I would not go to this Best Buy they are thief's. I took my lest than one year laptop into for repair because it would not turn on. They told me they would let me know if they would be able to fix it or they my not. I had bought the extended warranty in which they said is the best and you would not have any problems if something happens to it. When I bought the computer they also sold me a Samsung 980 pro 2TB internal Gaming SSD PCle in which they said this make sure your computer run faster. I did and bought a warranty for this also and they installed it in the computer. After waiting a month they said they would not be able to fix the computer and they would give me the money for a new one. I told them okay and went into the store to pick out a new computer. I also asked them for my Samsung 980 pro 2TB internal Gaming SSD PCle so it could be installed in the new computer. They said we have to call the repair shop and give us a week. I have also emailed Brian Hundt the manager about this and they said they would get back to me. Not to go back and forth but a month later they said they cannot find my Samsung 980 pro 2TB internal Gaming. I only asked for them to replace what they lost or stole because a new Samsung 980 pro 2TB internal Gaming is double for what I paid for. I feel they stole my 2TB and trying to make me pay more money to get another one so I could put in my new computer. read more

When you check out with the items you're purchasing big ticket items they behave like it's a bother that you're checking out. I enjoy supporting local area stores and we wanted to enjoy our visit. But it's very hard to overlook the relation between this is majority black/brown neighborhood and that customers aren't allowed to hold the merchandise they're going to buy. The store employees play keep away and tell you (inaccurately) which register it will be at. If you go to a Best Buy in an affluent neighborhood, they don't treat you like this. Additionally, the employees are a mix of asking "how are you doing?" to barely noticing you. I wouldn't shop here again. Better to go to a different electronics/computer store that is based in Illinois. Unfortunately it's pretty far to go to Logan Square or Westmont. read more

If I can give this store no stars I would. Customer service is VERY poor. I asked for help twice because the printer I wanted was in stock according to the website but was not on the shelf. I ask a lady which later on found out she was the manager. You would like she would have help but nope, she send me off still looking for help. Once I finally got the printer I had a $5 coupon that I had just received but two weeks ago but she couldn't honor it even after I showed her my email. She send me off to call customer service. I would understand if it was $50 dollars but it was just $5 and I even added Warrenty for the printer. I was upset because I spend 30mins looking for help and now this coupon that did not have an expiration date but she mentioned it expired and failed to show me where that stated. I used to like Best Buy from a few years ago but now... everything is way too overpriced. Like I could find anything from Best Buy & compare it to other stores and they would be significantly cheaper. It's alot more dangerous, their has been attempted kidnapping in the parking lot and other strange stuff making it a danger to even walk to the store. They do not answer the phone. I tried to call their geek squad and the regular store and no answer. Phone keeps ringing. I tried multiple times. Customer service is trash. If they can't complete a simple task like answering the phone, I cannot trust them installing a car radio. I wouldn't trust them at all. Judging solely based off the phone experience, having them install a radio makes me nervous that they will mess my car up. I placed a same day pickup order for a router as mine stopped working and I didn't have any internet connection/access. I decided to go with Best Buy because it was listed as in stock and I work remotely so I needed to get back online quickly. I wait about an hour and then decide to head to the store as it is usually no longer than 90 minutes anywhere for pickup. When I arrive, I'm informed that the store is under construction and customers are not allowed in. I check again with 4-5 associates at the door and the only thing he tells me after scanning my barcode on my order is in is not ready. So after waiting for 3 hours I called to speak to a live agent and waited another 15 minutes on hold. The agent informs me that the item is out of stock at all locations near me until July 22nd. Today is July 16th 6 days later. I asked why didn't anyone tell me at store and why did it say it was in store online when it wasn't. He was very smug and just blew me off. Horrible nasty store. The only person good was our sales lady. Her coworkers were bullying her as she was new and Best buy nasty DOS based computer system is hard to flip through pages and fields so she was struggling. The appliance sales counter these jokers