After all, they don't event give their store manager an escalation number to call, in case they need help. I'm not even considering buying anything major on Bestbuy website now. It's under warranty and has no sound. because it's under warranty I was put at the bottom. I received a text saying laptop was ready for pick up. Bought a new iBuyPower pc from BestBuy online and it arrived with a damaged side panel of the case. After 40 minutes on their help line, I was told to bring it into the local store. I brought it in to the Gainesville store today and was told they could not help me, but gave me a flyer with the same 888 number I called earlier in the week. No shocker that the online "help" said they could not do anything and told me to bring it into the local store. Even after I told them I did just an hour ago and was told to call them. Buyer beware. Well I bought a new TV on line and used curbside pickup. It was convenient however when we got the TV home, it is as open on the bottom. Thought that was weird but we unloaded it, took it downstairs, unpacked it and of course it didn't work and had to be replaced. I called Best Buy and they were going to deliver a new one and pick up the old one. I was asked to hold several times and finally I was told I had to be sent to another department and as you would know, someone picked up and then click. Grrrr Now I had to go to the store and wait in line for a while. I attributed it to being after Thanksgiving. Now the bright spot was that the young man handled the issue without any manager needed. He keyed in an order for a new one and to pick up the old one. Also, they did deliver on time. I am disappointed in the fact that they had to know the TV was open. This is a new Best Buy in the sprawling retail complex that is threatening to envelope all of Gainesville! I went in here today, ostensibly to do some Christmas shopping. I wanted to buy an A/V - Home Theater Receiver for my brother to go with the new High Def TV he just bought, among other things. I was looking for a specific model of Yamaha receiver I had seen at another Best Buy location recently - the Yamaha HTR 6090. Well, I was somewhat chagrined to find they were no longer offering that model at Best Buy. Period. Oh well. So I went over to the home appliances section to look at Toaster ovens as I have a family member that has requested one for Christmas. None of them were on display - you could not look at them. I asked a BB associate about this. He said that their store was to small to display a lot of stuff. He told me that the Fair Lakes store was the place to go if I wanted to look at Toaster ovens. I told him I had indeed seen them on display there - and I was mildly impressed that he knew this. After that I half heartedly checked out the High Definition TVs and looked at the price of both HD and Blu-Ray DVD Players, and also tried to find an extra battery for my digital camera, which I could not find. The store is nice and clean and well laid out. But it is smaller as the BB associate said, I will most likely go to the BB in Fair Lakes in the future. I left without buying anything. read more

I've been to this Best Buy location many times for a variety of things and they are always very helpful. It's nice to know that when you walk in, the employees you are dealing with will actually be able to answer your questions and in a way that you can understand. And they don't treat you like an idiot for not knowing something or being unfamiliar with how something works. I have never once been pressured to buy anything of given the "upsell" that other stores seem to think is the only way to treat customers. They will let you spend as much time browsing on your own as you want, but are ready to help at any time. It's really a good balance and one a lot of stores just can't get right. read more

DO NOT use the Geek Squad for anything. They require a none refundable $150 deposit for the "work" they do on your computer even if they can't fix the problem. They say you pay for this list of services that include a diagnosis that they say is vital. A list of services no one asks for and they use as an excuse to keep your money for doing nothing. A mom and pop computer store down the street, that I should have gone to first, asked for only a $50 deposit. The simple installation and repairs Geek Squad does, anybody could do. The hard stuff, they don't have a clue how to solve, they just keep your deposit and just tell you sorry. Go anywhere else to fix your PC or laptop. read more

