First time here and probably won't be back because it's not my closest. We were on our way to the airport and I had forgotten to get something. This location was perfect along the way. We knew where to find what I needed and they had it in stock (I had already checked online). There was nobody on the checkout queue, but I had to wait quite a long time to be helped. There were a few people with online orders and the 2 people at the front were just helping them and ignoring us. After I literally stared at them I was eventually helped. This should've taken less time given that I was the only one in the line and 2 people were at the registers. The inside was clean, but it felt stuffy and uncomfortable in there. I ordered a computer online & paid for it out right. Store location had multiple available for pick up, in store & ready for the next day pick up. When I arrived the next day for pick up they said it was not ready. I questioned it & I was told I had to wait to get an email. So I left. Later in the day I received a call from my brother saying they would not release my order until he approved it. So I went back again, on another day to finally pick it up. Here is my problem with this transaction. I went online as a guest, I used MY information, I paid outright! Why was it put on hold? Why did no one communicate it was on hold so it could have been cleared up right there so I didn't have to circle back again? If I walked in the store & bought it outright, would you have not let me buy the product without my brother's permission & put me on hold? The first time I went with my husband, staff in the computer department were very helpful. In addition to a large computer screen and multiple laptops, we bought a little Polaroid type camera. It wasn't in stock but the associate was kind enough to order it to be delivered to my house. He also double checked the type of film I needed then ran to get me a couple boxes, which was super nice of him. The second two times I was there to pickup a couple online orders. It was easy and convenient but the staff working that window aren't very friendly. I have worked in retail, so I get it, it's hard and you run into unpleasant customers. But in my opinion, if I'm nice to you, be nice to me. A little smile and hello goes a long way. However, the return policy said 14 days. I went in to see what can be done and they asked me to buy the $50 membership to extend my return policy to 30 days LOL and then I can exchange or return with no problem. Not only did they sell a faulty item, but they asked me to pay them so they can honor my exchange. I honestly don't know how ethical this policy even is. I have been a long-time customer with Best Buy. Until today, I have never experienced any problems or uncomfortable situations while shopping at your stores. On today's visit 3/12/26 to the Downey Best Buy location at approximately 3:45 I went to the customer service desk to inquire about trading in my Nintendo Switch OLED toward the purchase of a new Nintendo Switch. The associate assisting me, Uriel, initially informed me that Best Buy only accepts the Nintendo Switch Lite for trade-ins and not the OLED model. I found this confusing because I had checked online prior to visiting the store and saw that the OLED model could be traded in. After I showed him the information on my device, he mentioned that his computer system might be delayed. He then stated that the exchange could still not be completed because the device did not have the proper controllers that originally came with it. At that point, I asked to speak with the store manager. The store manager, Omar Campos, came to assist. I explained the situation and what I was trying to do. Instead of discussing the issue, he pulled out his wallet and handed me his business card, which I had not requested. When I told him I did not need the card and was simply trying to explain the situation, he tossed it onto the counter. I attempted to show him the information online indicating that the OLED model could be traded in if the controllers were functioning. He told me that if the website allowed me to complete the trade-in online, I should do it that way--but then said that if I brought it to the store, he would not accept it. This left me confused as to why I was being directed to do something online that he was already stating he would refuse in person. The interaction then became very dismissive, and he walked away before allowing me to finish explaining my concern. As I stepped aside to look up the corporate number and district manager information, I left the store with my son beside me. While exiting, I looked toward the manager and saw him smiling and waving goodbye at me in front of other associates the time frame was 4:10pm I felt extremely embarrassed and humiliated by this interaction. As someone who also works in retail, I understand how important customer service and leadership are. A store manager sets the tone for the entire team, and unfortunately this interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism I have always associated with Best Buy. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Do not recommend this Best Buy location. I camped out overnight with my 6-year-old son for a Pokémon release. it was his first time and he was so excited. Instead of a fun memory, it turned into a disappointing experience because of how they treated a kid. The manager, Luis, came out and rudely looked and point to me and my son and said he wasn't giving my son a ticket for product. I tried to explain that my son had waited all night and should be treated like everyone else, but he was completely dismissive. Associate Francesco is super rude and clearly doesn't know how to treat customers even telling people in line to "worry about yourself." Francesco also told me, "we don't have to sell to you if we don't want to," and to hurry up and buy, which was completely unprofessional especially after we had waited all night. I'd understand if this was about someone trying to use a newborn just to get more product, but this is a kid who understands what's going on and genuinely loves the Pokémon hobby. He waited all night and was excited for this moment. On top of that, most locations usually allow one of each product, but here they only allowed one item total, which made the situation even worse. After waiting all night, that's how we were treated. Even others in line were shocked at how unprofessional everything was. The way they treated a 6-year-old who was excited and waited all night was unacceptable. Completely unacceptable. They turned what should've been a special moment into a negative one. However, after waiting about 15 minutes while browsing, no one came to help, so I returned to the front to ask again. Eventually, a young man came over, but Theron ultimately assisted me. Theron was absolutely fantastic--patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. I