were working was nasty and broken and sticky yuck! Anyway we gave her a big sale and got all our kitchen appliances from there. It has been 20 days and our dishwasher is still sitting in our hallway and not installed. They do not have enough installers in Chicagoland !! Stay away and buy large appliances from some other big box store. This review is only for purchasing my last 2 iPhones. My 4s was on its last leg, at almost 3 years old. I was past due for an upgrade, and I knew I would go to Best Buy instead of my cell phone provider...why? Because Best Buy is cheaper, at least, it has been for my last 2 phones. $50 bucks cheaper! So, for $199, I got the 32g 5s and a $100 BB gift card. Seriously - great deal! BB takes care of everything, and you are in and out faster than you would be if gone to your cell phone carrier.f LeRon helped me out. He was very professional and knew his stuff. I was more than happy with his customer service skills. Also, all of the young people that work at this location are friendly and professional and carry themselves very well. You don't see that nowadays. I think they must be trained very well on customer service. The store opened at 10am and there were at least 30 people outside waiting to get in. I will say that this BB is staffed appropriately. Nobody was waiting for help, since they had several people in each department. You were greeted by everyone as you walked around the store. Normally I handle all of my electronics shopping online. However, my recent search for a laptop brought me to this Best Buy. I came here because it is very close to my house and thought if I find the laptop I want, I can walk right out with it instead of waiting for it to be delivered to my house. In any case, the place was not too packed and it was a Wednesday night when I came in, so not as crazy pack as it is on the weekends, regardless, their service was subpar. I had questions about inventory & specific units and even though there were like 8 Best Buy employees around the computers, none offered to help after I walked around the same area for about 10 minutes. Then I went to the register/computer thing to get their attention, and I had to wait for 3 of them to wrap up their personal conversation and jokes before they asked me what I needed. They don't care and they don't know anything here. I get all I need from shopping online, I'll stick to that from now on. This place is destined to meet the same fate as Circuit City. I went to this store yesterday (11-2-2019) for a phone. I am African American. I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. An African American lady signed me in and asked what I was there for. I told her to upgrade. She asked what phone company I was with. I stated Sprint. She said ok you will have to speak to this guy (who was mexican). He was the only worker for Sprint. The people he was servicing were Mexican. She said you are next. She ask what type of phone did I want to purchase. I said Samsung Note 10+. She looked in the system and said, oh yeah we have plenty. Stated you'll be next. I went to talk to the Sprint Rep. who did not work for Best Buy. I waited and waited. I asked several times if ANYBODY else could help me. I was told no, because he was the only sprint guy there. The Sprint Rep went to the worker to ask how much longer. He told him not much longer, but he was having a problem. I saw another customer (Mexican) walk up to the worker to ask will the wait be long. The worker told him no you have one in front of you. I waited and waited. The Sprint Rep asked the worker again how much longer. He said he's almost done and he know you're next. The Rep apologized. He left. I arrived there at 7pm. It was now 7:55pm. Finally the worker was finished with that customer. Low and behold he had another guy sitting in his chair (Mexican). I said, Sir I am next. The worker said well he was here they just didn't sign him in. As I was complaining to him, he started helping another (Mexican customer) that just walked up. I was livid. At this time another Best Buy worker (Mexican) told me he could help me. I find out later his name was Jose (a manager). All this time I saw this one and other workers not assisting customers. I told him what I wanted. He looked in the casing where the new phones were and said there was only one but it was opened. He was very abrupt in answering me. I complained. He went to the computer. I thought he was checking the stock in the back. NO he said he could order it. I asked another worker for a Manager. I was looking for Playstation 4 game, and checked the inventory online to find the Best Buy location where it was in stock before driving out to pick it up in the store. It was not in the shelves where games were stacked alphabetically, it was not on any of the display shelves, and it was not in any of the bargain shelves. The employees ignored me before I proactively got the attention of one of them (he was just playing on his phone), and after he checked the availability of it himself, he said he would check