Bought a floor model washer, scheduled the delivery for the upcoming Wednesday, late Tuesday I get a call saying truck is broke down and rescheduled for Saturday 9-1, at 1 I called to see where my delivery was, was told by two different customer service reps it was back ordered from the manufacturer, did I mention it's a floor model which I touched with my own two hands? Again rescheduled for Thursday (today) I received a call from the install guy who says another team delivers it and then he comes and installs it. I showed them the screws I wanted to buy. He took my laptop to the back and came out a few minutes later with the screws installed and asked for $40. Best Buy Apple Care Review So I dropped my IPhone XS Max and shattered the back glass....phone still worked but developed a really bright white and purple stripe on the main screen. Hey wait...I've got Apple Care. Let me log-in and start the repair / replacement process. Log in to Apple Care and Best Buy Gainesville is listed as the closest authorized Apple Repair agent. Awesome! I dig Best Buy and it's 5 minutes from my house....no trip to Fair Oaks or Reston Town Center to the crowded and always busy Apple stores! I scheduled an appointment with the Geek Squad for Saturday, May 18, at 1:20 PM. I arrived a few minutes early and checked in with the Geek. I waited patiently as my 1:20 appointment came and went. No worries, this Geek is doing his best with his current client. Still patiently waiting. Finally at 2:05 it's my turn. I am warmly greeted (everyone at the store was friendly) and we began the process of evaluating my phone issue. Here's where the problem starts. Apparently, Apple Care is kind of a new thing for Best Buy, Gainesville. As they evaluated my phone they had to follow a cumbersome process of uploading the data to Apple and wait for an appropriate response. Ok, I understand this process is new for them and there's going to be some glitches along the way. They finally made a determination that my phone had to be replaced under Apple Care. Unfortunately, they didn't have one in stock. Really not a big deal, my phone still works. The Geek wrote a replacement order and promised to be in touch within 48 hours. It's 2:50 PM. Not super excited about how long it took, but in the end I am getting a phone and it's close to home. 48 hours...nothing. 72 hours...crickets chirping. 96 hours....dead silence. So, I take my order and head back to Best Buy. I am somewhat warmly greeted by a Geek who asks if I have an appointment? No, no appointment. Sorry, Sir, we are booked for the entire day. I calmly showed him my order and waited for a response. He hopped on his computer for a few moments and disappeared to the back (to retrieve my new phone, I assume) I had to assume because he spoke no words. When he returned empty handed I was a little concerned. The Geek confusingly stated that no order had been placed and now they may want to repair the phone. As I felt my blood pressure rising I said "no thanks, I'm going to Apple" I climb in my car and get on my crappy, cracked phone. Log into Apple Care again, anticipating a few days wait to get a Genius Bar appointment. Wow, there's an appointment available in 90 minutes at Fair Lakes Apple. I'm on it. I arrive at Apple 25 minutes early. They check me in and advise someone will be with me shortly. Genius Bar guy (Brad) greets me and looks at my phone....oooh that's cracked on the back glass. That's a replacement. Punches some buttons on his phone, confirms I have a I-Cloud back-up, and 3 minutes later someone emerges from the back with a new phone. Brad erases my old phone, activates my new one, and has me out the door prior to my appointment start time. Hell yeah! This review is not to praise Apple, but the show the difference in care I received. I went to Best Buy to save the most valuable thing in my life...time. They did nothing but waste several hours of it. I intend to never go back. read more

Your standard Best Buy...nothing exciting or special but a good place to go for reasonably priced electronics. If you really try hard you can probably find the same stuff online at a cheaper price...but if you are like me when you want something you want it now. So I find myself here or one of their sister stores. Staff is usually nice and willing to assist...just wished when I go in to kill sometime I was not asked if I could be helped ever five minutes. If you know exactly what you are looking for I recommend checking to ensure it is in stock before you arrive so you do not have to store hop...you can even have them shop for you and just pick it up at the counter like most box stores. read more

Please do not ever order a washer or dryer from this business. They took our old dryer last Friday and we had the new dryer scheduled to come on Saturday. They did not come. Then they said they would come on Monday. Nope, so they came on Tuesday and did not finish the installation even though I was inside the window of 12-6pm. Great service from the nice woman helping me buy a printer in the store today. After spending $500 in the store, I had a question after opening the box at home. I called the store phone number only to get the most annoying automated service that could not address my question at all. I eventually was put through to a human who then put me on hold. After a couple of minutes on hold, I was cut off. I called the number back and was again connected with a automated service that could not help me at all. This proves that there is no benefit to shopping locally and having face to face or even a human voice on the end of the phone line for information. Yes, Amazon wins again. read more

