zero stars, but five stars to Cody and the launch event staff who went above and beyond to help us. Phone customer service: 1 star General Manager: 0 stars Cody: 5 stars Nintendo launch staff: 5 stars If you average them out: (1 + 0 + 5 + 5) ÷ 4 = 2.75 stars Rounded to a standard star rating, that's about 3 stars overall. I wish these associates had a better boss. Sorry guys! read more

11/19/23 Took my cousin to help us with getting our fridge & washer/dryer. This location is convenient because it's the closest to our new place. My cousin used to work at this particular store, too. We've gone to Home Depot, Lowe's & Costco to shop around for appliances. To date, we've bought appliances from Best Buy in the past & have had positive experiences so far. Hubby & I have somewhat of an idea which brands/models at least & waited a bit of time to take advantage of what is on sale. Luckily, we have the Black Friday deals going for us. Since my cousin used to work for this company, we have a bit of an edge to select which types of brand would be the best choices. The employee who helped us out was Nate. He was on the ball & he was quick to offer assistance when we inquired about what we're looking for. We chose Whirlpool for all 3 (fridge, washer, dryer). The best pricing was to bundle these, no interest financing for 2 years and receive a $250 gift card. Nate made it easy & I must say, this was surprisingly simple. I had expected it to be a long & painful process! The bonus, delivery & set up will be this Friday (day after Thanksgiving) & I couldn't be happier. 11/24/23 The day before (Thanksgiving) we received a text for the approximate time of delivery for today-between 7-12 am. This morning at 7:15, I received a cdd ad ll from Jose that they're arriving in 30 minutes. I started with a 4 star for this review but now tying everything together from browsing & the assistance from Nate & now the delivery, they've earned a 5 star rating overall. Happy with the service, product, delivery & installation. All of THIS is stressful enough, so Best Buy made it easier & less of a burden. Highly recommend them for purchasing & having the appliances delivered. Thank you very much! read more

‼Rude and Unhelpful Geek Squad Manager‼ I came in for a scheduled iPhone glass replacement through Apple. The Geek Squad manager, Natalie, immediately had an attitude. She told me I had to wait an hour in the store because of a "stolen device" timer--something no one mentioned before my appointment. When I fixed it in my car in two minutes and came back, she looked at me and walked away. When she finally resumed helping me, she claimed there was a system error and told me to call customer service myself, refusing to contact anyone internally. The whole interaction felt like I was bothering her by simply asking for help. Easily the most unprofessional service I've experienced from someone in a management position. read more

I recently visited Best Buy 6/14/24 7:41 PM with the intention of purchasing a refrigerator, but my experience left me extremely disappointed due to the lack of customer service and apparent disregard for customer satisfaction. When I entered the appliances area, I noticed that the employee assigned to assist customers was engrossed in her phone and showed no interest in offering help. Despite my obvious need for assistance, the employee remained on her phone. Frustrated, I approached the manager to report the situation. The manager called the employee and informed her that a customer required help. To my disbelief, even after this notification, the employee continued to use her phone for another five minutes without acknowledging me. When I returned to the manager to express my concerns, she dismissively suggested that the employee was likely looking up something on her personal phone. This excuse seemed implausible to me, especially since Best Buy provides computers for such tasks. It was clear that neither the employee nor the manager prioritized customer service. This experience is disheartening because it reflects a broader issue in modern retail where businesses expect customers to spend money without providing quality service in return. The attitude displayed by the manager and the employee suggests that this particular Best Buy location does not value its customers. Every employee represents the company, and in this case, the representation was that Best Buy doesn't care whether you make a purchase or not. Until this issue is addressed, I will not return to this Best Buy location. I suspect I am not the only customer who has experienced such poor treatment. Customer service should be a priority, and it is disappointing to see a well-known retailer fail in this regard. THEY REALLY NEED 0 STARS ALL STAFF read more