the "warehouse," left, and came back a few minutes later, emptyhanded. Apparently they stopped taking air pods in during the pandemic, but as of 04/11 they are taking them again, I get in there with an appointment head over to geek squad where I waited for 45 mins, only to be told first that a lot of the people currently working wasn't there before when they were accepting air pods for service replacement (pre pandemic) so no one really knows how to process a warranty replacement for malfunction. Then the employee tells me he will then switch to using apple system since the Best Buy system was a dead end, then I am told that it would be $80 to replace the left one, after explaining that both are having issues and are still under warranty. After declining this offer I am then told that I can make an appointment at the apple store to get it replaced for free, but Best Buy is suppose to be an authorized Apple 3rd party servicer. Nearly an hour of time wasted, and the funny thing is I haven't been to this store in years because the last experience with Geek Squad was even worse. Had the worst experience at this store today, my son bought a cell phone 5 days ago and noticed today that the camera lens looked broken, we bought the protection plan so I called customer service and they said to take it in, we did. As soon as we got there I noticed two people sitting a female sitting eating on the floor later found out her name is Sherry she refused to look at the receipt, repeated over and over that the phone was dropped and we needed to pay $150 deductible. Even though customer service said that I was and still am less than 14 day return policy. This woman, would not listen to anything I had to say continued to eat saying I am the manager, your son dropped the phone, she must of repeated that several times (even though my 21 year old son did not drop the phone it's been in a case since the day he bought it) so I said fine asked her name and walked out. I returned to get the phone number and name of the district manager and by then Sherry was another heavier set man and she told me rudely after I asked for the district managers name and number and she said to me in a rude tone I was going to give you the phone number to LG but you can get it yourself, My response to Sherry was first of all I do not appreciate lack of professionalism and I will never shop at this location again and she said good get out. I became upset and by then the REAL manager Jonathan Smith spoke up and said get out of my store and don't come back. I called customer service made the report and told them I would be going to the closest Best Buy in Burbank. As soon as I got to the front door, the greater, saw the phone and responded "Oh yeah we got a call you were coming" I thought perhaps customer service called but was I dead wrong. I went straight to the mobile department and asked to speak with the manager they called a man named Frank. He was very nice at first and even said he was shocked at the attitude I received at Chicago Ridge Mall. He said he personally knew Jonathan Smith the manager and worked with him and trained him at the Tinley Park location he said he is a good friend. Frank then said don't worry I'll take care of you and walked me over to the Geek Squad location. He took a while so I peeked to see if he was in the back and noticed him on the phone. After a few minutes his demeanor changed, he told me that my son dropped the phone, although he did not and he would not honor an exchange or returns then walked away. I called customer service spoke with Kimberly (Very nice & polite representative of Best Buy) she docketed everything I said and wanted to speak with Frank, after having to wait for him for more than 5 minutes he came back and said he didn't want to speak to anyone and was not going to allow the return/exchange, I placed Kimberly on speaker phone and he snapped at her literally screaming at her saying I WILL NOT RETURN OR EXCHANGE THE PHONE THEY DROPPED THE DAMN PHONE, he would not give Kimberly his last name even though she asked for it, he was very rude to her too and handed the phone back to me as if he had enough! I told him my son and I never said he dropped the phone why are you lying? He told me very loudly LISTEN I WILL NOT RETURN OR EXCHANGE THE PHONE SO EITHER PAY $150 OR I WILL HAVE YOU THROWN OUT LIKE THEY THREW YOU OUT AT RIDGE QUIT BEING BELIGERANT! I turned around and noticed customers looking in total horror as if really this is coming from a worker? I told him listen I was never thrown out of Ridge, what is your problem? Do you know what belligerent means? He screamed at me, listen lady I do not need an education class from you, you swore earlier. Then my son told him nicely "she's not being belligerent you are being ignorant and belligerent to her, my son raised his voice because Frank raised his louder so I told my son do not stoop to his level let him scream and make a fool out of himself and as I turned around I noticed a crowd of people staring at him not me. I still