showed him pictures of the space, provided the measurements I had, and together, we found the best appliances for my needs. His friendly demeanor and expertise gave me confidence in my purchase. I can definitely understand the bad reviews here, but since I was here to simply pick up an order, I can't really give that bad a rating. However, I can definitely sympathize with the lack of customer service, at least while I was browsing around. I had a $5 promotional certificate that was randomly given to me out of the blue, and I was trying to look up Best Buy's deals, which can alter daily. I did find a deal on a product that I was interested in, but as it turns out, they didn't have any in stock at the Best Buy in Lakewood! However, they did have a few left in stock at this Best Buy in Downey Landing on the east side of Lakewood Blvd north of Imperial. I was also planning to eat lunch in the same shopping center, so I was able to do two things at once, in reference to that Travis Kelce Pfizer commercial. I placed my order online for in store pickup with the promise that it would be ready in an hour. Sure enough, within that hour, I got an email saying my order was ready for pickup and it would be held there for 6 days. The email says that if you can't pick up your order by then, they will cancel your order and refund you, but you can also request an extension if need be, something I'd recommend doing if you used a promotional certificate as I don't think it would be refunded alongside your payment. In addition to an email, I got a text saying that my order was ready for pickup. Both forms of communication directed me to tap the "I'm here and in line" link to signify my presence inside the store. The link from the text got me to the sign in page, but the link from the email directed me to the pickup page. I'm not sure how that happened, and I'm sure I'd get a different result were I to place a future order, but the pickup page does have a barcode that the employee needs to scan first. He also asked to see my ID to confirm I was the correct person to pick up the order. The process was seamless until the end when he was about to walk away after scanning out my order. I wanted to ask him about the return policy, and he tried to answer while walking away. His voice kept trailing off, so I asked him to clarify a couple of times. That was kind of annoying, but other than that, his service was fine. I wish he did a better job of finishing, though. The online order pickup was right next to the exit, so I went back to my car to drop off my order and decided to come in to explore the rest of the store. I liked how the interior looked with all merchandise in good condition, but I didn't like how there weren't as many employees about to help out if needed. As an example, I was taking a look in the appliances section, and I only saw one employee there. He seemed to be busy over the phone or a walkie talkie, but it gave me the impression that help isn't readily available at this Best Buy. I continued browsing through the appliances section, even getting distracted by doing a few Google searches on a fridge. I heard someone offering help to someone in my direction, but he was looking at another customer instead. Even in other parts of the store, nobody offered to help, which didn't really bug me since I wasn't planning to get anything else. However, if I was, it would have left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure I'd go as far to stay this Best Buy is short-staffed, but don't be surprised to wait some time for an associate to help you if needed. Also, during my visit, there was an annoying alarm that kept sounding somewhere in the store. It wasn't screechingly loud like a banshee, but if you were nearby, it could disrupt your experience and decision making on what to get. In the far corner of the store, there are a couple of rooms for Home Audio, but the doors were closed when I went. I don't know if you can only go in there with an associate, but I didn't bother to find out. It would have been cool if those rooms weren't enclosed spaces, and anybody could go in to experience the sights and sounds of a home theater, something I've done before at the Lakewood location. Overall, not a bad visit. I did enjoy getting to browse around the store and seeing all the gadgets available for sale. They had a pretty good selection from what I saw, and the interior looked pretty modern as well. However, like I alluded to before, don't expect help to be available at a moment's notice. It might take several minutes before you can get someone to answer your questions. I didn't interact with any other associate besides the one at the pickup counter. read more

Unfortunately customer service is gone nowadays. Not too long ago I enter a Best Buy and at least 2 employees would check up to make sure we find what we needed. Anyway, we drove all the way up here since husband bought a Chromebook yesterday that didn't come with the stylus, and this location was the only one that had it according to their website. Best Buy or the manager of this Best Buy probably doesn't care about my poor customer service experience, but now I can see why this Best Buy has a 2.5 star rating. I walked in at 10 am and approached two middle aged, glasses wearing, Hispanic chunky gentlemen (one was on the computer in the front of the store) and the other was just chatting with him I guess at the time, and I asked the one sitting by the computer if they had any Pokemon cards. The one sitting down couldn't even bother turning from his computer and said, "What's that?". I get it, you're old and think Pokemon is stupid, but the company that you work for supposedly sells them. After he stopped playing dumb, he gave me a dismissive answer and said, "Yeah we don't have them". Gee thanks, but can you at least check when your next delivery shipment will be? Hello to whom this may concern, I recently purchased a PS5 remote (October 12,2024) as the associate rang me up she informed me that my membership would expire and that I had to renew it since I was purchasing close to $1,000 in electronics that day, so I did, and she then proceeded to show me proof from her desk top that my membership was active till next October year 2025 so that transaction went well , fast forward 2 months November 30, 2024 I UNFORTUNATELY had to go exchange my remote at your BEST BUY DOWNEY CA 90242  LOCATION  since it was malfunctioning  , it is not abused in anyway shape or form all buttons are present and nothing is rattling, but I was told that I would not be able to return or exchange despite paying my membership (I have the proof from YOUR BEST BUY DESKTOP ACKNOWLEDGING my renewed membership) because i didnt have a new debit card on file and that if I wanted to renew my ALREADY renewed membership I would have to pay an additional $180 and then maybe I would probably be able to exchange my damaged remote.