Really screwed over by these folks. Over the years I've bought at least 40K worth of goods. Bought a high end home theater receiver. It quict working. I had the manufacturers warranty on it. It took eight months to get it back and it still doesn't work correctly. Geek Squad from BB said it never will. Need to trade it for a Yamaha. Again, under warranty, Best Buy Says no! I'd give 0 stars if possible. I placed an online order for a new macbook pro upwards of $2,000, along with a trade in of my old one. I decided to keep my old one since they only offered $100. The manager named Chris was extremely rude and condescending. Didn't even try to help me. Kept telling me i'd have to cancel the order but insisted that I could just simply repurchase it at that moment. (I got it financed thru PayPal and it was on sale. My financing doesn't cover another purchase so while waiting for a refund i'd lose out on the sale) I explained this to the manager but he refused. I know this guy racially profiled me and thought i was committing fraud. I leave to my car to cancel the order and just get it delivered but i cant now. So i go back inside, they called the Shift Lead named Frankie. I explain to her the situation, and I was given my order with 1 minute. I will be calling corporate. read more

They offer AppleCare repairs. But it's not made clear that they have to order the parts for your phone and you have to leave your phone there with them in order to have it repaired. For all that drama might as well do the $99 replacement. They don't allow a direct call to the store so finding out this information was a big waste of time in itself of finding that planning my day around this appointment would also be a waste of time because the person that does the repairs didn't bother to show up for work today and they waited an hour before my appointment to even call and notify me of this. This store is definitely a disappointment all around. read more

I just got home after the worst customer service experience I've had in a while at the Best Buy located off Arrow Hwy & Central in the Montclair store. I went to buy an Ethernet adapter. Of course, I checked online prior to coming to make sure that the item was stocked. Red flag #1, I had to find the item on my own. Not one employee in sight. Red flag #2, checkout. One cashier. ONE! After 20 minutes of just standing there, I politely requested that a second cashier be paged. Two so called "managers" advised me that "they're short staff & no one else is literally available?" Finally, it was my turn & I stepped up to the cashier. I asked if they could comp me a lousy $2 for my trouble. "Oh no, they said, that would require a manager's approval"? OK. I thought I WAS speaking to a manager? So, just to get the Hell outta there, I paid $16+ change for a Ethernet adapter that's probably made by Chinese kids in a sweat shop for what, 25 cents? Disgusting. p.s. Understandably, I was fuming when I got in my car. I called Best Buy customer service dept. to log a formal complaint. FYI, their customer service is in India. I have the utmost respect for the folks working customer service: stateside or wherever. I've worked it myself. However, the woman help me had a thick accent & I couldn't understand her. I asked her if I could give her my cell# to forward it to corporate for a callback. What do you think she said??? I just hung-up. Moral of this story: save your hard earned cash & patience & shop somewhere else for your electronic needs. Thanks for letting me vent. read more

This store is the absolute worst store I've ever stepped foot in. I just spent 4 hours at this location dealing with gear squad to still walk away upset and with no resolution insight. I came in for a car audio Geek Squad warranty I have that was purchased in 2021. The warranty is supposed to cover accidental damage and manufacture defects. I was checked in and the car audio dept took my stereo our and took my stereo up to the front counter for Geek Squad where I was greeted by Natalie a Geek Squad "consultant". Natalie proceeded to tell me that they are going to send my product out for a GSP warranty through Pioneer and said more than likely wouldn't be covered due to damage. Along with this claim they stated my car would be left with a hole where stereo would be on my car for upwards of 4 weeks. Geek Squad customer support on the phone stated that they would put a loaner in or replace it the same day. I questioned why this was happening I didn't purchase a extended warranty through Pioneer and the rep stated that's the process. I asked to speak to a store manager and that took a few minutes. Francis then came to talk to me spilling the same "procedure" that the rep did to me then offered to sell me a stereo. Francis is not the store manager I found that out from a different rep in a different department in the store. Once I didnt accept that as a answer I was told to reach out to Jason Simon which is the operations manager who has no schedule and the number on his card is for the main store which transfers to best buy customer support and you end up speaking to ppl in a different country that can not help you in any way shape or form. So I finally cave in send the unit and they check the stereo in saying that I told them the sun damaged it. The customer service is terrible and a majority of the ppl lie about names and positions. I fully expect to to get told to pound sound in 4 weeks. read more