had Kimberly on the phone and told her that this was a living nightmare, she witnessed over the phone the unprofessionalism this man caused me and her. She spoke to her manager and found out that Frank was not even the manager; Shawn Flynn was and told me to ask around for him, no one could locate him and kept calling Frank, but once Frank would notice me he would walk to the employee door. Kimberly then told me to go to another store. I made a complaint & will be contacting my lawyer. If I could leave Zero stars I would. The sales rep on Feb 3rd sold me the wrong type of service to install a Fridge with an Ice Maker/Water Dispenser. This is after I asked if I needed it, they insisted I could use my existing one. The delivery drivers showed up Feb.9 the without shoe covers, tracking snow and salt all over my floors, and very rude. Then they told me I didn't have a shut-off valve for the existing fridge(I do it's under the stink). I was then Told I needed a plumber and they couldn't connect it, and the sales rep should've sold me the complete installation service. After speaking with the dispatch, I ask them to leave the fridge so that we'd have one. They refused to leave it because they didn't want to haul my other away which was included in my purchase!They lied and said it would void my warranty, but then Said they could put the new one in my garage!!! The delivery was rescheduled for yesterday Feb 13th And after waiting Six hours, the guys show up and refuse to park in the front of my house where the path was cleared to deliver and take it off the truck. He asked me to clear another path.I did! They then Called their dispatcher Saying it was too much snow, and showed their dispatch the side of my house not the front that was cleared for them !!! However in Chicago it had snowed all day, but I was sure to clear a path and the front porch steps. Come to find out they had done this all day and saying they couldn't do drop offs because of the snow, and I was their last stop so they got away with doing it to me . Needless to say it went back to the warehouse and they wouldn't even talk me and pulled off, even hung up on the customer service rep talking with him. You know, I'm an electronics lover and I really like going to Best Buy, since it's an electronics store and all. But I really, really, don't like going to this Best Buy. I've had issues with them months ago where it would take forever to actually talk to someone on the phone when I had a product question. Thankfully, I started using their web site more and used that to check for availability of products in the store. So I finally broke down and went to the store this morning because I needed to pick up a hard drive for my desktop. There were two people working in the computer area and one of them was busy with a customer and the other looked at me as I looked at him but then walked away. I started to follow him to get his attention because the hard drives were locked in a glass case. Unfortunately, another customer got to him first so I waited. He took the other customer to some aisle further away from me so I waited some more and as the guy came back and looked at me AGAIN, he still didn't help me and started helping someone else. I finally went to him and told him that I needed to get a hard drive from the locked case. He acknowledged me and so I walked back to the hard drive section and waited another five minutes and finally the guy came and unlocked the case. He told me he had to walk the hard drive up to the front cashier and I was fine with that. Unfortunately (that word seems to be popping up quite a bit, huh?) the cashier he brought the hard drive to was having issues with a gift card and another customer. There was one other register open but there was a longer line for that one because some of the people in my line moved over first, so I waited it out. I think it took at least 10 minutes to get the customer with the gift card issue sorted out and when it was finally my turn to get rung up, the cashier didn't even apologize for the wait. I think I'll just avoide this Best Buy for another few months and hope that things improve. read more

I came here to purchase a memory Ram for my laptop, i needed at least a 8g for my hp pavilion, and I got a guy to help me out, he shows me the memory and tells me my laptop only holds a 4g, so I called HP and they said the guy from best buy was wrong! it holds a 8, to top that off, he gave me a desktop memory ram of 4, for 60.00!! had to drive back and return it only to find out they dont even carry this type!!!! Yes I was PISSED! To think they are called the geek squad! are you serious!? yes GEEKS, but not smart ones, especially that they had to google there info! I could have done that! I was recommended from office Depot to go to COMP USA! and I did! long drive to the north Side but it was so well worth it, they gave me all the info correctly, the price for a 8g costed me only 70 bucks!!! not bad at all! and they even helped me install it and even took the time to show me!!