Tried to order the wired earbuds for my iphone that were in stock at this location for curbside pick up. Their website refused to let me change from inside pick up to curbside pickup. I tried several times. I tried backing up and going back through the checkout process only getting each time "An error occurred" . . . never said what the error was. So I decided to just have them shipped. Same thing . . . "an error occurred" . . . . I thought it was my credit card. So I tried another one. Same error. Originally went to 3 Lowes and 2 Home Depots to purchase a dryer. Waited 15-20 minutes each time for service. Looked for floor support but found none. On a whim, not knowing Best Buy sells appliances, I stopped in at the Gainesville shop on my way to yet another Lowes. Immediately, a young man offered assistance! Turns out he also was quite knowledgeable about the very machine in which I was interested, as well as the other models sold at BB. He educated me on the pros/cons of other machines without trying to persuade me to purchase a higher-priced model. Indeed, I wish I had his name! He should be given a raise!! Just okay. The selection of dvds is good which is why I went here, to pick up some dvds on a whim. No customer service. Passed many employees on the floor. Not a single hello or inquiry as to if I needed help. One even stood in the aisle, in my way, talking to a friend while still on shift. Later, when I did need help locating a dvd not a single staffer to be found. Gave up and bought what I had in my hands. But wait! After waiting in a super long line because there were only a couple cashiers, I get to the register just to be told there's no money in it. are you kidding me?? To keep this short I purchased a tv from gainsville va to be picked up in fairlakes. Fairlakes would not honor this purchase and told me i need to return my original purchase and buy the same model again. I said no because i didnt have the extra money and the return would not be processed instantly. But when i go to purchase a new tv is were this best buy story gets crazy ridiculous  Part 2 so i ask the store clerk if they have a certain model sony tv. she tells me no but we have it in stock at a bestbuy 25 minutes away you can purchase it here and pick it up there so they have it on hold. Sounds great rite . So i make the purchase thinking i can go pick it up today. i get an e-mail saying it will be ready in 45 minutes not a problem. i wait 4 hours before i go 8:00pm the store closes at 9:00. I go to pick up the tv up with receipt. She says do you have the order number i hand her receipt she's typing uhh no i need order number whats your phone number i give here my phone number attached to purchase. she says no i need order do you have an email with it. i hold my phone up for her about 5 minutes so she can read the order number. i was holding my phone up felt like forever as she looked back an forth at my phone and her computer.i think was new and seemed nice so i didnt want to make it so obvious she was makeing me hold my phone like that for her. but im still holding it and she wount tell me shes finished after the 3rd time i bring it back up im like ok whatever. meanwhile my car is out front running because im picking up a tv I already paid for assuming it would be quick .and a best buy employee calls me from my g/f phone who's sitting in the car and is trying to put a monitor in my car and wants to confirm. because her English isn't the best hes calling me so at this point she tells me the order isn't ready and she doesnt know when it will be so i go move my car to parking and come back in and ask to speak to a manager this is were it gets really bad.    Part 3 first because its so much bs people dont want to read I purchased a sony tv at gainsville va location to be picked up at fairlakes va location because the purchase location didnt have it in stock. I wait 4 hours then go to the other location to pick up my tv. When i paid they said 25 minutes it takes you to drive  there my e-mail said wait 45 minutes and it will be ready. The manager tells me they dont have this tv in stock but they do have them just comeing off the truck. This tv on the truck isn't for my order though and i need to return my order and purchase a new one of the exact same tv  this purchase was made with a debit card and i tell him the return isn't going to happen instantly and i dont have the money to do that he says how did you make the purchase ohh you should have a best buy credit card so we can do returns instantly.  He says This is not his stores fault the original purchase store just created a order an nothing else it says on my receipt to be picked up at this fair lakes va location i don't understand this. Why did they take my money and promise me a tv why do i need to make a return of my original purchase and purchase a new one so i make the return of my original receipt and is stuck  waiting for this return to process and promise myself to never shop at bestbuy again 10 years ago i was a platinum member and loved them and can't believe the ridiculous my interactions have ben with then now im making complaints all night instead of play new COD on 4k read more
